The Open Roleplay forum as fiction in the setting?

So I was thinking, we have all of this great content in the open roleplay foum that's not technically canon. Perhaps, the different threads could be Books or TV shows in the setting? If it's considered fiction, it wouldn't be making waves for any particular faction and would give characters something to talk about as their guilty pleasure without having to make something up.

Characters could discuss stuff going on in an active roleplaying thread like it was a regular tv show, either complaining or fawning or whatever strikes them. Or they could even address how disappointed they were that their favorite show cancelled before concluding.

Solution
Open RP posts are always considered canon unless there's some significant reason preventing that (e.g. something in the thread doesn't match with the lore and can't be reconciled).

The Freeform RP forum is noncanon and can be used for anything, from D&D games to IC fiction.
My only issue with this is that my plots tend to start in Open RP and transition outward. I'd rather not have someone just try and play it off like my plot is some cartoon show.

So maybe if it's applied to plots that specifically state they don't want to leave Open RP/can't, then I think it sounds cool.

Unless marked as non-canon, in-universe posts on the Open RP board are no less canon than any other RP board and become solidified canon once they're detailed on the wiki.

I think Wes explained it to me by saying that Open RP was simply open for anyone to join with approved or unapproved characters and was the starting place for RP without its own board.

I do like the idea, though. There's probably plenty of non-SARPiverse stuff for GMs to take a crack at using for background in-universe fiction, too!
