OOC [OOC] Sakura Discussion

Hardly, if anything continuality will allow Yarvex to remain and as the discription is very vauge the discussion of YMA cloth dosen't nessisarily apply to it.

I propose that players, if they can manage it, just opt for the Ke-M3-F2709 armor setup, instead of the main one that is found in the Kylie's armor description.

The CFS should take care of the scalar problem anyway, right? However, if it fails, the Andrium doesn't cover a pilot's ass well in that regard. The Zesuaium coating is what's needed, neh? On the Sakura, just have the offending armor plates replaced with the armor plates of the Mindy-like system.

That should be an option, right? It gives it as a system option on the Kylie's page.

The problem about the CFS solving the Kylie's scalar protection problem was that since it was ommited from the description, players involved in piloting the Kylie had long assumed it meant the M3 was second-rate (something encouraged by the module incompatibility that later crept up with the additional module attachments). Lack of contradiction from Wes only served to confirm this.

That said, just saying the Kylie suddenly has scalar protection when lots of players assumed it did not for so long simply does not work even if it should in theory because of continuity issues. It's certainly going to mess with my head in any case since it was crystal-clear to me that the M3 lacked it for over the last 6 months.

The easiest fix would be to implement a new variant for the Kylie to correct that problem and maybe a few others at the same time. There are several Kylie pilots in the SARP after all and it would probably make them happy to get that sort of upgrade on their suit of choice.

The Ke-M2-P2701 also protects the Mindy from scalar attacks.

The Kylie has used the same CFS systems as the Mindy since <s>its creation</s> it was put into service with the Star Army of Yamatai, and therefore has the same scalar protection.

I've moved the line about scalar protection to the CFS's system description and added it to the Kylie's page to clarify.

For continuity's sake, Wes, the Kylie hasn't used a CFS since its inception. If it had, why is there a 1B (and assumingly a 1A) variant that doesn't list it?

But now we're clear, so it's all good.

The 1B was an early version equipped with the Mindy's old CDD system that was sold to Feisar Arms in limited quantities. The 1C is the Star Army variant. No Star Army ship has a 1B on it. I corrected my statement above.

Besides, this isn't a technology discussion thread. I remain slightly peeved that Wes has not been more obvious about this OoCly since Tomoe has been waving that issue in front of him for a long time. I could have had argued that the systems might not have been completely compatible, but I don't want to get in that kind of debate here for the moment.

Wes, you return June 20, correct? The current storyarc seems nowhere near over. What do you intend to do with Hanako once you get back?

Well, she'd show up on the Sakura. At some point, Kotori would move over to the the new ship...speaking of which, how about the "Arrowhead" class? Arrowhead is the general shape of the ship, a type of flower found in Japan, the name of a British WW2 Flower-class vessel, and a home for science fiction writers. The Japanese word for Arrowhead is Yanone.

No, I started with the aether rifle as a base and it turned out small because of that. To make it even with the other guns (at least in my mind), it would have to be about 35% larger than its current size in the gun shop (check out the Irim's armory for a better comparison, vs the Type 28 SMG). Unfortunately, because it was made small, making it larger makes it look blurry and crappy, so I'll stick with the original (slightly too small) size.

Luckily, the Star Army is full of skinny little girls with small hands. ^_^

I didn't see any WIES misspellings.

Above WIES is MEGAMI, and KAMI. Under WIES is EIES (Escort Integrated Electronics System; for cruisers, destroyers, and escort carriers) and CIES (Compact Integrated Electronics System; for frigates, corvettes, and gunboats). Such smaller ships are usually under the control of the WEIS, the EIES (or a higher-level system) can take over if necessary (if the WEIS ship is destroyed or unavailable).

Communications said:
Communications: Any WEIS ship is equipped with a multi-channel wide-band array that gives both security and versatility. Among the types of communication supported are radio, laser, subspace, and hyperspace. Communications can be secured using Quantum Encryption technology, which (due to the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle) allows the system to detect any monitoring attempts and counter them.

Ahhhh. Oh well ... it is a cute little subcompact. Might have to get Yukari one when she gets the chance.

Don't forget to check the new rifle. Da yo. Thanks!

P.S. -- The Sakura is a light gunship now? Should that be officially stated somewhere?

Looks like you were on to something!

The Tragedy of Missed JPs.

O Tiffy, Tiffy! Wherefore art thou Tiffy?
Deny thy distractions, and refuse thy work;
Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn by JP,
And I'll no longer be a background-character.

sorry for coming late ^_^; I just got in (11:30 ish) cause I was at a friend of the family's house. His father passed on today, so we were over there spending time with him.

Well we tried to get a JP going... but it fell apart before it started.

So I'm going to go sit alone in my room listen to "Death of a Party", and read my sister's comics. 😢

You guys have to plan a Lor JP ASAP. Our schedule is a bit conflicted, sure, but this should give you the time to flesh out the events going on around Lor.

Next Sakura JP is very likely to end up dealing with that situation, so, this has to be completed. It's not because you have time on our hands that you should not use it.

As of now I am free most of the week excepting tonight (thursday; 6/29; afterr ~7 PM PST) and Sunday evening (again after ~7 PM PST).

Thank you Vesper for posting your schedule, looking forward to having you back after university swept you away from us (alas RL > RP).

On that note how about everyone post up there schedules(including Sakura only players) for next week, so I can get an idea of all the openings we may have.
