RP Honeybear don't care

"Too easy. I see a Minkan and an ID-SOL over there, too. Minkans can manipulate gravity, but their inertia is static, so it'll be too easy to hook the chef and toss him. You won't be able to straight overpower Frank, so break his shield." Aliset quickly formed up in her assigned spot, turning her shield so that she could drive the point into the ground and use it as a lever, but just as easily rotate her shield to keep it from getting snapped against that ground.

Years and years of Senti martial arts training would allow her to control her inertia like Miko could control gravity near him. As easily as breathing. And though the axe was too thick in the handle, it would allow her to hook a shield and use her inertia and mass to swing another player into a part of the shield wall that could handle them more efficiently.

This whole situation seemed fishy. Why, now? Twenty eight years after first contact, and just now there are terrorist and anti-xenoist movements gaining ground? Twenty eight years of honorable contact with the Yamatai Star Empire, soldiers of incredible service and merit. And now they wanted to use violence to blame the Star Army? Moral high ground only works when there's ground to stand on. Who gains from a war like that? The terrorists aren't AXL. It would have been too convenient.

Only five people on the planet knew who and what she was, for sure. Itami and Sacre had served with her. They knew better than to blow her cover like that. The Admirals wouldn't risk someone's life in an undercover operation. That left Koda. With his sick grin at the arrival of a heavily armed contractor. Who would have known where and when the Resurgence crew was landing. Who would have had access to that era of weapons technology and access to the security systems of an ST center. His entire campaign had been built on cooperation. But how better to cooperate than when there was no opposition? But he would never admit that. He would have been too careful for it to be an inductive, evidence based investigation. Deduction. Elimination. Just like a Sudoku puzzle.

"Here's hoping we can all grab some drinks and talk later."

Frank moves in towards Aliset paying attention to the shield wall he'd have his reflexes and strength augs on. <Well if the little alien girl is going to attempting undercover stuff might as well make things look good for her.> He thought to himself as he attempted to do a sword bounce, he would use his strength and reflexes to try to hook the shield. knowing instinctually people will pull back and accidently hit themselves with the weapon.
"How's the hip little one?"

Sanda shrugged her shoulders in a 'what can you do' sort of way. She wasn't offended. She knew Zanven had made an honest mistake. It was frustrating sometimes. The amount of work she put in trying to earn those chevrons and all. She would just have to keep working. It was all she could do.

The Ranger smiled and bumped Zan with her shoulder. "Ooo Someone has a cruuuussshhh." She found it amusing that the Zan was blushing so. However when he asked about her own life Sanda's lighting bolt across her eye seemed glow brighter for a moment. She took another sip of her drink before saying almost sheepishly, "I got engaged." She tapped the blade at her side as she thought of Caffran. "I first met him at my sister's wedding. He's a cousin of my brother in law. Ran into him again last year at that IRC. Hit it off really well." As she spoke, Sanda kept her eyes moving, surveying the people and area around her.

"We both carried Straight Silver Blades. When we parted we took each other's blade. We both knew it was an old Nepleslian custom to trade knives when one gets engaged but we never really spoke of it. We just sort of did it and then kind of waited to see what would happen. We hardly spoke for several months because of duty. When we did see each other again at the end of the year and then we just... knew."

It looked like the next match was getting ready to start. Sanda was surprised to see that Frank and that guy who reminded her of Maximus jumping in as well as that Senti woman. "If I'm completely honest. I don't know how we're going to make it work." Sanda was watching the match but she was still talking about Caffran. "He's a Sergeant with the Dion. Neither one of us want to resign. We both love what we do and are proud to serve our respected Nations." This was quite a lot of sharing for Sanda, who usually was very quite about her personal life. "But I lo..." Sanda suddenly realized just how much she had been sharing and snapped out of it.

She finished her glass and placed it on the tray of a passing server. "Sorry about that. For a moment I forgot what we're suppose to be doing. I'm going to make a few laps around the room. Meet you back up on the other side."

