RP: Neshaten Ika'shi'heyeane Council Discussions

Capital - Netoshen
Council Chambers

The council chambers were rather quiet, despite it being rather crowded with people; My'leke, Laibe, Daur, all political figures or indivisuals of interest within the Kingdom had gathered at the chambers, an emergency session had been called requiring them all to attend - no matter what they'd been doing before hand. The chambers were split between an upper and lower deck, but that seemed to only be for the purposes of viewing the council situated in the center bottom deck.

Sitting here were the heads of the various governmental and citizenry divisions, while sitting at the actual head of this oval shaped table was the Kingdom's queen - Vas'Sumera Yumena. Vas'Sumera her her legs folded and her hands in her lap, as security footage of the attack on the Ika'shi'heyeane Research Station played above for all to see.

The footage, which had already been broadcast throughout the Kingdom and had a dozen people now scrutinizing what had happened; had been a stark reminder that no matter how much security or military forces they had it wouldn't stop a determined group of indivisuals from causing mayhem.

As the footage came to an end; some of those in the room stood up and began to chat with their advisors, although for the most part it seemed people were genuiningly curious. Although this chatter was quickly silenced when Vas'Sumera shifted her position, and placed a hand on the arm of her chair.

"So," Vas'Sumera started, breaking the silence in the room. "What's the full extend of the damage to the station?" she asked.

"Of that," A quiet, effeminate voice began. The speaker a petite little example of the Daur's female population, wearing formal attire of Or'ion's Section One Division. Her auburn furred ears flitting back and forth while her tail swished casually from side to side. "We know much." finishing with a gesture that brought up lists upon each member of the assembly's screens. Wounded, Dead, Structural Damage and System Damages were all displayed. All appeared minimal save for the number of dead. The station's security forces had taken heavy losses. Those few that had survived mentioning only that it had been a small strike team. Thoroughly well-trained, and seemingly knowledgeable of the station's defenses and layout.

"We..." she paused a moment before continuing, "Have questioned the survivors. The strike team was small, perhaps six Laibe total. Exceptionally well-trained. They managed to eliminate quadruple their number with no losses by throwing the station's communications network into disarray. We have however managed to conceal the true number of dead for the time being. By the time the security staff had organized, it was too late. The Netrunu'marol strike force had penetrated deep into the station's high-level Research and Development area."

The fact someone from Section One was present meant the possibility of someone's turning to the terrorist organization and collaborating. "The bulk made their way to the Informations Technology division and hijacked a pair of our next generation Quantum Computers. Destroying the remainder of the systems and equipment with explosive charges." With a snap of her fingers, the imagery of statistical information and lists were replaced with what seemed to be a bombed out room. "Those computational systems represent the sum total of six years of intense research and billions in funding. Several million RN a piece for each unit. As it stands, the scientific staff will have to rebuild the units from scratch. And as such we are looking at a significant drawback."

Clasping her hands behind her back, the Or'ion spook paced back and forth, eyes downcast. "This is not the worst that has been done. While our Operatives are performing a rather meticulous investigation. We have three members of the staff missing. Two research assistants working under Uiy'yeyahe Ma'meahe, as well as Professor Ma'meahe are MIA. What video we managed to pull off the networks confirmed that the Netrunu'marol force has abducted them. "

The queen sighed and tapped her lower chin in thought, an advisor whom was standing beside her walked up and was about to speak something into her ear when Sa'kira raised a hand to silence the person. "Normally when new technology is being tested out, multiples of those test systems are spread out through the Kingdom for such an occasion... why wasn't this done with these systems? And why were they so interested in three of our scientists when, accordingly, they have their own?"

"Why indeed, your Majesty?" The Agent asked, turning toward the Queen, eyes still downcast in thought. "The computational systems being developed on the Ika'shi'heyeane Research Station were the first of their kind, and as such were going to be shipped to various facilities throughout the homesystem in coming months. It was simply a matter of those facilities readying themselves for their arrival." Unclasping her hands from her back, the female Agent lifted a finger.

"Your Majesty, I respectfully believe you should have amended your question to: 'Why did they need three of our scientists.' To which the answer would be, in what fields is Professor Ma'meahe considered most proficient in?' " Tail still swaying lazily from side to side, she continued. "Which would be Federation-era History, and Technologies. Two Quantum Computer systems utilizing the most cutting edge science, and technologies available to us. And a Professor reputed to be the foremost authority in our ancestor's advanced technology." Lifting an eyebrow then, the Agent lifted her head enough to stare up toward the Queen.

