RP: The Wayward Distant Memories (Ep. 2.0)

Syaoran

Retired Staff
Dawn Station - Docks

The crew had been given some down time to relax and purchase whatever they needed, they had been told the contractor was not quite ready. That was a few days ago however, and they had been assembled today to take care of matters involving getting the ship ready to launch while Tanja took a newly purchased truck to go pick up their new 'boss' for the short term.

Tanja's truck pulled up to the cargo ramp of the Anbruch and along with the equipment inside there was also an extra passenger, a Qel'noran male, it was easy to assume this was Rulloo, the client for the job they were about to take. Though his frame was large, he was a bit thinner than would be expected and his red skin was losing some color, denoting his age.

The truck drove up onto the ramp and into the ship and Tanja stepped out, helping their guest and even lifting all his luggage, which was quite a large load mostly full of equipment.

As she took him further into the ship to get him acquainted with his room, she spoke up over the com line, which was tied into the ship's own communications systems and put the message over the internal PA. "This is your captain, is everything ready for departure?"

Anbruch Engine Room

Analiese had spent most of her time inside the engine room, getting to know it. She knew that today they would be heading out, but she kept herself busy with taking things apart and putting them right back together, not wanting to alter anything without first knowing how it worked. She heard the question over the com, and took a deep breath before letting it out slowly. She was working on her own little project, so she could get to the com unit in the engine room and report over. "Engines are running smoothly, Captain."

She smiled a little to herself. It had taken some time, but she had gotten to at least become more open towards the others. She still has her moments when something would trigger, but for the most part she has gotten used to her freedom.

Anbruch - Random Hallway

Embel smiled and answered her personal com unit "Hey there captain, I am ready for departure, if anyone needs help I will come and help them anyway I can." Her tail swayed as she talked, she had started to make her way through the hallways and towards the cabins "Captain, my training is as a bodyguard, may I come down and introduce myself to the client."

Anbruch - Cargo Hold

"That would be nice Embel, I'll have you be his guard on planet as well." She spoke into the radio as she reached the cabins with Rulloo a few moments after Embel.

Rulloo was taller than Tanja and very much so taller than Embel, without knowing that he was a scientist it would seem odd for such a large creature to need the protection of one so much smaller. "Thank you for your assistance" He spoke with just a slight hiss to this voice as he offered a small bow to Embel.

Tanja smiled and moved the luggage into cabin B-2, placing it down on the floor. "Embel can you help him get settled in why we get the ship out of dock? I'll be on the bridge." She gave Embel a pat on the shoulder and headed for the bridge.

"Hugar, start the flight check." the Abwehran captain spoke as she walked at a leisurely pace.

"Roger" The large Helashio replied. He had been on the bridge, doing as much research as he could on their future destination, unfortunately there was little information out there about this mysterious planet called Zath-Nianach. After his orders though he put all that aside and made sure all seals were shut and went through engine and computer test.

"Quinn, and Annaliese, can I get you two to the bridge a moment, I want to see you in person for a little." Tanja said over the comm lines as she stepped onto the bridge and sat in the captain's chair.

Engineering, Corridors and Bridge

Ana sighed softly to herself before she responded, "On my way." She hated leaving her projects unfinished, but she also noted that she was rather hungry. Maybe she could stop by the kitchens on her way back and get something to eat. She wiped her hands as best as she could with the rag in her pocket. Her gloves were in another pocket, which she kept forgetting to use. Now that she was in her element, she had grease and dirt all over her once again.

Ana stepped out into the corridor, turning the correct way towards the bridge. She had gotten to know the layout of her new home as quickly as possible. She was tempted to go to the kitchens first, but she didn't want to keep Tanja waiting too long. She kept to a route that would not put her past anyone else and entered the bridge.

Stopping for a moment, Ana once more took in the sight of the bridge. She knew it wasn't fancy or special...but for her it was pretty impressive. She had never seen one before, not even the one on the ship in which she was taken. She always felt more dirty than she was whenever she came in here...even though the place wasn't that much cleaner. If anything, the cleanest place was the kitchen...which was odd in itself! At least, as far as Analiese could tell.

Once her moment was over, Ana stepped up towards Tanja. "You wanted to see me, Captain?" She was still meek in her speech with Tanja, but had become less submissive. Or at least tried to be.

