The NMX-trafficking 'Everlasting Squids' ring have been killed and their base of operations has been destroyed along with all of their stock.

However, this act was not conducted by the IPG.

According to surveillance reports by the MP branch, at 0205 hours this morning, they spotted a suspicious looking man circling the Everlasting Squids headquarters on foot. Subject was identified as a humanoid male, too heavily injured to correctly tell the species. Likely Yamataian or Cyborg Nepleslian. Appeared armed. The MP's wrote him off as a hesitant customer, possibly a drunkard who came out of the wrong end of a fight. The MP's then observed the man sneak in through a back route, evade the notice of the Everlasting Squids lookouts with stealth and distractions, and climb to the roof.

At 0211 hours, the MP's called HQ for clarification, requesting if the Commandos were doing a one-man operation. Commandos replied negative. MP's replied that a lone man appeared to be infiltrating the building and sent visuals. Commandos wrote it off as third party, possibly vigilante. MP's were satisfied by this, and allowed the unidentified third party to proceed - stating that "it was his funeral".

At 0213 hours, the unidentified third party entered the building. Gunshots were heard later, sounded like a HHG. MP's were on alert, but staying back and waiting for it to blow over. They saw Everlasting Squids members go down one by one to the vigilante through infravision - the subject appeared to be using advanced electromagnetic pulse technology combined with what scanners interpreted as 'lightning bolts' by sensors. The MP's stated that their equipment must have been faulty. A later examination proved that this was not the case.

The fighting continued until 0232 hours, ending when the building exploded. The MP surveillance team mobilised to investigate and called emergency services. At 0247, a firefighting team and paramedics arrived to put out the blaze and look for survivors.

There were no survivors, nor was there any sign of the vigilante. The following identified members of the trafficking ring were killed in the following ways:

#1 - Gunshot wound, chest, .45 HHG WHITE
#2 - Gunshot wound, skull, .45 HHG WHITE
#3 - Broken neck
#4 - Electrocution
#5 - Drowning, internal burns from boiling water
#6 - Electrocution
#7 - Plasma Burns
#8 - Plasma Burns
#9 - Disembowelment
#10 - NMX Parasite, multiple gunshot wounds, 7.62 KZ
#11 - Decapitation with Machete
#12 - Explosion, 40mm Grenade
#13 - Explosion, 40mm Grenade
#14 - Explosion, 40mm Grenade
#15 - Impaled by pole to wall, died of internal injuries
#16 - Blunt Trauma
#17 - Bisected
#18 - Bisected
#19 - Gunshot Wound, leg, 8 ga. Durandium slug
#20 - Gunshot Wound, head, 8 ga. Durandium slug
#21 - Crushed by a Bus
#22 - Gunshot wound, chest, .45 HHG WHITE
#23 - Electrocution
#24 - Explosion, unidentified
#25 (Ringleader) - Prolonged Electrocution, unrecognisable without DNA scan

There are many more unidentified members dead from the final explosion, mostly dying from burn wounds, asphyxiation or crushed by rubble.

I feel sorry for the ballistics modelling team. It was difficult to move through the battlefield without stepping on brass.

Additionally, MP and Field Agent investigations after the fires were doused yielded that all of the NMX weapons stock, parasites, Nekovalkyrja and breeding apparatus were destroyed by hand and from the explosives, which were noted to be improvised from overloaded battlepod payloads and compound explosive stockpiles.

My gut tells me that this vigilante was someone more than a dissatisfied customer. The question remains as to how this third party discovered the operation, and took it upon themselves to tear the operation apart without external help. The Commandos deny any responsibility and were shown to have no previous plans against the Everlasting Squids. An investigation as to the identity and whereabouts of the vigilante is currently underway.

Grand Admiral,

Was the Everlasting Squids massacre the responsibility of one of 'them', or was this the responsibility of a true third party?

I am unsure of which frightens me more.

I know of no sanctioned IPG operation against this group. Our teams were all instructed to observe. Ensure that the MPs cordon off the area. I want a full reconstruction and report within the next 48 hours. The sooner we find out what we're dealing with, the better. I am sending in Commando unit, Codename Typhoon, to ensure the location's security and provide firepower if needed. Otherwise, they have instructions to remain in the shadows. Take a team of MPs and Intel operators, search the surrounding areas discreetly.

If something that dangerous is lurking in the Imperium, we need to have a spy satellite and a wire tap on it at all times. Forward all relevant findings to me when you get them

Signed,

Dominic Valken

The Everlasting Squids Reconstruction Report is as follows.

