Military Families and base housing

What are the rules about the spouses and children (or even parents in some situations) of SAoY service members living on or visiting bases? I assume it has a lot to do with the security level on a base and what level of threat the base is under, but is there like housing for soldiers who are married or in domestic partnerships with civilians? What about their children?

Solution
Family housing is available at most permanent and large Star Army of Yamatai bases (think ones that would also have large barracks for single soldiers), and is available for free for any soldier of the Star Army of Yamatai.
  • Military Districts, such as the Military District of Kyoto
  • Ground bases, such as Fort Minori
  • Star Fortresses such as Irim's City
Family housing is typically unavailable aboard the Star Army's starships or at frontier bases, with the exception of some very large starships such as
  • Selected Izanagi-class dreadnaughts during peacetime
  • Colony ships that allow families
  • Think places that are so huge that they can easily fit a school

It is common for a spouse to have a part-time job on a Star Army ship such as working at the ship's Warm and Sweet 4 days a week.

Families would not be housed on:
  • Battleships
  • Cruisers
  • Gunships
  • Cargo Vessels
  • Scouts
  • etc.
Note: These are not supposed to be the primary residence of Star Army crew members either, they're supposed to have a home somewhere, lol.
