Hoshiko let out a deeply seated sigh as she looked around the school. She had arrived earlier in the day and frankly, she wasn't impressed just yet. Terrible security, the facilities were ok she supposed and her housing was small, cramped even a few miles from the school. It was going to be a pain in her ass to be so far from Lilium, but she dare not bring her precious companion to some place where these filthy annoying children could get to her.

She ran a hand through her blonde hair and pushed it back over her head as her blue eyes scanned the area around her. She needed to find her room soon to get her things settled in and even run by the teacher's lounge to make sure everything was in place before her classes started, but somehow she had gotten turned around and wound up outside.

How embarrassing for the SAINT agent as she eyed the school coldly. She could already feel this assignment was going to be an annoyance, but she had to prove to her mother she could do as commanded and follow through her mission. If she was there to evaluate and recommend potential recruits for SAINT, that's what she would do. She eventually found a bench to sit on as she smoothed out her outfit.

Dressed in a smart pencil skirt and dress shirt with matching tights, the colors were all her favorite, black. She always thought she looked good in her SAINT uniform after all.

Keiko had already been informed a new teacher would be joining the staff this year and offered to meet her and give her the tour. Since the SAINT had arrived earlier than expected. The red neko was a little concerned when she couldn't find their new teacher, after a bit of asking around and surveillance she finally found her on the outside of the school near the East entrance instead of west.

"Good morning Miss Hoshiko, how was your trip?"

"As well as could be I suppose. I take it you are my guide?" She asked the girl as she stood. Her gaze was somewhat neutral as she took in Keiko.

"The school is fairly big. Impressive really."

"Yes it is quite large, however it is divided up by cardinal points, in case you hadn't been informed yet. Currently we're in the East area but you've been assigned to the West, I'm going to be one of your students." Keiko explained as she gestured for the teacher to follow her, "Where is your luggage right now? I didn't see it by the west entrance."

"Back at my temporary residence. I arrived a few days ago to take a look around the city before classes began." Hoshiko followed behind easily enough as her blue eyes seemed to never stop their movement. She still looked over everything she could as they walked, though her skin vision kept an eye on Keiko as well. She trusted nothing or anyone except for her mother.

"We can have someone sent to fetch it then." Keiko said dismissively as she continued leading the teacher between buildings until the reached the admin building for the West sector. "We should get you signed in and get your pass sorted out to avoid future issues."

Hoshiko nodded at the suggestion of sending for her things but otherwise remained silent for a few moments. "How does class scheduling work? Is it based on enrollment or is there a specific curriculum?" She asked when she finally spoke next.

"Well to my knowledge we have several specialist teachers such as yourself for specific class types as well as some more general teachers. Most students get taught basic combat and everyone has a specific art they are taught as well depending what affinity they have." Keiko explained, "So what are you hear to teach if you don't mind me asking."

Hoshiko listened and wondered just who would wind up showing up to her class. At times the idea of stealth operations didn't seem very interesting. It was usually just recon or intel gathering while everyone thought it usually involved some sort of super-secret hit jobs.

"I'm here to teach covert operations." She left it fairly vague as she wasn't sure just how in-depth she could go in her teaching.

"Ah I had heard we were getting someone new this year, I look forward to your class Miss." The neko said without stopping, moving to hold the door for her to enter. "Just head to the desk and use your name and teacher ID to sign in, then it will give you a teacher pass to access the buildings."

Hoshiko nodded her thanks to the girl and walked inside quickly enough. A few minutes and she had her pass and registration completed before she looked it over. It felt weird to have it, she was used to genetic identification with SAINT after all. After a moment she turned back to Keiko.

"So, tour and information. Any students I should know about? Any issues I should watch for?" She asked as she watched Keiko with a blank stare.

"Well I am Keiko Surino, the Divine Queen of the West sector and the only second year student in its dorms right now. Other than that I only have to warn you that some students may not take your class seriously given you're newer than they are." Keiko explained simply before her brow furrowed a little in thought,

"Also, just a more personal request, but could you act like I am a new student as well and not mention my position? I, had a lot of trouble making friends last year as I study and work a lot and I'd like to try and be equal with the students to make friends easier."

"Divine...Queen? What in the name of Chiharu is that?" Hoshiko let the old supplication slip which gave a hint to just how old the Neko was as she looked to the girl.

"I don't care if you're the principal's daughter or some scrub off the street, or the child of Yui and Hanako, the only thing that matters in my class is results." She explained as her tone took a harsher turn. It seemed the woman had little care for titles.

"Titles, recognition, all that gets is a target on your back. Not useful for an operative." She explained.

"I'm sorry Miss, I was only trying to explain what you asked for, I earnt the title through my martial art ability although I don't often bring it up. Also forgive me for saying this but, this isn't a SAINT academy it's a highschool, most of the people here haven't even had a real fight before" Keiko explained easily to the teacher, seemingly undaunted by the tone although not in a cocky way.

"It was easier when we were just thrown into basic for a year and taught what we needed," Hoshiko muttered under her breath and looked aside, but she supposed she could understand the idea of a school to teach younglings. She had spent time with her mother after all.

"The martial arts here seem extensive. What type is your specialty?"

