Inside of one of the cities many military bases, a Daur sat casually in a plush looking chair, her dark blue eyes staring out over the vast city - her office was on the seventh floor of the bases second administrative building, she could watch as people below went about their daily activities; her office had three pains of glass which allowed to see most of the city. It was a weekend, so most of the traffic below were comprised of children headed to the base for militia training, there were no cars - instead - cars moved underground, away from the above ground pedistrian traffic - although people could watch these cars thanks to some area's of the walkways that were transparent.

The girl leaned back in her chair, it made a creaking sound which caused her to stop momentarily, then shrug. At this moment there was a knock. "Enter," she said and turend the chair halfway. The door slide open quietly and a My'leke entered the room, sporting the rank patch of a warrant officer.

"Sera'ta'kon Chi'ka Jukiso'me'sane," spoke the My'leke as their tail moved around into a salute. "I have the latest report on the status of the ship."

Chi'ka smiled. "Go ahead," she didn't turn her chair toward the soldier, and instead kept the back of it toward them.

The My'leke let out a breath. "The ships chief engineer reports that it'll be at least another few hours before the testing of the ships prototype reactor is finished, at least three hours minimum."

"Give him four, considering the nature of our mission I don't want us to be flying out of this base and then suddenly become a light show for the citizenry..." her voice trailed off as she noticed a ship out of the corner of her eyes - a She'tan'ora, one of the most badly designed ships in the Navy, at least in her opinion. "How long will it take once the tests are finished for the ship to be fully supplied?"

"That's already been completed ma'am, only thing that is lacking are the starfighters which will join us once we get into space."

"I see, was hoping they'd join us on the ground for out-bound escort, but I guess not everything can go as planned," the girl sighed; but her eyes still focused on the approaching ship, which soon disappeared behind several large buildings. "What about the crew?"

"They are arriving as we speak, and per your orders, they are being escorted to the recreational hall. Certain members of the bridge crew, including your XO, have been told to report directly to you first thing upon arrival," The My'leke looked down at the report and then placed it on the officers desk.

Chi'ka smiled, turning her chair toward the front, and then getting up out of it. The My'leke blinked, and watched her, Chi'ka wore the uniform of a Sera'ta'kon, she had light gray pants on with a light gray jacket, they could barely notice the dark blue undershirt. The jacket had two blue bands that ran from the top of the shoulders down the front of the jacket, on the back was a dirty red colored cape that was attached to the jackets shoulders. On her wrists were gauntlets and her boots were knee high. "You are dismissed."

The My'leke saluted once more and then left. Chi'la sighed and ran a hand through her hair, "this will be one of the most interesting, and perhaps dangerous, missions." She recalled what the King had said to her just a few hours earlier, the mission to hunt down a mole within the Kingdom while still taking on the Queen's core mission of discovering new worlds. "At least we have a large ship, plenty of supplies, lots of equipment, but that doesn't mean that things will go as planned."

The girl walked over to the window, and peered outward, her eyes drawn toward a large number of shuttles making their way toward the debarkation area. She knew these shuttles, they were assigned to the ship that she was to command and were currently being used to ferry the ships crew to the base from the spaceport.

It was strange feeling, strange in that she breathed non-recycled air again. Nor heard the background thrum of power conduits ferrying electricity throughout the ship. Her last post had been aboard a ship. Traveling the width and breadth of the fledgling Kingdom. Some would say it wasn't a glamorous posting. And in truth it hadn't been for that vessel's crew. For her, for Ay'indri it had been her job to root out that special brand of trouble and excise it. So she took a moment. Soaking in the sunshine and the smells that wafted in the air. Grease, ozone, coolants and fuel. All the hallmarks of a landing area. People moved to and fro, some went about their jobs. Others disembarked from the shuttles just as she had. With a slow sway of her tail, the Agent let her eyes bounce off each individual in turn. Even the docking crews.

It was habit. It was training. Something that had been hammered into her mind over and over. Jet-black hair spilled over a shoulder at a turn of her head. Her destination was ahead. The building's shadow loomed over the shuttle port. Tossing the aforementioned hair back over her shoulder, the Or'ion Agent moved forward with a smooth, graceful gait toward her destination.

