RP: UCS Zenpyou [Mission 1] Blackened Wings

While the others were busy with the prisoners and the wounded Natsuko, Wavrian and his engineer ilk were hard at work making sure that the power armor was all right! Please, please, don't die on me now. We'll have you all patched up in no time. It'll be okay.

Each layer that made up the armor was carefully checked and double-checked, each missing fiber in the polymer layer carefully mended or replaced before the Durandium Alloy plating could even be touched. With Wavrian and the other Engineers trying their damnedest to make the suits good tight, the things would be as good as new (and maybe even a little bit better!) when their pilots returned.

The Azorean shed a tear of relief when the diagnostics test on the first suit repaired came in all clear. Everything really will be all right.

Gin smiled at Roken's attempt at humor. "Well I couldn't leave you to simmer in that can the Sub-Commander would have charged me with destruction of ship property. Fortunately your injuries aren't life threatening. But you will need to stay here in medbay for a few hours. At least you will have the company of a friend in here." She said nodding her head towards Natsuko. positioned the bone regenerator at Roken's ribs. "At least the ribs are only mildly fractured. And that bump on your head is only bad enough to give you a headache. I'll be back to check on you after I take a look at the primary sensors."

"Mm...so I see." Ichiro said, nodding to the other. "As for proper introductions, I am Cadet Kobayashi, but lets not get into formalities. Are the attackers gone or captured?" he asked, looking down the hall. "I had just thought this was an older ship...some of them already have slightly damaged interiors...not that I'm putting down how the Peacekeepers maintain their fleets." the power armor pilot said, landing on the ground on his feet. "Of course, it's been a few months since I've been on a ship..."

Gin left the medbay and headed to her cabin, putting on clean clothes, she grabbed her tool kit and headed to the avionics section. Let's see if I can figure out what the heck happened to the main sensors. she thought. Opening the maintenance hatch she crawled in and started performing her diagnostics.

After the first batch of diagnostics ran, she was frustrated, Okay so now the blasted primaries test okay. Let's do a visual inspection of the processing unit. she thought. The unit itself appeared fine, and the indicators on it showed it was operating normally. When Gin reached her hand towards the unit the lights on the processor flickered. She pulled her hand back and it operated normally. A visual check of where her hand was revealed that the data cable was crushed and the shielding on it damaged. She turned off the processing unit and removed the cable. Replacing it with one from spares she turned the unit back on and ran one last set of diagnostics. After ensuring that the system was working properly, she enabled the primary sensors.

Gin then sent the following message via the computer and made her way back to medical to check on Roken.

Ai went back to the bay, and stepped out of her Tenshi. She grabbed her uniform that she had left to the side and slipped it on. Once it was on, she headed to her room (I haven't picked yet... but it doesn't really matter since I expect there's no need to share rooms yet).

She sat down on her bed, and brought her knees up to her chest. Ai knew she had to calm down. If something were to attack again and she wasn't calm, it'd only cause problems.

"I'll be fine." Natsuko closed her eyes, deciding if she should rebel against her body's demand for sleep or if she should go along with it. A short diagnostic returned that she would be alright if she were careful. The injury didn't seem as bad as losing a limb. As long as she didn't overexert herself too much she would be able to do light work and the wound would be healed in a few days. "Mou..." Natsuko said, almost growling it, trying to motivate herself to sit up. "Did you guys find out where the interference was coming from?" Natsuko asked once she was upright.

Roken Gave Gin a nod sitting himself up on the bed, “I’m Sure ill be up and able by the time you get back.” He said as he reached over to grab a mirror groaning under gritted teeth. Need to replace this….and it looks like the socket will have to be fixed. Roken thought to himself as he began to carefully pick at his damaged eye. When Gin left is when he started focus his mind on eye and on the possibility of the pain he would feel when he would try and remove it.

He knew he could not stand so walking around the room looking for something would have to wait till he had more time to recover, he laid back in his bed holding the mirror so he could look at his eye and listen to his superiors chat.

Zero looked over at Natsuko and perked a brow at her question. "I think they said it was some faulty connection or something as a result of the refit or something." he said and stood up and stretched. "But I"m out. You hurry up and recover ok?" Zero offered her a small grin and turned to head out of the room to get back to the armor bay to check on his suit to make sure it was still in top condition.

"To the best of our knowledge, the attackers have been eliminated or captured. We were caught by surprise because they already had a jammer up and running when we got here, so we didn't expect an attack. Several of us had only just suited up when they got in." He grimaced. "Most of the damage to the rear wall was done in the initial attack. The pinned us in here with suppressive fire until myself and one or two others managed to get out side and do some damage. The damage to the sides was done after the fighting, in an attempt to extract an injured opponent from their power armor. The power armor detonated, giving rise to these," he said, pointing towards the bruises showing on his arms and head now, "as well as the more serious injuries sustained by the others currently in the bay." He shrugged. Hopefully, this would be a one time mistake, and they wouldn't have to worry about it anymore. "I believe that there were no injuries so massive as to be life threatening though, save to the one power armor pilot. Why has it been so long since you were on a ship?" Denkou turned, indicating that he would lead Ichiro on.

