RP: YSS Kaiyō Mission Fourteen: Uekiya pt. II

Saya blinked as she saw the floating gobs of coolant, eyes going a little wide at the idea of the flammable floating pods of death.

"Reh..." She said into her helmet, before an oddly strange idea popped into the normally docile Medic's head.

"Ano... Wh-what if we... what if we push the fluid toward the other bay? We can push it in, light it, and fire in as needed? Can we reroute a coolant line maybe?"

Saya tapped her helmet where her lips would be in an old habit of doing the same when out of the suit and she was thinking through a problem.

"We could use the suit's Photonics array." She offered.

Odo found the access to the weapons system, and pulled out a engineering scanner he kept in his butt pack. He scanned the weapons and noticed it was unshielded and accessible.

"Horrible security." He mumbled to himself.

He turned to the other man in the conduit. "We could do this the loud way and blow it...or we could do it the silent way and disable it. What are you thinking?"

He asked because the silent way would be him accessing it directly and taking it offline, which would take some time, but would probably confuse the crew of the ship, blowing it would be the fast and easy way, but would alert some people to their location. It would be kinda hard to miss a explosion.

CAVERN/WALL BETWEEN HANGERS

Plenty of cable, some of the gunk floating around, and a brilliant idea. Ragnar had a sneaking suspicion it might not work but he was ready to try anything to get work done and back to the bright comfort of the Kaiyo.

He would have preferred the precise controls of a laser scalpel but would not risk the time it’d take to cut between walls. Instead Ragnar carefully and quietly peeled back the outer wall and wiring. Then; staring hard at the barrier between them and void knows how many hostiles, he lifted his scalar smg and used the aether bayonet slowly and precisely.

The slits shouldn’t be more than the width of a coin and Ragnar already began sweating in his helmet. Any medics monitoring vitals would notice a sudden spike in pulse even though Ragnar wouldn’t acknowledge it. Once the slits were carved he’d yank on a coolant tube and drag it to the wall. “Napalm, napalm sticks like glue...” he whispered into the comms hoping someone, anyone would catch onto what he was planning and come by to help.

Rather not take all the blame if this goes wrong, he thought with a nervous grin.

Saya was already messing with her photonics system, trying to get it to curve a little to make catching and coralling the coolant easier before she spotted Ragnar. Tilting her head a little as she spotted him working on the wall, the idea dawned on her slowly.

She was quick to help him though! She ran over to wrangle the coolant hose and help him bring it over to the wall. He had helped her earlier in calming her down, it was only right to help him back.

"Do you think its going to be big enough?" Saya asked, unaware of the other connotations such a phrase could be taken as, as she handled a hose...

“Hehehe...it should be fine. We want a nice slow drip.” Ragnar responded to the little medic. He took the cable from her, handing his smg over and bracing with the power armor.

“Punch some small holes in with the bayonet, get a stream going. No energy or sparks yet.” Ragnar said almost casually. His heart was still thundering but he had learned how to fake it a long time ago.

Saya nodded as she handed the hose over and took the smg from Ragnar. Her hands were shaking as she took a few purging breaths before she readied the weapon. Trying to line up where she wanted the holes to match where the holes in the wall were, Saya began to cut in carefully. Her own heart was pounding a mile a minute as she struggled to keep a steady hand.

Soon Enough she had matching holes that would be close enough to where the other holes were on the wall.

"Is that big enough?" Saya asked.

"Spectre, join the armor team immediately," Jinja Emi ordered, her quiet voice switching from kind to domineering as she said aloud what she telepathically ordered Candon, "you will report to Teien Eden-Shosa until otherwise stated."

"Copy that, reporting to Eden-Shosa," Candon confirmed, switching channels to his new boss, "Eden-Shosa, this is Spectre. Where do you need an extra soldier, ma'am?"

"Allright, well, lets do it." Odo responded and then thought about how he was going to blow it up, he hadnt brought any explosives so he was going to have to improvise. He pulled the torch he used to cut into the hull, and cut an opening in the armor of the Gun conduit. Cables ran back and forth through the inside.

He reached into his butt pack and pulled out some small spare batteries he had for emergencies. He turned to Walter.