It had been just a few minutes of travel thanks in large part to a transporter heading that way. After some choice words with the ground floor receptionist, Ay'indri had her directions. And upon arriving took a moment to smooth her uniform (First impressions were everything) to wrinkle-free perfection. After a knock on the door she entered. Her ears were a little flat while her tail slowly swished from side to side effecting indifference. They were an unknown after all.

"F'Bantau, Ay'indri Neha Phra'athit, reporting as directed." her tone was crisp, clear, with a salute for good masure. There was no need to go further into job titles. Undoubtedly they already knew she was Or'ion. No need to muddle things.

Rozālija Yoysa was inside one of the many shuttles landing inside the disembarkation area. The doors adjacent to her opened a few seconds before the shuttle landed, and for a few moments, she had to resist the urge to float through the door while the shuttle was still airborne. Fortunately, she didn't have to wait long, as the craft landed efficiently and without a hitch. The magenta-skinned Neko was among the first to disembark, and perhaps for good reason, as she was scheduled to meet with the captain of her assigned vessel very shortly. She couldn't afford to keep her waiting for a second, even if there happened to be a lot of foot traffic in her path. Of course, she could just fly over the traffic, but she didn't want to stand out any more than she already did. Instead, she settled for a brisk and graceful stride towards the entrance to the administrative building.

A quick glance at her communicator told her that she had a few minutes before she needed to be there. There was just enough time for her to enter a bathroom and do a once-over on her uniform and her hair. After following a few signs, she entered the bathroom and stood in front of the mirror, running her hands over the chest area of her uniform and examining the state of her curls. As expected, both were in pristine condition, but ultimately, her new captain would be the judge of that. With a confidently elegant stride, she stepped out of the bathroom and headed towards the stairs. Rozālija then took two glances; one aimed directly behind her and one towards the top of the stairs.

She was clear.

Her feet lifted off the ground, and she floated up the flights at a brisk, but relatively safe speed. She touched down just before she reached the seven floor, opting to take the last few steps on foot before reaching the meeting room. Rozālija knocked on the door with two gentle taps from her knuckles. When the captain acknowledged her, she stepped inside of the office and positioned herself at a respectful distance from the desk and the Daur next to her.

"C'Baruce, Rozālija Yoysa, reporting for designation on the SNV Furi'ken, Sere'ta'kon." The magenta-skinned woman spoke gracefully, finishing with an acknowledgement towards her captain's esteemed rank.

Micalio sat aboard another of the personnel shuttles destined for the disembarking area where she would join her first naval ship as a change to her old posting in the ground forces, watching through one of the windows she watched the ship and docking area loom ever closer as the shuttle made its final checks and touched down. Stepping out into the new environment the Daur looked around a little unsure of what she needed to do first, the reassignment hadn't stated any special actions she need perform when here and so the red haired girl made her way towards the ship looking around to try and make out any of her fellow crew.

Dressed in her uniform with rank and name displayed Micalio moved through the industrial-like port as she attempted to navigate her way to the ship ultimately getting a little lost and heading back to the disembarking area where more shuttles were arriving and going. Ears and tail twitching slightly in annoyance and confusion she pulled out the instructions she'd been given, there was no sign of any directions on how to get to the ship and steeling herself made another try at reaching the craft.

After a few minutes Micalio's dedication paid off and the ship began to take up more of her view as she drew closer to it, she noticed some others near it and felt the usual strange sensation she always did whenever the thought of interacting with a group of unknown people came to mind. It was at that moment she had a sudden realisation and her tail stood up straight, quickly retrieving the orders once more she skimmed through it until she found what she was looking for, the direction to go and meet the captain in the admin building first.

In her hurry and excitement she'd focused on the prospect of getting to see and work inside a starship the instructions had completely slipped past her mind, looking around frantically she spied the building in question and hurried towards it at full speed hoping she wouldn't be late. After passing by registration and moving up to the seventh floor Micalio paused to straighten her uniform and give her short hair a brief once over with a spare hand before entering the room. "C'Baruce, Micalio Di'Aldio reporting for duty aboard the SNV Furi'Ken, Sere'ta'kon. I apologise for my tardiness, it won't happen again." She spoke before bowing towards her captain trying to hide her embarrassment at rushing in late.

