YSS Kōkatsu Power Armor Team "Kitsune"
Frozen Coast, Tange IV

As the group emerged from the atmospheric storm, Uehashi's black Mindy slowed down on the approach towards the surface. Although her senses were seamlessly merged with the expansive and state-of-the-art sensor suite of the Mindy armor, offering her a fully panoramic and nearly omniscient view of her surroundings, Uehashi still retained her Nekovalkyrja empathy. When Takaki's Sylph dropped out of the range of the proximity sensors, Uehashi had also fallen back from the formation.

Uehashi was the last Mindy to come out of the storm, with Takaki's Sylph following closely after. The brown-skinned Neko's body let out an unconscious sigh of relief, although Uehashi herself maintained a conscious integration with the armor.

As the Mindy took in it's surroundings, Uehashi thought of New Vicky and it's cold and icy climate. However, the similarly cold and desolate environment around her spoke of industrial decay, on account of the planet's somewhat abandoned state.

On the approach towards the cliff face, a set of four NSBs detached themselves from the dorsal hardpoint of the Mindy and floated ahead towards the blast shutter. Soon after, another set of four NSBs detached from the dorsal hardpoint and began to spread out across the cliff face, serving as a rear guard for their host armor, which remained floating just above the bulkheads.

"NSBs deploying for rear guard and infiltration duties.", the pilot said cheerfully over the Kitsune channel. "Are we all okay? That storm was really tough!", she said in a concerned-sounding tone. The question was somewhat redundant however, as the armor had already addressed her concerns and communicated them to the pilot.

Sakaki had been making soft mewls and squeaks as she was moved in the wind and when they landed, she bent over and began breathing a little more regularly. She wasn't exhausted, nor close, but she had been holding her breath intermittently and wanted to catch it again. Her head raised as she watched the drones deploy into the icy air and her helmet followed the ones that had gone ahead to the hatch before turning to watch those that were taking rear guard. She went with the group to the hatch and began looking around at her team mates.

Once she heard Uehashi's question she sent a little chibi of herself nodding and a small word popped up with an exclamation mark, "Ok!"

...

Tsubei Kyoka was dead silent over radio comms as she got blown about. She landed with precision and a small half jump after her front foot had planted on the ground. The bright pink haired Neko disengaged inertial dampers and re-enlivened thrusters to let her suit begin flying her close to the pre-arranged coordinates.

Upon getting to the hatch she put her hands on it and turned it, diligently setting up places in her HUD for everyone to take up positions. Two of them were to flank each side of the hatch while two others stood in front of it, stacked up with one taking a knee. She paused at the hatch as she could feel it was almost open and looked around to see if everyone had taken up those positions.

"We agree this is our route inside, yes?" Tsubei Kyoka asked over Kitsune comms.

Just as the chibi appeared in her view amidst the steady flow of telemetry data, Uehashi's armor touched down right in front of the hatch, the pilot positioning the Mindy at point, taking a knee, and sighting the aether SMG.

"Hai, Tsubei-Juni!", Uehashi answered quickly over the Kitsune channel. "Taking point!", she added.

Takiki Iki took the wind battering her around in stride. It was a feeling she was used to none the less, being pushed around by that which you had little hope of fighting against physically. And so, she chose to tuck her limbs in and go with the flow, quite content to dive with the wind as it took her off course time after time. She felt for all the world like a butterfly in a hurricane. One that was having the time of its life as it descended to the surface. The only part that worried her was her team dropping off of her own sensors quite a few times, though she knew where they would be along the path. The fact that Uehashi seemingly dropped back for her own sake was nice however. She made a note to thank her later if that was the case.

"I don't see why not- of course one could always find a way that doesn't look to be the front door." She took a look around as she separated her Sylph Drones from her back, and made sure her own volumetric camouflage was active. After all for a sylph, not being seen in the first place was the greatest form of defense. She kept her plasma blade in hand, inactive for now as she had three drones look over the area, while the fourth would take position behind the two to stand in front of the hatch. They would have been a hinderance to her own mobility in any case, and would surely be excellent for additional eyes in the area.

For the moment, she chose to take the flank position, having no ranged weaponry other than the sylph drones.

Hasewega kept her trailing position behind Iki, even as the mini dropped from sensors from bit. She was hoping the Nitô Heisho would still be there as they dove through the cloud but she found herself glancing around, letting out an small "tsk" seeing Iki so far off. She slowed down enough to close the close the gap between the rest of group and Iki along Uehashi.

"Everyone seems to weathered the drop just fine. Now to see if we can make it to our port in the storm..."

Once her HUD lit up the entry positions set by Kyoka, Hasewega gave a quick "affirmative" over the comms straightened herself out to speed her descend. Eyeing the altitude meter as the husks of the buildings came into view, she spread herself and fired off her suits boosters to keep from splatting into the ground. Her landing was touch-and-go, slowing herself down to make landfall a few meters away from the hatch before hurrying over and sliding to a kneeling position on other side of hatch from the Uehashi.

"I have your back, Uehashi-Hei." She said, bringing up her GP-12 to bear towards the hatch. "On your mark."