"Im basically going to create a power feedback loop to overload these packs, it should be enough to destroy the main power conduits here, maybe set off some secondary explosions down the line if im lucky, but I wouldnt count on it. This is completely jury rigged, and I have no idea how long before it explodes or how big the explosion will be, but I suggest we retreat back around the corner when i set this off." He explained.

He cabled the three batteries together, and then looked for a cable coming from one of the main power junctions. Pulling it out of the socket, he rigged up a connection to the now daisy chained batteries, hooking them into the power feed, and allowing the power to run into and back out of the batteries in a cycle.

The engineers manning the weapons station would probably see a slight power drain, but nothing too noticeable, until it blew, and it would take them too long to track down where the power was draining.

He turned to Walter. "Lets go." and he started back down the conduit, to take cover behind the corner of the wall. He assumed Walter was behind him.

"Alright, alright, no need to chew me out, it was just an idea..." The dimensional double-foreigner Shivered a little bit as the tall technician's commanding voice cut into her ears assertively. "That's about all I can really think of with that, then. If we keep the leak open, we might be able to make the Empire shut down eventually, but... That would take a while. Like, a WHILE a while. And that's assuming they don't redirect the stuff to stop it."

Arbles mumbled in discomfort as the ship accelerated around her, the intense maneuvers in combat not being perfectly mitigated by the Combined Field System because of how, well, intense they were. She rolled over again, now more or less in the very middle of the bedding and curled up in a ball. As it turns out, she's a very, very deep sleeper... Oops.

Outer Space
Able wasn't going to wait around forever while combat commenced on all sides of him. Besides, as the cover of the asteroid field began to falter, he didn't have any choice but to move out of dodge. These larger ships could possibly take many more hits, but he didn't have that luxury. Turning tail and heading back towards the Kaiyo was when he noticed enemy armors practically surrounding the ship, where he joined the other fighter in gunning them down as he flew close to the Kaiyo's hull, acting as a sentinel, blowing apart any enemy blips he could see on his radar.

It didn't take Able long at all to notice the gunships tailing the Kaiyo, and he gulped, remembering his 70% shields. If he was going to stand his ground and protect the ship with this other fighter... He had to do it cautiously. His eyes widened as the ship suddenly made a turn towards the enemy gunships, and with some quick thinking, used the distraction of the Kaiyo's main guns firing off to fly towards the same enemy ship, looking for a blind spot where there were relatively fewer turrets before firing off another couple torpedoes, before making a sharp turn back towards the Kaiyo.

"Able-Hei to bridge... I can attempt to cover the Kaiyo's starboard side long enough to make a retreat, but I cannot do it alone." Hopefully, this new guy wasn't a coward in the face of danger. "That should be enough to take at least a little heat off of the ship."

Alastair waited for a few minutes for the door to blow open but nothing happened. The hell is going wrong here, I know I set the fuse right. He then glanced down at the screen on his arm and noticed the time remaining on the fuse. Holy crap that is forever. He thought to himself.

Well since this was going to take awhile might as well take the time to get some office work done. He took a seat and flipped up his HUD and opened the log to update information. In reality he was busy working on his character he had made with Saya before the mission. He kind of got addicted to the game she showed him and spent much of his free time working on things offline. He clicked and typed away as the timer on the fuse ticked down.

Hoshi said, "Thank you for being here on this mission. I must be seeing to my bridge, now, Chujo, so, if you would excuse me." The little woman said as she stood, "I have a dire need to get some kind of information out of the IYS universe's captain. Maybe you can question her in the med lab's brig. It would help the situation immensely if you can get anything from her." She looked to Jinja Emi as she moved away from her chair behind her desk and to the door to her ready room, which she stood near but did not go through until the Chujo was up from her own seat and had walked to the door to the bridge.

Bridge

Asuka stood and saluted, then added, "Chujo, Chusa!" She sat back down and added after re-reading sensor data, "We have only just downed the lead armor and the nearest gunships. Sending a condensed sensor readout to you now, Captain."

"Thank you," Hoshi said as she sat down at her chair and nodded to the Chujo as she let the higher ranked Nekovalkyrja see herself out. "Proceed with your line of attack, helm. Keep an open eye for hostiles." She added to the fighters, "To the Mamushi out there, prepare to double back into the thick of it."

