Abart had just holstered his ASP just as Sacre had come over to hand him and Nerai the batteries, as cheerful as always. "Heh, indeed. Though this one was probaby pretty close, judging from her yammering." He patted nerai on the shoulder as he said that, who had just finished attatching her helmet. "Well duh, you know i hate cold more than anything! If i knew we'd be stuck down some heckin' ice crevace i would've brought some Cocoa....." Aaaand there's that pout again.

Abart took the two batteries for him and Nerai with a light nod. "Ah, thanks. These will surely come in handy." He slipped his battery onto one attatchment point right beside the diamond survival knife, opposite of his pistol. "Knowing you've got our backs warms me confidence more than these heating pads do." He said with a smirk, before slithering off after Hoshi and the rest with a grumpy Nerai'tha in tow. The muzzled furkin briefly caught his attenttion for a second, first time seeing one dem folk. He seemed a tad "lost" amongst these halls of ice and snow, and moreso amongst the crew, so Abart made a mental note to keep an eye out on him just in case.

Briefing Room/Underneath the Center of the Temple

William nodded at the orders and immediately followed Eden out, as he didn't need to change. Using his mindware he hooked into the squad net. In his cybernetic eye, it displayed a readout of his current status.

Integrity: 100%
Power Output: 100%
Squad Link: Confirmed
Strength Augmentation: Activated
Armor: Linked to Mindware
Shield: Ready for use

The Nepleslian smirked. "I'm ready to go." He said to Eden as he followed along behind her. His eye once again toggled over to night vision as he walked through the darkened, icy corridor. He left his hands out of his pockets as he walked, running a finger over the ice. He felt the cold ice under his fingertips, though it was slightly different... It wasn't as cold as it should have been. It didn't hurt to keep his hand on the wall as they walked. He shook his head and focused on the walk. He would just have to get used to his new limbs is all.

Once Eden stopped, he looked up at the hole in the ice and examined the perfectly carved opening. He moved his hands so that they rested on the hilts of his swords. William then opened another private channel to Eden. "Shosa? What are your orders for me during this exercise?" He asked telepathically.

Briefing Room

Mikael kept to himself through out the trip to the area, not engaging in idle chitchat and responding in a straightforward manner to his superior NCOs and officers. Any time anyone looked at him, he was either focused on the task at hand or reading up on something.

Within the briefing room, he remained the same way. The new suit fascinated him on many levels, as he compared it to the capabilities of his current SAINT issued stealth suit.

Though the communal changing into the suits did cause a shaking of his head as he did similarly, ignoring the cold as much as he could. "Some things just do not change." He thought to himself.

It also perplexed him that non-SAoY were allowed to know of the existence let alone be near others being briefed by others with the clearance and need to know. Klaxons were blaring in his head, but he for now until he can have a detailed conversation with the Captian will just be a passive observer taking notes.

Once fully suited, made the nesscary connections of his communication system with others and uses the holograms of the suit to produce the same uniform they had been wearing previously. No point in sticking out if that is the whole point to this exercise.

Underneath the Center of the Temple

Mikael followed after the rest to the location Eden had stopped at. Using his eyes and passive sensors of the suit, he looks around at all of the footprints determining how fresh or old they are, the likely weight/species of the one making them, the rate of speed, and directions they are coming/going to.

He then looks up to the hole the Shosa points to, analyzing it as well. One can never have too much information. Especially when it comes to mapping out a new location.

Briefing Room -> Under the center of the temple

Once she and everyone else was suited, Ume took a moment to identify everyone with her onboard sensor systems and make sure there were no IFF errors. She could probably eyeball it at the distances they were fighting, but she didn't want to give room for mistakes. With no apparent errors, Ume was able to relax a little and then made her way onward with the others.

With Eden's words about the distance, Ume took a moment to construct a mental map of the area, she had slacked a bit before because of the cold, but now that she was focused she created an accurate image in her mind, in case it was needed in the future. "Why did they pick such a cold place for the temple?"

Prepping the suit was easy enough even for someone not used to the system, so Miyako barely had to spend any time on it. Instead she gave a cursory check of her communications system so that she could keep in touch with those members of the team who didn't have a neko's ability, made sure again that the suit's zipper was securely in place, and then followed along in silence with the rest of the group once she was sure all of her gear was properly prepared. Of course she carefully recorded the route they took to memory in the event that it was needed.

