RP: Section 6 Operation: Ice Breaker: Kinda Broken

Alex found himself phased out, trapped in that pocket that the NMX phase-ships used to hide from attacks.

Here there was nothing.

No stars.

No planets.

Even the few particles one would expect to find floating between planets were empty, the background radiation entirely absent.

There was only Alex, The Gigamishhu, and a single point of light off in the distance.

Like a moth to a flame... or perhaps just like a kid rushing to see something new, Alex decided to take Mikki-chan and his U1 towards the light. His FTL drives rushing him away from the mortally wounded Gigamishhu.

As They exited FTL. They'd find the NMX had been busy.

There were two more Gigamishhu here, suspended in the dark next to a series of asteroids made up of various precious metals, chunks of gold, durandium, silver, even diamond and carbon. Lined up nearby were thousands more Mega-mishhu, all of which appeared to be asleep, floating motionless in the void. The entire area illuminated by what looked like Aether-Shock-Cannon drones just continuously firing off into the dark so that there would be some kind of visibility.

Still, another Gigamishhu would appear... the last of the four that had been produced during the war. Its top opening up and releasing its payload, a mixture of organic material, raw ores, and warm radioactive metals, smaller drones helping escort it out and sort it into the rows upon rows of sorted asteroid-like material.

None of these things were going to help him get back into normal space, where he could attack Psychopomp. Alex realized that, and flew back towards the wrecked Gigamishuu and began to scavenge around for whatever component it was that allowed it to bring him here.

"Mikali, scan for components that could have transported us to wherever we are. I want to get back to normal space, where I can continue to attack Psychopomp."

Gigamishhu

The Gigamishhu's growing field of debris was ahead of them. Shards of metal, globs of a weird pink goo... and a handful of smaller mishhu currently working on piecing their mother back together. The rear of the ship had been torn off entirely, leaving the massive upper-cargo area entirely exposed as well as a few of the engineering bays towards the rear of the ship. The damage seemed to have paralyzed the large tendrils of the craft, at least for the time being.

As he approached the ship, his U-1 would start taking small-arms fire from more regular sized mishhu, though their smaller guns couldn't penetrate his shields.

He would only need to worry about Mishhu with larger weaponry...

Mikali would also get to look at some of the Mishhu's interior components. Floating around deep inside a half-torn-open room was one of the Mishhu phase-organs, the same kind that Alex was already familiar with.

"One sec..." Mikki-chan hummed a tone softly as she scanned through the debris, before highlighting the phase-organ on Alex's HUD. "I think this is what you're looking for!"

Alex used the pulse lasers to sythe across the Mishuu which were firing while he maneuvered over to the phase organ and picked it up.

It would take some doing to wedge himself into the engineering area, the fingers of his U1 just getting a grip around the phase-organ when a bright beam pierced through the hull of the Giga-mishhu, splashing against Alex's shields...

... on the other end of the newly-formed hole was a single neko clad in NMX body armor. Sword and pistol in hand. Floating right beside her was a rectangular case, still glowing from the powerful shot... connected to it was what looked like a large spider-like creature, the big blob floating behind her, with small hands reaching forward and around her body to hold screens, armor, and additional weapons.

The pulse laser flashed, firing into the rectangular case instantaneously. Alex was busy getting himself out to address this new threat.

The shields would turn opaque instantly, blocking the attack. The enemy spider seemed to be nearly the same size as Alex's U1, and was already manuvering for another attack, looking to fire right into that engineering space to kill both Alex and the phase-organ.

As Alex exited the U-1, the mecha swiftly moved aimed and fired its gunpod in a burst aimed not at the Neko, but at the spider and the weapon. Normally this would be a difficult shot, but with the assistance of an AI and his link to the machine it was fairly simple.

Alex had gotten out and had shouldered the (https://wiki.stararmy.com/doku.php?id=corp:origin:showstopper_heavy_assault_rifle ) assualt rifle he kept stowed in the cockpit and held his https://wiki.stararmy.com/doku.php?id=corp:origin:odm_10mm_raygun pistol in both hands.

The spider-thing would raise one of its arms to block, moving one of the thick armored panels that had been near the Neko herself upwards to block the shots coming at its body. The U-1's own main cannon was easily just as strong as the beam-weapon used by the Neko, and quickly chewed through the craft's shields, the rounds biting into the shield as she fired back from point blank range.

Alex's shields were slightly stronger, but this second shot burned through them and began to melt through the U-1's armor, tearing off one of the legs. Speaking of legs... Alex raised one of the subarms, and fired the anti ship cannon at the spider. It shouldn't hurt the Neko if he was as accurate as he was. Meanwhile, Alex used the maneuvering system on his pilot suit and activated the pack power armor, moving around to flank the woman.

The spider would push inward, the shot from the U-1 peircing through the spider's upper body as the Neko closed in, unworried about the smaller Elx for the time being as her next shot sliced into the U-1, putting a large hole right through it and nearly tearing off a wing entirely, no doubt sending Mikki-chan into worry for the state of the machine! The U-1 wouldn't be flying out under its own power anytime soon.

Alex used the U-1's remaining arm to attach the phase organ to the torso of the U-1 and pushed off the hull of the Megamishuu with its leg, jetting back to the cockpit himself and firing all his remainng missiles at the target.

"Mikali, phase us out of here!"

"Oh, goodness!" Mikali exclaimed when the giant, enemy spider attacked, watching with wide eyes as Alex leapt out from his craft. "Careful, Senpai!" The blast from the neko-spider tore through the U-1, and Mikki let out a wail of alarm. "Uwaaaah!" she cried, closing the cockpit as Alex returned to it. "How do I use this thing?!" Mikali desperately tried to interface with the phase-organ, trying to get it to do its thing as fast as she could.

As Mikali tried to interface with the phase-organ, she'd eventually find a folder with a fully functioning control API for the device.

This apparently wasn't the first time a phase-organ had been installed in this U-1

... but that might be a story for another time.
