Kyoto, Yamatai

Another autumn had arrived in the Kyoto Megacity, bringing cool temperatures, falling leaves, momiji manju (leaf-shaped steamed buns).

The downtown area was draped with orange lanterns and orange banners proclaiming the annual festival of costumes and candy, and millions of Star Army of Yamatai soldiers, mostly from the legions of the Rikugun (ground forces), were deployed in Kyoto and across the empire to hand out sweets while dressed in their black peacoats.

In accordance with the ancient custom of Halloween, people would dress in costume and receive bagfuls of treats like candy and cookies, and randomly selected prize items.

This year there were also pumpkin-carving stations, apple bobbing barrels, and other fall and Halloween-related stations set up by the local volunteers. When else could you get a hay ride through the streets of Kyoto?

Happy Halloween!

OOC: This is an open thread, feel free to RP a character dressing up and going out to get some candy. To give everyone a chance to participate, the thread is open for the rest of October, not just on Halloween itself.

For her first Halloween down on Yamatai, Sarena was dressed as a pineapple. The oblong costume was made of orange and red spiky hexagons, surrounding from her shoulders almost to her feet. Her hair was dyed green, and she wore a crown of leafy green spikes. It might have been more practical to wear a costume that let her use her arms and walk faster than a shuffle, but Sarena hadn't really been thinking about that. If only she could afford volumetrics! At least the suit had plenty of pockets to drop candy into.

Tan Ann Phan was out and about to deliver the sweets, having recently returned from Neplesia. Though she was wearing her uniform, and not truly a costume, she seemed to think she played the part well enough to pretend and upon spying Sarena, said in her best Transylvanian accent, "You're lucky that I'm not a fruit bat!" as she deployed candy into the pineapple's pouches.

Zoia wandered through the streets, curious as to what to do for a halloween costume. Apparently, she looked scary enough as it is... But it would seem that she needed to up her ante for this event. She was going to have to get even scarier... So she went into a costume shop, and bought the only thing in there that could possibly make her any scarier than she was. A gallon of fake theater blood. It was simple. All she needed to do, was look scary. What was scarier than a creature who could maim someone naturally, covered in blood, "attacking" people. She wouldn't hurt anyone, but she might send a few to the hospital.

She walked out of the store and down an ally. She placed the blood down on the floor and quickly did some stretches. She was going to try and have some fun with this one. Finishing, she opened the container and drenched herself in the thick, grotesque, liquid, shaking herself a little and looking at it run down her naked form. It clung nicely to her scales and contrasted really well with the white on her body. The black and the dark made it hard to see, but if she was ever in light she was sure it would show up just as well.

So now it was just time to find some victims. She looked around the buildings, hopping up and climbing up one of the walls. Better to get a 'drop' on someone to really scare them...

Watching the pineapple waddle away, Shayla nodded, content. They'd only lost one student so far, and she wasn't surprised that the alien had decided to wander off on her first field trip to the big city. Most of the others were already somewhat familiar with Kyoto, so hopefully they knew their way around and would mostly stick together. "Alright, darlings, have a good time out there. Try not to eat so much candy you get a cavity or somethin'!" The tall Neko barked a laugh, currently wearing one of her traditional alien fur bikinis (yellow with black stripes this time) as well as a stubby pair of horns poking out of her wild mane of hair.

"Your ride'll be waiting here to pick you up at Midnight, datcha~ Don't forget! Or you'll miss the bus and turn into a pumpkin...or watermelon or somethin', datcha~"

"COME ON GUYS LETS GET GOING! IF WE HIT THIS ENTIRE PLACE IN AN HOUR WE CAN STILL MAKE IT TO NEPLESLIA AND TAKE ALL OF VAN-BANNING'S CANDY!" Uso shouted.

The aspiring Tyrant had only just made landfall on Yamatai, and was waiting for the rest of the crew to join up.

She had dressed herself up as none other than Yui. A quick cosmetic change to her eye color, and a white paneled uniform was all she needed... of course, the insignias, medals, and design were all purposefully 'off' just so she couldn't get in trouble for impersonating an officer. Even the rank badge she had was made of a cheap plastic to avoid being accused of smuggling Zesu.

