The Villainous Kangaroo.

Oh, sweet! Someone made a template for me! Path of least resistance, here... we... go!

What do you call yourself?
Online nowadays? Roo. Or the Villainous Kangaroo.
How'd you find Star Army?
I forget! I stumbled across it a year or more ago.

What interested you in joining?
The prospect of military roleplay in a sci-fi setting. There surprisingly isn't a lot of this I could find online, and what I could find didn't necessarily have this interesting flavor. Catgirls? Cyborg bro-dudes? Space-opera battles hinted at in your wiki (though I haven't read any of your roleplay threads beyond random samples browsing your site.)

Ever done this text-based roleplaying thing before?
Yes! To greater and lesser success. The most common trouble I found were reliable partners. Within the last couple years, it's honestly been my schedule and lack of drive to write. Well, I'm unemployed for the moment (hoping to fix that soon) and studying linux stuff is going to drive me off the deep end if I keep dogging it. Writing seems like the best pastime beyond my weekly tabletop roleplaying.

Any previous experiences you want to share?
Not right now. At the time of this writing, I'm tending toward ranting bitterly over the humidity in my town rather than say anything constructive. I tried a couple of times to write out how I came to adopt this screen name, but found that I had written two paragraphs raging about the humidity each attempt. Maybe some other time, though.

Now for the questionnaire!

Do you prefer:
  • Playing male, female, or other-gendered characters?
No real actual preference for the sex of characters, though I tend to play males.
  • Spontaneous or planned RP?
The level of planning in my roleplay varies greatly based on the day, the roleplay, and the others that are included in the roleplay. Typically, for roleplay, I plan out what my character wants (or will want) and how they're going to get it. Literally, I sometimes have two sentences describing this.
  • Military or civilian characters?
Military is my focus for now.
  • Humans, androids, anthros, or aliens?
    Yes?
  • Being on a starship or being on a planet?
    Yes.
  • Roleplay via forum posts or in real-time?
Real time is an option? That'd be pretty sweet. Forum posts is what I know, though, outside of tabletop.

On a scale of 1 to 3, what's your preferred level of these in your RP:
Rather than directly provide a number to each of your three categories (sexuality, violence, and langauge) I'll just state straight up that I largely don't mind any level of it beyond absolute extremes or it popping up unnecessarily. As an example, if we're roleplaying something where everyone is at a party where there's drinking, I'd expect there might be a balanced level of sexuality, heavy language, and very little violence. If we're roleplaying a Vietnam-like fight, I expect there would be heavy violence and language, with little to no sexuality. Certain scenarios might make me uncomfortable, but I'm an adult who recognizes that I can avoid, discuss, or stomach uncomfortable scenarios. Honestly, though, it's difficult to make me uncomfortable in writing. Fiction largely doesn't disturb me. Reading about non-fictional horrible events will have an effect on me however.

TL;DR: I tend to prefer that the intensity or prevalence of any of those three things stay consistent to the narrative.

What's something cool you'd love to RP?
Specifically on this site, I'd love to do small unit engagements (me and my partners vs the NPC enemy), partake as a group in a bigger engagement (of which me and my partners are a small part) and do military roleplay of units engaged in combat (as an overview). My understanding is that the first two things in that list happen pretty often on this forum. The third is just something cool I'd like to do, even if it may not happen often (or at all) on this forum.

Welcome to Star Army! I like your answers, and I hope to see all those things in the "Something cool to RP" section happen.

How are you doing so far with getting a character into RP?
