CCG 2

We need to get the Elysian module of the CCG done. I believe Tyler said he was working on it way back but I haven't seen anything.

I'm willing to help with that. I'm quite good with the whole Graeco-Roman culture thing. Which the Elysians sort of are.

Just the text is fine. That's the important part.

And the Elysian modules are here!

Plebeian:

About the Elysian Plebeian

The Elysian Plebeian makes up the underclass of the Elysian Empire – they are both the majority of the population, the workers and the low rank specialists. It is not only a social rank, but also a racial one – Elysian Plebeians are not pure Elysians, but are ‘tainted' with human blood which makes them smaller, weaker and as the Patricians (and indeed the Plebeians) see it – inferior.

In appearance the Elysian Plebeian is similar to the human, normally somewhat taller than a human but with poor posture which bring their normal stature to only around six feet. As notable from their mongrel heritage this is largely variable – along with much of an Plebeian's physique. They are usually malnourished, and so their physical strength is usually below that of a human – and the wings on their backs are normally small, scrawny and completely useless. Plebeians rarely live over the age of sixty due to poor living conditions.

Plebeians are fiercely subservient to their Patrician masters and to their nation, but also have a knack at surviving and ingenuity bred by their difficult lives.

Playing the Elysian Plebeian

The Plebeians are the workers and the underclass of the empire. Their entire lives are spent working, usually for a Patrician, hard and for little reward. Their personalities are always subservient to those of a higher rank than they are – especially to Patricians, but at the same time they are a very hard work, passionate and in many ways brave people. This bravery and devotion is sprung out of ‘national Kleos' – the idea that they are working for the eternal glory of Elysia. This often leads to the idea that the nation is more important than they are, and a high degree of self-sacrifice.

Plebeians are rarely educated, but posses an eager intellect and an ingenuity which (when allowed to flourish) can produce remarkable results. They especially have a knack for mechanics and engineering – things which the Patricians consider inferior to art or organic science.

There is a minority of Plebeians who try and emulate Patrician values and whose goal is to themselves become a Patrician. This is in fact a possibility – once a Plebeian reaches a certain social level it is common (if he has proved his worth) to be granted an Archangels body and the position of a Patrician. However for most Plebeians wishing for this is uncouth – they believe that they should know their place.

Plebeians are naturally telepathic, although not to the same degree as a Patrician. Their telepathic talent is almost never trained, and rarely utilised, but your average Plebeian can communicate telepathically over a range of 1km. Telepathic ability, like much about Plebeian physiology, is variable – some (unlikely to be a PC) show remarkable ability.

Plebeians have small wings on their backs, but on almost all cases these serve no purpose. They often have muddy coloured feathers (some unfortunate Plebeians never grow feathers and have naked wings) and are nowhere near large or strong enough to glide upon – let alone fly with.

Appearance:

Plebeians vary enormously in appearance – the exact amount their genetic material has been ‘tainted' by that of ‘inferior breeds'. Thus some look more like normal humans, while others look more like Patricians. However there are several features which they all share due to their lifestyles.

Almost all Plebeians are ill nourished: Plebeians do not have enough food to keep themselves well fed. While this has improved in recent years due a slightly more compassionate government, it remains true that the average Plebeian is very thing, scrawny and relatively weak. It is only their Elysian heritage which means that their strength is only a little below that of a Nepleslian.

All Plebeians are somewhat alien: This is to say that there is something strange about a Patrician as seen by a human. They have a certain angularness about the face, a certain angelic set to them that makes them look a little ethereal. And of course they have wings.

I hope there isn't a rank limit to suggesting races.

Merianus:

About the Merianus:

Merianus[Mare-ee-AH-nus] are the last of the remaining sentient races of Renegole[Ren-AH-goal], a planet ravaged by usual wars between small nations. The Merianus are the main citizenry of planetary empire called 'Bastilia'[Buh-Stillee-AH] that had conquered a quater of the planet in their rise to power[And have almost conqured the entire planet presently.] Bastilia's key to this was the stalwart loyalty, respect, and adaptablity of the Merianus.

Generally Humanoid, the Merianus are a tall, stocky, usually bearded, long-eared race. They show themselves proudly no matter how they look, this being apart of their heritage. They usually have darker skin, nearly all of it being tough and rough, than most races. Beards are a sign of social status among the Merianus, the more well kept or neatly decorated the beard, the 'cooler' one look(This, of course, does not apply to women. It is also important to say that it doesn't matter how long it is, just if you have one.) The last of these traits to develop are the natural markings that would appear on a Merianus' body, these can range to any shape and prominence. Younger Merianus(Considered 15 and Below) will not show as much of their physical traits as the Older Merianus.