What is the Point?

Spacecase had come along merely to experience what the event was about. He wore no costume aside from his usual attire but still pulled a few stares of those trying to figure what he was dressed up as. "What's the objective of this again. This is my first Hallows Eve so you'll have to excuse me."

Tavigo was sauntering around dressed up as a hot dog which caused a few laughs at how ridiculous he looked in it. He was completely aware of this and was trying to look funny. "I'll go with ones who need partner so stick with me."

Ace was in the back dressed up as the Grim Reaper. He hid behind some bushes and would jump out at people passing by in an attempt to scare them. Aries was off projecting herself outside the Queen's Slave as a witch greeting those who came by. She had gathered a small group of children which she played with.

:: Kyoto Megacity, School Precinct #25 School 1 ::

Ringing of a buzzer echoed throughout the building and was heard by those passing by on the streets as if warning them to clear the area before the stampede of cooped up children. There was a few minutes of silence ...

Bam!

Doors slammed open as the sounds of relief, squeals of delight as children of all ages rushed from the building, like a dam bursting, children spread out in pairs, groups and singles to scatter into the Megacity with the excitement of being free and getting free candy and treats. Majority of the students were in costume for the day to get the earlier start of hitting up Star Army Checkpoints for treats and tricks and other Halloween pranks.

Horito, Kimutura, rushed out along with the rest of the children, her books were secured in her school locker as there was one rule on this day that no schoolbooks, or schoolwork was to leave the building, allowing the children a reprieve from chores of school for the night. She, along with a lot of others had worn their costumes to school to get an early jump in gathering treats and just having fun. Even a few scares along the way till it was time to head home. But for now, it was time for friends to gather and make their conquest to win the impromptu contest to see who could get the most treats before calling it quits.

Even though Kimutura wasn't as beautiful as some of the other girls her age, adapted her costume as a homeless person dressed in rags. All she had to do was mess up her finely styled hair into wind blown mop of hair, minus the hairpins and ribbons. From schoolgirl to homeless in a matter of seconds of the final prepping. She was ready!

And sallie forth they did into the wilds streets of Megacity, Kyoto...

Shiho smells free stuff:

The important thing to remember about Shiho would always be that she's cheap. And in the instance of this one day where you have to wear a costume, she was not about to drop a single Kikyo Satsu on a real costume. This was a day she was happy for volumetrics in her own body which could let her do her own makeup and clothing to a degree.

And so, the bulky neko stalked the streets tonight as the scariest thing she could imagine: Dead Nekos. Were she from a culture with a certain kind of folklore one might be willing to call her Nekostein. Volumetrics on, and projecting an image of corded pulsing veins pumping black ichor through her. Stitches where she appeared to be sewn together from different skin tones, and false cauterized gunshot wounds. Projecting an image of her own tattered uniform.

Her actual bulging musculature served to make her look plenty hulked out... Of course, while she was in a costume which would work well with a slow and lumbering gait, her actual trick or treating was spoiled by the sheer speed at which she moved. Hitting up one free handout after another, Shiho literally flew around the city, trying to maximize her handouts for the night.

Arccos thinks she's on a watch list:

As Uso's crew started to wander out, Arccos sat in the Queen's Slave patiently loading a shotgun. The only concession for the season was her wearing an oversized, and worn out sweater with a pumpkin stitched onto the chest, but more importantly: This was Yamatai. The heart of it. It wasn't so long ago that the people who ran this place were trying to coerce neighboring powers to hunt her down and throw her in the deepest darkest cell imaginable.

None the less, she was here.

"Hurry up, and get your candy!" She shouted to Uso and the others. "We need to get out of here before they catch on!"

At that, she stepped back on board. Heading towards a room with no windows and a single door for her to keep the shotgun trained on until the others returned.

High above Kyoto

A mecha detached from a nearby ship. The weapons removed beforehand so as not to upset the locals, it was holding something in its hand. Plummeting from the crisp autumn skies, the craft showed no sign of stopping as it neared the crowd below. Pulling up at the last moment and activating its counter-gravity engine, the behemoth slowed to a halt.

