Over the past few days decorations were strung up, even as repairs and patches were being made. Garland ran the corridors and the ships interior light, the ones that still worked, changed to give the appearance of holiday lights. With in the main mess hall a large tree was put up with gifts being laid below, and every meal the option of spiced hot buttered rum and egg nog were being offered. Even the smell of fresh pumpkin pie was bing pumped through out the ship to A. make the feeling of the holiday complete, and B. (Almost more importantly...) to help cover the smell of burnt wiring and cooked bulkheads.
Everyone aboard found a gold box, in front of their doors, with a Holiday Kit (type 36). The name tag was beautifully handwritten with each of their names and ranks. Ontop of the box was a neatly folded Stocking with their given name scrolled along the top white fringe. Along with the kits Yule music was played through out the whole of the ship over the intercom, though secondary to any priority message. Even the Chef medical officer Henry Blake got into the spirit and switched over to a St. Nick hat with the fish hooks and a few tree ornaments.
The tree in the Mess, standing over twenty feet high with a base reaching out almost as much, was decorated with glass bulb painted to look like different planets, star ships and star fighters. A few shuttle ornaments flickered lights as they rotated among the branches. Crowing the tree was a large gas giant panted bulb with the Soyokaze orbiting it, making a complete rotation ever few minutes. There were also blue and silver garland runs twirling up with in the pine needles, and white led lights dancing about from a few volumetric projectors placed along the ceiling around the tree.