It must be said that Merianus are aggressive to/as opponents, they don't take losing or challenges lightly. However, they make excellent allies, holding their friends back until the brutal(doesn't have to be brutal) end.

Playing the Merianus

A religous, loyal, respectful, hardy race, the Merianus roots are deep within a Ancient Heritage. Though when a person spends time with a Merianus, they'll learn soon enough that their true purpose is battle. Once a shamanistic race, the Merianus were driven to war by surrounding tribes that wished to take their lands. Though, not naturally suited for combat, the Merianus quickly adapted to the new concept. Their ideals changed along with bodies, years of combat turned them into a rough and aggressive race.

When they became this, they began to come together, learning to become tightly-knit groups. With this came honor, loyalty, and respect to the known, and dislike, suspicion, and disrespect to the unknown. Merianus find it very difficult to trust a person when first meeting them, making it seem that they are solitary and uncaring of others. However, this is very untrue, and saying this to a Merianus would cause them to dislike the accuser more. When one was to finally make friends to a Merianus, one will have gained a close and protective ally/friend.

The teachings of values and lifestyle come from the Merianus' shamanistic backgrounds and is one of the only things that survived their change. In the old days(and still now, yet seems less prominent) the Merianus worshiped the Guardians. These Guardians were beings of great power, said to have formed Renegole from their bare hands. A Merianus often will take preference to one of these guardians to suit their lifetstyle. They often ask for their blessings before taking off to do what they do. The Guardians list as this(So if your a choosing to be a Merianus[don't have to be a Merianus though], you can say things like "By Colter!" In whatever context:)

Colter
Guardian of Goodness, and selfless acts. She is said to bless those who are: noble, helpful, selfless, and only requires that a believer at least give a good prayer every once in awhile.

Walther
Guardian of Wisdom, and the pursuit of knowledge. She is said to bless those who are: smart, intellectual, hold knowledge important, and of high mental aptitude. She only wishes for a person to learn something new with every chance(Don't take this literally, just absorb whatever knowledge you can.)

Blazer
Guadian of Greed, and selfish acts. He is said to bless those who are: greedy, look out for number one, wish for power, and are full of desire. He requires that a person give him credit for an act you asked for blessing.

Due to their adaptations and the planet they live on(Renegole is a Semi-Artic Planet, with only a bit of temperate vegetation at the equator), Merianus do not like hot weather or places. They prefer stay in colder or at least warm places that keep the harsh heat off of them. For Merianus, it's all about climate, a Merianus will respond better in cold to moderately tempatured areas. However a Merianus will falter quickly in hot areas, almost drowning in sweat. The reason for all of this is their adaptability, it will adapt deeply, but slowly into it's eviroment.

A Bastilian's native tounge is 'Bastil', a language that focuses on heavy tones. There really is no difficulty in learning Bastil since it is a simple language, and only requires a little practice. However, most races who often talk in lighter, docile, and even average tones make the mistake of talking in their normal tones. This will make a Merianus who is listening either laugh, or think that the person is weak-winded(Anyone who is looking this up just for reference will need to understand that they'll either use this against or for you, depending on your affliation).

Appearence:
The usual outward traits of a race are what make it unique, the Merianus' most prominent trait are their one-foot-long ears. These are not just for show, they also serve as an ability to hear small to distant noises. A Merianus would only have to lift it's ears to hear something small or distant. The vibrations of the ears pick up the sound and deliver it to the ear(The structure of the ear prevents it from picking up small to distant sounds when they are down). The ears can also be an outward show of emotion. Along with the ears, comes the Merianus hair, which grows rather fast.

Merianus are tall and muscular, but they are not only muscular. Due to extreme colds, the Merians have a layer of fat that keeps them warm on the inside(This trait is not most noticeable[except that it makes the muscles only slightly less noticable], unless the Merianus is a fat slob.) Women tend to be more slender due to their thinner bones which make them lighter. However, this does not make them weaker than the men, some tend to have more muscle than men to make up for their weaker bones.

Merianus do not vary to widely due to the fact that nearly all Merianus live in Bastilia. So most of them will share appearence and similarities, but that does not mean they all look the same. Mentioned above the Merianus have prominent beards and hair. Their hair has a knack for growing quickly. This often leads to a large variety of styles that the Merianus choose at leisure. Jewerly for ears, arms, legs, necks, heads, hair, and beards are also one of the keys to individuality among Merianus.

Males: Are usually muscular, and if they care, are well kept. Their beards will usually start growing at 5, this is not considered part of puberty though.

Hmm. It needs an illustration. Many CCG pages do.
