So uh yeah I'm trying some experimental non-conventional plot stuff here on SARP, with this plot I've been cooking up for the past couple of weeks.

The 75th Regimental Combat Team is a Regiment(Rentai 連隊) sized independent combat formation of the Star Army's Rikugun, subordinate to the VII Legion on Tatiana. The Rikugun already has something of an image problem, struggling to define itself as not just the Uchuugun but on land, and Tatiana's streak of avant garde expression and constant tensions between the Empire's Nekovalkyrja and Tatiana's large population of immigrants- and illegal rural inhabitants, have only inflamed that.

Nicknamed the Warhounds for their supposed role and large portion of non-nekovalkyrja officers and soldiers, the 75th RCT is part of the Rikugun's push to define itself starting with a reorginazation of its forces into distinct commands capable of various roles. The 75th is just one of those, with the stated intent being the capacity to serve as an elite combat force capable of handling various situations.

Of course, things -appear- peaceful on the surface, so there isn't much to do. Or is there?

So uh, yeah, that's the thing. Characters in the plot aren't the standard, uh, enlisted soldiers but are instead junior officers and NCOs. I know there's a rule against people making characters of a rank they haven't achieved yet, but I think that can be waived for this plot. Also, because I think it might help, People are allowed to make NPCs to help flesh out their unit.

Oh and people have the free choice of which unit they want to take, but I'd prefer to fill up the Battalions first before we get Century Commanders.

I would be totally okay with this. If its not claimed I would love to be in either the 722nd Cav or the 724th Airborne. Or any of the others really but those are my preferences.

As a former RL NCO, I'm more comfortable making an NCO than running something in O country, (Plus NCO's get away with more than Officers do, just sayin' )
Got a spot in the Airborne for a Scout Sergeant with a penchant for doing very bad things to even worse people?

This is kind of confusing to me, to be honest. Wouldn't it make more sense to have all the players in one unit?

Instead of being the various ranking members of a wholly PC unit, the players will be command-level officers. A player dictates not only what their character is going to do but also what the NPCs who make up the bulk of their unit are going to do (a control pseudo-shared with the GM).

Something like that. It'd be more akin to the old nation games that were popular in certain circles on the pre-youtube internet.

Interesting. Running something like that in Orochi Squadron, hope to pick up some tips on properly depicting group actions in RP. Sadly unable to commit to yet another RP for the time being, my apologies.

Unfortunately Kirkatan has been permanently banned (again), so I'm closing this interest thread. I apologize to all the people who had hoped to join this plot. You're welcome to start your own similar one if you want.
