Soyokaze

Four days later found the ship still orbiting the Gas Giant. The moon's orbit was just enough off set to their's, so that it would rise and set for them if anyone was to look out any of the windows, or used a volumetric display as such. The orbiting ships continued around and around giving the Soyokaze time to repair, the troop transport had left a day and a half ago. With the refugees, trying to get them to a facility to help process them and get them back to their homes. Though contact was lost to it four hours after it jumped away.

The Soyokaze was suffering damage in the Aether systems, the power flow conduits to the Fold, CDD, and CFS. It was dead in the water until the techs could get the systems back up and powered. It was going to take a few more days, but with the ship in a stable orbit and the main drive engines still working there was no danger to the ship.

Orders from the fleet HQ were to continue to orbit and repair, and to take it easy coming home, they earned it. The Admiralty were also apologetic to the task force. The reports and intel never showed that the mission should have become so dangerous. they also requested any accommodations the task force commander had and gave permissions for any rank advancements needed.

A transport was also inbound for the task force with recovery and repair equipment aboard along with a med bay designed to handle the mass off loads of soul savior pods.

Other then that the ship was healing and being put back to rights, though all of the lower decks and the main hanger now had a permanent reek of mild smoke damage and fire. no amount of time nor paint could ever seal that smell up. This Soyokaze like generations of warships before her time now smelled like a veteran.

Captains Quarters

The Captains Quarters hadn't faired any better than the rest of the ship from the battle of before, although Takeyu had since cleaned up as best he could, there was plenty that would need to be fixed - none of which was a priority. The man stood by near his main office and was looking over the list of repairs that had been completed and those that hadn't, while the ships FOLD systems along with the CDD and CFS were of importance he'd placed more of a priority on making certain that the hull was entirely secured and that the ship wouldn't tear itself to pieces 'when' they got moving again.. after all, nothing like sending a ship into fold-space and having it come back out in pieces moments later.

With a heavy sigh the captain stepped out of his quarters and glanced up and down the hallway, the man rubbed his chin curiously.

"Shoi, how go the repairs?" he sent via a message to Nenene, despite having the reports in his hands, those reports were old the instant they were completed; and thus things were subject to change.

Corridors of the Ship

Her cabin had been vented and burned out. She had been able to recover a few personal things she had kept in the travel cases. But the rest, including her uniforms had been burned or ejected out to space. So Misato Suzume had to recover her torn and bloody uniform from the medbay. She had cut the left arm off and tied the shoulder closed.

With the med labs hopping with all of the wounded and the resurrections of the dead crew, the soldier stayed away the best she could, Hiding out in the PA, working the best she could one armed at getting her PA back up to fight standards. The chest plate had to be pulled and patched, and the whole left arm had to be rebuilt. She would go to the Med bay when ordered or when they slow down.

When she hadn't been working one the PA or doing patrol sweeps of the ship, she had been sleeping on the bench seating in the combat drop ship. Wasn't the most comfortable place, but she had been so damned tired since she had been wounded. She had been figuring it must have to do with using only one arm.

Hallway Outside Captain's Quarters

As Takeyu sent his message, Hotaru, the ship's clerk, hovered down the corridor to a few normal sized paces in front of him before offering a bow. "Konchou, I finally have an initial report on our inventory and it is not looking good," the mini Neko offered in a calm voice, but with a face of deep concern and worry.

Science Lab

The initial aftermath of the battle had left the lab in quite the disarray that many chemicals that should not have been in contact with each other did. Many of the problematic substances would have been fine with AMES being used, however there was just enough corrosive gasses that Chieko and company had to start with power armor. By the fourth day, though, the place had been cleaned up sufficiently enough to be back in the lighter space suits.

Chieko went at things with her usual vigour, despite continuing to work after her official shift of duty ended. Isrun also was moving along ok, though not as well, having felt guilted into following the biologist's example; however Kana was starting to feel a little tired from trying to keep up with her teammates. It wasn't bad, and wrote it off as exhaustion catching up to her; but finally, with the last of the problems cleaned up, the pink haired Neko needed to sit down.

"How are you managing?" came the Minkan's concerned inquiry, "We're almost there, Kana - just need to recycle the broken equipment."

"I know, I just think we really need to take a break," came Kana's response,

"I agree, Nitô Hei," Isrun put in, "We should grab a few moments before moving all the heavy stuff."

Chieko sighed, knowing she could only push so far, and they had kept up with her better than they needed to. All push with no reward was typically a good way to frustrate others who do their jobs well. Recognizing this, the scientist relented and gave them a break, allowing herself one at the same time so that they wouldn't feel guilted like the last few days.

Elina wrinkled her nose as a slight spell of weightless over came her, making her stumble a bit. She blew it off as the ship's gravity mechinism was still out of what from the damage it sustained. She leaned against the wall, waiting for it to pass as it always did.

Once the weightless had past, she continued on her way through the ship heading to the lounge. She was still waiting for the summons to see the XO of the ship. She wondered if the XO's Yeoman had deliberitly missplaced the notification that she was aboard the Soyokaze and was waiting for the responce from her. In the meantime she would familiarize herself with the ship's layout, barring the places where a civilian couldn't gain access to and the heavily damages sections of the ship.

