Candon stood casually on the landing pad just under the engines of his recently purchased, brand new Ge-L5-1A - Issoku-Class Cargo Runner. Part of him still couldn't believe that he was just 'handing the keys' to a man he didn't even know because he trusted the guy. Candon couldn't help but question his young friend's sense of judgement after receiving 30 million KS to just 'pay back whenever' but if there was anything he'd learned from his business with Uso it was that sometimes risks can carry great rewards. This was just another one of those risks.

Flynn cautiously approached the landing pad, his old instincts forcing him to keep an eye out for signs that this was a trap. It was almost too convenient, being contacted by Jax so soon after having screwing up on that last job. The cargo had reached its destination, sure, but he'd gotten his hands dirty in the wrong kind of way. Kill a pirate? Who cares? Kill a lawman? It was only a matter of time before they came back after you. He reassured himself that his tracks were covered. And, he told himself, even if Jax had joined the Star Army, he was still a friend. He'd come a long way from being that quiet, socially-awkward freshman sitting in the back of the class, but he was still Jax and would never sell him out like that.

Flynn climbed the stairs to the tarmac, first catching a glimpse of the Issoku. He'd flown a few of those over the years. They were great for speed and stealth. But then, he saw the man standing beneath the ship itself, and his heart stopped. He had a certain look about him, one that he'd gotten to know during the course of his career. Looks could be deceiving, but Flynn would bet all of his remaining cash that this man was a SAINT operative. A spook that walked through the fine grey areas of good and evil. An expert killer who could make you disappear without a trace, and receive no negative repurcussions from his actions. His eyes narrowed dangerously, and his hand drifted into his jacket to feel the rubberized grip of his SiZi 38. But, Flynn took a breath and calmed himself. If SAINT wanted him that badly, he wouldn't be breathing right now. The ex-smuggler released his hold on the weapon, zipped up his jacket to hide the holster, and climbed the rest of the way, coming into full view of Candon.

"Mr. Suites. A pleasure." he greeted curtley, extending his hand as he approached. "Jax told me you were looking for a pilot."

"Not just a pilot," Candon answered flatly, extending his hand to shake, "It's nice to meet you Mr. Blackburn. Have you ever flown this model of ship?"

"Plenty. Over five hundred hours logged." he replied, looking the ship up and down. "What else, if not just a pilot?"

"I want a captain and a business partner. I'm starting a shipping service and I want all of my captains to be responsible for their ship's operations and able to work both independently an cooperatively," Candon explained as if it was already the norm, "At the end of each month the company will take forty percent of your net profits until the freighter is paid off, then it will only be 20 percent and the ship is yours. There will be perks for staying on with the company after paying off the ship. The company is not operating yet so all profit goes in your pocket for now. If you choose to join your first task will be to start making business connections starting with the one's I've established.
What do you think?"

Flynn mulled over this for a moment. This was exactly what he needed. A source of legal income that could get him out of the smuggling business for good. A steady job that he could tell his mother about without lying through the skin of his teeth. But, a small part of him argued, he'd grown addicted to the thrill of the chase. A regular shipping company would mean long hours in hyperspace with no action. He'd be flying to regular old starports, dropping the cargo, and turning around to carry more back. That wasn't his idea of exciting.

But then, he looked at the ship more closely. The Issoku wasn't a normal ship used by standard shipping companies. It was fast, and well armed. It was a smuggler's favorite. He didn't say it out loud, but he had a deep suspicion that a shipping service ran by a spook would be anything but "standard".

"I'm in." he said finally.

"Really?" Candon asked as if he'd been expected to be more persuasive, "Jax told you that you'd be working in unclaimed space at times too, right? I mean, are you comfortable with a job that demands this caliber of weaponry?" He pointed to one of the anti-armor cannons.

Flynn responded with a small grin.

"Mr. Suites, let's just say that... I've done this before." he replied, the tone of his voice telling the SAINT operative all he needed to know.

"Excellent!" Candon declared, handing Flynn a datapad, "fill out the forms and you're all set. Also, I want you to memorize this name. Uso Tasuki, she's your first call, her contact information is stored on the 'pad. She always gets top priority. Alright? Alright. It looks like we're set here. Take care of my ship!" Candon rambled as he made his way off the landing pad.

Flynn cocked an eyebrow and looked down at the data pad.

"Uso Tasuki..." he muttered under his breath as he signed. He smiled. Life was looking up for him.