Cabin B-2

Embel smiled at the very tall man and curtsied "The pleasure is all mine sir~~" she sat on the bed "I will be sticking very close to you as your bodyguard, would you like help unpacking, or would you like something else sir?"

Cabin B-2

Rulloo gave a nod to Embel and started to unpack, the first luggage he chose seemed to be a personal computer and what looked like a small research lab. "Some help would be nice. I do not know how your captain carried it all in here, but there is quite a bit." The fact that he had chosen to first make sure work related things were situated before personal comfort items said something about his personality.

That was just the first luggage, there were three more sitting around that all looked fairly heavy, just waiting to be opened. "You are..Gartagen correct? I know my way around toolss and technology from around the ssector, but I am not too familiar with the speciess themselvess"

Bridge

Tanja offered a smile to Ana as she arrived and motioned her over. " Heard your situation from Veronica, sorry your journey in space didn't start out on the positive, but we're going to change that." She stood and gave her a soft pat on the shoulder. "That being said though, we're going to need you down on planet when we land. I talked to Rulloo on the way here, and well he thinks there might be some old tech down there, so we might need your insight. I know you aren't familiar with them, but I want you to carry a pistol with you when you're down there, even if it's just for the slim chance you get separated from us."

The captain did not look like she had said everything she wanted, but Hugar spoke up. "Tanja, the station is calling, they say someone wants to speak with you."

Tanja sighed and turned towards the main monitor "Hugar, put it on the monitor."

With the push of a button the monitor changed over from a view of the docks to a view of the communications room, with a young man in the center of the image. His hair was black with blue tips, and a rather unique fashion sense.

Tanja did not miss a beat at seeing the man's young or unique appearance, she had seen far stranger in her career. "I am Tanja Dunst, captain of the Anbruch, what can I do for you?"

Dawn Station Communication Terminal

Nan smirks happily at the screen displaying the Abwehran Captain, "Captain Dunst I imagine, Hi. The name is Jun Nan. I was passing through Dawn Station and saw the Anbruch in dock. Well Nan, I said, that right there is a ship that could use a specialist. A specialist in what, you wonder? Computers, you won't find anyone else who can spin your ship's computers like I can. Plus, I'm loads of fun."

Ana chewed on her inner cheek. She had yet to spend any time one-on-one with Tanja. Or really for anyone else for that matter, save Quinn. She nodded and didn't even cringe at the pat on the shoulder, which was a lot for her still. Nodding, the mechanic kept quiet as the call came in. She figured she would wait to ask questions, so in response to Tanja, she said softly, "I'll be ready when we get there."

She heads out with a small wave to Hugar, needing to get something to eat. She knew that Tanja would either come to her in the engineering room or call for her again should she be needed. Right now, Ana was starving and an apple and peanut butter sounded really good.

Med Bay -> Bridge
Last few things in place Quinn glanced around the room and finding it alright he finally turned and headed out into the hall. Ignoring the newcomer in favor of going up to the bridge. He gave a grin to Ana as he passed her and then stopped in the doorway of the bridge. He watched the exchange between Tanja and the person on the main screen and waited for the captain to notice him.

((OOC; sorry, life sucks ))

Tanja gave a nod to the man on the screen who addressed themself as Nan. "I see, well we could use a computer specialist. However I pay based on performance in our job. I don't pay salaries right now. If you're interested get over here so I can get a look at you, but we won't wait long." She had noticed Quinn stepping in to the room and did not want to draw the conversation out too long and have hin waiting.

She made a motion for Quinn to move closer to her, she had some things to tell him, so she didn't want him leaving of course.

Dawn Station Communication Terminal

Nan nods still smiling with a youthful sparkle in his eyes, "That's fine on the payment, I travel light right now so I am on my way. I won't be long!"

With that, the young Yamataian quickly shuts off the feed, grabs his meager gear and sets off towards the Anbruch's berth.

Anbruch Kitchens

Ana had given Quinn a fleeting smile as she made her way off the bridge. She walked towards the kitchens, keeping her head down so as not to look at anyone in particular. Though she knew that the crew was small, it didn't mean she wouldn't have run into anyone on her way.