Appearing to then lie down in midair with its head propped up by one hand, the other hand then opened and what looked like a lanky teenage boy attached to strings fell to the ground. As the mechanical puppeteer's fingers twitched, the boy came to life, walking around and looking for someone he knew.

Kunio walked dressed to the nines in a formal suit and, in such a rare case, wasn't carrying his sword. It had been a while since he had been to Kyoto, and it showed ever-so-slightly in his face behind his smile. He walked with a small group of other students getting some sweets, but was not too much in getting anything. He was content with the sights to be seen, and in the bottom of his heart thought he might catch a glimpse of fright from someone, which was fulfilled as he looked around at some of the people jumping out and scaring people, which made him laugh ever so often.

On the Streets of Kyoto

Being among the legion of visitors and travelers not precisely familiar with Yamatai's baffling array of holidays, Mehitabel was surprised that this one was as simple as it seemed. Dress up, get free candy, have fun. Willing to spare a little thought and a few KS she had put together what the spritely Elysian imagined was a solid costume... It amounted to an old Type 30B uniform with orange chest panel, skirt, and tights. Her head was crowned with a pretty good set of cheap neko ears! Possibly offensive, no one had called her out on being a 'neko-valkyrie' yet...

She was getting a candy apple dropped in her treat bag when there was a loud rush, liking a flying neko-shaped brick hurtling to earth! Shrinking behind her spread wings, her hair fluttered and nearly blew away the fake cat-ears. When the dust cleared a frightening undead version of her favorite red neko was there with a fulsome bag of treats.

"A-Ah! Shiho-san!" she stammered, awed by the other woman's rapid entry, "Happy Hal-o-ween?"

Kyoto, Yamatai

Rei walked with her hands clasped behind her back, wearing the traditional off from the station and behind her came Wil and Sakaki. Around them, the city was alight with Halloween festivities. Children bobbed for apples in between hay bales and dipped cleaner, less bitten apples into caramel. Others were handed candies as they approached strangers to them while even more got their face decorated or partook in another some such activity.

Rei turned to them with a wry smile and said, "What do you both think?"

Wil exited the bus with his swords as usual, however unlike normal he was dressed up. It was Sakaki's idea, and he couldn't refuse when Sakaki came to his room with the costume. He was dressed up as SAINT agent for Halloween, complete with the Star Army uniform and black panels with a fake Mishhu parasite sticking out of his head. With her volumetrics, Sakaki had made herself to appear like a Nightmare Mishhu, as Tavigo had described to them on their first day of school. She had grown out tentacles coming from her back as the cat man had described just for today, looking like a less than perfect hybrid between Mishhu and Neko.

Wil looked around and nodded to Rei. "It is very beautiful." His face did not show it, as it normally never did. However, his eyes have away his awe at the sight. He looked to Sakaki. "What do you think Sakaki-sama?" He asked.

Sakaki looked to him and back to the festival and said, "I'd like to try to play that game." The game in question was a sharp shooter simulation, complete with service pistol-look alikes that were being shot by young and old, all aiming at pumpkin-shaped targets.

Wil looked to the game in question and back to Sakaki and nodded softly. "Sure lets... oh wait..." He stopped looking to Rei. "Um. Sensei. Can we go?" he asked being formal around Sakaki.

Rei nodded curtly and strolled towards the booth where the game was being held and to the booth's operator, issued a greeting before asking, "Can my students play?" The operator nodded emphatically and Sakaki looked to Wil with a bright-eyed smile.

He smiled back softly and picked up the service pistol. He took aim and fired...missing. He aimed again and fired again with the same result. He frowned slightly. "Hmm..." He mumbled. He tried again and finally hit one of them, thought it was most likely by luck. He placed the weapon down and looked to Sakaki. "Your turn." He said with a small encouraging smile.

"I'll take my chances," she said, taking the fake pistol into her hands. She aimed and fired at the target, missing by a few inches. She readjusted her aim and fired again, hitting the target. She fired again and again with the same line of fire and hit both consecutive times. She looked to Rei, who had closed her eyes while smiling widely after she had hit the target. She looked to Wil to see his reaction.

He smiled broadly at her. "Good job Sakaki-Sama." He said softly as she finished blowing the pumpkins apart. "Much better than I did. I am better with swords." He said shrugging.

