An Ominous Appearence

Some eight million kilometres within GSA territory borders a single point in the endless invisible energy filled vacuum of space exploded with a cascade of high energy particles before vanishing moments later leaving a small misshaped ship behind within the unknown. The obsidian coloured vessel resembled a giant arachnid stretching only five hundred meters in width and three hundred meters in length with long scaly legs protruding from the triangular shaped centre segment.

The entire surface appeared to shift and shimmer as if it were alive which in fact the surface and the majority of the interior of the vessel was constructed by billions upon billions of individual replication blocks barely detectable by modern quantum-scale telescopes, these countless replication blocks constantly shifted across the surface providing an analogous harmony of energy throughout the entire arachnid vessel whose wraithlike form slid silently across the vacuum expanse. A small dorsal segment gradually formed into a cluster of transmission arrays assembled from thousands of replicator blocks in a matter of mere seconds. Crawling to a stop the arachnid frigate releases a burst tachyon transmission containing a simple greeting in mathematical form.
 
Chujo Kemitha Jeiriel, Captain of the Yuumi-class battleship YSS Jaren (YB-39) in the 3rd Star Army Expleditionary Fleet, was imformed of the transmission shortly afterward by her sensor and communications officer. A few minutes later, the YSS Jaren sent back a subspace transmission with the first 1024 prime numbers, followed by simple instructions on how to encode and decode standard unencrypted civilian voice, data, and, visual transmissions, all in a mathematical format. A copy of the original message and the response were sent back to Tami Star Fortress as well.
 
The received data transmission is quickly translated and analysed, and a comprehensive dictionary is assembled from past communication chatter intercepted by tiny, stealthed Neocron probes that still drift unzealously along the very fringe of the galaxy, capturing backwash radio, laser, microwave and tachyon subspace signal radiation.

The Arachnid frigate disgorges several more probes constructed from the same microquantum replication material as the frigate before transmitting an auditory greetings message translated into the native language of the nekovalkyrja followed by a request of audience before GSA superiors.
 
The Neocron recieved a response after some delay caused by debate over such a meeting. The YSS Jaren relayed, "We would prefer ranged communications at this time." Full scans were conducted on the frigate at maximum resolution. Clearly, the Star Army didn't find any trust for them just yet.
 
Via YSS Jaren, a message was relayed from the Tami star fortress to the arachnid frigate, requesting a list of topics that the visitors wished to discuss.
 
Tracing the precise coordinates the reply was transmitted from, the arachnid frigates internal mechanisms reconfigured to transmit a fold holotransmission to the the Star Fortress. Once the transmission was accepted, the live holograph materialized out of thin air, resembling a human female measuring 5' 8â€
 
A simple text message was sent to the arachnid frigate:

Greetings.

I'm Taisho Henry Chen of Her Majesty's 3rd Expeditionary Fleet. The Empire is very much interested in a military alliance against the QIS, as the Qel'Norans have been most ruthless in their attacks against our civilians. However, there are several things that I would like to have clarified before this conversation continues further.

1. Please identify yourselves.

2. Please tell me your own reasons for carrying out military actions against the QIS.

That is all. Thank you.

A reply was quickly assembled and transmitted back to the GSA in textual format containing the following response.

"We the Neocron Ascendancy implore you to adhere allegiance for reasons surrounding the ongoing QIS expansion activities which have infringed upon Neocron territory for several times now, however we can only remain restrained from perusing retaliatory action for so long, and now that time has grown beyond tolerable margin and we now pursue a retributive act against the QIS tyrants.

Join our equally advantageous cause and together we shall test our resolve against the tyrants beneath a united banner and drive out the oppressors who seek to enslave countless millions for their own fanatical goals of galactic domination... what say you?"

The text message ended, and the arachnid frigate remained statuesquely silent within the cold void, awaiting the highly anticipated GSA response.
 
"So long as you do not intrude upon us, we will support you in your efforts to eradicate the QIS empire. They are akin to a disease, and the malady of their existance must be cured. Further relations between us would be good, too. Tell us about yourself, if you don't mind."
 
"We have no reason to disclose such information at this time, however when and if our pleasant relations mature we will provide further information on our society."

With that last message the arachnid frigate effortlessly rotated 160 degrees and darted off into the bottomless void before melting into spacetime leaving nothing behind but sparkling elements of anti-particles scattered across the cosmos to prevent accurate tracing of the frigates temporal phase jump.