Gin returned to the Medbay to check on the injured crew members. As she approached she saw Zero leaving. "Hi. It's Zero, right? So how are the two of them? I just came back from reparing the sensors, and wanted to check on Roken." Hell of an operation, we don't even have medically trained personnel. she thought.

Zero looked at Gin again and nodded, studying her for a moment with his blue eyes, watching her body language for a bit. "They'll both live but they still need to get a lot of rest. Count on Roken complaining a lot about it though, he apparently injured his eye and needs a bit more treatment." he said to her and smiled a bit at her with a quirk of the lip, looking like a smirk. "I'm going to go see if our captives are awake yet, they'r ein the brig I believe. I'm going to go see what I can get from them."

"Well, I was going to join earlier, but I kinda got busy making sure I had a place to stay outside of the service...and just sorta lost track of time. A month or two of training helped that out though." Ichiro said, smiling. "I guess I got bored with lounging and perfecting home, and decided to reenlist." he commented, carrying his bags as he followed. "To be honest, I would have settled for being an instructor, but I don't mind being on duty again either. Brings back the good memories."

“I heard that.” Roken said as he pulled himself out of his bed not wanting to deal with his eye till his ribs were better, I’ve felt worst than this. He thought to himself as moved around a little looking for something to take his mind off his current situation. “So…have we pulled anything from our attackers yet?”

Natsuko tried to test her hypothesis about her condition by sliding out of the bed. Not even half way out the neko suppressed a grimace as pain shot through her abdomen. Hopefully nobody saw that. Natsuko thought after slowly pulling herself back up onto the bed. Looks like I'll be here a little longer than I thought I would. Natsuko reclined back onto the bed before speaking aloud. "Are you a fresh recruit, or were you in the 5th?" Natsuko asked Roken. She hadn't really ever met the Peacekeeper before and now was as good of a time as any to get to know him.

He has interesting eyes, Gin thought feeling a bit of blush coming to her cheeks, "Well Zero, I should probably let you get to questioning the prisoners, and I'll go check on Natsuko, and tend to Roken and his eye. Perhaps later when things settle down a bit, we can get a cup of coffe in the mess provided we have some cooks onboard?" She said with a smile.

Zero nodded to Gin and looked at her squarely before blushing a bit himself at her question. Nobody had EVER asked him that kind of thing before he was shocked to the point of not knowing what to say other than: "Uhm...sure.." he said, brushing a hand through his hair. "It'd be nice.." Zero said and nodded to her, trying to hide his light blush. "You can contact me anytime on the PCC." he said before turning to head off, embarrassed a bit.

As Natsuko lay there staring at the ceiling waiting for Roken to respond she recieved a telepathic message. "Sub-Lieutenant Hiragi, I heard from the ship doctor that you're up and about. What happened down there?" Flemming sent, as well as a message to David. "Are you and your team alright?" Natsuko sighed audibly before responding, "I tried to open one of the demons up to get out the pirate, sir, but when I did it exploded. It probably killed all the prisoners we had taken other than the few that I had sent to the medbay. Peacekeeper Roken was also badly injured. " There was a long silence before Natsuko received Flemming's next message. "We'll deal with this later, right now Miyame 3 needs us."

Less than a minute later there was an announcement on the loudspeaker: "We will be arriving at Miyame 3 in less than 10 minutes, once we arrive we'll head down to the planet. Remember why we're here, we need to help the people of Miyame 3. We need to know what we're up against here."

Wavrian perked up when the news came over the loudspeaker. A new planet! A whole new world to explore! Ah... after helping its people, of course. This is not a pleasure cruise, thought the Azorean. I am here representing the good will of the United Outer Colonies, helping the people in need. Any new sights and experiences will be had as a UOC engineer, not as a curious child.

With that in mind, his mouth turned up at the edges, making a quirky smile that he kept as he got back to work, making sure that his compatriots' companion would be in peak condition when it came time for helping the people of Miyame 3.

Roken blinked for a moment before he looked at Natsuko, “oh...the 5th expedition fleet, yeah I was but it was short lived.” He moved toward one of the medical tables close to Natsuko as he continued to rummage around for a spare data pad, “I have been assigned to a few other ships during my service then....” He paused thinking he found what he was looking for but did not.

He was about to ask her the same question but the stopped for a moment to listen to the loud speaker, “Going to a new planet and I'm stuck here...” He sighed a little before turning his attention back to Natsuko, “so anyway....you must have been with the 5th a while before you joined up with the peacekeepers right?”

David had returned to his room and changed into a new uniform and Headed back for the shuttle bay. "Natsuko do you think you are able enough to interrogate our prisoners as they awaken?" He made a quick announcement ship wide. "All able body pilots are to report to the shuttle bay for briefing and departure for the colony, Stryker out." He entered the bay which still had the scars of the explosion in it but hoped that the shuttles would still be good to fly.