"You are much better with swords," Sakaki said to him. "Especially better than me." The operator handed Sakaki an overflowing bag of candies and then separately, handed William a single lollipop, to which Sakaki replied, "Thank you."

"Come along," Rei said as she turned away from the booth and strode forward. They stopped to get candy from those that were dispersing it and soon, both of their bags had more than enough candy in them, though nowhere near full. "A good time for this?" Rei asked as she spotted a caricature artist and gave them a small amount of KS. The artist first did a picture of Wil and handed it to him. He was wielding his kendo swords, fighting an unknown assailant. Then he did a picture of Sakaki, sitting idly on a bridge with a sakura tree above her.

He then tried to move on to Rei, who put a hand up and waved it downwards and upwards a few times as she said, "Ie, ie." To her students, she asked, "Do you like your portraits?"

Sakaki nodded quietly, studying first hers, then William's again with a discerning eye.

William looked his over. "I like it. Thank you Sensei." He then walked over and looked at Sakaki's. "Your picture is very lovely Sakaki-Sama." He said with a soft smile.

"Thank you, William," Sakaki said, speaking to him as she looked over his portrait, then up at him, then back down. "You have finer eyes than the ones they gave you, though," Sakaki commented.

William looked at Sakaki, his cheeks turning red. "Oh...arigatou..." He said softly as he turned, trying to hide his blushing cheeks. He whispered. "I think that you are also very lovely as well." He said almost inaudibly.

In Yamataigo then Trade, she responded by saying, "Dōitashimashite, you're welcome."

"Are? What's that?" Rei commented, looking to a book shop. "Let's go in." The trio led themselves to the shop and Rei promptly sat down in a seat with a book and began reading. Sakaki led herself to a section on plant husbandry and picked up a few books on bonsai and sat down in the aisle to read them, while William moved and sat down next to her, reading his own book on the art of sword fighting.

He read through in silence then looked over to Sakaki and whispered. "What are you reading Sakaki-Sama?" He asked.

"O-oh?" Sakaki whispered, "It's a book on bonsai, William-sama. Have you ever studied bonsai?"

William shook his head. "Nope. I never have before..." He replied.

"Well," she said quietly, "it is very interesting to read up on and, maybe, I can show you how to trim and train trees back at the school. I have a few my mother gave me!"

William scooted closer and looked at the book. He then looked up at her and smiled softly. "I would really like that Sakaki-Sama." He said.

Sakaki nodded and the shorn pieces of her black hair just above her jaw line moved of their own accord as she did. "It would be very nice. William, do you like to do anything besides what they teach at school? Should we find you a book on something?"

William looked thoughtful. "Well, I don't know what else I like..." He said slightly embarrassed. "I only ever worked on my Kendo and Twin Dragon style." He looked back at Sakaki again. "I would be grateful if you would..." He waited a moment then added. "And call me Wil." He said softly.

Sakaki didn't know why, but the personal request made her want to cover her smile with her hand as she nodded at him, her eyes studying him as she did. "I think we should try having you read a manga or two..." she said, voice trailing off as she rose up and strode to the opposite end of the bookstore.

"Are?" Rei said more to herself than anyone as she noticed her students moving from one place to another and kept her ears pricked and eyes attentive on both the written words she was reading and her students.

"This one!" Sakaki said, pulling out a manga about a sword fighter, much like Rei or Wil, then pulled out another and another of the same sword fighter type, saying the same thing again and again as she did. She turned to Wil and put the three books into his hands. Then, she shuffled about the aisle until she was on the opposite end of it and pulled out a fourth manga, titled, "Love Lina."

Wil looked over the three mangas. He flipped through the pages of a few before watching Sakaki pull out another manga. Wil stood and walked over to find her holding the Love Lina manga. He blushed and looked away and began to flip through the first of the three mangas.

Sakaki sat down in the aisle and spread her long legs out as she tucked herself into reading "Love Lina." She got a quarter of the way through it, fully engrossed, when she noticed Wil staring at her. He was trying to hide it by looking over the edge of his manga. He did a poor job of it though. He looked away as they made eye contact and blushed as he continued to read.

