Elysia Space Dock

It was quite the day, after years of debate the Senate finally commissioned for the Panopteles-Class Explorer the YSS Anoiktos. Built to be the salvation of those who despised the Yamataians, the Elysian Government set the Anoiktos with a single mission.. Find new planets in the name of Yamatai and the future of the Elysians. Naturally With blessings from the Yamataian Government, the Elysians gathered up a crew and began making preparations.

♫ ~ Proud Nation ~ ♫

On that fine day the YSS Anoiktos found itself docked at the Elysian Space Dock hovering over New Elysia. The Explorer Class ship had been more than modified for a long term exploration and colonization mission having had its crew cabins made smaller, and its officer cabins smaller to support more rooms and people in general. On the side of the ship was the production number, the emblem which was a sun with two white wing like appendages around it, and beneath it was the name: Anoiktos. Currently it was going through final inspection by the docks crew, and maintenance was being checked upon.

Speaking of Crew, a rather large patrician woman with hip length red hair and beautifully clear violet eyes. She towered over the other races for the most part, and her wings were beautiful and white without any form of alternation towards them. She was wearing a uniform fitting of an officer of the Elysian Celestial Navy, and was wearing it rather proudly. This was the First Officer of the YSS Anoiktos, Charalampos Ambrosia, the Mother of War, the woman who killed a thousand Yamataians in the fourth Elysian war. So many titles, she was saw as an asset, and something important to this mission due to her skills and abilities.

YSS Anoiktos

The First Officer found her way up the gangplank and into the explorer-class ship's belly. She made sure to walk through and inspect every inch of it before the captain, Ambriel, arrived. She had heard quite a good deal about her Captain and her services to the Elysian Empire, and she was eager to meet the fellow Patrician. Of course it didn't show on her face, instead the calm zen serenity of a person at peace with themselves was shown on the older woman's face. After making her rounds she'd turn and head back to the gangplank leading up into the ship and stand there, at attention, awaiting the rest of the crew with a holo-list of who was supposed to be there and when.

Making her way towards the berth for the Anoiktos was a young Caelisolan. The brown winged woman looked to be in her mid-twenties and as she walked past the bustle and noise of the major Navy Port a scowl that had been on her face when she had first entered began to slip. The Navy had given (and refused to take no for answer) Bia Geromakhai two weeks (which she had managed to shave down to a week and a half through manipulation of the glorious system known to all as paperwork) of leave to celebrate her transfer of station from doing nothing at all protecting the immediate orbit of New Elysia to joining the crew of the Anoiktos.

So Bia had spent a blissful and awful period of eleven days with her loving family as they celebrated having their most venerable and eldest member back home from her never ending sense of duty.

Though looking down at the faded blue and white jumpsuit she was wearing and the short spurts of pristinely unworn cloth circling her wrists Bia couldn't help but be thankful that one of the little gits related to her had bothered to learn a proper level of needlework. Someone behind her called out and the Elysian pulled her head out of her memories to glare down the dock worker before deliberately taking an exaggerated amount of time repositioning the Star Army issue duffel slung over her left shoulder. Pulling her free hand out from the type 22 cargo pants she had belted over her jumpsuit the soldier gestured rudely behind her before moving on.

The dark haired Elysian let her booted feet take her the rest of the way to her destination and then stopped herself with what was most likley the stupidest little grin on her face. Before her was the first real new class of ship she had seen in quite a long time. The Anoiktos had all the right lines, the right attitude for the job it was fit to do. Roving her eyes along the expanse of the ship Bia caught sight of what was without a doubt a Proper Elysian Officer waiting for Her Crew, but the short enlisted woman simply allowed her eyes to pass the more imposing woman on by as she let herself take in the ship.

A woman walked into the dry dock, though she did not have a rank of merit, nor was she doing anything especially impressive many of the workers kept their gazes on her for an extended period. This woman was a Caelisolan with brown hair the flowed down her back. However something was different about her, she did not look like the typical Elysian, her frame was much wider, even more so than a typical Neko or Minkan in fact her figure generally would be associated with that of a Nepleslian, possibly a mother. The curvy woman made her way through the dry dock, waving at anyone who she noticed looking at her, just having a good time herself.