Def'leor stepped out of the shuttle that transported her to Ne'ushae. The yellow furred Daur looked around getting her bearing. The activity around her on the base was a familiar sensation. After all that she had been through since her return to Kingdom space, she was glad to be moving forward in her career. The state of unrest that had broken out while she was aboard the Gam'trosha had apparently grown worse. Thinking about her old ship made her wonder what had happened to Sa'kira. The Ship Master and some of the crew had to remain with the ship. The authorities promised that they would rescue them at the earliest opportunity. But given the distance and the vagaries of their location, Def'leor was dubious.

She looked at her communicator at the orders she had received. She looked at one nearest displays and located the proper building she needed to get to. Setting off at a brisk walk she crossed the open space and headed toward the admin building. A new ship and a new Ship Master both unknowns. Hopefully the launch of the SNV Furi'ken would be more successful that the Gam'trosha. She thought, it was not that the Gam'trosha was a bad ship, but she had been plagued by sabotage.

Once she entered the building she removed her goggles. She located the building lift and pressed the call button. Once a car arrived she stepped in and pressed the seventh floor. When the doors closed she did a quick uniform check using her reflection on the lift door. The new rank on her arm band was something she still had to get used to. as well as the red cape she now wore.

When the doors opened she stepped out into the hallway. It took her only a moment to determine which way she had to go. When she arrived at the door she pressed the stud and the door opened with a soft swish. She stepped into the room and looked for the Shipmaster, she crossed the room and found a place where she could see her new commander. She came to attention and rendered a salute, "N'Marida Vail'ant Def'leor reporting for duty as Lexicon for the SNV Furi'Ken, ma'am."

Chi'ka listened, her ears flat against her head as the door opened - closed - opened again. Four times.. she turned toward the four that had entered and looked them over, she was inspecting them - not just watching their eyes, but also looking at their uniforms and making sure they were crisp, clean, and up to code. "At ease," she said and waited a few moments before addressing them.

"Please ensure that it doesn't," she said in regards to Micalio's mention of being tardy - although from her point of view, the soldier was early. "Also, you don't but salute."

She turned her attention to the Neko, and walked in front of her and looked the soldier over. Crisp uniform, clean, no smell to it, good. "Welcome to the Furi'ken, C'Bar Rozālija, I will be your Shipmistress from this point forward. I expect great things from you, and I expect you to learn more about us and how we do things," as she spoke she looked at the other three in the room briefly. "I want you to learn from those here, from the crew, learn about who we are - why we do the things we do. You may be foreign to the Kingdom, but so far as I am concerned, you are part of this family - thus if you have questions, or are unsure of things, do not hesitate to ask your superior - or if need be, myself," she ended that with a nod and then walked toward the window and peered out.

As she was about to continue, there was a knock on the door. "Enter," she spoke with a mild sense of irritation in her tone. The door slid open, and a My'leke, a Daur, and two Laibe entered, all four of them saluted and apologized for being late.

The Ship-mistresses upper eye-lash twitched slightly. "Lateness is something I won't tolerate on my ship," she spoke in an authoritative tone. "I'll excuse it this time around, but make sure it never happens again," she stared at the newcomers, and then turned toward the rest of the crew that were there. "Our mission is the same as the rest of the fleet, with some caveats, such as going after the terrorists that constantly plague our people. Our enemy continues to grow stronger and more powerful, thus if you have idea's, suggestions, or concerns I will hear them. On the bridge, I don't want any of you to be scared to ask anything, as to me - there is no such thing as a stupid question. Some of you are new, so I expect questions to be asked."

"Our departure isn't for another few hours, thus if you have anything you need to do, do it," she looked them over for a moment, and then at the Neko. "Two thing's, C'bar Rozālija, I must ask that you refrain from using your flight capability inside of our buildings or in the ship's hallways. The ceiling are low after all, and I'd rather you not go banging your head on things," she smiled briefly. "Second of you, your assigned starfighter is on the flight deck on the orbital ring, Military Segment Alpha, Deck 439, Section AC6, Hanger Bay 23, Pad A98. I would like you to head there, retrieve your fighter, and bring it here."

"All of you, except for N'Marida Vail'ant and F'Bantau Ay'indri, are dismissed."