Sakaki smiled at Wil and put down her book, back on the shelf, to where he was to ask, "Do you like any of the books I procured?"

William looked up at her and nodded. "They are very interesting." He said genuinely. "It seems like it is written about Mom... I mean Sensei Rei." He added.

"What?" Sakaki asked. "You said Rei... Was your mom?"

William nodded. "She is my adoptive mother... She took me in long after most children get adopted. I actually thought I would never have a family." He said to her, as he looked down at the mangas.

"I think..." Sakaki said as she sent an encrypted message to Rei, asking her if she had indeed adopted Wil. "I think I've never heard something so sweet before!" Sakaki replied as she got the encrypted message back from Rei, which was a terse hai, yes. She leaned forward and hugged Wil and breathed in, satisfied for him. "I am glad you found a mother!"

William, who hadn't been looking up, was surprised by the hug. He wrapped his arms around her and whispered. "Not only that. I have meet some amazing people too..." He said looking down at her.

Sakaki pressed her lips together as she heard him whisper to her and her first instinct was to nod emphatically. "Me too."

Rei sauntered over to the two after closing her book and putting it away, then said, "Time for more fun?"

William nodded and stood. As Rei turned around, Wil turned and offered an arm for her to take as they walked. "Let's go do some more fun stuff."

Sakaki took Wil's arm in her hands and walked with him as Rei led the way out of the book store. On their way out, a passerby bumped into Rei, saying, "Watch it!" before turning to notice who they had bumped into. Rei had her hand on her tsuba and the other was up defensively before she realized they were no threat to her or her students.

Wil's hand also reached down to his sword, until they had passed. "Forget them Sensei." He said softly. "Let's go have fun." He palmed the hilt of his sword and looked to Sakaki. He smiled softly. "What would you like to do Sakaki-Chan." He said playfully.

"Me?" Sakaki asked and looked to Rei, then back to William, "Well, that was pretty scary for a second there, are you alright, sensei?"

Rei gruffly nodded and looked to both of them with a lackluster look in her eyes. "Fights are never easy answers, but stem from easy questions all too much. Do like William, Sakaki, and make the hard choice to ignore those that are not threats."

"Were you going to ignore them, sensei?" Sakaki asked.

"They were no threat. Anyone that crosses your path and does not know you are there is not a threat."

"What do you want to do, sensei?" Sakaki asked after ruminating on that for a moment. The group had started walking towards the series of stalls they had come from before that marked the festival's entrance.

"I would like to see the two of you carve these..." she trailed off, then said, "strange ornamental fruits, are they?"

"You mean the pumpkins?" Sakaki asked.

"Hai!" Rei said tersely.

"We'll carve some, then!" Sakaki said as she went up to the stall Rei had been eyeing and picked out a large oblong orange gourd and wached as William did the same. He and Sakaki moved to sit as they carved their pumpkins.

William made very delicate cuts across the surface of the gourd. After awhile he finally said "Done!" He spun the pumpkin around to reveal a carving of the school's emblem. "What do you all think?" He asked.

Rei got off from the seat she had taken up and stepped forward to study the artwork on the gourd and admired it while saying softly, "Yoi, yoi..."

Sakaki looked over as she was elbow-deep in pumpkin innards and smiled excitedly at William as she said, "That's the school emblem, Wil! You knew that, though, when you made it, though, didn't you? It looks really good!"

William laughed softly. "Yes Sakaki, I knew it was the emblem." he chuckled. He looked over, and scooted close to her. "Do you need any help Sakaki-Chan?" he asked.

"I need tons of it!" Sakaki said as she unloaded globules of pumpkin seeds onto the newspaper underneath them. "I'm almost done emptying out the guts! And done," she said as she took out the last load. "Now, will you cut along the lines I've drawn?" Sakaki had drawn onto the pumpkin a purring cat face and she handed him a carving tool while she took one in her own hand

"Sure." He answered. He took the knife and cut across the lines cleanly. After several minutes he set the knife down. "How's that Sakaki-Chan?" he asked as he looked over at her.

Sakaki had done a poor job at the one eye she had been working on and was only slightly surprised that he had done such a wonderful job, until she realized and said, "It's because you're so good with swords, isn't it?"