She had caught glimpse of the Captain of the ship and thought he was a handsome person to get to know better. Being on a military ship, her path didn't cross his.

With the Infirmary busy with the wounded from the attack on the Moon Towns, Elina would bide her time in going there.

Ocassionaly in her meanderings, she would spot and pass by Misato Suzume, being glad she was just a simple entertainer, not Infantry. She nodded to her and accidently sneezed 'AAAAAh!- Choooooooo!' "Sorry about that!" Elina exclaimed softly, turning a bit red from the force of the sudden sneeze brought about by the smell that premated the air.

She scowled as it brought about another sence of weightless, making her seem uncordinated and a head ache. "ooooo...hate these head aches," muttered softly as she leaned against the wall.

Chiasa had made herself available for damage control and repair. She had been working almost non-stop since she started moving from repair site to another. The only time she was not working was when she needed to clean up. She was currently working in a maintenance conduit replacing several lengths of cables for the sensor subsystems.

While she was doing this she was also checking in with the MEGAMI to keep track of the ship's status.

Ume had spent the first day back recovering from the massive wounds the took, but with Yamtaian medical tech and her Neko healing wit was only a matter of time before she was quickly back on her feet. The first thing she did was check on her armor which had not been repaired yet, with priority going to repairing the ship. Seeing all the damage that it suffered she took notes and tried to remember the fight as best she could. While her set up wasn't wrong exactly she knew there were improvements she could make to it to get it to work better.

After having visited the armory it was time to help out with repairs to the ship. Repairs were not exactly something Ume was taught how to do so as she went around to offer assistance she simply did what she was told, which usually was heavy lifting or holding things in place while they were fastened.

Kioko had spent the first day healing up from her wounds it took longer than she thought it would as it seemed she had a few deeper wounds mixed in that didn't heal as quickly. After the healing was done, she done all she need to be assigned to the ship then got all of her orders from the OX of the ship, all of the missions at the moment was to help with repairs around the ship, she was happy to do this because it meant she was actually being valued by the crew instead of being ignored and told she was not needed.

Hallwall

'Not looking good....' three words no captain wanted to really hear. Takeyu sighed and glanced at the Mini, he wasn't quite used to them yet but he didn't let that show on his face; he already figured that the inventory would be in some way, shape, or form; affected by their battle but it worried him just 'how' they affected they were. "Give me your report then please," he asked.

Hotaru took a deep breath. "Well, we're down both our Kumas, and half of our Racoons," she began, trying to put the least troublesome issues first, "That leaves us three shuttles to work with if we ever need to get out of here in a hurry, and two Alligators. We also lost three fighters - leaving us with only one - and with the evacuation of the moon, our drop ships are unavailable to us.

"Of course, with much of the cargo area having vented for some time; repair supplies are going to run problematically low in the next few days. This can be dealt with by using the Nodal System; however that would slow repairs up. Thankfully we're still decently stocked with weapons and ammunition, but that won't alleviate the previous issue, nor this other one."

The miniature officer cadet was loath to talk about the last issue; however it also ended up being the one she felt most important. "Most of the large scale cargo hold breaches occurred in areas where the food crates were," she sighed, "We are currently down to a week of food left." The tiny clerk then made sure to perfect her posture at the end, with her eyes closed, as if preparing for the worst.

Conduit

Chiasa opened one of the junction boxes that she was about to connect several cables to. Her olfactory sense told her the status of the box even before the cover was fully removed. Looking in she could see that the contents of the box were damaged beyond simple repair. This meant she needed to remove the contents and replace it. She notified the MEGAMI about the status of the junction box and her corrective action she was undertaking.

Securing the cable to the conduit's side, she set about to disconnecting the various external connections. Once that was accomplished, she quickly removed the fasteners and removed the damaged board and switching modules. She made her way quickly to the nearest hatch to the conduit and crawled out into the hallway. She put the hatch back in place and set off to Fabrication.

Fabrication

Once she entered the fabrication area, she went to the parts lockers. She took the clipboard and scanned the contents. Most of what she needed was in the bins, but one of the high speed routers was not. She walked over to the nearest unit and downloaded the specifications. She then programmed it to manufacture two. One for her needs, and one to put in the bins for someone else.

She walked over to a work station and pulled out a stool to sit on. She placed the parts she had carefully on the work space. She secured the base board and attached the necessary ESD clasp. She attached the connectors to the board, surveying her soldering with her milliscopic vision. One satisfied, she started attaching the various modules. She opted for efficiency and accuracy over speed but was satisfied with her progress. About the time she attached the last component. The fabricator signaled that its work was done.

Chiasa walked over and opened the unit. She took out the two modules and put one on her work bench and the other in the parts locker. She walked back to the work bench and prepared to finish her work.

Corridor

Elina continued her way through the ship after recovering from her vertigo or dizzy spell. Taking a wrong turn, she ended up in the Fabrication Room of the Soyokaze..

Fabrication Room.