Koda moved ahead of his team, making a bee-line for Alisets position. Koda swung his club in a seemingly huge arc over his head. As it was coming down, the shield from Alisets right appeared to intercept it. The shield held. A Crack echoed throughout the hold as the AXL Kodian holding it let out a sickening roar of pain as his radial burst forth in a gruesome display of a compound fracture. Koda backed away to prepare a follow up...

Anslen move up beside Koda, when he had been in the army he had been a blacksmith and they had been fighting with what to Yamatai were primitive tools. However, they were the primitive tools that he now had. Not letting the wall break was important. So he moved up next to Koda to defend his right side from an attacker. He trusted the person on his right to do their job. He reached his sword forward to hit the shield of the person in front of him to remind him that someone was still there who would take advantage of any lapse. But his mind was primarily on the defense of Koda.

As Aliset cried out from the shot to her hip, she looked up to see Chairman Koda's strike, and saw the spray of blood from the compound fracture as her teammate swooped in to save her. And the sudden realization hit that even if she had brought her sheield up in time, that strike had been meant to kill her. That if it had connected, it likely would have crushed her ribcage and sent her sprawling.

Okay, chairman, gonna fight dirty? Two can play that game. How's your shield held together... Her eyes scanned the front cloth of his shield, finding the bands holding the wood together, but more importantly, finding the rivets holding his hand boss in place. If she could land a tackle right there...

Aliset exploded from beneath her savior's shield, accelerating hard as the Chairman backed off to prepare another strike, a battlecry ripping her vocal chords as she leapt, her four hundred pound mass torpedoing itself with a vicious shoulder check directly into the center boss of his shield, hoping to break the hold points or catapault her away from the giant Kodian who had attempted a cheap shot.

NARA

Nara's violet hues caught Itami's non-verbal signal to check the rafters. Her head looked up to the rafters for anything suspicious. When finished with inspection of the overhead her gaze fell back to Chef.

Her nose wrinkled in distaste whilst her other hand moved back as if to slap his cheek. Luckily he withdrew his hand from hers and played it off well. She rested her hand back to where it had been and watched Miko trod off with narrowed eyes. Steathily she drifted threw the crowd keeping vigilant for anything that did not belong.

Nara's observation of the ceiling of the room seemed to find nothing, except for a moment. A faint glimmer, as if there were a heat distortion. A friendly Star Army IFF indicator signaled her, and allowed Nara to dismiss the observation and move on.

Anslens adversary was content to exchange blows and ward off strikes, waiting for a signal from his team captain to do anything more drastic.

Itami

With the fact that a good 70% of those at this gala were focused on the game which was being played this allowed Itami to focus more on anything that was out of the ordinary, be it the glinting of metal being drawn or undue hostility. He would continue to scan the surrounding area as he walked, stepping up beside Nara. He had noticed all of the attention which Miko was raining down upon her, and to him it seemed to be a family trait among the Belmonts. "Also, my mother is doing quite well, I will pass your regards on to her." With that tiny bit of pleasantry out of the way, it was back to business. "Have you noticed anything in your own sweeps, Nara? So, far there is nothing out of the ordinary, but that can quickly change."

77

77 was content to remain on the shuttle, as him showing his face would cause quite a stir. He wasn't needed to hobnob with the VIPs. He was there in case the shit hit the fan.

Zanven didn’t push the misunderstanding further as Sanda shrugged. Then the back and forth started as her first reply was to tease him about Sakuko. He chuckled as he knew she was just doing this lightheartedly, and when nudged he nearly burst out into laughter. “You know what…you may be right.” He said under his breath as Sanda began to speak once more.

She explained about her engagement and his eyebrows raised with surprise and he made a face that said “nice!” Before taking a finishing drink as she explained that the two didn’t talk much for a time but where they met as well as following a certain Nep. Tradition of blades. “Sounds like your fiancé is quite the catch then if you have put that much effort in, as for your mutual futures…talk face to face. Take shore leave and figure out what the two of you want to do…follow your heart and hold honor in your respective service…that’s…how my mother and father acted and such.” He said in quick response as she seemed to come to a stop suddenly.