Ay'indri happened to cast a glance at the two that arrived just after her. One was wholly unfamiliar, the other she recalled from her time upon the Gam'trosha. As her gaze settled back upon their commanding officer, her ears pricked up, alert as yet more people arrived. These she gave a brief look to over her shoulder and that was that. No one had warranted any more attention. Perhaps later she would look over their personnel files. After all, she had just committed their faces to memory. Anyway to pass the tedium.

Being dismissed, the Or'ion Agent watched as those that had just been summoned had just as quickly been dismissed. All for herself and her compatriot from her days upon the Gam'trosha. Still on alert, Ay'indri would continue to swivel her ears too and fro until they left.

Micalio froze momentarily as she realised her mistake, in her flustered panic to be on time she'd walked in and copied the first person she saw and bowed! After their shipmistress had finished her briefing the red furred Daur gave a salute and promptly left the room with the others who were not asked to remain behind, shaking her head and lightly slapping her face to get her head on straight Micalio stood in the hall and considered the situation. They'd been told it would be a couple of hours until the ship was due to leave and to do anything they needed to in that time, she had already begun making her way out of the building on autopilot as she tried to figure out if there was anything she needed to tak care of.

After a quick trip to the nearest mess hall to grab a few snacks Micalio made her way back to the ship once again, with nothing else to do she simply decided to spend her time inspecting the ship from the inside as she munched away on her snacks thoughtfully. As expected from such a well presented shipmistress it was immaculate and with no visible damage either, she pondered what the state of the enginroom would be in but if the rest of the ship was anything to go off she was sure it would be fine. After finishing her food and brief examination of the ships interior the little fox made her way to the cabins to check if all her stuff had been loaded yet and catch a few extra winks before they set out, they did have hours left after all.

Chi'ka's Office

It took a few, but once everyone was gone, minus those she had stay behind, Chi'ka relaxed a bit and walked around her desk and sat in her seat. "Please, sit and relax," she offered to the Lexicon and Agent, there were two couch's in the office, both of which looked to be rather comfortable, if not expensive. "I asked the two of you two stay so that we can discuss our 'real' mission," she clasped her hands in front of her and rested her chin on them. "However, before we continue this, I would like to know how much you two know," she kept her eyes on them. It was around this moment that the lights in the room dimmed, and the doors auto-lock engaged, holographic text over the doors said the following in bold, red letters: "Security Level 5 Engaged, Noise Cancellation System Engaged, All Room Surveillance Systems are disabled."

Choosing a seat for herself, Ay'indri sat down, tail curled around to rest in her lap. In truth she had been told little of just what was going on with this aforementioned mission. It was a puzzle, a mystery. But, not one that was unsolvable. Just her being there now meant it was of interest to Or'ion. And when Or'ion sent one of its own, an Agent like her it was to root out and eliminate a problem to the Kingdom. Hands clasped atop her fluffy tail, the Agent flicked an ear back and forth idly.

"My briefing was sparse," taking the initiative, she went the more cautious route to begin, "However for one of my kind to be called upon, the Kingdom clearly has someone, or rather possibly a number of someones needing to be dealt with." it was a simple answer somewhat shooting in the dark but, relatively vague while also fishing for information. In truth her briefing had been far more vague. Land at Point A, get to Point B, meet with this person. No questions asked, all would be revealed in time.

Chi'ka's Office

Chi'ka listened and nodded mentally. Good, sound's like at least on the lower level no one leaked the details she leaned back in her chair and thought for a few moments before her eyes moved toward a darkened area of the room, and then back at the two officers. "On the surface our mission is plain and simple, exploration of distant systems, patrol our territory for pirate and terrorist activity, find planets that can be settled. However, considering our territory is pretty large right now, the Monarch has chosen to pull back on exploring distant star systems and focus more on those within our borders."

"However, as I said, on the surface that is our mission. Our real mission is of more importance. As I'm sure the two of you have noticed, the Netrunu'marol have gained considerable ground in their insurgency against the Kingdom; especially when it comes to the Navy, the King is worried that there is a mole somewhere in the higher ranks, possibly within Or'ion or in HighCom or NavCom. Sadly we lack any definitive proof for any of those, so we gotta go and find that proof, investigate every terrorist base we run across. Interrogate any terrorists we capture. We've been given full authority to use any means necessary, short of harming the citizenry of course," her eyes closed partly as she said this. "No matter how much we go after them, we have to protect our citizens and ensure that none of our actions bring any harm to them, otherwise we may end up empowering the enemy rather than weakening them."

