We Miss Immortal Cyan

I think the title sums it up quite well.

Immortal Cyan made a mistake, and staff was well within its right to ban her; that much is clear, and this isn't to debate the ban at all. Rather, this is about the fact that that she was an active member of the community that contributed to the site. She was a good friend to a lot of us, and RP'd actively, adding to the setting and lore of SARP. We don't want her to be permanently gone from the site, because her absence is constantly being felt by many of us across multiple plots and factions.

In other words, we miss our friend and are asking for leniency.

I too have felt her absence, and have been greatly saddened by the loss of character building roleplay of a friend. I ask for leniency, please hear us out. In almost every plot I have joined in my short time here, I have seen a ripple from her absence. So many GMs at a loss at what to do with characters lacking their player. She may have done wrong, but we love and forgive her, please reconsider.

Like Noodle, I haven't had much experience with Immortal. My only interaction has been with her in Sukan and I rather liked how her character reacted to the situation and how she reacted to my character Lawrence, in the midst of his transformation. It made me want to rp with her more but I never managed to as I am always scarred with approaching others for it. Even more so with the players who are very helpful to the site and are high up.

I know I'm not giving much reason but I'd like her back. I would like to be able to try and rp with her, to do something more with her than a reaction, have a thread of sorts.

Immortal Cyan was one of the first people I roleplayed with on this site in the Fort Hajime plot. It wasn't too much, but... it was just enough to get me to learn what it's like to be a member of SARP. It made me feel like a part of this small community within the forum itself and not just in the Discord chat. I wasn't just a training-wheels roleplayer anymore, I was beginning to be something official.

If it hadn't been for Immortal, I don't think I would have stayed like I did. And yes, I know I'm not that significant of a player on this site. All I've contributed is a tin can and a guy who needs a haircut, but this site has come to mean a lot to me within the past few months regardless of that. I don't care about my significance, I just care about this experience.

And without Immortal, I don't think I would have had the nerve to have said experience.

Through the art, the community, the storytelling, etc., I feel like I've made more friends here within the past two months than I have in the past two years of college. People I can talk to and spend time with. A major portion of the credit does go to Immortal because the roleplay with her and Ame opened me up to trying out roleplays with everybody else.

She deserves a second chance. I've seen what she's done not only for me, but the rest of the site. She was a devoted player who spent time, effort, and money to make her character exactly how she wanted them to be and then reached them out to us to witness how her creations react to this world we all built and are still building.

All I can say is that SARP needs it's star role players out there every day doing what they do best to make this the award-winning place that it is. Immortal was one of those rare shining lights that enriched the site and its community as a whole, and with them remaining benched the place is sadly much the lesser for it...

As a fairly new player I have been able in such a short time see such a strong community. It fights like hell and that is to be expected when you have people with such a passion.

Immortal was one of the first people who helped me get settled when I came to SARP. Recently some OOC events has led to Immortal no longer being a part of the site.

I ask for Immortal to be brought back. Immortal gave so much to the site and the people on it that it would be a shame for a lapse of judgement to hold them forever banned.

Mistakes are something we learn from, and I personally feel that a permenant ban from a relatively great community that I've seen in the past few days I've been here is a little too much. I don't know Immortal... hell, I don't know many of the folks here that well, but I do know that some people use roleplaying as a means to escape - we all do, it's why we're here - and if they're devoted members of a community, being torn away from that past time can be nerve racking. I've been on that side, and I've learned from my mistakes.

I was briefly filled in on what happened, and while wrong... I believe a point was made. A few days or a week away from the board would be more appropriate for a first time offense.

I'm going to keep mine a little short and sweet.

I miss her, a lot. We are all human and we all make mistakes and it's up to us to learn from them. Immortal was a person I really did enjoy RPing with as her style of writing kept me engaged in what was happening. Even if she wrote everything out in Times New Roman and stood out from the rest, she always RPed her characters right and uniquely. I do wish she could come back.

That is certainly an impressive outpouring of support.

Please know that the site's staff has taken note of your appeal and that we will take it into consideration along with the evidence we've already gathered.

We will deliberate on the matter. Until then, I am locking this thread. As the site rules indicates, discussing moderation in public is usually a no-no (though I'm aware the spirit of this thread is non-confrontative and meant in the best way possible) and as I believe you've already made your point, I am locking this thread for the time being.

Be aware that if Immortal Cyan's ban is reduced, the breach of the site's Terms of Service still rates her ban at a 1-month minimum. If our rules are adhered to, that means her return would happen - at the soonest - on January 5th 2018.
