The following IPG report was compiled and forwarded in encrypted data transfers to the Senate.
Earlier this week, Kante Stations detected hyperspace signatures between the Elysian and Yamataian borders. IPG was notified by Border Defense officials soon after in regards to Elysian Battleship approaching border and offloading shuttle. Yamataians collected the shuttle and departed once more for Yamatai.
While contents of the shuttle are unknown at this time, assets in Elysian space have determined that it is possibly a high-ranking member of the Elysian Senate.
This office has compiled a list of possible interpretations of the recent activity action:
- Yamatai and Elysia have entered, or are in the process of entering diplomatic talks. With Yamatai's historic antagonism towards us and friendly states, and Elysia's generally blatant racism, the talks could possibly revolve around a treaty against us or other friendly powers. This has been identified as the most likely explanation.
- Yamatai and Elysia have begun trading of technology or weapons. Several known weapons and other pieces of high-powered technology are known to be able to fit within the dimensions of the Elysian shuttle. An agreement on these lines could lead to a dramatic increase in either sides military power. This office has noted that while not an impossibility, this explanation is less sound than the prior. Border Control has none the less been advised to observe the Yamataian/ Elysian border for further contact.