Our mystery vigilante slipped in through the roof into the kitchenette of the compound. Within were identified gang members #3, #4 and #5, on break. Our vigilante grabbed #3 from behind and broke his neck with a twist as he was sitting down and eating. Shortly after, #4 tried to leave, but the Vigilante electrocuted him from afar using some sort of ranged electricity weapon, as evidenced by the hole marks in #4's back. #5 made a grab for a knife and attempted to engage the vigilante, but the fight was over quickly - #5 was thrown to the floor, and the vigilante took a pot of hot water on the stove and poured it down #5's throat.

Anticipating resistance, the vigilante hid by the door frame and waited for #1 and #2 to walk in, investigating the commotion. They were both shot in the back. The vigilante took a moment to remove the fired cartridges and left them on the floor. Finger marks on the cartridge casings were not in our database - so this is either a first-time offender or someone we have failed to catalogue.

The vigilante found himself on a catwalk overlooking some of the storage areas for the operation, and spotted #6, #7, #8, #9 and #10 in the process of inspecting contraband goods. The vigilante fired a grenade from a M'Cel 40mm Grenade Launcher - firing a grenade loaded with a plasma capacitor that killed #7 and #8 immediately, and #10 to drop a canister containing an NMX parasite. The parasite attacked #10 immediately. #6 and #9 opened fire upon the vigilante with .45 pistols, Styrling Silver Specials - no hits on the vigilante as he jumped down from the catwalks. #6 was hit with the electrocution device, and somehow ended up being shot by #9 - if we were to guess - this device uses a tether to deliver the electricity and it has enough strength to reel someone in.

The vigilante used #6 as a human shield, advancing forward towards #9 and throwing #6 at #9. #10 was now helpless against the parasite, and the Vigilante used a GP-1 rifle to gun him down at close range - and stomped on the escaping NMX parasite for good measure. #9 was then dealt with using the knife #5 attempted to use against the vigilante in the kitchen - lateral slices across the gut. However, this was discarded in favour of a heavier blade, the machete.

Another curious sight was the appearance of claw marks on the catwalk, matching the patterns similar to #6 and #4 - so this device seems to be able to act as a grappling hook and as an electrical stunning device. Such technology is currently considered unprecedented because there are so many better alternatives - and if the vigilante was Yamataian, couldn't they have floated up?

Either way, the vigilante retreated to higher ground and reloaded his M'Cel launcher, leaving he spent shell on the catwalk. #11, #12, #13, #14 and #15 moved in, now heavily armed and fully expecting any resistance. The M'Cel was reloaded with a fragmentation grenade and fired into the middle of the group, killing #12, #13 and #14 instantly while knocking over #11 and #15 with shrapnel wounds. The vigilante jumped down again and landed atop #11 and decapitated him with the machete, hard enough for the weapon to become stuck to the floor. #15 attempted to fire at the vigilante.

And here's the next curious thing: Our vigilante is somehow capable of dodging bullets. Ballistics says that #15 had the perfect shot with his Styrling STAR and should have killed him instantly. Instead, dust marks on the floor indicate that the vigilante leapt towards him and twisted to avoid the bullets, possibly taking advantage of Yamataian gravity control to control the fall, and to twist - but the reaction times necessary are simply inhuman. 15 bullets were found in the wall behind him - a few of which seem to have evidence of stone-thread fibres, indicating glancing shots and superficial hits upon the Vigilante's body armour. Upon landing on the floor, the vigilante tripped up #15. #15 retained his weapon.

A fight ensued between #15 and the vigilante, initially fighting over the weapon - and firing three bursts into the floor in a moment of frenzy before the weapon was swatted away. The fight was bought to a stand-up fight and the two combatants exchanged blows. #15 attempted to use a knife but it was disarmed and thrown away. The Vigilante was backed against a wall but maintaining composure through the fight judging by the foot stances and movement.

The second part of this report is coming soon, during the meanwhilst, consider just how dangerous this person is, with this unknown technology and incredible martial training and reflexes. None of it matches or elaborates upon any techniques taught by the Yamataian or Nepleslian Military, or the IPG. This person has lit the tactical book on fire in favour of their own warped reality.

The choice of armaments is particularly curious, the Nepleslian HHG, the Yamataian GP-1 rifle and the Lorath M'Cel 40mm Grenade Launcher and use of Stone Thread as armouring show that this person has no ties to one nation or race and is willing to use any and all available methods to dispatch the Everlasting Squids. The motivation for the attack seems to be born from a severe hatred against the Mishhuvurthyar, and anyone allying or helping them.

It seems we may have a mutual friend, or a good Commando candidate if we manage to track down this vigilante. The next 24 hours of investigation should get us on track.
