RP: 4th Fleet (NSN) [Mission 5.3] Debriefing and Preparations

Rita's eyes widened and her chest welled up with fury when Henry told her that her sword had gone missing, but before she could speak, she learned that he was her new commanding officer. She choked down the resentment and shook her head, turning towards Phaedra. She stood up straight, put her feet together and saluted.

"Aye, sir. Actually, I've opted for a new RAIDER suit instead, I can handle the HPAR outside a suit so I should still be able to use it."

Rita turned toward Henry and saluted. "Private Second Class, Rita Stenton, reporting back for active duty, sir."

With Sawyer not saying anything more and more people getting into the armoury, Lisa just got up. She put a hand on Sawyers shoulder and thanked him with a smile. There was bunch of new people, some of them were Id-Sols, some normal folks and then there was this red-head. If Lisa would be in better mood, she would go and flirt with her right away, but like this she can at least go say hello.

Lisa pocketed her small Whiskey bottle and walked towards Claire. "Hello," she said as soon as she got closer. "New in the 4th? Need a hand with anything?" She asked with neutral tone and neutral facial expression.

*Claire left the newbies to their devices, hoping that the sergeants wouldn't ride their asses too hard. (Despite it almost being an inevitability.) Her datapad gave her a few interesting options. The AMP sent a small shiver up her spine. Imaging the over-sized chaingun unleashing it's payload... And then the Kegbuster. She -wanted- that piece. The actual soldier in her head warned her that if the captain didn't want collateral damage, she'd have to go for the former. She prayed nonetheless.

She was brought out of her innuendo laden reverie by another new face introducing themselves. Her emerald eyes caught the hidden whiskey bottle, which made her smirk. The offer to help brought a smile to her face, even if the woman that asked looked solemn. "Well hello to you too! And that's sweet of you to ask, but I'm alright, ma'am. Just dreaming of all the big guns I get to have again." Claire obviously looks Lisa over as if appraising her. She keeps her same cheerful smile on all the same.

Lisa gave the woman a nod. She checked her rank and noticed that she was P2C, while Lisa herself was still a P3C. A rank for a boot. Great, even Rita was already P2C. This sucked arse and made Lisa even more miserable. Well at least she managed secure that stupid bridge this time, even though it was just because she panicked and rushed on. None the matter, they should make a fucking general out of her for that.

"I should be the calling you ma'am," Lisa replied with a shrug. "And it seems you got big guns handled all right," she quipped giving a small glance at Claire's chest. Instinct. Lisa was checking out people for years now, even when she feels down it seemed she had to get a good look. "Well anyway. If you want to cause Havoc, you should opt for Aggressor. Try asking your commanding NCO."

"Bah, don't. Name's Claire. It'll do just fine. Thanks for giving me a welcome, beautiful. I was afraid everyone would be dour faced and stern personality." The buxom redhead smiled again, very open and friendly to say the least. "You can look all you want, hon. Touching will cost you dinner." She chuckles a little bit, then looks over her shoulder at the PA's when the aggressor is mentioned.

"Hm.. I did think of it, but..." She really didn't have a reason other than not wanting to start asking things for someone just starting out here. "Well. I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask. More firepower to keep you all covered isn't a bad thing."

Simmons gave another woman a nod and sighed. "We are usually more cheery than this." She explained, giving Henry a glance. Apparently he knew Ran and it hit him harder than others. "We lost a man on this mission and another team was killed whole. Our chief got stabbed in the belly too, luckily he will be okay. We have seen some tough fighting today."

"And girl these are hard to not notice," Lisa said with a smirk and half-pointed to Claire's chest. "As for that dinner maybe some other time, when we are not about to go into combat. And yeah Aggy is a beast, I once rode in the VR sequence. It has a lot of boom-capability. But so does my VOID." Lisa said and pointed her thumb on VOID suit she usually used. Claire could easily see two large Mortars on its back.

"Ah... I see. My apologies, I don't mean to disrespect the dead. I've been there." Her eyes unfocus for a moment as if thinking back to something unpleasant as he smile fades for a bit.

She shakes her head and comes out of it. She smirks back at Simmon's tease. "Oh, flatterer. You've got some nice curves yourself, girl." A compliment repaid, she glanced back at the PAs. The idea of an aggressor was sounding better to her by the minute. She was never a very quick or limber woman, preferring to stand and deal out the pain. "I think I may just switch over. Though your VOID is a sexy piece for sure. Color me jealous!"

