Approved Character [YSS Ryūjō] Seinosuke 'Sein' Iemochi

Nice read.
Might want to bump the rank up a little or make it that he enlisted.
Normally, when they scout you, they really, really want you. You won't be a Hei, at minimum a warrant officer or an officer. And you won't be going through basic, depending on how badly they want you. OCS most likely. And depending on how desperate they are, usually such a shoe-in will jump the junior officer rank (OCS cadet -> Cpt, skipping LT).

You might need to hobnob with Kyle or Aendri to see if they need any more officers/WOs or if the enlisted path is more suitable for the scenario.

In the Star Army, new players almost always start off as Santo Hei or Shoi Kohosei, so we should probably go with one of those. Although Santo Juni would also work with the history...

Okay thanks for the info. Let's see what Kyle or @Aendri say. Personally I think Santô Juni would best fit Sein. Of course, I'll be any rank deemed fit by the GMs but if possible I'd like to preserve my character as much as possible.

Edit: Changed the requested rank to Santô Juni.

The art needs to be removed and deleted. Modifying two pieces for separate characters, then mating them together, is a violation of those characters' creators' rights.

Thank you for fixing the art, as well as, fixing the rank. The Ryujo sadly has a lot of officers onboard it already, so it is better for him to start in the enlisted ranks at least for now and then in the future he can be promoted into the officer ranks :)

Other than that, please create your user page so that we'll get rid of that red link and then we can give this char the go ahead!

I'm not sure if ending up as a grunt fits into his history, as I mentioned before, getting scouted is really a big deal, to end up as a grunt is a huge (??!!) and shouldn't happen unless he screwed up something really fierce during training. Like shooting someone dead by accident serious. I think Wes's suggestion on Shoi Kohosei might be the best bet, everyone knows that Ensigns and junior Lts are simply glorified gophers there to be ordered about. :) Being the most junior officer on the ship avoids the problem of using someone so high value to be invited as a simple infantryman set to catch bullets in the front lines.

Or laughing in the recruiter's face and telling him he can do better than that.
The guy I know who did that ended up with a captaincy upon OCS graduation (They offered him full Lt initially).

It would be pretty unfortunate for a Doctor of Bio-Engineering used as a bullet sponge. I'd personally prefer a Warrant or Officer rank, but Kyle's said there's too many Officers on the Ryujo. It doesn't really fit into his history but if it's crucial that my char is Enlisted then I could say that he showed up a superior and promptly got relocated to Aurigaesha I to punish him.

I'll likely be entering the plot while the crew of the Ryujo is fighting on Aurigaesha I. It makes sense for him to be on the planet prior to the attack on some sort of scientific base or military outpost. He could be warranted in on the planet after helping out in the attack and for the demand for Science Officers onboard the Ryujo. He may have been there as a Shoi Kohosei helping manage the military outpost. He may have been transferred there for showing up a superior if we're going for the Santo Hei.

I feel like having people get demoted for minor crap would be a disservice to the Star Army as an organization. In the past, I've tried to keep demotions reserved as serious punishments for significant failures or misbehavior. A demotion is career-derailing. So if you're going to use the demotion route, it should be for something that actually deserves it, which is a space between minor stuff (not worth a demotion) and things that will get you a discharge (deliberate malice). In between is the zone of incompetence and stupid stuff soldiers get into lol. Maybe he accidentally cut power to a lab of embryos or lost a cargo container full of supplies by making a wrong turn onto the bridge that didn't hold enough weight or trying to ford the wrong stream. Maybe he got busted having sex with a freshly-created Nekovalkyrja body that hadn't received its "mind download" yet. Maybe he was operating machinery while drunk, or missed the ship departing or made the wrong joke about the Taisho...while the Taisho was standing 10 feet away.

I guess we'll need to get Kyle's input once again to see how the backstory would fit with the rank in his opinion as he has the final decision.

made the wrong joke about the Taisho...while the Taisho was standing 10 feet away.

One of my company mates molested the OC by accident. :p
The OC was using the phone bent over with his elbows on the desk taking notes when my friend walked in. Since he could only see the "rear view", he thought it was his buddy who was the Orderly Sergeant for the day, so he walked up and smacked hard.

All of us in the office couldn't stop laughing for an hour.

Ok... you know what.. I've never seen a character get demoted due to making jokes of the Taisho, that... that would be a rather interesting conversation piece within the roleplay for characters to talk about =D

I'll have to keep that in mind for a future character! (hehehe!) nah, that is one avenue that can work Ethereal and actually it wouldn't get your character looked down upon by anyone (Espically Takeyu, since when he sees why the demotion happened, it won't exactly bother him any as sometimes people do silly things)

Everything has been sorted after some help and discussion. I think it's safe to move this application into the approved area.

Xenoenthology? That's a very, very soft science kind of skill for a hard scientist to have studied. It's basically saying he's an alien culture expert. Doesn't really seem like it fits under a physics skill, either.

For his inventory, the armor would be a 3A, not the 2D.

Still need to add the metric weight measurements everywhere, and remove the Measurements spot, since you're not filling it in.

Outside of there, looks good to me.

@Kyle, if this character biography is approved, can you post that here so I can move it into the approved forum?
