I'm gonna take some time to think this over, but as it stands, the proposed changes are breaking my vision for the weapon. Frankly, a ten second charge time is obscene and I don't think a weapon with a charge time that long is practical in any scenario, regardless of the relative damage output in proportion to the host platform. I honestly did not want to go past two seconds, but I understand that vision is not compatible with the game design. Thank you all for your input and time, but the presented direction does not align with what I envisioned.

I'll post again in the near future and make a decision about the direction of this submission. I have an entirely different concept that I can pursue with the same/similar art.

@Toshiro, the new concept will have a Kirie/Keiko variant as well.

A disposable heat sink (similar to the Mass Effect Thermal Clip) is ammunition. Just the same as a bazooka being an ammunition-based weapon. Not sure of how to quantify the charge element next to that, but yeah. Could become a great mitigating factor, though it might not be what this weapon is about.

I'm sorry you feel that way. Keeping in mind the identity of your weapon was why I added the last example, just tripling the times involved based on your normal shot. Charging your weapon should never be more advantageous than continuously firing your weapon; just allowing the charge shot to be so convenient threatens the existance and usefulness of a lot of other weapons in the setting (the charged shot's advantage being of dealing much more damage in a much smaller span of time). As is, your weapon is so powerful that most people would unquestionably use it over others.

Take your time thinking about it. Honestly, all you need to secure is Wes' approval as FM - I'm just here in an advisory role.
 
After doing some thinking, I would like this submission thread to be moved to the Rejected/Abandoned section. I plan to submit two new and related designs in the future. Again, thank you all for your time and input.
