The Relay deflector system is a special system designed to enhance 'bubble' and 'field' type systems on a starship, generally enhancing their volume and modularity, and allowing one to put smaller systems on a ship than were previously necessary, which saves usable space and power for other important things.

Could you clarify the effects this would have on the DR system in the shield section?

As in the Increase in DR?

If you mean the self-modulation thing, that doesn't actually affect DR, it affects things like phasing weapons, and tunneling weapons. Basically all the nasty stuff that ignores standard shield types.

Tunneling Weaponry really doesn't work with the new system so it was more or less canned. From an IC prospective it may still play a roll on a GM, by GM basis, however I would think.

The fact that DR is not increase, and the specific increases to fold bubble size, etc should be noted on the article.
