During the briefing earlier, Katsuko blinked while droning on about the specifics of their objectives. Suddenly she had dismissed everyone, she and the XO leaving promptly. Before entering the lift, Akina turned. "You have shore leave for forty-eight hours. Do not leave the fleet." before they were gone.
The YSS Hikari, an Ecstasy class recreation vessel, had arrived in the repair interval of the vast fleet, and was already open for business. Akina and Katsuko quickly changed into civilian attire after quick showers, and an hour or two later departed on a shuttle for the vessel. Katsuko had her hair up with chopsticks, and wore a dark purple spaghetti strap top, coming short of her midrift, exposing her stomach and jewelry. Her skirt was a light black. She sat with her legs crossed in the empty shuttle, next to Akina. The Taisa wore a slightly longer skirt, her hair held together down her back by light blue ribbons. She wore a light blue top, with three buttons down the front. Her stomach was not as nearly exposed, a slight hint of flesh apparent. She wore black pants, with a sliver linked belt. Her only other set of civilian clothes. The red twinkle of her nose stud shone in the artificial light of the shuttle.
Aoiko had, at the time, been slightly disconcerted regarding the abrupt dismissal, but she was certainly not about to complain about it. An hour later found her in a white blouse and a black ankle-length skirt, on shuttle to the Hikari. Idly, she paged through a small book catalogue, marking down new releases to look for.
Corro however remained behind as the rest of the crewmen looked forward to the excursion to the newly arrived Ecstasy-class. Inside the main powered armor bay of the Kasairyuu wing, Corro sorted through data pads on each of his underlings. Off and on he would think of returning to his room and readying for a trip to the Hikari, but he needed work to be done. He was one of the only people sitting inside the quiet armor bay.
Around the fleet, many were being given some time off, however not all time on the Hikari, and few unlimited hours to go to it. To avoid crowding, most were sent in shifts. Katsuko had made certain those at the briefing and on certain bridge shifts were given unlimited access, letting the operations command take care of the specifics.
Ziv was rather shocked to hear about the leave when he had just arrived, so he decided to use his time to get settled and get acquainted with the ship. After getting all his things arranged, he decided he should try to find his superior officer, Corro Adlich. "AI, please direct me to the power armor bay."
"Please enter the nearest lift. Your quarters were assigned near it for easy deployment." came the response. It seemed that the KAMI was still in default after it's reboot. The halls in the enlisted areas were abuzz with some in uniform and others in the only civvies they owned, 'visiting' each other, and getting ready to leave for the Hikari.
Jaq Stood up and stretched his arms and thought of what to do. He finally decided to walk down to the armor bay and see what his new suit would be. Then he would take so time of on that 'ecstasy ship' in the fleet. Maybe play some Cards meet some new people. But generally have a good time. He left the briefing room and started for the armor bay.
She had been pondering this idea on and off since she saw the leader of the Kasairyuu there at the briefing. She wanted to introduce herself since when she was ordered to the ship, she was also placed under his command. So there she stood, in the lift descending to the armor hanger, one arm raised and resting on the other as she stroked her chin, hidden under the curtain of silver-white hair. Her inner debate was paused slightly when another person entered the lift with her. "One of the others who just recently arrived," she surmised silently to herself. Sparing the slightest of motions in greeting, Camellia went back to her thoughts.
Caine kicked off the wall her was leaning on in the corridor and groaned, he didn't like the idea of having free time so early; but he felt it might be best if he took it. He adjusted his uniform and headed for the door passing a couple other uniformed officers and went to his old room and got his stuff and moved to the Kasairyuu wing of the quarters and sighed. "At least I can get my sister's something." he said to himself and headed to the Hikari after putting his rucksack in a corner and checked his card for cash. Thankfully he had enough. The Half-Elf Yamataian started for the Ecstasy ship after that.
Katsuko and Akina arrived in due time to the Hikari, a relief to the pilot, who sank in her chair after they stepped off into one of the many cavernous bays on the Hikari. They had landed on Rapture deck eight, and their eyes adjusted to the ambient lighting of the city simulation when they arrived on a main 'street' the impeccable detail was impressive, save how much more clean it was. There were people in mostly civilian clothing, some being in their uniforms. The calls of merchants could be heard as lights lined the careless streets. "Let's go to a club, Aki!" Katsuko grabbed her hand, leading them both further into the district.
Aoiko glanced up as she stepped into the streets of the Hikari, almost expecting to see the night sky. Shaking her head slightly, she stepped over to one of the pillars bearing a map of the deck, noting down all the bookstores and clothing boutiques she wanted to visit and planning out the least efficient, most roundabout way of getting to each of them. Her next few hours planned, she happily set out down the rows of merchants.
"That's it." Corro said angrily and slammed the data pad in his hand down on the crate he was sitting next to. The silence in the room was broken by the contact sound, but it quickly returned. "I'm going and there's not a soul in the universe that will stop me. Not even if the Emperor himself asked me to advise him on something." With that said Corro abruptly turned around and began walking to the lift at the far end just as it was opening.