When they arrived under the apparent center of the temple, Miyako decided she would be proactive about the carved hole indicated to the group. She activated the suit's optical camouflage as a precaution while taking to hover up from the ground and towards the ceiling. The medic twisted and turned in the air so that she would come belly-up towards the ceiling but stopped just shy of touching it and just close enough to the carved hole that she could just barely creep to its edge. It was much better for her to investigate it from here than from the bottom of the chamber they were in.

Briefing Room

Alastair wasted no time getting suited up. The suit fit snuggle against his strong form. He took a moment to look himself over. "Suit feels great and does a great job showing off my assets." He said with a chuckle

Alastair took his gear he had brought and fitted it over his new suit. It was light and had just enough gear to give options. He smiled as he reached the bottom of the pack where he had put his explosive fun. Within seconds the backpack was filled up again and he was soon not far behind Eden.

Underneath the Center of the Temple

Alastair was in fact counting steps and knew exactly how far they had moved from when they reached the bottom of the ladder. The HUD of his suit was working fully and was giving key information about himself and the team. He listened to what Eden had to say which was very interesting. What place would be able to stop sensor scans. He moved to where he could see up into the hole Eden had pointed out.

Underneath the Center of the Temple

Sacre busied herself with making sure she was getting all of her readings on the health and status of her teammates and making sure Care and her were sharing information as usual. She looked up at the stone foundation of the temple. She didn't have any good ideas about how to get through it. Well, they could cut through it, but she assumed that cutting through it with anything they already had on hand had already been tried. "What kind of deranged crayon eating builder puts the door in the foundation?" She mused.

Briefing Room >>> Underneath the center of the Temple

Since his days of training, the newer member of the team had grown used to seeing his fellows in arms in minimal wear... he just wasn't comfortable joining them, avoiding all eye contact while he slipped away his standard issue uniform and tossing it to the ground. His entire body would tremble in the process, becoming almost gelatinous in behavior as every muscle reverberated in a massive bodily earthquake. He rushed to put the suit on as fast as he could, though his steadily numbing fingers made the process become a nearly impossible feat. With gritted teeth and both hands, he managed to close up the suit around him with a sigh of relief while it clicks on. It wasn't too comfortable of a fit, what with it probably made for Nekovalkyrja as opposed to human wear.

It took a second or two for the heat within the suit to kick in at a high enough temp for Darwin to successfully warm up, a sigh escaping his lungs while he hunched over in relief. It were as though her were wrapped in a stretchy electric blanket, the comfort spreading over his limbs and core. "Oh that's such a relief..." He murmurs while a goofy grin curls on his lips. For a brief moment, his helmet would fog up fro the heat of his body hitting the cool glass, but the internal systems would get rid of that in seconds.

He would pull himself into an upright position to follow the rest of the team as they forged on. All the while, he would sync his suits systems to those of his team members.

Under The Temple

So this is what they're here for. They need to survey this temple - though something felt off. He'd scratch his chin, but his hand only clanked against his helmet, prompting him to stare at the hole in the ceiling as though it could melt away and reveal all above it by doing so. "Too thick to scan... and in an icy place like this. Feels almost like a setup for a film if you ask him. He lowers his gaze to the rest of the team.

Underneath the Center of the Temple

Miyako would be able to notice that after a good many feet, the hole abruptly ended on what looked like a foundation of the temple, as Sacre suggested.

To Ume, Eden said, “This is an incredibly ancient temple and was built before this was a cold place, Santo Hei. Incredibly ancient.” To Sacre, she said, "There is no door." Then, to William, Eden put a hand on his shoulder and she sent him a message mind to mind, "Orders will follow."

Mikael and Katsu could notice that there were indents in the ice as if equipment had been set down in it for a lengthy amount of time and the hole in the ceiling looked to be the center point of a lot of scraping of equipment. While everything else was chiseled to relatively precise extent, including the cylindrical innards of the hole Maki was now floating up, the outer edges looked as if a great deal and different kinds of equipment had been put up there and apparently found to be useless.

As Kasumi continued onward, the trampled ice underfoot became lessened and it seemed that this part of the hallway led to an often unused part of the underside of the temple.

"You'll notice that your sensors aren't picking up some signals they should have been getting if this were any other standard AIES inside of the helmet. It is, in fact, standard. The problem is there is interference. That's where we come in." She took out a plasma cutter from her upper left arm where, underneath the First Expeditionary Fleet patch, was a black cargo pocket.

From it came a non-SAoY issue plasma cutter and she asked Miyako, "Please take this and cut a circle with a circumference of our widest member, Santo Hei, in the foundation. Command deems it appropriate this course of action, so it's good enough for me. If you're not up to it, I am right here." With that, she lifted onto her toes and tapped off of the ground and into the air, made her way to Miayko, and held out the plasma cutter for her after stealthily attaching the forward grip.