She had just been transferred from her last ship to the Anoiktos and was coming back from a bit of shore leave that she had spent with her family so she was in a great mood and ready to work. There was just one thing she considered a problem, she was wearing a type 35 duty uniform and with it's snug fit, the green science panel looked like it was ready to burst at any time form the pressure her bust was applying too it. She would just have to deal with this however until proper boarding ceremonies were over, then she could change into the much more comfortable and less obvious type 30C uniform she had procured just for such occasions.

After a moment of looking around and asking people for directions the curvy Caelisolan made her way towards the Anoiktos. Noticing an officer and an enlisted soldier standing beside the ship she made her way over a bit quicker wondering if she was possibly the only one who had not arrived yet, that was the last thing she wanted. Whens he reached the officer she gave a proper salute and waited to be spoken to.

Floating above the gangplank was a Patrician, their wings flapping in the air to keep them aloft. "Interesting," was all he said as he continued to float there; he watched a few of the ships crew - or what he perceived as the crew - as they boarded and floated down to the deck where his wings flapped a few times by themselves before folding up. "Its always so nice to fly around, much more natural than the Yam's anti-grav crud," the Elysian remarked and unfolded one wing to check a feather that he'd noticed was loose, with a grumble he plucked the feather and winced then looked it over before stuffing it into a pocket of his uniform.

Cintanisa Frasna was a Patrician, a member of the Elysians elite; although if you were to ask him he wouldn't really consider himself elite - at least not right this minute anyway. The soldier stretched his wings for a second time before folding them back up and walking up the gangplank toward the ships entrance, after so many years of being stuck behind a desk he was finally about to go aboard a ship and possibly help his people find themselves a new home.

Elysia Space Dock, YSS Anoiktos

As the many military members of the ships' crew filed towards the gangplank of the Explorer class ship, there appeared among their number someone a little different than the rest, and perhaps strikingly so. The obviously civilian Caelisolan woman making her way forward through the crowd stood out in the way a rare crystal would appear in a sifter full of boring pebbles, with her reddish, shoulder-length curly hair and beautiful wings with similarly orange tips that extended from her slender back. She wore a surprising amount of jewelry too that caught the eye for this special occasion, matching only her own pair of irises that shined like emeralds of intelligence in her round, youthful face. Everything about how she moved and appeared exemplified the rebirth of Elysia that was occurring this historical day, as the old generation was ready to be embraced by the new energy of people like her. They were the future of the nation.

The sharp minded Shamshiel paused a moment in her dramatic entrance on the scene, carrying a small bag with her personal items inside of it. She then looked behind her briefly with a mild grimace of impatience. Following some distance behind was what at first glance appeared to be a hovering mini-Nekovalkyrja, with green hair in a bun and a Yamataiian uniform on. This gave some bystanders great pause -- wasn't this supposed to be an Elysian ship only? It was then that they noticed the robotic arm extending down from what was obviously just a clever holographic projection of a FARS personal assistant drone, which happened to be carrying a large crate of personal gear and other effects -- which it was doing quite laboriously, enough to slow it down from its normal top antigravity speed. The projection was even cutely sweating and puffing a bit to emulate the exertion visually. "Come on Beryl, we are going to be late. Can't you go any faster?" chided Shamshiel to her drone assistant, to which it replied in a synthetic, bubbly emoticon voice. "S-sorry, Sham-sama! I'm giving it all I've got, but you always travel so heavy!"The Elysian hmphed a moment and said decisively, "A big project like this requires an equally big set of tools. Now be careful with my precious crystals in there, you're going to hit something and crack them!"

The scientist ran a hand through her hair once then looked back to her destination, the YSS Anoiktos, with a smile and began walking once more towards the gangplank. The sight of the Patricians tall figures only made her more sure that this was really happening. Not a dream, but a reality, if only her mother could see her now...

As people made their way around the Elysia Space Dock there was one Caelisolans who looked slightly different, not because he stood out of the crowd but because he had a necklace on that looked more for a woman. Samandriel made his way past the stares and mummers as he pasted them, he hide the necklace in his uniform to stop the stares "Why couldn't she was got a unisex necklace.... oh that's right I wasn't a guy when she gave it to me."

The Anoiktos in sight he grinned and made is way faster there happy to get onto the ship, he saw the Patrician standing on the gangplank and walked to her saluting and gulped "Semiai Samandriel Zarall" he paused and sighed "or the record my name may still be Araquiel Zarall."

