RP: YSS Anoiktos Verse 0.0 - Spreading your wings

Char saluted her captain and nodded. "Yes Ma'am, I shall depart immediately to ensure everyone is prepared for departure." With that she turned and left her captains sight, the large Patrician moved into the ship and deeper into the bowels, heading towards the rooms. Where she started with room one. She stopped at the door and looked at her pad before noting that Araquiel "Samandriel" Zarall had chosen the first cabin. She took a deep breath and sighed ever so slightly, she had really no interest in dealing with this man again.

However, she opened the door and moved inside the room. "Inspection. Captain wants us to move as quickly as possible and get this ship launched. So feel lucky Santo Hei; Your punishment is postponed for now." She said as she eye'd around the room curious as to what had been done in the short amount of time he had to do it.

Samandriel saluted to Char and stood there "Yes Ma'am, thank you Ma'am" he bowed and looked down "I am deeply sorry for earlier." His room was perfectly made, his clothes folded and packed away, his other things set up neatly, the toothbrush on the side "I left out my toothbrush as I was preparing to clean the bathrooms Ma'am" he still was looking down and sighed "Living with a family full of service men and women has made my packing quick and precise."

Mihral had made her way to cabin 3 and unpacked her things quickly. She did not have a lot of luggage with her, after all she'd already spent a few years on ships so she knew what she needed and what was just extra luggage with no use. Her room was already tidy, but tidy wasn't enough for inspection so she began to bust and clean up to make sure everything was spotless and that the linens were prestine, the clothes perfectly folded, and the floor spotless.

Char nodded a bit and looked around the room. "Color me impressed boy. You've done a really nice job here. Once we get taken off you may begin your punishment, for now just get settled in and get used to your station." She checks Sammy off of her list and moves on to Room 2 which housed the head engineer; Cintanisa Frasna. She didn't know much about Cintanisa, but she hoped being of higher rank he'd go through his room in a breeze. She stepped in and was taken lifted in spirits to find that he had done exactly what he had supposed to. After a moment of talking, Char marked him off of her list and moved on to the third room. She knocked on the door and stepped in looking around and then to Mihral. "Hm, impressive. I didn't expect you to do as well as this Buffalo Butt." She nodded a bit. "Very good job, though since you're a mother I suppose that is not -to- surprising eh?"

Mihral gave a salute when Char entered her cabin, letting her inspect the place freely. She was nothing spectacular, but she had a measure of confidence in her housekeeping. "Duplicari, I do not think it would be wide to let the crew know that you spend your time looking at the backsides of buffalo to make comparisons about them." While she was not going to start trouble, she was not the kind of woman to let her figure and her house work be insulted.

Char stared at her a moment before laughing at that, this woman had some balls, and she liked it! She didn't normally like being talked back to, or insinuated about like that. However, with Mihral it almost came so unnaturally based on her looks that Char couldn't help but find it completely hilarious. "Hahahahaha! Wonderful...Just...Just wonderful Alright. You did great, you can go to your station." She turns and walks out.

Crew Cabins > Crew Cabin 4

Char was still laughing as she exited the 3rd cabin. She took a deep breath and regained her composure before opening the door to Shamshiel's Cabin. "Inspection!" The Officer called out before looking around the room pausing a moment. "Color me impressed Civvie. For a Civilian you are pretty good at this."

Crew Cabin 4

When Char came in, Shamshiel had just finished on her unpacking right on schedule and the jewel-bedecked Caesolian civilian now stood respectfully in the center of her handiwork and gave a small bow which her orange tipped wings followed gracefully. She was keenly aware of the mood shift in the first officer, and immediately assumed the decor had something to do with it (having not known about the good laugh she had prior to arriving).

"Why thank you for the compliment, Duplicarii," began Shamshiel with a warm smile and a higher degree of respect than before, "I have traveled and worked in space before, but that doesn't mean it has to feel so cramped and dismal. Adding color and light to the right corners can turn a drab living quarters into an oasis of positive energy that renews the hopefulness that springs within for us as Elysians." She waved a hand at the twinkling crystals more like an artist than a scientist, the light reflected in them indeed making the place seem larger than it was.

"If you are ever stressed from your duties, you are always welcomed to stop by and relax awhile. I'll even have a fresh loaf of psomi waiting for you... I'm quite the cook, too, having fed a large family for many years." Char could see she likely was telling the truth... nestled amongst a neatly arranged bookshelf of earth science reference materials was a very old fashioned cookbook. It had obviously been well used and had numerous little tabs sticking out of it.

Meanwhile, her FARS drone Beryl was doing a crisp mini-Neko holographic salute in a corner as it awaited some maintenance from her owner. "Officer on deck!" the audio driver intoned in what amounted to a parody of the SAOY's regulations that in some ways still hung over them.