She looked around at all the hugh tech machines busily at their programmed chores as she stepped deeper into the room. Sheeing a familiar face once again. Elina smiled warmily and skipped on over to Chiasa. "Hi.... Aaaaaa-Chooooo!.... excuse me!" She sneezed again before she cover it up, making her close her eyes in a squint as it gave her a headache. "This place smells weird! Is it suppose to smell like burned out electronics?" Flopping down in a nearby seat next to Chiasa, watching her work.

As Takeyu listened to the report; he rubbed his chin in thought, the mentioning of low food supplies was the biggest worry, it meant that if they didn't get repairs done within the week or if the supply ship mysteriously doesn't arrive they'd been in a real bind. "Food rations down to a week..." he sighed and tapped his chin for a moment. "Depending on how long repairs take we'll need to consider rationing, using the Nodal system would merely be a patch to the problem and wouldn't really solve it, espically if we can't get repairs done in time," he said in a near whisper.

Ship Corridors

With the situation returning to normal Bors had gone back to his daily routine of waking up, working out, getting a bit of breakfast than going about the ship seeing what needed to be done. He had been camping out in the maintenance bay seeing what had happened to the ships vehicles and getting them up and ready when he decided to go for a bit of a walk and have a drink from his personal stash. After grabbing a bottle and tossing his jacket so that he could relax in his tank top, Bors ducked into one of the maintenance conduits to navigate about the ship without raising any questions.

After a bit of meandering he found himself in the hangar and decided to dunk into one of the drop ships. Dipping inside he noticed Misato asleep on one of the benches and a smirk crossed his face.

"Oi its time to get up sleepy head." He said giving her a swift little kick with his boot, "Or do I need to give you a hand with that?"

Medical Bay

Meiko was at the medical bay, having aided everyone who came in with recovering from wounds and such now that she had the right tools to do so. That was where she spent most of her time once back from the planet. Now, at this precise moment, she was focusing on repairing and helping clean up the medical bay.

Fabrication

Chiasa listened to Elina when she entered the room. People coming into the room was not unusual so she continued to install the final module into the junction box. Upon hearing a familiar voice she completed the final steps. Then putting the various tools back in their proper places on the work bench she turned to Elina.

"Hello Elina. Normally it would not smell like burnt electronics. But since I brought in a damaged junction box that was shorted out. The order unfortunately followed with the unit.

What have you been doing with yourself after clearing medical screening? Are you suffering from some sort of sinus infection, or are the fumes in here irritating your olfactory senses?"

"Unfortunately, Kanshou, rations will be all we have by either the end of today, or noon tomorrow," Hotaru bowed, "The Galley Chief called me in on my way to you after being told she wasn't getting the restocking of the coolers and freezers that was supposed to happen this morning. On that note, I would like myself and the logistics crew to start rations early and avoid the galley, as I do not like how she looked at me while sharpening her knives."

Science Lab

With the break done, Chieko stood up and called the group back to work again. Isrun stood decently enough, however Kana grabbed something to hang onto as her head spun.

"Kana, you ok?" the biologist called back, having heard the Neko's support clatter a little,

"I'm not sure," the pink haired assistant replied, "I just felt dizzy as I stood up."

"Exhaustion," Isrun shrugged, "We have been at this a little harder than we should have."

"It's only been four days, though. And we did sleep every night," came Kana's reply,

"Isrun, take Kana to the med bay," Chieko sighed, "I'm sure the doctor has something to pump her up with if that's all she needs."

"What about the damaged equipment?" Kana asked with a pang of guilt,

"Get back here once the doctor has taken a look at you and that won't be a problem," Chieko replied,

Isrun prodded Kana, then worked into guiding her out the door. The Minkan waited until she heard the seal of the outside door, open, then close before letting out a long breath. This was going to be a long day.

Drop ship, in Soyo's hangers

Reaching out with her remaining hand, Misato grabbed Riko's foot before it reached her. she pulled hard and caused the Nepleasian onto his ass. Rising up she shifted to a sitting position before dropping down on top of him, straddling him.

"You're an ass monkey..." She sniffled before punching him lightly in the shoulder. "Why are you waking me? Are the kids fighting in the PA bay again?" She yawned, and looked back at the bench. "I hope you have a good reason, I'm really tired..."

Ship Corridors

Kioko was wondering the halls to make sure she knew where everything was for later if she needed to rush places, in the lower areas her sences were overwelmed by the smokey smell, it didn't seem that bad to the others but she hated it a lot. After a while and when she believed that she knew her way around she decided to see if she could find Ume and that to see how they are, she felt a small bomd with them as they worked together in the last mission.

Hallway

Takeyu raised an eyebrow and looked at the mini for a moment. "Granted, although there is to be no cannibalizing of the ships crew. Besides, mini's don't taste very good anyway," he winked at Hotaru before folding his arms over his chest to consider other options for dealing with the potential upcoming food shortage. "Don't worry, no one will eat you or the others," he kept the wink and walked a bit toward one of the hallways displays, it was a directory of the ship but right now it was cracked and thus had no information it. "For now, I would like logistics to work on figuring out a method to our food shortages. If we 'have' to use the Nodal system at some point then so be it, but lets try and find another method first."