After a few moments of watching the new second round of the game Sanda apologized for sharing so much and Zanven simply placed a hand on her shoulder. “We are compatriots and I have your back and trust you…so I take what you say in confidence and I’m happy to know that at least we are friendly enough that you can share some personal stories with me.” He said as he realized that she was right and with a light sigh he looked at his glass before setting it on an empty table that seemed to be the resting place for a few glasses. “You are right, we do have a mission, and we should get back to it. If you need me, I’m just a message away.” He said before walking back along the edge of the crowd as he was now blending in with everyone.

He looked back at the shuttles as he was taking note of any other craft in the area. Flyboy still was a pilot after all and had to keep his eyes peeled for any aircraft that looked to be a threat.

Frank would chuckle as he remembered the rules stated that the players couldn't use their weapon to hit someone only the weapon or shield. Turning hed let the next fighter to swing at him only for him to catch it with his face and then attempt to uppercut the player with the edge of his shield. "How you feeling over there space girl? I tried my best not to aim for the dent in your side." he states tapping his head. "targeting computer good for spotting weaknesses."

The Kodian opposite Frank plowed a dulled wooden sword into Franks face, a flashing red warning popped up on franks HUD that the structural integrity of his frontal cranium was very near collapse. As Franks shield connected with the Kodian, it bit down on the edge of his shield ripping an eight inche chunk away and leaving a bloody canine where the piece of Franks shield had been.

Frank chuckled his face wrinkled where the blow had hit him in the face stretching the artificial flesh and giving it several tears revealing a metal and biomechanical structure underneath. a few strey sparks shot out of the damaged components. as frank set the nanites to repair the structural damage. <estimated time to complete task 12 hours.> frank read as he let out as sight extending his wooden sword twords the attacker. "good shot, got another one in you?" he said before noticing his hud began flashing. <temporary shutdown to expedite process> "Ah fuck" Frank stated before eating floor face first. as his body shut down to self repair quicker.

Sassa’s scans of the cooking area didn’t reveal anything of particular note, beyond seasonings and supplements. At the very least, she learned how to skin, prepare, and grill a fish in accordance with the style of Kodian cuisine. She might be able to use that knowledge later to cook something unique for someone special. Unfortunately, learning how to prepare a fish wasn’t the objective of her mission, nor was it immediately useful towards helping her carry it out.

Quickly eating the fish she had prepared during the lesson, Sassa offered the Chef a grateful smile, accompanied by an informal bow before leaving as the cooks prepared to teach the next group of curious foreigners. With that, Sassa moved to link up with the others and monitor the ongoing shield wall game.

Even from a distance, Sassa could tell that it was getting dangerous.

//Hoshi-Hei, Brax-Hei, the cooks and the kitchen areas look clear.// Sassa reported via telepathic transmission as she made for the drinks bar, which would be sent to Sanda’s cybernetics or her personal device. //No signs of any intended foul play.// The Infantry Nekovalkyrja added. //Anything to report on your ends?//

Zanven circled around back to the bar as he ordered another drink, this time he just wanted a club soda as he watched the exchange out with Frank and the Kodian. He moved his eyes away and back towards the podium that the large bear stood and announced this little game. Frank could handle himself as he received his drink, he tipped the bartender as he received the message from Sassa. He responded as he continued to move about near the edges of the crowd. "Things are showing clear for me as well...no more shuttles coming in, and from what it looks like...Our dear contractor compatriot has his hands tied with his own engagement. Let's mingle with the guests a little." He said in his comms quietly as he spotted a couple of the interns...or something to that effect for the AXL members.

He walked by and was drinking his drink pretending to just be another drunken Yam Empire VIP that made it to the party. His suit did not show his rank or such as he did not pack the adequate attire for an official military party. So in order to continue playing the part he just tumbled a few times before taking a seat near the AXL pawns and he hummed a small tune as he focused himself to listen to anything that they might be saying.

