I thought we should have a seperate thread for Wiki-related stuff, rather than using the Meeting Topics thread. Perhaps even a sub-forum in the future?

Anyways, some questions:

Do racial governments and militiaries (ie, the Abwerhan Empire and Abwehran Imperial Weltraumflotte, or the YSE and SAoY) count as 'Notable Organizations' or should all predominantly monospecies organizations go under their respective Species' descriptions?

Should we restrict the 'Notable Characters' only to important historical figures? A potential problem might be players copy-and-pasting their character bio in there in an attempt to boost their fame...

On another note: How can we have astrological signs, if the months and whatnot are different?

Yet another note: Yamataians are their own species; NH-22C are outdated and no longer produced.
 
I thought Yamataians were 22C, and 22M was the outdated 22...

As for astrological signs, some parallel must exist, because of the Scorpio-class stations and the fact that Hanako's bio clearly lists her sign as Gemini.
 
Do not create pages in the Wiki that have no information in them.

Example: "Placeholder" "Under construction"

When you do that, it is misleading - people click on a link expecting information, and instead they find nothing.

There's no excuse for not putting at least a sentence or two describing something.

Edit: Also, please keep things in alphabetical order when adding to an alphabetized list.
 
Guys, let's get cracking on fleshing out this wiki.
Right now, I'm like the only one adding pages.

Here's what needs to happen:
  • Plot GMs and former plot GMs need to add information on the plots they run.
  • Players need to write a short article about their characters and old characters.
  • Older SARPers should fill in details on stuff like the Elysian war, YSS Seigi, the Qel'noran disaster, and such.
  • If you see articles that don't exist, create them! Even if they're only a sentence or two, it's better than nothing.
You guys have wanted a wiki for a long time now. Use it.

Should all player characters just go under List of Notable Characters, or would those of us who haven't really had any impact on the course of things yet go elsewhere? The fact that the list is under the History heading and mostly populated by older characters makes me a bit hesitant to toss Miyoko in.

For now, at least, I say all PCs are notable. :)
 
There. I used my horrible memory of how to edit wikis (and some blatant ripping-off of the barebones entries) to make an entry on Miyoko. Now the rest of y'all can plug your characters and look good by comparison. Get to it! *whip crack*
 
I'm at Marscon; I got an email notification of the change to the start page while I was checking my email on the hotel lobby internet. The link didn't belong on the front page. I'm not sure where to put it yet (as unapproved concepts are not canon and the wiki is supposed to be canon material) but I'll figure out something.
 
How do I use that really cool character profile thing that you created? I've been mulling over that one for a while and still can't jury rig it.
 
Thanks! This wiki is actually a lot of fun. I've just been updating little things here and there but it's nice to kind of see it all coming together like this.

Note: Always start articles with H1 titles (it names the page).
