OOC Battlefield Education: My Martial Arts Are Completely Interfering With My School Romantic Comedy

I actually might just have a field trip planned for a few episodes in that may feature some familiar faces...~

Edit: I forgot to mention, if someone has an idea for an 'older kid' and they want to play one of the Four Divine Queens instead of a regular student? Hit me up with ideas. Although you'd be a bit of an antagonist to the other players/characters.

From the wiki article for Neko Academy, "Nekovalkyrja who are in their third month of life, participate with...Upper Secondary students." So, minimum of three months. I think this works for all Neko in general, as a freshly created one goes through 98 days of training before heading to their first assignment.

In the story pitch I mentioned Neko being pulled from school, home and training. So you could be in the middle of boot camp, be getting homeschooled by your Neko parents, be just about to be assigned to a real post and get sent here, or perhaps even pulled from a private dojo or some other more esoteric training area.

In other news, Wes set us up with a sub-forum again, with all the ZHS threads recovered, right here! I do recommend reading the first few pages of the OOC thread. Definitely not the last few. You might skim a few of the threads if you're interested, too.

I'll work on tidying up the first post of this thread with all the story/app details. Now that we've got a place to post, it's time to post character applications in the proper area and make sure to @ me and Ame so we see it. Thanks!

Apparently I can't edit the first post, for some reason! So, get your character creation info right here!

Season Two story summary:
With the Kuvexian War heating up, the Star Army of Yamatai needs a fresh wave of new soldiers, the likes of which haven't been seen since the end of the Second NMX War. They don't just need Neko, or even recruits that'd made it through boot camp or scored high on their technical exams. They need soldiers, specialist, leaders. They need Artists of combat. Martial Artists.

So, an experimental program has been launched. The princess created as a propaganda tool for this very war, Ketsurui Aiko has seen combat on the front line against Kuvexian forces. She's returned to Yamatai for debriefing and further training, along with some rest and relaxation. Not to mention a steady stream of public appearances to boost morale and share her story.

Along with the princess, a fresh wave of Neko and Younglings have arrived at Zenjinkaze Fighting High School. Hand selected from schools, homes and boot camps, these students have already demonstrated an aptitude for the martial arts, combat sports, firearms and the like. They are the top 1%, and they're here to become the top 0.1%. They'll officially enter the Star Army of Yamtai as squad leaders, commanders, captains. They need aces and experts to drive the average Neko forward, lead by example, and inspire their comrades to greatness. When (if) you graduate, you will be considered the Best of the Best.

But this isn't a race, a dash to the finish, with nothing but katas and combat skills drilled into impressionable young minds. They want empathy, logic, courage, discretion, and love. The children who train here will leave as fully formed adults, well rounded and not just ready to serve, but expected to excel. Within the last few years, a certain Martial Art has risen in popularity, or at least notoriety, and its unique blend of traditional Yamataian arts and philosophy with a Neko-specific fighting style that produces both ace Power Armor combatants and well read, duty-focused leaders has led to its selection for this training experiment. The students are all expected to learn this new style, with the various sub-styles catering to their individual strengths.

A bit of a guide for character creation. This is a list of what you should have in your inventory by default:
  • Summer Seifuku
  • Winter Seifuku
  • Summer Gakuran
  • Winter Gakuran
  • Exercise Uniform
  • Swimsuit (one piece)
  • Swim trunks
Pick the appropriate set of uniforms for your character, of course. Plus:
  • Identification/GS Card (Includes Driver’s Licence if earned, which is rare) (just say 'includes Driver's Licence' if you have one, don't leave this whole thing in, come on)
  • Starkwerk Touchcomputer, with a civilian Kessaku OS and PANTHEON access connecting to Tsubomi's server network
  • Several sets of Casual clothing
  • One set of formal wear
  • Appropriate applicable clothing for extracurricular activities (football uniform, rugby uniform, kendo pads, training sword, etc.)
  • At LEAST one personal item of sentimental/personal value, but little real value, but no more than FIVE such items
All students also begin with 100 GS and zero KS. You will be expected to actually spend money to do things, and everyone will be given an allowance when a new episode starts. Adults will be assumed to have KS in the bank, out of the RP, which is unable to be spent in Tsubomi. Students get room and board at the dorms and staff are assumed to live in the Ward nearby, unless they are bumming it at the school because they are comic relief. Staff will also get more GS, and replace those student uniforms with either work uniforms or more casual/formal outfits to teach in.

If you want to play a Staff member or adult in Tsubomi, please PM me here or on Discord.

I would be incredibly appreciative for anyone who wants to play both a Student and Staff member as it would help me out and give both of us more RP options, and also help students find adults to look up to or at least chaperone their misadventures.

Also, if you just happen to have a spare character you're not using that might fit in, it's easy enough to explain away their presence at the school, or at least around town. Just to keep them occupied and add extra flavor.

Got our first two characters approved and added onto the wiki pages. Just need a few more before I can officially kick things off!