"Due to the sensitive nature of our mission, and the potential for there to be a spy even on our ship," she hated this possibility, but it was one she had no choice but to consider. "What I just told you must not leave this room, if you wish to discuss this privately make sure to use a private comm channel, or when in person, in the privacy of your quarters. You may use your own discretion when on missions but do it with caution, again, we don't know whether we have a spy in our own ranks or not which," she turned toward the agent. "is your mission to find out."

She relaxed again in her chair, this was what she considered to be the hard part - as much as she wanted to bring others onboard, she had her own orders to follow, specifically by the King in that only her XO and the senior ranking agent on board could be informed. "Any questions?" she asked, leaning forward and staring at the two officers.

NSV Furi'ken
~Reverse Point - Rahxephon OST~

The interior of the newly fabricated starship was slowly filling up with basic personnel as the hours went by, but the general theme in the air wasn't of a gung-ho departure to the stars... No, rather, the sombrely pulsing power crystals and groaning rubberised deck panels were punctuated by the clicking of marching heels, the constant patrol of security officers. The launch of this giant ornament was not just the kingdom's newest show of scientific endeavour, but also the perfect target for terrorist sabotage.

C'Baruce Olffa Muohe Klo'den knew little of such city-folk matters. But they saw the tension. They saw which side had honour.

Three hours in, and they already managed to find somebody sleeping on the job. A little tall, white skin and hair, orange tail... In the correct cabin section, but still, at a time like this?...

"Ship security. Can I see your PID crystal please?" The shorter fox asked, pointing a flashlight into the dimly lit room. A rough little voice demanded to be taken seriously; And the weird little foite-pawed soldier certainly had enough sheathed weapons to back it up. "The duty rosters haven't been assigned! So this technically isn't assigned sleeping time, you know!"

Roused from her light sleep by the voice Micalio sat bolt upright and looked around frantically as she was slightly blinded by the light, "Oh uh, right right let me just get it..." she said fumbling for the crystal which she then presented to the security officer. "Sorry I was just dismissed and told to do anything I needed to before we left, and since I didn't really have anything else to take care of I sort of drifted off checking through my stuff." The fox gestured to the small pile of stuff that was halfway though some sorting process by its looks.

"My apologies, is there anything I can assist you with seeing as though engineering is still off limits for the time being?" She asked albeit sheepishly standing before the slightly shorter security officer, a friendly look on her face as she tried to correct her mistakes that seemed to be piling up...

Chi'ka's Office

Def'leor listened to the commander. She thought about the events that took place before her last ship got stranded. In some ways the situation was the same, except that now, the opposition was a bit more visible. "I have been catching up on the events that took place after the Gam'trosha was lost. I presume then we should also be alert for possible acts of sabotage as well. That seemed a significant problem when I was aboard the Gam'trosha. Will we have the ability to actively monitor critical sections of the ship, and who goes into them?"

NSV Furi'Ken

Olffa turned off the flashlight and stood rigidly cross-pawed whilst waiting for the engineer to find their crystal. Patient, but rather causing an awkward silence as they refused to answer back for some reason. When the ID was presented, though, that was weirdly in the other direction, with them using the crescent-shaped handheld authenticator like they were playing the triangle in an orchestra. Hardly a show of professionalism.

"..."

"I apologise for the disturbance, C'Baruce Micalio Di’Aldio." An awkward, out of place smile, oversized fangs and a raising nose. They had kind of dark eyes, that made it look a little too serious and spooky anyway. "The kingdom is crawling with people who would destroy this great work... Saboteurs... We all must be vigilant!"

"Yes. I am C'Baruce Klo'den." A half-bow, half-salute, handing the crystal back awkwardly. "Unfortunately I am not qualified to access the engineering section right now either. It's a request-only major lockdown..."

Another pause, slowly regaining a dour expression. Both hands ended up on their hilts again.