Char stares each new arrival down with a glare that could pierce the veil of the heavens themselves, she judged each one the moment she saw them. A large hipped homebody, A patrician engineer, An old witch far past her age limit for duty but still here thanks to having a young body, a transgendered male, and a civilian doctor, and no bloody captain. The captain of all fucking people was late, and this annoyed Char a great deal. However she checked off each name they announced and looked amongst them, she seemed to be the intimidating, and angry type as she had a scowl on her face of disappointment. "WELL, Seems like we have a crew of maggots here. From now on, you will be called Maggots, Maggots until you prove that you're worth anything more than the name maggots, I don't care what your name is or your past history, or gender identity, or status as a civilian or soldier... What I care about are bloody fucking results!" She all but yells at them with this statement. She turns as her wings wrap around her lightly. "If any of you fail to hold up to my expectations, you better believe you'll fail to uphold to the captains expectations, and you will be off this ship at the next space dock faster than you could suckle on your moms tit when you were a young babe."

She takes a few steps forward placing her hands behind her back before turning back around and looking at them, eyes studying each one again. "You all have fifteen minuets to claim a room here on this ship, and make it presentable for inspection. If you fail to pass with FLYING colors on your inspection you will be thrown to the curb and insured that you won't ever live up to the hopes and dreams you all desired to fulfill. FIFTEEN MINUETS, Maggots! Starting as soon as you are dismissed. Do you all understand the words that have come out of my mouth?" She stares them down as she stomps her foot, long red hair waving behind her wings.

The litany of unsensical abuse dryly blowing forth from the somewhat nonsensically angry officer standing before the gathered crew had an almost balming effect on Bia. The Caelisolan, with years worth of practice berming up the effort, was able to keep what would without a doubt be a stupid grin from appearing on her face in the face of such a level of frustrated bluff winding its way out of a Patrician in a manner the old soldier hadn't gotten to experience in years.

Of course it used to be both bluff and cuff, but eying the long-haired, agitated ball of authority setting her dominance before the group Bia was sure beyond doubt that Char would have 'fists' written simply and boldly at the top of her mental methods of command.

As their dressing down passed without anything really interesting managing to come out of it Semeai Geromakhai slung her duffel back over her shoulder with a hop-to-it attitude. Scanning her eyes across the rest of the crew the short haired Elysian let her eyes slide towards the entrance to the ship before skipping back towards her target.

It wasn't everyday that an old dog got to entertain a new trick after all.

Bia kept her head down as she swiftly made her way over to one Mihral Lekos. Letting her boots clack against the floor as she came to a stop and mastering the grin on her face into a wan smile Bia briefly looked up before bobbing back down into a short bow.

As the Caelisolan straightened her posture her face abruptly bounced back to the neutral spectrum as Bia let her eyes drift in the direction Char had last been before she had turned her on the officer. “Ah. Semeai Lekos-” Bia let her face fall into a brief frown – the dark black line tattooed across the left side of her face binding with her expression – and then bounced it back up to what must seem an awkward mask. “-this, ah, this maggot would be pleased to assist a senior in preparing for our imminent inspection!”

As she finished speaking the young-looking Caelisolan's eyes slipped from the face of the woman opposite her and locked onto the other Elysian's duffel.

Samandriel listened to the angry lady and sighed, he had dealt with people like this before, mostly his family and a few people at training, he really had enough of it but know saying something would cause him to lose valuable parts of his body. So he just stood there and nodded to the angry lady listening to the yelling "Yes Ma'am" he saluted then picked up his bag "have you dismissed us now or were you going to do that when you calmed down Ma'am."

He looked over the others then back to angry higher up and smiled "because you have seemed to made your impacted here, on all of us" he looked straight at the Patrician, knowing he would probably be disciplined now he looked at the entrance of the ship "after I get a room and make it presentable, should I come back so you can yell at me more?"

Char extended her hand. "You all are dismissed." Then slowly points towards Samandriel. "Except you, Maggot." She moves over and leans forward staring the smaller, and younger Elysian, right in the eyes. "So you think you're funny, do you? Yes, lets get a good laugh out of assuming the XO is angry, and then make a sarcastic remark towards her... Your disrespect dishonors you and the woman you came out of. I think discipline is in order, yes, quite." She stood straight and tapped her chin for a moment before eying down towards the man again. "Alright, Maggot. Since you -love- telling jokes, how about I give it a go... What did the pathetic Caelisolan do when he angered the XO?" She stopped for a moment and then grins, serenely, but despite that serene look on her face it was obviously rather sadistic. "He recleaned every bathroom on this godforsaken ship with his toothbrush." She turned and waved him off. "You are dismissed."