"Thank you, AI." Ziv made his way to the nearby lift, hardly noticing the silver-haired woman already standing in the lift. She nodded to him, and he barely had the thought to return the gesture, so his action seemed rather hurried and sporadic. When the lift made it down to the bay, the doors opened to reveal an officer heading hurriedly towards him.
Jaq had been in the Lift with the two other enlistees when the doors opened and he saw Coro charging the door. "Hello Sir I have something to ask you about before you leave!" Draco squeezed beside the man in front of the door and started to walk towards Corro.
Camellia was silent as the others made their way out of the lift towards the wing commander. She regarded this action with a little trepidation, as she made her way out as well, keeping quiet and to the side as the others made their parley. When they were finished, she took a step forward and raised her left hand to the edge of her brow in salute. "Greeting. I am Camellia Sarri, I have just recently arrived, and would like to say what an honor it is to be a member of the Kasairyuu. I will not let you down. Sir." She finished with a click of her boot heels as she stood at ready. Her silver hair still draped over half her face.
Caine reached the Hikari and looked around hoping ot find a directory to find the shopping district of the rapture floor. "Hmm computer, where could I find places to shop at? Is there a district for it or are they spread about the floor?" He asked the AI.
A far too chipper voice assaulted Caine from a lone console nearby. "Hello sir! Welcome to the Hikari! There are many many places to shop all over me! On rapture deck eight, there is a fine casino, and many shops. Please query for other rapture deck information, tee hee!"
"Alright, thank you computer." he said and looked around for a way up other than a lift preferring to take the stairs if there were any but if not, oh well. Caine looked around some and took a short walk to stretch his body out popping a bit.
Ugh. This day was just not going well. He'd meant to get some work done in the armor bays, but lo and behold, just as he approached the flight deck, his lift suddenly ground to a halt, and a buzzer began to wail, indicating an electrical error. "Good gods... who did I piss off today?" The ship's electrical system must have still been reeling from the attack; lord knew he'd have a difficult enough time fixing the whole thing by now. Realizing that with the majority of the crew heading off to leave, his lift calls would go unnoticed, he sighed and flipped open the access panel. It would take another hour and some of Roger's dirtiest electrical jerry-rigging, but eventually, the lift slowly descended the additional half flight needed, and popped open its doors. Standing in the bay were a number of other personnel, mostly from the bridge meeting he noticed.
He quickly recognized Cadet Adlich, he made due haste to introduce himself. "Cadet Adlich! Santo Hei Kard reporting, sir, I was told to meet with you to set up maintenance ops on your armors, sir."
Jatsu went to the transport bay and requested transport to the Hikari. Well, now that I finally have a break I should do some shopping, he thought. I wouldn't mind having my own personal computer, and maybe I can find some parts to enhance this arm. A shuttle was filling rapidly with many NH-17 from the Akuro, and a deckhand next to the hatch beckoned Jatsu to climb on board, shutting the hatch behind him as it lifted off towards the rearguard vessel, it's observation deck pointed to the darkness of space.
Katsuko soon got her wish, as the pair entered a simple looking five story structure, with a large and flashy sign reading "Pink Nova" above it's two massive doors. Inside the club, they set their small purses on a table lining the very large. There were NH-17's all about, eying each other, and the pair in the dim lights. Trance music thumped loudly, and at least half of the soldiers on that floor of the club were dancing over the flashing multi-colored dancefloor. Beyond that, the slight clatter of glasses were heard from the bar and various tables, as staffers wandered to and fro.
He was being assailed on all sides. Jaq rushed forward to meet him head on, while another young woman from the briefing earlier began to introduce herself. For behind he heard another voice rushing to meet him and introduce himself. I'll kill them. I'll kill them all. No one but the AI would know. The AI likes me right? He looked around warily with both hands on the sides of his head. His face went bright red as he started to growl. "Shut up, all of you!" He quickly grabbed each one by their arms and began pushing them into the lift before him. "In, in, in, in!" With the last crewmember inside the lift he pushed himself in and keyed in his level. "Ok, not a word about who you are or what you need until we're back from leave." He grumbled as he looked over the group, his face still flush.
Ziv was nearly knocked off balance as his superior shoved him back into the lift he had just stepped off of. He was speechless as he glanced around to see the reactions of the others on the lift with him. A slight sound of disbelief slipped from his mouth unknowingly as he wondered what to do now.
"So let me guess sir... We all going to go Hit the Pub?!" Jaq ask with a smirk on his face and hoping the answer was yes.
Camellia made a slightly sour look, though her drapery of hair masked most of it. "I detest spirits." She muttered in a slightly dank tone. "I also just arrived. I do not need rest."
"Hey, I could always use a drink... and maybe I can actually light up a damn cigarette without having someone point a gun in my face."
"That is not likely." the disconnected voice of KAMI echoed in the lift. "It is also a YSA vessel, I suggest you take a program for it.Â