Lisa smiled, still looking at her VOID armour. It really was good armour. It might be smaller and lighter than Hostile or Aggressor, but in the end it was really best suit for Lisa. It was more nimble and helpful with tactics. Lisa also found out on last mission that she would rather hang back and support others than rushing into enemy head first.

"I do like VOID," she said, taking a cigarette-box from her pocket and offering one to Claire first. "I can do Hostile's job as well and even Aggressor's up to some point with its Mortar. And boy the shield drones can save a lot if used right. Good machine."

Claire smiles a bit as Lisa explains her like of the armor a bit more. At the mention of shield drones, a playful look crosses her face. "Well, I'll be counting on you! Keep my ass safe and maybe you'll get a reward from it." She sways her hips a bit to emphasize her point. The flirty Geshrin chuckles, obviously having fun with her. Inwardly she was a little relieved there was someone she could tease. The back of her mind reminded her that she would still need to watch it around the higher ranks. This was a different place, after all.

On the subject of armors, she taps her datapad a couple times to examine the aggressor's potential loadouts, giving some serious thought to the idea of switching over. There was no guarantee, of course. They may just tell her to shut up and take her damn hostile...

Lisa coughed a little. Clearing her throat and looking away, she quickly took one cigarette and lit it. Normally it was Lisa doing all the flirting and seducing, being at the other side was strangely refreshing. It was kinda nice. It also helped get her into better mood. Good thing Lisa never was one to dwell on being miserable. Some people got kicks of it. Lisa was more happy being happy. Problems come and go, there is no reason to dwell on them until they show up again. Especially if there is a very hot red-head flirting with you.

"I will do my best to keep you save." Lisa replied with smile. She blew a smoke to side to make sure Claire would not have to smell it. Who knows if she liked it or not. "It would be real waste if someone as lovely came to any harm." Lisa was not going to hold back either.

"Appreciated. I'll do my best to make sure no squid gets to have it's way with you before I do." Claire laughs, having fun with the banter. She raised a hand to the cigarette, signaling she wasn't a smoker. She didn't complain about having smoke in her vicinity though. "I tell you what, hon. Once we're done shooting things, I'll get my things put away and cook a little something for us both. Anything in particular you'd like to eat?" She was hoping it was something she could make. She wasn't a chef, but enjoyed making wholesome food.

...Assuming the local chef would let her toy with the appliances, that is.

Sawyer would get up and follow Lisa, waiting for a lull in the conversation before he'd introduce himself to the redhead "Hi there, name's Sawyer but Lisa here calls me Heavy, because of my preferred armor. I'm the resident demo guy and heavy firepower operator. You are?" He said in his rather cheerful voice. He was still getting used to his obvious cybernetic leg which was showing off the artwork he'd etched into it.

Lisa laughed cheerfully. It seemed she got a dinner-date withing just few minutes. How does that happen to her all the time? Not that she was against it really. "Well I could go for a past. Ship's so called 'chef' is not exactly versed in the magic of fine tastes. He just makes hamburgers." Lisa explained.

Sawyer came to say hello then. "Hi Heavy," she just said, to give Claire enough time to say hello.

Claire smirked. "Well, I'm sure some chicken or pork would be a welcome change. Depending on how you enjoy it. I also make good pasta combos." *She smiles to herself a bit, different recipes running through her mind. She mentally checked herself that she'd have to do with what they had on board. Couldn't get too fancy.

She gives the newcomer to the conversation a warm smile "Hiya! Name's Claire Winters, Just Claire will do." She gives him an acknowledging nod. "I'm sure the name 'heavy' is just because you've got a whole lot of love." *She chuckles*

Lisa smiled yet again looking at Claire. Seems like the woman generally liked to flirt. It was nice to have someone cheerful on the ship for a change. Her eyes also went to Sawyer, who was also her last catch. Lisa even had great time with him, he bought her that dress too. Though she made pretty clear they are not an item. Lisa was not looking into falling in relationship. She was way too young for that. Not to mention she could get killed easily too.

"Yes, Sergeant. I knew Bern wouldn't be here but I didn't quite expect... well, that he was so well-known. Even Sergeant Rochester made a comment about my brother. He also warned me to beware white haired vixens, but I'm not sure who he was talking about."

Matthias threw a glance at Laura, smirking with a mischievous aura. He had thought the warning would have applied to her but it seemed... obvious considering the seemingly-bubbly and tactile nature of the clone. And then there had been that other white haired woman, Ice. So, two women who fit the description were clearly dangerous in their own ways. Was Sergeant Volkov an exception? The baleful red eye was a little daunting. But only because it conveyed no emotion.