Shamshiel had just arrived, excited and raring to go into space on the wings of an angel... and then Charalampros, presumably the XO by her rank pin, promptly launches into a tirade about how she was now the lowliest scum of the earth. The red haired scientist made no effort to hide her relative disgust as being talked to in such a way, all of the performance designed to command respect instead reminding her of why she so disliked the military way of life. It had taken a lot of her family away from her too, so it made it even harder to stomach. But, considering the mission was dominated by the Elysian Celestial Navy she had no choice but to try to control her temper.

"With all due respect to you, lady of war Ambrosia, there are better ways to motivate your troops than demoralizing them right off the bat. You will catch a lot more flies with honey than with vinegar, after all.," quipped the civilian Caesolian as she hurried her pace past the imposing Duplicarii and into the ship. Despite her wise words showing a degree of protest, she did however comply with the orders as they did come from a Patrician in the end and did not want to test the woman overmuch, seeing she was very serious about her duties of command. Besides, she was indeed eager to claim a room and secure her belongings before Beryl damaged them in transport.

Mihral had been on a few ships in her career as a soldier, and while it wasn't Yamatain style to be so imposing at the start, she had heard about such things, so such a display did not bother her or at least she did not show any signs of such. The woman did not get to the position she was and her age by being bothered by every little display of authority someone made. She did find cleaning the rooms to be a bit unnecessary though they would not be likely to receive a room inspection by anyone outside the crew before they depart.

As she was about to pick up her bags however, one of the other crew came to speak with her. She did not know her name yet, thought eh screw was small she had neglected looking into the crew, she only recalled bits and pieces. "Well I wouldn't mind assistance, but are you sure you will be able to finish your room in time?"

Though her attention was on Bia, she couldn't help but hear what was transpiring with the XO and another soldier, it was easy to tell that he was a new soldier and probably used to living more in a more Yamatain style, since he was speaking up to not only a superior officer but a Patrician. There had been an increase in equality, but the two breeds were not equal yet. Of course the expected response was given as well by the XO.

As the civilian scientist spoke up though, Mihral muttered under her breath "This is going to be a long mission for those two."

The last member of the crew, a slim, tall Patrician woman with light hair and lighter skin approached the group from behind, a pensive expression on her face as she approached the group. She'd only barely caught the very end of whatever was going on between... well, it looked like only two people, but it didn't help matters that nearly everyone was just standing around watching it. She twitched her uniform a bit, making sure it was all straight before approaching the group, hands clasped behind her back just underneath her wings. "Ladies, gentlemen, is there a reason you are all standing around arguing in front of my ship, where the world can see, instead of getting settled in preparation for the mission?"

Cintanisa had kept himself quiet, although it was a rather big change hearing the words of a fellow Elysian giving orders rather than a wing-less one doing it; thus it bothered him very little, at least here the Elysian most likely -earned- his rank, unlike others. With a nod of the head the Elysian had boarded the ship, though his ears flickered slightly when he heard the ships captain barking outside; but he really paid it very little mind with only a sigh to really give any indication he might've heard anything - or maybe he was just tired? Frustrated? Who knew.

He found himself a cabin and quickly stowed his gear within it, finding a bunk that would suit his needs rather nicely before making his way to the ships bridge.

Char took a moment to stare down the transgendered male before sending him on his way, successfully shutting him up. She turned and looked seeing the captain approach she couldn't help but let out a sigh. Finally, I thought she wasn't going to show up... She gave her the Elysian Salute before speaking up. "The Maggots seem to be under the impression that they don't need to follow orders... Im required to teach them otherwise. Its good to have you aboard captain." Despite that, Chintanisa had done exactly as she had requested, which made her happy, cause at least one of her group knew exactly what to do... Then again, what could you expect from Caelisolan's, they were just one step from Plebian and while they had been given more freedom they still needed the guidance of the far superior Patricians to help them along their way. Thankfully, she had more than just Caelisolan's to deal with, the captain was a Patrician, and so was Chintanisa, which meant at least some people would know their place. "Captain, The crew will have their rooms prepared and in order in 15 minuets for inspection before launch." She stated.