He shrugged and picked up his knife again. He began cutting out the eye again on his side, and matched the eye to the one Sakaki made. "There you go." He said with a smile. "You did a great job Sakaki-Chan."

"Do you think we'll see any of our classmates?" Sakaki asked as she looked up from their carving to look around.

Walking around, and looking at the great mega-city with people swarming all around her, Sarena felt entertained enough not to worry about being unable to play any games, due to her bulky costume. She made sure not to get lost, though. Turning into a pumpkin or watermelon would be a terrible fate for a pineapple, the most regal of fruits.

Tan Ann moved on in the meanwhile, and overhearing the Spacecase's wonderings, she laughed. "The objective? Heh! Here, have some candy." She dropped him a few pieces, close enough that they'd bounce off of him if he didn't try to catch them.

As she passed William, she grinned at his costume, whispered 'Psst!', and pulled down her coat collar just enough for him to catch a glimpse of the black panels on her uniform underneath it. Just as briefly, she set her glasses to transparent, and gave him a deliberate cyber-eyed wink. She'd be transferring into her new role, soon, and this was her last chance to be a 'spook'!

From the bustle of the starport approached a member of the security with a letter in hand.
"Message for you Ma'am," he informed the Yui impersonator, Uso. Just as he placed the letter in her hand he turned and briskly walked back to the small crew of freighter under inspection.

Code:
Dear Uso

I believe we have a mutual friend. I would like to confirm this in person over dinner. I have booked penthouse 46 at The Kyoto Tower hotel. Please, wear something nice. I know it sounds cliché but it will actually save you a twenty minute security check and the obnoxious staring of ritzy folk.

A small stage was set up in an open space near the rest of the activities and games, within earshot of most of the students and other trick-or-treaters. A small, curious crowd had begun to gather, as the hum of speakers coming to life let people know something was about to happen.

Plasma pizza
Bobbing for brains
Blood balloon races
And other fun games

A jaunty, silly sounding song began, with lots of novelty instruments like organs and accordions mixed in, although they were obviously being synthetically created. It wasn't like the three Neko that bounced onto the stage were hiding any such instruments, wielding only a keytaur, space age saxophone and a pair of fancy drum sticks between them. One average sized Neko with fluffy pink hair, currently dressed up like a transforming jet robot, was handling the singing.

You're all invited
Fun starts at midnight
It's a monster party
Delight in the FRIGHT

Two Mini-Neko were orbiting around her, one banging on a circular arrangement of floating drum pads, while her partner with the mohawk handled the sax. The pint sized pair were dressed as some sort of drones or floating guns, that seemed to match the lead Neko's costume. The rather goofy song continued, as the crowd steadily increased in size, once people started to recognize the band past the goofy costumes and unfamiliar novelty song. Venus and the Avatars were putting on a free surprise show for the holiday!

It's a bash, it's a mash
You can dance, you can moan
At the monster party
Behind a tombstone

Junko checked the street signs, verifying her location. She'd done this twice in the last minute, it felt like. Checked the time, just to be on the safe side. Yes, this was the right time and place. No, she didn't have to worry, since she'd managed to show up early.

She checked her costume over, again. This year, her first Halloween, she'd be going as Nekoranger Blue. She'd had to check over the costume doubly, since it was really just a modified Type 22. Like the Yui she swore she saw earlier, though, the details were fudged enough to be distinct from the actual service uniform.

The hair was volumetric, though, if only because finding a good wig for this specific purpose had been a pain.

Ugh, she probably looked like a hot mess from the outside. Either that or so bland she could disappear in an open room. Had to throw on enough to look like something she barely resembled herself. If she was lucky, all she'd do is screw th-

No, no, no. You look fine, you've earned this happiness. Just a little nervous and you want... need her approval. Take a deep breath.

So she did.

Junko felt much better, once her heartbeat calmed back down.

Medic Tan Ann Pan was being observed from a distance. It was a traditional Yamatai ogre woman, complete with red skin, horns, a caveman-esk orange tiger-stripe shawl, and enough muscle to make it all work a little too well. They didn't blink nearly enough, and just stood there, hefting what looked like a genuine cast iron kanabo club.

Then they were gone...

