"Understand, this is an opportunity we should make the most of. Many of the problems the Empire has encountered in the past has often come from simple misunderstandings. Be sure to send status reports at 15 minute increments, and learn what you can without resorting to interrogation." Came Josea's telepathic response to Saki.

The Neshaten left with the rest of the crew motioned and spoke in Neshaten, "If you will kindly follow us. We will escort you to one of the relaxation areas. There you can meet with others of our people." came the translation in Yamataian.

The Daur turned to Saki. "No need for you to stand guard. Safe are your people. If you wish to see elsewhere, assign you an escort to show you." came her reply.

Saki frowned a bit to herself as she received the message from Josea. Technically even he was a civilian, he had a formal rank which was higher than hers. So in a way she had to listen to him. Saki did not have to like it though.

"All right," she sent telepathically back to Josea. "But as soon as you even smell some danger you call me okay? I don't see any reason to trust these people for now."

As the Daur talked to her, her eyes were blank. She was sending the message to Josea after all. It only took a second and then she looked at the furred man.

"I understand," she said back to him and started walking to catch up with Sheela and others. On the way she passed one of the small Bunny-like creatures. Saki crouched next to it and reached out. The animal smelled at nekovalkyrja's fingers and then looked up to her. The blue-haired soldier smiled and petted the tiny bunny on the head.

"You are so adorable, I could die," she whispered to the animal in cute voice. "But aunty has to run now."

With that she got up and jogged to catch up with others, looking over her should at the tiny bunnimal.

Sheela's Tinacen was improving slowly as she and the Daur continued in teaching each other their language with and without the aid of the translator. Sometimes words were exchanged that made the other Daurs, nearby, expression change. But they understood that Sheela was making an honest effort in learning their language to communicate.

When ever one of the bunny-like creatures got near Sheela. She would gently slide it away from her with her foot. It would be horrible if she stepped on it. Even though she wondered what sound it would make. She wandered with the Daur about the place with no concerns for her safety once she had her attention focused on learning Tinacen, the Nashetan language. Enjoying the time learning and broadening her experience and knowledge.

"Conference Room, officers can speak without being disturbed," the Daur spoke in response to Sheela's question.

The group of Neshaten lead the Aeon group down a rather narrow hallway with just enough room for people to walk on either side. The hallway was made out of a transparent material which allow light from above to filter through the ice and into the hallway, providing at least a measure of illumination for the Yamatains to see - but yet not enough to blind the Neshaten. "In here," one of the Daur gestured toward a door, which opened soundlessly as they approuched.

The room they had entered a rather spacious one, circular in appearance, and was comprised of several levels; it was also bustling with activity. There were Daur, Laibe, and My'leke moving about the room some carrying containers while others just seemed to be talking to one another. "Recreational Area," another Daur said as the software translated. "This room connects to most others in the facility, including residential," the Daur gestured below them. "You not go there though, place off-limits for now."

As this Daur spoke, another group of Daur approuched from a side room; they all wore the same uniform that Kata'nova had been wearing when the Aeon crew found her and all appeared to be rather young.

Yoshiro followed and looked around at all the people and wondered if he should ask about them "What are the young ones doing here?" Yoshiro asked one of the Daur that were escorting them

The Daur waited a moment to speak. "They are members of Youth Corp," he said and stuffed one hand into his left pocket. "Stationed here to serve as part of our security force," as he spoke four U'renese ran past them, three jumped onto the shoulders of of the young Daur's while the last one ran up toward the front of the group and almost looked to have taken the lead. "If you want to talk to them, feel free," he offered and stepped off to the side; the young Daur were gathered near a window that peered outward toward a large resevoir of water.

Elsewhere in the room, a My'leke watched the Aeon group; despite laying down on the ground with his paws covering most of his face, his third eye was open. Another indivisual, a Laibe who was being accompanied by others, watched the Aeon crew from two floors above, their arms resting up against the rails as they spoke with their companions.

He walked over to one of the Youth corps members and smiled, hopefully showing no hostility. "So, what is it like here? Do you like the work that you do?" Yoshiro asked trying to get some basic information "I am sorry about the questions but I am curious about your people and what people do as far as you are concerned."

One of the Daur, a female, turned toward Yoshiro and beamed. "It's fun," she remarked and looked down at her hands for a moment then back at Yoshiro. "My friends and I are part of the facilities security detail, although right now we are on break." She cocked her head curiously to one side and then spoke some more. "No worry about questions, you are curious, nothing wrong with being curious," she smiled almost child-like at him.

Vui'ye, the Daur whom was with the Aeon group, placed a hand on his hip as he watched.

"There are others," another youngling spoke, this one a male, as he turned toward the Aeon crew with curious looking eyes.

Saki meanwhile sat on her heels in front of one of the bunny creatures. So far they were the best thing about this whole trip. Although she had to say that the four-legged aliens that were part of the Neshaten were very interesting as well. This would be first time she would even hear about intelligent race that was not humanoid.

Saki was busy, scratching the bunny behind its ear, when she heard the young kit talking to Yoshiro. The blue haired neko raised her head to face the daur girl.

"You are security?" Saki asked, reconfirming again. "I apologise if that insults you, but to us having children in army is very strange."