Tsubei nodded to her fellow YSS Kōkatsu crew as she looked to either side, then turned her attention to the hatch on the six meter long platform that they stood on. Her atmospheric noise filtering was turned off, now that they were out of the air, so that she could hear within the compound. There was a roaring sound from below as the water off the cliffside continued to ascend and tumble tumultuously that bled into her hearing slowly. The Ittô Juni readied herself over the low din of the ocean's monologue with weapons and sensors feeds on her HUD showing she was all clear for insertion.

"Opening now, Kitsune. Be prepared for anything, but let the NSBs Uehashi-hei deployed go to work examining before we get ourselves inside! Kōkatsudearu!" At that, Tsubei Kyoka moved the central and circular hatch of the door all the way to her right and three teal lights that were previously slate grey and blended in with the metal of the door near the hatch became lit. There was a rush of movement as the large hatch opened.

Stale, long-pressurized atmosphere blasted out from the doorway when Kyoka opened it up, melting away bits of ice that hung in flat sheets from the corners of the threshold's exterior. An unusual roar bellowed out from the depths of the research facility within, screeching octaves louder than Tange's stormy weather and the waves crashing against the cliff face below. The SAINT team's AIES' automatically compensated, saving the band of Nekovalkyrja operatives from having to endure the old complex's horrifying gasp for new air. As the pressure differential stabilized, so did the team's external audio dampeners, giving way to a thin electronic voice saying something in Yamataian.

"... arning. Warning. Warning," it said in a distinctly flat Jiyuuian accent. A thin bar of orange light that ringed the airlock's inner edge had started up, too, and its blinking reflection made Kyoka's black power armor glow like magma at its edges from the perspective of those behind her. There was a screen just inside, too, which had begun to fill with some kind of text readout. A big wave slammed against the rock face under the platform where the operatives stood, spraying them with cold, briny foam that slid lazily back down their armor and dripped back into the sea.

"Quarantine breached. Please re-initiate atmospheric seal. Warning. Warning. Warning..." the recording continued repeating as Uehashi and Maki's vital readouts disappeared from the team's heads-up displays without disturbance, almost as if they'd never been there at all.

The roar from deep within the facility gave Hasewega a bit of a pause as the door opened. It could have the changes in atmosphere in the room, some metal fatigue, or even the wind; but it sounded too... off for it be seem natural. As the spray from the wave rained down on the team, Hasewega took a hand from her rifle and wipe some of the water from her visor, not wanting to have to deal with frozen water during her entry. Once her visor was clear, she glanced at her HUD to notice the team had became shorter in the few seconds.

She was starting to become unnerved, but she didn't have time to show it. She was the one on point now and her armor could freeze if she stood still. The mission had to proceed.

With Uehashi-hei off the map, so too was the feedback from her NSBs. And now it was too risky for Hasewega to deploy her own NSBs now. They could possible freeze up in this weather, if the the launch points on her armor weren not already frozen shut. She had to do this the old fashion way. The agent moved up towards the opening and glance in, rifle up and at the ready as she scanned the furthest corners from the door for any contacts. Once she was certain it was clear, she moved in to check the immediate corners next to the door as she advanced.

"Clear." She announced once her quick inspection was over. "Kyoka-Juni. We have a screen with a message of some kind, you should check it out. I will cover you."

Frozen Coast

Looking behind herself once, the Ittô Juni scanned for visual confirmation of what she was about to say. Her violet eyes saw only the austere scenery and the remaining team members as the froth slipped from their power armor and slunk off to the salt-saturated waters below the platform.

"We will proceed with mission specifications, although I have lost readouts of two members of Kitsune." Tsubei Kyoka said this more for record keeping and not to instigate action be taken.

"Please seal the hatch, Takaki-heisho, and standby. I like your plan, Hasewega-hei. Cover me while I go over this data," the pink-haired and Mindy-clad woman said this quickly to Sara and the mini Neko. She then stepped in through the hatch and up to the screen with the text readout. She held a finger up a few inches above the screen as if ready to touch it and key in commands, if need be, while reading.

Takiki Iki nodded, and stepped into the hatch as well while her drones gave the suroundings a quick once over, and called them inside with her as she began closing the hatch behind them. She ignored the water for a moment, but on hearing they had two team members missing she glanced up, and that certainly seemed to be the case... Did they get swept away? She hoped that it was as simple as that, she did not want to worry about somone sneakier than them running around this planet ghosting them.

Infact it made Takiki iki so concerned that she, very briefly considered sealing the hatch with her plasma blade, melting the seams together. It wasn't as if they couldn't cut their way out later if need be afterall. During her task she considered the oddities. The blast of air form the facility to her, sounded more like a brass instrument than anythign else. And she would refuse any other comparison if only for the sake of not having to focus on it. Not that she could properly focus on the task of searching for stealthy enemy combatants in such an environment anyway. "Perhaps they were swept away by the water and the storm, or the water is interfereing with the signal... and the roar is nothing to worry abotu either I'm sure. Like the facility is one, giant instrument. What is the biggest instrument any way? I'm sure we could beat the record."

The somewhat frosty sylph banged her chest, and back to get rid of the rapidly freezing water. Then stomped once or twice on each leg to avoid any joints freezing up.