The large weapon didn't make any noticeable changes to what the Kaiyō personnel could see.

Wyatt moved through the conduit with ease while the PD turrets moved slowly, then all at once, and then slowly once more. They were trying to go after the vague signals they were able to pick up from Wyatt and his suit, but there wasn't enough data on the Minkan for the enemy ship's inner defenses to properly detect him.

Zero Gravity Passageway

Eden looked at the data that Wyatt had sent out, forming a clear order for the marksman, then he went dark. Her black brows formed a quizzical expression as she thought about her options.

"Designation Spectre," Eden said to Candon, "I'll need backup ASAP! I am sending you my coordinates and what I know of the ship. How and where do you see yourself entering the enemy ship?"

Captain's Quarters

Alastair’s added pressure to the door forcibly pushed it backwards once it was broken in a complete circle. A low series of gasps were picked up on auditory sensors of Alastair's Mindy 4 suit. When the door fell backwards and landed, it was pretty far from where the room's scantily-dressed women of varying hues and an umbrella appeal in terms of looks were and none of them were hurt as the hunk of door fell to the ground of the entryway. Many of them were looking warily past their hands and fingers as they blocked their heads from harm while still trying to steal a peak at the Kaiyō II's third in command. Some of them hid completely behind the couches and pillars while others crept with their bodies and eyes out of hiding to gaze upon the power armored man.

The room was pleasantly furnished in different shades of red and had many wall to ceiling cloth hangings that obscured the walls. The furniture was plush and well taken care of. Everything seemed to shine with a cleanliness, even the women. The ones tied up in the center of the room on either side of a chair were in the complete nude, as were some other women. About half of them wore clothes such as g-strings with long veils over the outer hips and bikinis made of metallic material. There were very many parts of the quarters that were closed off, but Alastair could see the bodies' shapes behind the walls and curtains on sensors. In Yamataigo, someone spoke.

"Help!" The voice came from a woman nearer Alastair than most of the others but still far enough away in the expansive quarters that she felt she had to yell to Alastair as she said this. Her arm raised as she looked upon him with pleading eyes.

As Wiliam asked his question, his aggressor looked both ways before she turned tail and ran the twenty meters down the hall and then went to the left at the fork in the hallway.

Coconut's precise fire at the weapon in the hands of the enemy eventually knocked it from the assailant's hand and the power armor-clad woman quickly jettisoned upwards. Once she was in the air, her comrades stepped in to take her place while the now weapon-less power armor-clad enemy stopped mid-air, directly behind Coconut as she steadied her forearm weaponry and her shoulder-mounted guns began swiveling to right themselves and aim at the 'Nut. All the while, the others had begun shooting, but the propped volumetric shield was taking the blows for Coconut, who had so far remained unharmed.

Muyomi looked to Seinosuke, “Juni…?” Her eyes floated to the medic was in and added on to her one word question. “Fujiwara Saya-hei has a good idea. And… What are you doing?” Muyomi looked to Ragnar and, now, Saya, as she joined in. “Don’t cut into the other side of the wall, their side, until…” Muyomi looked quickly at the scientist near her. “Just not yet, okay? Juni…” Peio Muyomi turned her attention more towards Sein Iemochi and asked, “Do you think we should go with Fujiwara-hei’s original idea to funnel the flammable liquid in to a hole in the wall? We could sabotage whatever they have going for them?"

"If it's going to blow them and not us up, I don't see why not. Although given that we are sitting in a vaccum that we just created, I don't think we'll have enough oxygen left to do anything or it's energetic enough to blow without oxygen in which case it might end us to. I don't think it will work, so we shouldn't do it." Sacre commented, ignorant about starship fuels, but taking what she knew about making a fire, that you needed heat, oxygen, and fuel and working with it. They could provide heat to the fuel, but not oxygen.

Captain's Quarters

Like the ocean parting to bring people to the promise land, Alastair at last finally opened the door. His weapon was at the ready as he gained full sight into the room. He was only slightly shocked by what he seen as he had expected nothing less of captain Eve. His heart still skipped a beat as he glanced over girl after girl who was mostly or completely naked. Clearly Alastair being the gentleman that he was, got only a slight nosebleed.