Briefing Room

As Abart was thinking about the Neshaten and William was going over diagnostics, Hoshi went into the locker room Eden had gone into and began rummaging around. She then scooted into the briefing room that had become the impromptu changing room and escorted everyone to underneath the center of the temple.

Mark followed the rest of the crew as they went. He took note of every detail, his eyes now glowing as had activated his HUD causing his organic irises to glow crimson. He optical scanned the path and began to watch as they stopped.

Underneath the Center of the Temple

"So we are going up to discover the source of the interference. Makes sense. Has to be quite the technology to survive, powered, for this long if it is ancient. Or quite the material. Or possibly brand new, which give an entirely new variable to the situation."

Mikael said, finally during this trip, listing the options out loud like he was determining the proper hypothesis to pursue. He then looks at the surrounding ice of the hole.

"How structurally sound is the ice and ground, Shosa?"

Mikael asks. He was going to say something more, but decides against it.

Underneath the Center of the Temple

Kasumi continued to venture through the ice, her footsteps quiet and demure as she moved. Kasumi decided to only retain her tactile senses, utilizing AIES to take care of the rest. The diminutive Nekovalkyrja quickly realized that she was entering an area that was seldom tred or utilized.

Since her sensors were not picking up a full set of signals, Kasumi decided to wait before pressing onward into the depths. If the Shosa did not find a consistent solution to the sensor issues, she intended to explore deeper with the permission of the officers. She was utilizing the AIES linked sensor suite as her primary method of external detection. Kasumi pondered whether or not it would be more efficient for her to control the suit naturally instead, while she waited for Eden to enact her solution.

Miyako floated down from the hole when she realized a member of the team was coming up to meet her. She accepted the plasma cutter with a small nod and a smile under her mask, "Hai, Shosa. Its as good as done~!" She sounded chipper as she looked over the various people below her. The variance in size didn't seem too great and so she doubted she'd have much trouble. She disappeared back up the hole and reactivated the suit's optic camouflage to completely hide herself.

Just because she was about to cut a big hole in someone's floor didn't mean that she had to let them see her face-to-face when it opened up. So with that in mind the torch sparked to life and soon the arc touched ancient stonework to heat-blast it away. The neko medic worked carefully but as quickly as she could to make sure that they weren't going to spend too much longer under this apparent tunnel. One hand was on the cutter, obviously, and the other was pressed palm-flat against the center of the segment she was cutting out.

When it was cut free the medic quickly stowed the plasma cutter and put both hands to work supporting the stonework circle. She gave up altitude and lowered it to the ground out of the tunnel with the circle-cut overhead. Soon it was on the ground and she signaled to the others that it was cleared.

Katsu looked up and watched how his comrades worked. He had listened to the words of their commanding officer, thinking about what could have caused those interferences. Finally he spoke up though and said "Shosa Eden, I volunteer to go through the opening first. In case that interference disturbs the suit's nightvision, I will still be able to see." After he finished talking, he activated his suit's systems, the small fins of the flight system extending as he got ready, while the palm weapons charged, setting one palm to stun and one to normal mode, just to be prepared for either situation.

Assuming he was given the OK from Eden, Katsu would then fly up and prepare to move in, activating his stealth systems as he passed through the hole and looked around.

Underneath Center of the Temple

Eden had been giving Maki the room she needed to work and let the medic do so unassisted. Truly, this was a technician’s job. Eden thought back happily on her chief engineer as the Shosa floated near the ice floor. It was a hard mission to face with your family gone, but the new and old faces alike in this bitterly cold environment warmed her heart enough to presss onwards.

To Mikael, she said, “Very,” quite tersely as she watched Miyako work and then turned to the SAINT operative to pat him on the shoulder. “I have a good idea of what you’re thinking, but the foundation will hold. This temple is hundreds of feet long and wide, though. That should be taken into account. As well as what we’ll do when we’re leaving…” She turned to look over her shoulder at Kasumi and then popped over to Kasumi’s line of vision through her sensors and HUD that her AIES relayed to her and then recognized that there was a passageway she had not been briefed on. It went another hundred feet from the center of the temple and then there was a sharp left turn. Eden gritted her teeth.

As interesting as it would be to allow Kasumi to continue to explore the North Western underside of the temple that the glacial archeologists that came before them had carved, but she didn’t know the dangers of doing so. As Hoshi jogged up, Eden looked to the captain and then behind her back.