Once in the kitchen, she went to where the apples are kept and picked one of the better looking ones. She washed it, then got a knife and cutting board. She sliced it in half, then sliced the halves in half. She then cut the core out at an angle on each of the four pieces before cutting it finally into eighths. She then scrounged around for a bowl and the peanut butter. After that, she got a spoon and scooped some of the peanut butter into a bowl, then put the apples around that. She cleaned up the mess she had made, not wanting to anger Embrel, and then leaned against the counter and ate. She was too hungry to take her food to the Engineering room where she could hide easier.

"Hugar, have the Geboku meet him at the entrance." Tanja gave a quick order to the Helashio before turning her attention to Quinn. "Well before we get into this, have you have made yourself familiar with Qel'noran anatomy? Since he is our employer I'd like medical priority on him mostly."

Hugar typed on the touch panel to send order to the geboku android on board to greet the new comer.

Cargo Hold

The Geboku class android awoke as it received it's relayed orders and then made it's way to the entrance elevator. It made it's way inside and lowered it waiting for the guest to arrive, it's mechanical expression scanning the surroundings.

Docking Bay/Cargo Hold

Nan enters the docking bay and see's the Henkei class starship and grins big, "This is going to be so awesome!"
He practically skips up the ramp to be met by the Geboku class robot. "Hey, Geb. Don't shoot, I come in peace. I'm Jun Nan, the Captain should be expecting me. So...Take me to your leader," he says chuckling to himself

Bridge

Quinn gave Tanja an easy smile. "I can patch up anything minor we might run across, though I'm going to suggest you send him down for a full scan in case I have to delve a little deeper." He said "Otherwise I'm as prepared as I'm going to be." Quinn gave her another bright smile. "As far as the rest of the crew, yourself including, are concerned It might be a wise Idea to have everyone come see me for a bit so I can address any concerns or issues before we get to where we're going."

Bridge

Tanja nodded softly and stroked her chin. "I suppose since we have a real doctor on board then physicals are in order. While we're heading there I'll have the crew come back one at a time. Rulloo isn't a crew member though, so try not to get any sensitive medical information from him unless he brings it up." She sat back in her chair and sighed. "What I wanted to talk to you about though was how much information you had on the guys that were bother you and Analiese. It's not likely we'll see them again but I want to be ready, and Analiese is still pretty jumpy, she's almost radiating nervousness."

Docking Bay

The Geboku stepped forward towards Nan and looked him over with his cold emotionless eyes. The voice was synthetic in all regards, without even an effort to sound natural. "Please hand over any weapons on your person. They will be stored in the weapons locker for the duration of your boarding, should you join the crew, only side arms are to be carried on the ship on a regular basis." The android held it's hands out waiting any weapons to be handed to it.

Docking Bay

"Sure thing," Nan says as he slowly takes out his energy pistol and hands over five metal spheres. "There you go boss. But please be careful with those drones would you?"

Bridge

"Oh." He nodded and walked over to a spot where he could sit down for a moment. He pulled a cable jack free, plugged into the side of his head behind his ear where the ports were for the internal components of his eyes. He brought up clear images of all three men from several angles, as well as a good list of any information he had on them from names said, to obvious information, and even what was said and done around him. "That should be all of it." He said, saving the information in a file and leaving it where Tanja could access it later. He unjacked himself from the terminal and blinked his eye lids several times and then gave her a slight smile. "Having a good memory isn't all it's made out to be, but it proves useful." He got up and stretched a little. "Anything else you need from me?"

Docking Bay

The Geboku too the droids and the gun, heading into the lift with Nan and heading up. Once lift was up and they were in the ship the Geboku walked out and moved to store the weapons in a locker that across from then in what looked like a makeshift gym.

The android did not skip a beat and began walking for the bridge, expecting Nan to follow.

Bridge

Tanja looked a bit confused at what Quinn was doing at first, but then realized and smirked. "Rather convenient method of sharing information, I forgot Nepleslians were fond of such things." She tapped her console and brought the file up to glance it over for a moment. "Hmm I don't have anything else at the moment. You're good to go."

As she spoke that the door to the bridge opened and the Geboku stepped in with the new hopeful in tow. It did not say a word and merely turned around after it's task was complete and walked out.

The captain smiled and motioned Nan in "Come in, I like speaking face to face for business, there's so much missing otherwise."
