NSS Oracle:
Briefing Room 1:

A few hours after the flight had landed aboard the NSS Oracle, the home of Aquila Flight, Nero found himself walking the halls once more. He breathed in deeply and let out a long sigh. He had missed this ship...

He waited for everyone to finish their showers and report for the debriefing, taking long drags on his cigarette and letting the smoke out slowly. Once everyone was assembled, he dropped it to the floor and snuffed it out with the heel of his boot.

"Not bad Aquilas, not bad... but there needs to be some improvement. We need are one flight, one team. We have to work on our unit cohesion. You aren't a one man army out there." He said looking everyone in the eye. one by one as to drive home the point. "There will be training exercises like the one you just experienced while the Oracle is preparing to depart the system. Now are there any questions? if not you are free to go, for the evening... However, I do owe the first round of drinks tonight so don't miss out. It won't happen again." He added with a slight smile.

Edward was making the final touches on his moustache curls. Ensuring they would hold for a while. He twirled like a villain out if the old movies as he looked into the mirror.

The only thing shattering that vision was the cartoon playing on the propped up Datajockey beside the mirror. It was one of the newest episodes of the re-started cartoon, Happy Hour, on Nepflix.

Edward gave a deep chuckle as Happy the Squirrel bashed yet another Red over the head with a comically large acorn in 'defense' of the Nepleslian way of life.

Edward shut the pad off, tucked it into a cargo pocket, grabbed his Orders folder and headed out into the familiar corridors of the Oracle. He ran his hand along the side as if he was remembering the vessel even by touch, as if to say, "Hello again old friend."

He reached the briefing room and stepped in and promptly fell flat on his face. Luckily his hands broke his fall but it was still a gasp inducing moment to those watching.

"Mother trucker! Every trucking time," Edward exclaimed. He rolled into his back and gave a deep frustrated sigh as if to say, 'Why me?'. He sat, then stood up dusting himself off and scrambling to repack his folder, the papers now totally out of sequence. His face was red with embarrassment.

He eventually saluted Nero, "Sir, Lieutenant Donato reporting...um...again...sir" Edward gave a small smile and a shrug.

Briefing Room 1:

Paul "Doc" Dyre made his way into the briefing room, watching the Lieutenant stumble and fall. Paul struggled to stifle a laugh, taking a deep breath and stepping into the room. He sat at the table, listening to his superior speak. He was right, they needed unit cohesion, and in order for them all to come home safe, they needed to have each others' backs, not rush in alone. He also liked the idea of a free drink.

He stood and saluted the Captain, taking his leave and exiting the room to find the crew lounge. He had found a new novel he wanted to read, and started to make his way to his bunk where he had left it.

Briefing Room 1:

Charles gave out a childish laugh when the lieutenant fell, and then contemplated the idea of drinking with his comrades. "This will actually be the first time I'll have been drinking in the military."

Briefing Room 1:

A light hiss emitted from the door as Miranda walked in, head lowered as she busied herself perusing something on her Datajockey. As the door slid shut behind her, she let off a soft murmur of dissatisfaction and looked up, snapping to attention at the sight of Crux and the others. "Good evening, sir." she intoned coolly, giving a polite nod towards the other member of the original Aquilas. "Edward, a pleasure meeting you again."

Briefing Room 1:

Nero scanned meeting each person's gave to make sure they did not having something else to ask when a familiar face stumbled through the door. "If it isn't Lt. Donato." Nero said looking down with a smile. "You really need to tie your shoes son... I can't have you tripping all over the place." He stepped down and clasped the man on the shoulder. "Welcome back."

He turned and saluted Miranda as she entered. "We are heading to the crew lounge Lt. Bannings, and I have first round." He informed her.

When he heard the newbies words, Nero had to stop himself grinning to widely. "Well then... this will be interesting." He said, already thinking up the strongest brew he could think of.

"Let's go then." He said to the flight. He lead them through the halls of the Oracle and brought them to the wardroom. Once inside he sent them to a large table with enough chairs to accommodate them all as he ordered and payed.

A few moments later he placed a shot glass full of an amber liquid infront of each of them. He then raised his own. "Time for you newbies to learn the Aquila motto. 'Watch the skies, because the Birds of Prey are here to play." He said raising his glass as he finished and downing the contents. A very strong burn could be felt as he downed the alcohol. "So what made you all become pilots in the first place?" He asked as ordered a beer and lit a cigarette.

Edward knew that those in the room were holding in their laughter and he appreciated it mainly because he would be in the same boat if the roles were reversed. He calmly waved hello to Miranda as she entered, "Heya Lieutenant Bannings. Hope you and Help are doing well."

He just worked his mouth in response to Nero's comments. He looked down at his tied shoes and back to the Captain a few times and surrendered, "As you say sir."

He followed along with the group to the Wardroom, remembering that the Captain liked his drink. He made an eww face at the liquor but knew his readmittance to the Flight was very trial based so he vowed to just have one then back to his usual designer coffee's.

To the newer members, after drinking the shot, he asked, "So tell me about that last mission. Did it go well? I'm Edward Donato by the way. EW specialist."