"...Wait, how come you were asleep alone?" The rotund four foot thing narrowed their eyes, as if that was really suspicious. "Who sleeps alone? What if you had a nightmare!?"

Chi'ka's Office

No pressure.
Thought the Agent as the duty to find terrorists suddenly was like a weight on her shoulders. But then again, that was what she was trained for. Seek and destroy threats to the Kingdom. "I have dealt with the Netrunu'marol before." her voice even, dealing with them again, in possibly her own organization as well as other branches of the military would be a daunting task to track them down with the possibility of a spy aboard their ship, the Furi'ken as well. This was why she was trained. Ay'indri betrayed nothing as she sat there thinking. The Daur just sat there in silence, mulling over what was just divulged.

"I will need to speak to Section Twelve in regard to my security status. If there are elements within Navcom, or Or'ion I will need the appropriate credentials to go about my task."

NSV Furi'Ken

Micalio looked at her quizzically, she hadn't heard of needing to sleep with anyone in case of nightmares before but it seemed like a big deal to the other fox, "Oh I hadn't err thought of that, I guess I just got tired and well, fell asleep." Micalio said scratching the back of her head and grinning at the shorter girl. "Do you always sleep with others then? That seems like it might be awkward, but I guess it would be comforting." She asked before weighing up the options out loud and putting a hand on her chin thoughtfully.

"OH and seeing as though there is still time before we leave, mind if I tag along with you for a bit? I could use the company myself with nothing else to do..."

Chi'ka's Office

Def'leor waited for a response from Chi'ka about the ability to monitor critical sections. She took the lack of a response as a negative reply. She made a mental note to get with the technicians to see about installing the necessary equipment and route the data to command level personnel only.

"So we will be dancing on the swords edge. Having to balance the level of force we use to deal with the Metrunu, but protecting the citizenry, or at least not appear to be excessive in our measures. This will definitely challenging. After all, we can be cautious with what we do. But our enemies can easily put a negative spin on our actions to gain public sympathy."

Chi'ka Office

Chi'ka had been thinking so much that she had, unintentionally, ignored Def's question up until the Lexicon spoke up; she made a mental note to herself to ensure that doesn't happen again. "Correct," she said and taped on the desktop keyboard, a holographic deck layout of the ship appeared. "Standard protocal has been changed, it used to be that only the armory, bridge, and captains quarters were considered 'critical sections', but due to the rise in terrorist activity and demand by our citizenry for more... sensible precautions on Navy ships, that protocal now expands to any area of the ship that the command crew considers critical. Which, so far as I am concerned, would be the entire ship - but I will defer to your judgement on that Lexicon," she smiled and leaned back in her chair for a moment.

She recalled the question the Agent had asked and rubbed the bridge of her nose. "Given the nature of our mission, your request for an increase in security status should be granted. However," she leaned back forward. "Given the possibility of traitors, there is also a chance it'll be denied. If that happens, let me know, please."

"Any other questions?" she asked, as she waited her eyes glanced at the holodisplay, it split in two, one showing the ship and another one showing the air traffic around the base. There were a large number of orange dots - indicating civilian ships that were taking a round about path around the base, while green dots showed military ships, and there were only a few of these in the vicinity of the base. Her eyes caught notice of a military ship doing something irregular, a green dot that was moving in and around civilian and city structures are very low altitudes, so low in fact that every few seconds the dot would vanish for a moment before returning; she leaned on her desk and watched it.

Chi'ka Office

The tip of Ay'indri's tail twitched in idle curiosity. The woman was right. Should she request for additional clearances and the privileges that came with them, chances were that they could very well be denied if handled by someone not wholly in line with the Kingdom. Her thoughts dwelled upon this for a short while until the Agent saw the woman's change in attention. Getting smoothly to her feet and with not a whit of caring, Ay'indri moved to Chi'ka's side. Watching with her new commanding officer, she narrowed her eyes as the green blip returned and faded on the display.

Flying so low, as the indicator faded in and out could only mean they were actively trying to travel below the sensor detection range. Pulling her communicator from her pocket, she flipped it open with a flick of the wrist. In an even tone, the Agent brought up her own display; connecting it to the base's control net with a few presses of buttons. She was checking if the traffic control towers were registering this irregularity as well. And to see if they were trying to do anything about it.