Hoshi took the cue and continued jogging until her hand was next to the hard point on Kasumi’s shoulder.”Let’s form up on the Shosa’s position. We can be the last in. Mark,” Hoshi said, turning her attention to him over team comms, "I want you available at a moment's notice when we're up there."

Meanwhile, Eden had given Katsu a little nod and a quick, “Hai, Santo Hei. Proceed.”

Level One
Center of the Temple

When Katsu had gotten into an almost entirely empty cubical room about forty feet by forty feet, he would see that all it that contained was an altar on the Eastern wall to a nude ((OOC - NSFW)) maiden sipping from a saucer while one knee bent over the other and a demure look swept over her face. Hair curled upwards, towards the high ceiling, which was about thirty feet.

Eden herself floated up the cylindrical hole in the ice and foundation with one hand open in case of unfiendlies. When things looked clear, she looked around the room then did a sensor scan and sent what she got back from her scans to the team before calling out to her team, "I've got something! Make your way up here. I want logistics and that UNSAFE up behind a few of you to clear the doorway to the Western wall."

What she sent to them was a map of the first three floors of the temple. It seemed the main stone walls of the temple had lasted but whatever material the doors were made out of were gone, so every doorway was open and easy to enter. The top thee floors were obscured in ice but were the same layout as the third floor. Above that was the rooftop and some thirty feet of ice.

Alastair floated up, his suit flipping into stealth mode as he entered the room above and was impressed with the architecture of the place. "This place didn't seem so eerie be the perfect spot to take a date on." He commented over comms as he pulled his side arm and started to move around to clear rooms.

They are some 30ft under ice and many more floors further down. Whatever might be alive in this place would not be friendly he thought to himself. He pressed up against a wall and leaned around into a room, gun drawn ready to blast the first thing that moved.

Level One

Yoshida followed along with the others, albiet with a running start, and the biggest jump she could muster. While utterly pointless as far as actual effectivness went, at least it looked nice. The survival pack on her back was a minor issue, but simply taking it off and holding it above her head as she went through the hole proved an easy solution.

"Allright! Shouldn't be too hard now- just watch out for ghosts!" Yoshida pulled out her plasma blade as she said this, as if that was the perfect ghost busting weapon, keeping it inactive for the time being. A tool like that was not to be activated on a whim when you didn't have the sheilds and armor to back yourself up against your own weapon. Sidearm and blade both in hand, Yoshida searched the more immedeate area for threats before moving to the aforementioned western wall. "Breach and clear the ancient, icy temple yeah?" She walked with her typical, tip toe hopping gait as normal, activating her stealth as she moved. It would be a hard choice, between comparing her to a predator on the prowl, or a playful cat ready to pounce.

He watched as a few members begin to enter the hole in the ceiling. "There's gotta be some way to get up there." he murmurs while his eyes scan the room in hopes of finding a rope or something that he could use to climb up not only this hole, but other passageways in the future. Besides, you never know when you'll need a rope anyways. Perhaps the previous people to be here would have left something. "Anyone got a rope? Or maybe a lift?" He would ask, looking around at his crewmates. "Sorry for the dead weight. Just... can't exactly jump... or fly." Behind his helmet's facemask, his teammates could see a sheepish smile across his face. The topic is something of an embarrassment for him, harking back to his days in the academy, where he was essentially the last one in and the last one out, not because he chose to be, but because of his species.

At least his fellow crew members are Nekovalkyrja. Their innate advantages in physiology should be enough to provide him a boost when necessary... besides, a human can be an asset, right? An extra set of eyes one less bullet to take?

In the back of his head, he would remember the suggestion to switch bodies from awhile back. He shakes his head. The very idea seemed uncomfortable to him. Plus, in all fairness, he enjoyed that he's male. It just wouldn't feel right in a Nekovalkyrja body. It wouldn't feel like Darwin.

Underneath

Mikael nods towards the Shosa after a brief micro expression of discomfort from the pat on the shoulder.

"Gathering all variables in a situation for analysis is my job Shosa."

He sends to her via an encrypted and very low powered text wireless communication. No point in the others knowing he is actively shutting them out.

He watches a number of the lower ranking going up before he activate his optical camo and flies up slowly through the hole.

Level One

Once he is through, he takes a position to take a knee. Making sure others behind him have room to enter, he scans the room passively.

Mark looked towards the captain. Then looked at Darwin after he spoke, "Don't worry, I got you. My armor has thrust, so I can boost you. Name's Mark Oaklen."

["Affirmative captain, on standby and awaiting tasking. Whatever you need, I'm your man."] He sent via Geist shortly after Hoshi's communication as he offered Darwin a handshake.