He mentally wiped the grin from his face as he walked into the room. As he did so he heard the cries of help from one of the near by girls. He instinctively removed his helmet. "Fear not for I..." He was rudely interrupted as he tripped over part of the door. Had it not been for the mindy's balance algorithm he would have surely face planted. Fucking door, you shall deny me no more!! He quickly rallied himself and picked up where he left off.

"Fear not for I, Alastair the liberator is here to rescue you all." He said in the most grand fashion possible. The dashing charm coming off him would be enough to shatter glass. None the less he did mean well and felt sorry for the girls trapped here.

He put the helmet back on and entered the room completely walking towards the girl who called for help. "Hello miss, can you help me with the others?" His voice had the most sincere calming tone to it as he spoke.

“No need for oxygen when you have fuel and ignition. O2 only excites flames, it doesn’t fuel explosions. How do you think ships make those pretty pops in the void?” Ragnar said over the comms with gritted teeth, making sure to add his signature annoyed inflection to the last sentence. He heaved the pipe onto a crate and lined up the holes, allowing the space in between the bulkheads to fill with fluid.

Once the damage was lined up he marked an area on the opposite side of the holes he had drilled for HUD targeting. “I don’t know about you lot, but I heard a bit about no respawns and I have an awful breathing addiction I’d like to maintain. A bit of faith my fellow medical and science friends. Let’s make team tons of guns look amateurish once we light this puppy.” He followed up his annoyed monologue with that reassuring gravel, giving an armored thumbs up to the medic that had helped him while floating back to the barricade.

“Besides...it’ll be really, really cool.”

A trickle of sweat rolled down the inside of Wyatt's helmet as he carefully moved past the turret-lined walls, only realising he had been holding his breath when noticed the sigh of relief that left his lips once he found a safe alcove away from the turrets to tuck himself into - the Jôtô Hei didn't really believe in luck but he sure as hell was glad that the turrets didn't fill his body with holes during that brief maneuver.

But the Minkan was safe for now at least, but he couldn't just lay here in this conduit as others no doubt put their own plans into action - No, he'd have to strike hard and fast, especially seeing as it was just him for the time being.

He began re-activating his suit's previously shut-down systems and patched in to the Shosa's communications, "Apologies for the radio-silence Eden-Shosa, ma'am, I'm above the bridge and about to breach - it should keep them at least distracted until you find an entry point, over."

Anybody on the bridge below would see an Aether-coated blade slice a gash through their roof as a small NSB drone whizzed through, barely a second later and Wyatt's mindy crashed down to the deck with one fist slamming into the metal floor - the Mindy-clad figure rose up and aimed his civillian NSP (that still had some tape on it from his makeshift holster) at the most important person in the room before squeezing off two stunning shots at them, he ordered the drone to make sure they were down with some additional fire if it was needed as the Minkan fired up his shoulder-mounted shield generator and began dashing away from his point of impact to deal with any other personnel in the room.

The explosion went off, but the turret kept shooting, unaffected. Odo sighed. He turned to the other techinician.

"Well that didnt work, any other ideas?" He asked Walter.

William was caught off guard as his opponent retreated and ducked down a hallway. The nepleslian cursed loudly and yelled "Oh no you don't!" He propelled himself forward. "You won't get away from me that easily!" He roared as he barreled down the left hallway. He raised his arms and fired his railguns at full auto, sending a literal hailstorm of flechette rounds down the hall.

He was going to take her down, no matter the cost. He bared his teeth as the cannons in his arms boomed, sending shockwaves through his body. While he fired, he scanned for where she might try to escape to next.

"Reh?" Saya blinked as she helped heft the tubing up onto the crate with Ragnar before she looked back to the suit that commended her idea. For once someone had actually thought she had a good idea and frankly the concept was foreign to the usually quiet and hidden Medic. Her face was red under her helmet as she silently enjoyed the praise though anyone watching could see her twist her left foot on her toes back and forth as if wagging a tail.

As Ragnar finished, Saya went back to fiddling with her Photonics array on her suit as she tried to get it to create a curved barrier. She would experiment with moving what fluid there was floating in the room toward the wall for now.