Bia grabbed Mihral's baggage and slung it back next to her own before looking over to where one Elysian Maggot, male had just gotten off easy for the attitude he was swinging around. As she listened to the older Caelisolan's predictions on how Samandriel and his civilian knight-in-shining would fare Bia cracked a wicked smile across her face.

“If'n I had to had gone through the Second with a fella like that I can tell yah the trip wouldn't have been a long one fer 'em.” The old soldier shook her head ruefully despite the mirth clearly showing in her eyes. “From the tip of a warblade ta' tha' ground never is really.”

Bia chuckled and then trailed off into a few more mutters that only managed to convey the fact that the short Elysian found the whole day to be turning out rather splendidly.

When another Patrician showed up and starting asking questions about her ship Bia scooted closer to Mihral and flashed a grin that was much more in line with the innocent act the old Elysian had been pulling earlier.

“Lead us on in Semeai Lekos an' maybe tha' pair of us can show off a thing or two about actin' right in situations of seniority, hmm?”

Mihral gave a slight smirk at Bia's comment about stabbing, but tried to keep it hidden. "It's not right to say that, they're still valuable Elysian citizens." However when the captain showed up she straightened up once more and quickly got rid of the smirk.

"Apologies, Ma'am, we will be on our way." She had no intention of idling about in the first place, she had just been caught ta bit off guard. So she began to move with Bia in tow, resisting the urge to grab her own bag, she did not want to come off as rude to a shipmate.

"By the way, I am Mihral Lekos, but it looks like you know that. What is your name?" She spoke to Bia as they began to walk.

Ambriel blinked a bit at the seeming non-answer to the important part of her question, but decided it wasn't worth commenting on just yet, before they'd even gotten settled in. "Well, we'll deal with disciple issues shortly, once we have everyone settled into the ship. While I'm not under the impression our mission is time-sensitive, per se, I'd like to get underway as soon as possible. I trust you'll have no issues with handling discipline while we're underway instead?" She gestured pointedly for everyone to hurry up and make their way into the ship, clearly done with this conversation, and not really expecting an answer to the final question.

Samandriel sighed when the woman left from in front of her, he wasn't trying to be funny he was just speaking his mind but decided not to speak out again "Yes Ma'am I will do that" he walked onto the ship and made his way to a room that he liked the look of ignoring the talk of the ones behind him. He packed away his things and made his area presentable to the Captain, he kept his toothbrush out knowing what would happen after the prep time, this just gave him more time to prepare for the washing of the bathroom.

The fiery-haired Shamshiel hurried along the corridors of the Anoiktos, giving herself a little unguided tour of the ship on the way to her quarters, her drone assistant in constant hovering step behind her. It was a lot different than ships she had been on before, having mostly been on Yamataian transports and science crafts going from place to place. This was clearly a military vessel, and well put together piece of machinery too. It pleased her to see a purely Elysian aesthetic featured throughout.

The rooms were indeed in military style too, all the same, and by her standards a bit cramped. She of course had been used to Plebian homes and college dorms before, so space restrictions were not an alien concept to the Ceasolian. Of course, in recent times she had been spreading her wings in this area. She gave a bit of a sigh, and then got to contemplating how to best enhance the spartan accommodations. "Set that down over there, if you would, dear," commanded the scientist to Beryl, as the little AI gave a relieved projection to finally set the burden of luggage in a corner. The white-robed Elysian then began to painstakingly unpack each of several colorful natural crystals, inspecting them for damage and placed them lovingly at key locations throughout the living space. Before long the drab cabin was turned into something more like a natural cavern, as splashes of bright colors seemed to make the tiny space into something much more than it was... vibrant and alive.

Pausing to admire her handiwork, Shamshiel had now almost completely forgotten about the angry Patrician on the gangplank and once again felt refreshed and revitalized. She wouldn't let such things get her down, as there was untold opportunities just around the corner. "Well, if Lady Ambrosia says I am going to be a worm," mused she aloud to her assistant, as she began to setup her little vanity and jewellery box on the tiny desk provided, along with preparing a space for her scientific equipment and attachments for Beryl. "I will at least have a very impressive little cave."