"The chance is high that the Netrunu'marol have located a working example of Federation technology. An example requiring incredible amounts of data processing. But also knowledge in that particular area."

Just mentioning the possibility that the Netrunu'marol had federation technology caused a bit of a stir within the chambers, as lords and noblemen started conversing amongst one another; it wasn't all that difficult to figure out what was being discussed, lords talking about the disappaerance of one of the Kingdom's foremost authorities on federation technology and the possibility of them having said tech, would considerably flip the tables against the Kingdom and its Navy if it was in fact true.

The queen didn't like the idea either, as her head lowered in thought. "Even the remote possibility of them possessing federation technology of any kind of a grave concern, and with the capture of our scientists it adds credence to that possibility," her head lifted as she looked about the room, there was still much chatter going on.

A man stood from the second row, causing others to look in thier direction; the man was a Laibe wearing clothing typically found used only by a Lord, although the advisors near him would've given off that impression as well. The lord looked toward the Daur, a kind of condecending expression bore on his face, before he looked toward the queen. "Your Majesty, how would they even get into the station to begin with? It orbits the capital world, with many of our navy's ships that patrol the area, it would be neraly inconceivable for them to get near that station without someone knowing..." The Laibe eyed the Daur Agent with suspicion.

The Agent merely returned the stare with one of her own, although there was no suspicion in her eyes. The Daur woman waved her hand dismissively toward the Lord in question. "Somehow the Netrunu'marol had gotten a hold of the shipment schedules for the station." she stated dryly in response. "I find it queer that they docked at the very same docking arm, at the exact time a scheduled shipment was set to arrive." The tail went from a side to side sweep, to undulating like a wave.

"Especially considering the freighter in question had been held up at a mining facility on the outer belt of the homesystem. No lives were lost amongst the crew, they however attempted to send a communique to Ika'shi'heyeane. Which also never arrived. Instead a freighter of the same class, with the same markings and Ident-code arrived." One casual ear flick later and a tilt of the head had her dismiss the Lord, not necessarily turning away from him. "This implies that there was someone fairly high up in the command echelon collaborating. To know of the schedule, and to quite possibly have pull with foremen at the mining facility."

Holding that finger aloft again she went on, "Of which we will soon be questioning. And scrutinizing every byte of data that has been broadcast and received from the station over the past week. Oh yes, we will get to the bottom of this." Only then did she turn her back on the Laibe Lord, back toward the Queen.

"We have however picked up a faint emission's trail exiting the homesystem along a trajectory that would have placed its starting point well within the station's range at the time of the raid. If these traitorous filth have managed to secure even the barest piece of Federation technology, we may well see the tides change. But there is at least one crucial thing I believe all in this room have overlooked. The fact they required such hardware, and such persons as Professor Ma'meahe can only mean their efforts thus far have been in vain." Gesturing to the Queen then.

"As your Majesty has stated, they have scientists for their own. For them to risk so much and perform such a daring raid means they perhaps have become desperate. Which may well mean we have time. Before they are able to unlock whatever secrets they've discovered."

The queen let out a muted sigh. "If its out of the system, then it'll be difficult to locate them. Unless you have a general idea of where they've gone," Vas'Sumera looked up at the agent and stared for a moment. "Regardless, the Navy has patrol routes that take them fairly close to the station not to mention ground monitoring centres designed exclusively to monitor orbiting ships. Unless the workers were asleep at their post..." the queens voice trailed off, it was obvious she didn't like that idea one bit. "Would it be too much to guess that 'someone' might've been working on the inside?" she asked.

"We have surmised it would have required an insider." The Agent answered, "As such we have begun going over personnel records, communications logs, we are plying considerable resources for this investigation, your Majesty. " Hands clasped once more behind her back, the Or'ion Spook continued her pacing. "As mentioned before, we have detected a faint emission trail leading out of the homesystem. Faint, but detectable. It is likely they attempted to mask their trail, however given the timeframe involved, it was sloppily done."

"At present a majority of our resources are tied up elsewhere, including this investigation. We maybe able to place some of our less than top priority assignments on the back burner and reassign those assets into attempting to trace the emission trail. If you wish."