No, wait, they weren't gone, they had flown right up alongside the Nepleslian woman as soon as they had turned around.

"Apologies for the inaccuracies in my costume, doctor." Tsuguka Toyoe didn't care about Halloween or sweets. She cared about meeting the uniform criteria. "It was difficult to track you down, because I thought you would be in costume also."

Still staring, her lime green eyes settled into their resting stance, which just happened to be an inhuman death glare. Club was slung over her shoulders now, giving Tan a gun show that wasn't really helping with the whole intimidation factor.

"Tell me, how would you rate the accuracy of your academic history?"

Freyja looked around for any Nekoranger Blues. She used holographic projections to make herself look similar to Nekoranger Red, which was based on Ketsurui Hanako. Her blue skin now appeared to be a pale tan, and her violet waves were replaced by straight, thick blue hair with green roots and violet tips. The long tail would be a dead giveaway, so she wrapped it around her waist. Green eyes were now golden. The main difference was her height and her curves, which were larger than the Captains.

She was wearing a modified Type 22, careful not to look too accurate to prevent anyone accusing her of impersonating an Officer. To complete the look, her NSP appeared to be gold. In reality, she left her NSP on the ship. It was only a hologram. Finally, she spotted Junko a street over. She felt a warmth all over her body. Something about seeing her in that outfit was making her heart beat faster. She imagined herself slowly undressing her, and.. Freyja almost ran right into an ogre. No, wait, it was Tsuguka! She almost did a double-take. Tsuguka-hei was dressed up? That woman clearly had many layers.

The squad leader seemed to be busy, so she pressed on, sneaking up behind Junko with a mischievous grin. She came up behind her and grabbed her waist, pulling the shorter Neko close. "Junko-chan, you look amazing. You'd look even better with nothing on." Freyja whispered in her ear. She gave Junko's neck a soft kiss and backed away. "If you're good you can expect more of that later." She teased. In her mind, Freyja was astonished at her own sudden boldness.

Double Speed!

The bulky Neko getting recognized caused Shiho to almost do a double take. Almost. Treading up to the candy dispenser in question, and opening up her already quite full bag, Shiho received her candy apple. Internally she was hoping for some other sort of prize. The prize bags were the best, as they'd last longer than her appetite. Still, nothing wrong with a candy apple that was free.

"Happy Halloween." Shiho said back to Mehitabel, sounding very slightly out of breath. "And I'm sorry for this but it's for your own good."

Shiho stepped up, almost confrontationally close to the Elysian clerk. Kneeling down a little to sweep one arm around her legs, the other scooping her up in the stereotypical 'princess carry'. It took a moment for Shiho to get a comfortable hold on someone with wings, but she was determined at this point.

"We get more prizes this way!" Shiho said, starting to sprint and gaining speed. Pressing hard with her gravity organ and starting to fly. Time was of the essence!

The Doctor is Out

Tan Ann Pan was gently handing out candy, roughly as she had been for the past few hours. Sometimes there were hiccups--someone forgot to bring a bag, and their costume had no pockets, or they were about their business with their hands stuck in what pockets they had, showing no interest in candy. That wasn't common, though, and when it occured--Tsuguka observed an incident of the 'no pockets' type, just as she was watching--Tan would juggle the candy while they tried to decide what to do with it, and let them take it or leave it, while providing directions that could help them have a better night.

When Tsuguka arrived, Tan didn't look too surprised. Part of it might have been the opaque black 'sunglasses' that concealed her eyes, though it also might have been that she didn't have much of a startle reflex. She paused to build a sonar map of Tsuguka, while listening, and chuckled. "No worries about that! I'm always in costume, but it's far better for my hide when it's not easy to see I am. You would seldom see me in uniform, if I was not about to join a crew..."

She paused again, this time to tap her glasses, which produced a camera flash, and gave her a snapshot of what she was looking at. "Ah, very good! Fierce. Nice club. Triple candy for you." She dug a whole handful out of her bag. "I'm on duty, right now, though not the usual kind. I usually give my expert advice during office hours, starting about twenty years ago and closing around ten. But, I'll assure you, my cosmetological aim is far more accurate than that of most Star Army medical personnel!"