Growing up on Nepleslia and then Prime, in the streets and in the Greer family clinic, Matthias was used to seeing less-than-whole people. He had learnt about the theory of cybernetic prosthetics before he enlisted. The Greers were family doctors, capable of surgeries and general practice, but if someone needed cybernetics, they had to see someone else.

"He doesn't look anything like Bernie. He even smiles more than Bernie. Are you really related to Bernie?" Laura asked suspiciously.

"Aye, sir. Actually, I've opted for a new RAIDER suit instead, I can handle the HPAR outside a suit so I should still be able to use it."

Phaedra raised an eyebrow.

"I am surprised you would want a lighter armor, Rita. I guessed you would want to upgrade to an Aggressor. At this point, I will suggest you use a Hostile at least, but our mission may dictate otherwise."

"Yes, Sergeant. I knew Bern wouldn't be here but I didn't quite expect... well, that he was so well-known. Even Sergeant Rochester made a comment about my brother. He also warned me to beware white haired vixens, but I'm not sure who he was talking about."

"White Haired Vixens?" thought Phaedra. A smirk crossed Phaedra's lips.

"I'm certain he meant you, Laura. Although now there are three of us to be wary of."

"He doesn't look anything like Bernie. He even smiles more than Bernie. Are you really related to Bernie?" Laura asked suspiciously.

"Leave it to Laura to ask the obvious question," thought Phaedra.

"Glad to have you aboard, Matthias," said Phaedra with a nod of her head. Her Datajockey chimed with a new message:

Code:
Message: Drei
Santiago, Leon is now conscious in post-op and able to take visitors.
Ensign Robinson said you wished to be informed.
Phaedra found an overwhelming feeling of relief wash over her, and then was suprised that she was even worried. She very much wanted to see Leon now that he was awake.

Phaedra tapped a message into her datapad and sent it to Morris.

Code:
Henry, I am going to start the training simulation soon. Have your new recruits ready in 10 minutes please.
Phaedra then sent another message:

Code:
Attention Plainsview, LaSalle, Talbain. The training simulation will start in 10 minutes. Please enter your PAs now.

As Francis was enjoying his brief downtime, he heard a message pop up on his Datajockey.
Code:
Attention Plainsview, LaSalle, Talbain. The training simulation will start in 10 minutes. Please enter your PAs now.
Francis quickly grabbed up his Datajockey and read Phaedra's message. He sent a salute her way to show her he'd gotten the message, then ran over to his new Hostile. Francis climbed in, started up the systems. He felt his PA almost spring to life as it turned on, and Francis felt at home in his metal suit. He then sent Phaedra a message to let her know he was ready for the simulation.
Code:
Message: Lasalle
Good to go for the sim, Sgt.

Ice hovered at the edge of the group of energetic Marines, trying only somewhat awkwardly to both keep half and eye on all the movement around her as well as run through her checks on the suit. Crowds, especially ones full of faces she didn't recognize, still made her nervous even after Basic. She didn't exactly expect a random fight, though after the fight in the transport she didn't dismiss the possibility either. She still owed that asshole giant, but this military thing came first.

She'd trained on the older WATER suits, since that's what they had in enough surplus to let recruits rough them up, though she had plenty of hours of sim time in a Hostile. But other than a whirlwind physical familarization course on the trip out, she'd barely touched an actual Hostile suit. Still, she wasn't stupid. It was genetically impossible for her to be. She quickly ran through the checklists they'd all been drilled on as she circled her suit, making sure that all hookups were in place, all armour plates true and fastened, and all joints were clear.

She had a moment of standing almost awkwardly when she received a message from the Sergeant.
Code:
Attention Plainsview, LaSalle, Talbain. The training simulation will start in 10 minutes. Please enter your PAs now.
Nodding, she opened up the suit and stepped inside. Powering up, she began running the standard systems checks; servos, sensors, shield power test... After a few minute long routine that checked all the moving parts without actually moving anywhere, she reported back to the sergeant.
Code:
Message: Plainsview
All systems nominal, sergeant. Ready to roll.

"Heh, could be that too I suppose" Sawyer chuckled at Claire's response. "I'm just glad that I can get back into my standard Aggressor suit, sooner or later I'm going to have enough Iron Devices to build myself a little fort to hide inside of. More is always better in my opinion, whether it be armor, food, firepower, booze, or hot chicks." He said the last with a wink at Lisa and at Claire.