"I just don't understand it," said one guest at the dinner party, a young Minkan woman with fiery red hair. "Why would anyone want to hurt the Kodians? They've been nothing but peaceful since they joined the Empire. Have you heard the latest about the attack on Gashmere City? It's just awful. The death toll is rising and the number of refugees is overwhelming. But what's even worse is the blame game that's started. I've been hearing people say it's the fault of the Alien Peace Council or the Anti-Xeno League."

"It's true, that's ridiculous. Neither of those groups have any reason to attack Gashmere City." said another guest, a middle-aged man with a thick mustache. "And the Anti-Xeno League has always been clear that they don't condone violence against any species. They're simply against the over-reliance on the Empire and conservation of their traditions and culture."

"Exactly," said a third guest, a tall, slender woman with a pixie cut. "And the Alien Peace Council has always been a vocal advocate for interspecies understanding and cooperation. They would never support attacks on the Kodians. I think the real problem is that people are looking for someone to blame. They want to make sense of this senseless act of violence. It's important to remember that the Kodians are victims here and they need our support. We should be focusing on helping them, not pointing fingers."

"I couldn't agree more," said the fourth guest, a Kodian in a formal suit. "My people have always been welcomed with open arms by the Empire and its citizens. We will not be defined by the actions of a few hateful individuals. It's especially unfortunate because it's causing more harm to the Kodians. We're already dealing with the loss of our homes and loved ones."

Mikodimus walked onto the stage with his head held high. He knew all too well the odds that were against him. In a straight up fight he'd find himself dead in no time. He'd have to play a game of dodge if he hoped to live long enough for him to make a difference. The goal wasn't to take out an opponent but instead be a distraction for the rest of his team. Miko has setup himself on the flank of Koda, letting him take lead.

Miko scanned the fight as things moved into position. He watched as Koda went straight for Alisetm, a smart move given that he may consider her the weaker foe. Which true or not still worked like a charm as he watched her team mate move to protect her. The impact sent chills down his spine as the Kodian pulled back from the impact. He figured that Aliset would have regrouped but instead went straight for Koda. Posed to strike the moment to strike clicked. Miko launched himself forward and used Koda like a climbing pole. Miko catapulted himself up and over his teammate. And aimed directly for Aliset on his decent. He figured her team mates would step in and work to strike him away. An impact he best dodge else end up like Frank who he seen was eating floor.

Mikodimus' aerial maneuver was truly inspired, allowing him to precisely dodge the counter swing from an AXL Kodians glaive. Many of the crowd were impressed with the finesse which he displayed during the jump. As Miko descending from the apex of the jump however, he found himself in a rather unique predicament. Miko had placed himself between Koda and Koda's intended target. Unprepared for his own team mate to be willing to strike him, Kodas club slammed into Mikos right thigh, dislocating his hip and leaving multiple breaks in Mikos pelvis as the minkans body somersaulted away to the side.

Gasps of shock and horror shook the crowd as the other Kodians on the field quickly restrained Chairman Koda, the Kodians eyes had become bulging and blood shot, the veins in his thick neck and head visibly pulsing even through his fur. Gutteral Roars escaped from his maw as it took five full grown Kodians to tackle him and hold to the ground....

Miko smiled at Koda as Miko's body took the blow. Prepared or not for the hit, it was not unexpected of an event. Seeing how much brute force Koda had put into his attack, had little doubt that he intended to kill. While he was on the opposite team, he had no intension of letting Aliset take one for the team. He took the impact like a champ, gliding across the air like a butterfly with a missing wing. He impacted the ground using the shield to lessen the blow. He somersaulted to a halt after a few rolls.

Miko reached down and could tell his leg was a little out of alignment. His digital mind reassuring him he'd live but had a broken pelvis and dislocated hip. He rolled onto his back and let his arms flop to the side. He then started to laugh. He remembered the story Alastair had shared with him regarding a certain Aliset and his damaged pelvis. Intended or not Aliset was turning into the destroyer of Belmont pelvis.
