I know technically the Deoradh race is already pre-approved, but I haven't gone into great detail about the government. And I suck at proofreading my own stuff, so I always like to put stuff here for double checking just in case something is unclear or poorly worded.
Oh, by the way, this is a dual submission; The first is the government and society itself (The Free State).
The second is sort, well, the closest thing the Free State has to a police and military force -- The "Hacker Cult." The Deoradh, being very big on peace and other hippy-ish things decided not to actually have an armed police force, but instead an intelligence agency and hacker collective for cyberpolicing. The logic behind this is that in the real world the entire Deoradh race is broken down into small groups (starship crews). These smaller communities with very close proximity result in little privacy from one another or omnipotent security scanners, so real-world crimes are quite easy to catch and therefore control (this is covered in the Free State article). The digital world is much more vast and harder to watch, therefore people can get away with more. Hence the cyberpolicing, but no real-world policing.
And for those of you that are thinking it: Yes, every nation should have an armed force anyways to handle external military threats, even if internal ones aren't a problem. But the Deoradh haven't even had alien contact for at least a century, so there's no foreseeable reason they'd have a national defense force at the moment. Plus, they're just a bunch of space hippies and gypsies. "Make love, not war!"