Crew Cabin 4

Char was impressed with the room, it reminded her of one of the women she used to serve with back in the wars, she always had an impeccable sense of style and it always impressed her. "...I used to know an Elysian back in the fourth Elysian war who knew decoration, and she always colored me impressed with how she could make even the most drab of locals look homely. It is refreshing to see the same in this assignment." She then looked at the woman standing before her as she offered to help her relax at any time, or have a fresh loaf of Psomi. She seemed impressed at the complete 360 she did towards her, she nodded again. "I'll keep that in mind." She says with a slight smile then writes 'Passed' on the pad she had before looking at Beryl for a moment and then shook her head and looks at Sham once more. "You have passed inspection, go ahead and head to your assignment, I have one more room than we are going to take off." She gave an Elysian Salute before turning and heading out before heading towards Cabin 5.

Crew Cabin 4 > Crew Cabin 5 > Bridge

Char headed into the final cabin which belonged to the oldest living Elysian she knew of. She checked over everything and nodded to herself giving Bia the seal of approval and heading back to the bridge. Once there she looks at the captain and let off a little smirk. "Everyone has passed inspection we are ready to take off, Prefectii." She gave a salute. Ambriel nodded slightly before leaning back in the chair turning on the intercoms which caused the ship to become filled by her voice. "Attention all crew members of the Anoiktos. This is Shosho Ambriel Cinna. As of this moment we are starting on our mission, all crew members prepare for the maiden voyage of the YSS Anoiktos." With that she turns off the intercom and gives a nod towards the pilots who start the ship and off they go.

Once she had returned the salute of Char after a smooth inspection of her brightly colored domicile, Shamshiel shifted her attention to her assigned duties here aboard the ship. Though in the past she had worked on pieces of fixed equipment in space stations and stellar mining installations primarily on Veritas, it seemed as if the authorities in charge of the mission has believed in her enough to throw a hefty challenge her way -- for on the manifest it apparently said she was to be on the Engineering staff. This was quite an undertaking, but considering she was non-military personnel it was probably also the safest place for her to be, immersed in her natural environment. The rest of the team could worry about all of those other things that didn't involve mineral analysis or engineering, or shooting at those foolish enough to harry them in their mission.

The fiery-haired Elysian changed quickly out of her formal wear and into a thicker, white and blue jumpsuit that was more protective and durable, and completed the modifications to her FARS drone's hardpoints that included adding two light duty arms, a thermographic imaging unit, and a first aid package... all of these would to assist her with the unique maintenance requirements of the ship's systems. Beryl seemed quite happy to have gotten the upgrades too, the mini-Neko hologram swiveling around happily and floating along after her master with an eager "Ready for duty, Sham-sama!" It was certainly better than being on cargo duty. "More arms means more work, dear. Now come come, it is almost launch time...!" urged the Elysian as she grabbed one last orange crystal from her crate and the rest of her own personal equipment, including the holster of her Pestris pistol, and made way to the rear of the vessel.

Engineering

As the announcement came over the loudspeaker that the maiden voyage was about to begin, Shamshiel was in a flurry of activity belowdecks to get the Anoiktos ready to get underway. This was made doubly difficult considering she had to learn a lot of things on the fly, and from the main control console she launched many requests to Mnemosyne to grow fresh data displays in front of her, filled with breakdowns of the ship's power systems that she went through as a checklist. She also had one displaying what her drone assistant Beryl's cameras saw, using its two duty arms to conduct inspections and prepare things remotely, the thermographic unit allowing for deeper penetration and analysis of the flow of power through the ship's veins. The Elysian was if nothing else very efficient at getting technology to do her dirty work for her. Floating as she was with her wings outstretched in low g, she seemed like an angelic conductor of a grand symphony building to crescendo as the ship was roused to awaken from its long slumber.

"Engineering reporting in," began Shamshiel telepathically with a definite note of adrenaline as she multi-tasked, "Apologies for the delays, Prefectii, bit of a learning curve for me down here. Ship vital signs are strong and power levels are now rising steadily as we come out of long term standby. The auxiliary engines are active and the main CFS system will be fully operational momentarily." She grimaced a little bit that they had to rely on a Yamtaian design for FTL travel, but it couldn't be helped.

Bridge

Mihral made her way to the bridge after the inspection of her room, her pace was a bit casual and easy going, in no real rush to get there. She sat herself down at the science station. This would be the first time she was manning the bridge of a ship, but it was not as if it was an unknown concept to her either, she had spent time learning how to do such even before she was given this assignment. However there was only so much to do before launch at the station, she decided to test the sensors and scan the hangar itself, making sure everything was calibrated properly and giving back results within acceptable levels.