Sheela gaining the advantage of knowing the language, could pick up the undercurrents and other conversations going around them. Even if it was bits and pieces. Her animalistic part of her genetic make up, made it easier to speak the Nashaten Language. And the more she used it, even with all the mistakes in nuances of accents, she was getting the hang of the language. Her eyes always on the move, even with glances up to the upper levels. As a former combat pilot, she thought in 3 directions, forward and back, left n right, and up n down. Ears swiveling to pick up on conversation going on around her while paying attention to the ones she was with.

She moved along with her group of Duars, deeper into the facility under the guidance of the Duar that was with her, enjoying sharing some good tech stories of their past jobs. Sharing the common ground of professions. It was obvious that Sheela was a good tech, but didn't know the intricacies of the development behind the equipment.

Sheela aware of her surroundings, realized she was separated from the rest of the group that didn't go with the Command Group for First Contact Meeting with the Neshatens.

For a moment the youngling stared at Saki in thought, then spoke up. "Sometimes, us kits can do things that adults can't do," she then smiled and looked toward a nearby vent where a group of younglings were just now coming out of, they seemed to be inspecting it - with one having a holographic pad in their hand and taking notes while the others were inspecting the insides and even the outsides.

"I do not want to insult you. It is just that.... it feels strange to send younglings to take care of job of an adult." Saki replied to the young kit. She sighed and continued to scratch the bunny creature which meanwhile climbed into her lap and curled up on it. "For my kind we do serve very young, but at least your bodies are adult, we are fully trained and capable to defend our country. I killed first enemy while few months young. Uhh.. not sure how well describe a month to you. It is short passage of time, jsut 30 ship-days. Well sorry, I babble. I do not want to criticise, I just find strange for younglings to be part of fighting force."

"Ummm... month?" the Kit obviously had never heard of that word, she cradled her rifle as she placed a finger up to her chin in thought. "I'm afraid I do not know if our language has a word similiar to that, do you?" she turned toward another Kit in the group who shrugged their shoulders and another who shook their head. Then she turned back toward Saki. "You killed someone when you were only a few old?" she asked, not mentioning the month since she didn't know what it meant. "Most of us haven't killed anyone yet, but we will eventually and before we attain adulthood."

Vui'ye nodded and looked toward the group. "Our younglings have a lot to offer to us, if we go and ignore their capabilities, then we lesson ourselves not only as a people but also as a military force. If you want to know more about the Corp, then one of you could join them on their patrol. Otherwise, we should continue the tour."

Yoshiro was curious and decided to take up the kit's offer. "I'll go with the patrol. I am curious as to what you do." he said to the kit that spoke. "That is if it is ok with you, Arai-heisho." Tanaka then waited for Saki to answer.

Saki looked back at Yoshiro and thought for a bit. "All right, you can go." She replied to the man. After all they were ordered to learn as much as possible. "I will clear it with XO should anything happen. Just be careful."

The neko than turned back to kit she spoke to. "My apologies, had to talk with my subordinate," Saki told the young fox lady and nodded. "Well a month is what amount to thirty or thirty-one day-night cycles. Let's just say that I was very very young during my first battle, though my body was fully adult. To be frank, I wish you to never have to kill. Though if you have to, you should not hesitate. In battle it is about you and your team-mates."

Sheela moved with the Duar she had befriended off in a different section of the big underground base. She took in everything she saw as she conversed with the Daur she was with. She poked into places that she was allowed to have access with permission. Discussing merits of technology of what she had encountered as the Duar returned the favor discussing the merits of Neshaten Technology.

She was slightly worried after so many turns and twist. Level changes, Sheela was lost and separated from the rest. But that didn't stop her from enjoying the outing with the Daur. She probably was the less threatening of the group of Yamataians.

Araan sidled up with the rest of his unit after a few moments lost in though, maintaining a close position to Saki. The ever pervasive feeling of doubt still hung over him about how quickly adaptions were coming along, but he maintained a tight-lipped silence. His eyes closed for a moment as he took in the scent of the place once more. Listening into Saki's conversation he nodded along with the comments about battle. Knowing too well what it was like to lose those around you in battle his mind rewound the thoughts of his time spent as a slave.

At that moment a deep rumbling sound was heard, and the very ground beneath the away team seemed to roll up and then down. The low lights mounted in the passage way flickered briefly and then resumed.

From wall mounted speakers an announcement came out in Tinacen. The translation software of the team would make it out as. "Groundshake force 5. Report any damage or injuries to control.

Vui'ye looked at their communicator. Their was no alerts raised within the base. "Apologies our guest. This facility is for research and the area is geologically active. We experience several ground shakes a day but none of serious enough to cause damage."

"Squea?!" Sheela grabbed the nearest thing which happened to be a Daur she was with and hung on for dear life till the shaking stopped.

Hearing the explanation."Are yooz guys insane?!" in Yamataian, letting them hear the translations. "Setting up shop on an unstable area?!!" Her voice had an irritating squeal to it to show her unease. She looked around her, still having a death grip on the nearest Duar's arm she was with. If she was gong to die by natural phenomenon, at least one of these canines called Daurs is going to die with her. So she could kick it's butt for the rest of eternity.

Yoshiro looked up after the shaking had stopped. "Is everyone all right?" He said moving about the room to check on people. When he arrived at where Sheela was he talked to her. "Calm down, Sheela. This may have been the only place that they could have built this place. That aside, do you have any injuries anywhere?" He said to Sheela, trying to calm her down and trying to be nice about it because he was a bit scared about this as well.