Vas'Sumera nodded and looked toward another member of the council. "What do you think Q'Abrenal Cre'baya?"

Vio'leca Hui'ye Cre'baya, a Daur of great renown for putting herself into harms way but also for being the first ever to obtain the rank when the new military ranking structure was put into place many years ago. Cre'baya sighed and clasped the hands on her lap, she was a clean shaven looking person, her uniform very clean and well kept, it looked as if she took great pride in keeping it that way. "Do it," she said to the Agent. "This takes priority over anything else for the time being, but let's not take our eyes off the home front either, if you need additional personnel to assist send in the requests and I shall ensure they are approved."

There were a few gruffs of disagreement in the above chambers, causing the Daur to glance out of the corner of her eye toward one particular Laibe councilmen.

Inclining her head, the Agent spoke, "As you wish. I will assign a She'tanora-class vessel to run reconnaissance while main fleet elements are readying. Elements taken from the Third, and Fifth Fleets should be more than enough without compromising the homesystem's defenses. Along with a Marine company." Fluffy tail swishing with a little more enthusiasm, the Agent went on. "I will also pull some of the other accredited scientific staff from their experimentation and have them at the ready should we manage to secure whatever technology the terrorists have found. Including datamining their servers for any and all pertinent information."

Glancing up toward the Queen, and then to the Q'Abrenal, "Does this meet with your satisfaction?"

Vio'leca clasped her hands and thought for a moment. "I'll free up some resources as well for your usage in case you need them, otherwise; I want this to take priority."

"Surely we need not worry too much about this matter," remarked the Laibe lord who had spoken before. "Those terrorists likely don't have resources to really use the technology they've gathered, so why pull our fleets from our home system when there are matters of more import?" asked the Laibe, in a high and mighty attitude which had clearly ruffled some of the feathers of a few in the chamber, if the slight murmurs were any indication.

"Because," The agent began, pitching her voice louder. "If they did not have the resources then. They will certainly have them now with the kidnapping, and theft of our prototype computer systems." Hands clasped behind her back, she whirled around, staring up at the Lord in question. "If they can provide proof and authenticate whatever they have discovered, how soon will it be before they gather these aforementioned resources? If they have not already? Perhaps this is merely the final piece of the puzzle."

Unclasping her hands, she brought one forth, gesturing lightly to no one in particular in one sweeping motion. "Or, perhaps, Lord, you do not deem the possibility of Federation technology falling in the wrong hands to be worthy of mobilization?"

"They might have the resources, but its doubtful they have the skills. We've spent many years now trying to reverse engineer some of the technology from teh ships that 'brought' our ancestors to this world and thus far we've barely been able to scratch the surface. Even with the kidnappings, I doubt they would be able to successfully reverse engineer any of the tech thatwe posses in a timely matter to be considered a major threat," the Lord folded his arms over his chest, his remarks brought about some chatter from the others - some of which was noticable disagreement with what the lord had said.

Even the queen didn't seem to impressed with that response, as she leaned back and stared at the lord; then at the agent. "Any federation technology that falls into the hands of the terrorists is a great concern..."

FM of the Iromakuanhe
"I would surmise that you are speaking of major breakthroughs. I, however am referring to the minor." the Agent emphasized with flick of an ear. "A shard of metal, a medical kit. A hand-held weapon or even computational tablet. " she had lifted a hand, a finger going up for everything she listed off. "Could propel them several generations ahead in any given area. From there, technological branching into other fields. They would seek practical applications. Things that they could put into play sooner rather than later. And leave the more complex research to progress to a stable point in which they could make use of it as well."

"In the meantime, said practical applications could have a major impact in our conflict. Soldiers capable of shrugging off even our most up-to-date infantry weaponry thanks to innovations in body armor. Weapons a generation or more ahead of ours on a personal, and even ship-based scale. It does not take much to fan the flames of progress. But, they instead have abducted one of the leading experts in the field of Federation technology. Along with advanced computational hardware."

The Or'ion agent's tail swished casually, "These alone could shave off the years we have spent attempting the same from centuries to a handful of years. Or mere months. To take what we know now. What the Professor knew. And to ply it with such powerful equipment along with major backing. We could see changes in the Netrunu'marol in such time frames."