"Personally I train in Mugen Yoshu Senko, several other students I've heard of who have arrived already train in various others and I believe one of them is proficient in firearms as well." She answered diligently, "And, why do you seem agitated? Did I do something to upset you?"

"Just a difference of times I suppose. I was born into war, was sent to basic within months and then SAINT snatched me up. It's just different." Hoshiko admitted as she turned to look at Keiko again. Her expression was fairly cold.

"We never had this, we had Fort Ready and Black Sands. We didn't get this relaxed life." Hoshiko was a veteran of the Mishhu wars after all.

"I think I can understand that to a degree, although I feel like someone may have given you an inaccurate description of the purpose of Zenjinkaze. This isn't an alternate version of Black Sands or other training facility."

"It's a chance to make Nekos feel normal." Hoshiko said aloud. "But normal for us is battle, it's fighting to defend our empire from growing threats."

Keiko dropped her gaze and slumped ever so slightly. "You don't want to be here do you miss..."

Hoshiko looked to the girl for a moment as she took in her somewhat disappointed posture before she looked back to the school.

"This is an assignment forced by my mother. She fears for me, but no. I don't want to be. I was made and trained to be an operative in whatever fashion that means. I enjoy being out there, defending our empire, defending our people and doing the things most people won't or can't stomach. I'm an assassin girl, not a teacher."

Hoshiko sighed and closed her eyes for a moment and looked back to Keiko.

"But we need able-bodied people. We need Nekos willing to get dirty, willing to do what others cant. I look forward to seeing those that prove to me this school isn't a waste. You think you are one of them?" She asked as she eyed Keiko critically.

"I don't know miss, it's never been a dream of mine to do that kind of thing to be honest." She said, still looking down, unable to meet the gaze of her soon to be teacher. "But I do hope you manage to enjoy your time here at least."

Hoshiko just noted the girl's posture and inability to look at her but nodded regardless. "Where is my classroom? Or is there rotating classes? And the teacher's lounge?" She asked as she decided to move on from the subject.

"The teacher's lounge is just beside this building, the admin block houses both the actual admin building as well as the teacher's offices and lounge. And your class is located here." Keiko produced a map and pointed out the location of the room in question. "Anything else you need Miss?"

"Are you going to be in my class?" Hoshiko asked aloud as she looked over Keiko. She wondered if she might be worthwhile.

"I did sign up for yours yes."

"Very good. I am interested in how one of these...Queens does in my class. It should prove to be interesting." Hoshiko admitted as she pondered for a moment. "Anything else about the school I should know about?"

"Hmm, well nothing really stands out as critical information to me although we have two very different roles here. As a further warning I believe you may want to keep your mind open while here, the kind of schedule and discipline will be very different to what you're used to although you may enforce your class as you see fit." Keiko continued.

Hoshiko tilted her head a bit to the odd remark. "Explain." Was all she said.

Keiko wasn't quite sure which part Miss H was referring to but guessed it might be about the rule enforcement she'd mentioned. "Well while we do have rules here they are quite relaxed and the regular atmosphere of the classroom, along with teacher and student relationships within them is also quite relaxed. Friendly would be a better word."

"And the schedules?" Hoshiko asked as she began to bite her thumb a bit and looked aside. Already she began to think of ways to challenge the students further if she truly did have freedom over her curriculum. She might even be able to turn this into a black sands testing grounds...

"Well it may have changed somewhat since last year, but generally each student has a timetable assigned to them and will attend classes for most of the day while also having time set aside for study or practice in the gym or outside." The neko replied, wondering what Miss H was planning to do with all the information, it didn't surprise her she was asking for so much given her occupation.

"I see. And classes, not set to a particular curriculum are free to use the facilities as they see fit so long as classes do not interfere?" Hoshiko asked again as she seemed lost in thought now

"I am not sure enough to give you a solid answer, I'm sorry Miss H but that would be better discussed with the head of the school, personally I don't see anything wrong with that assumption but I would not want to give you any false information." The red neko said, she really didn't want to give this lady wrong info for several reasons, most of which would be shared by any other sane person who didn't want to get ripped apart.

"I'll have to make it a point to stop in and talk with them." Hoshiko smirked a bit as she turned her gaze back to Keiko, and for the first time her look wasn't that of a collected teacher, but one of a person with plans to play with her toys...

Keiko couldn't help but feel a little intimidated by such a look, what exactly did this woman plan to do with them with a look like that. "Was there anything else Miss? Otherwise I can show you to your room."

"If there is nothing else you think I should know, then my room would be nice." Hoshiko said as she slipped back into her collected and calm teacher's expression there was still a glint of enjoyment to her eye, but not as obvious as before.

"Right this way then." Keiko said before taking off in the direction of the teachers dorms which, were near enough to students for rapid response in an emergency but far enough away they wouldn't be disturbed. Finding her way to the correct door with little trouble the red neko stood to the side. "Here is your room, your things should have already been brought otherwise we can arrange for it later."

Hoshiko would go to open her door and as she stepped inside, saw her few bags in the hallway, along with a fairly nice looking rosewood box that had been set out in the middle of the floor on a cloth. Keiko, if she looked, could see a single word carved into the lid in intricate calligraphy. It simply read Lilium.

She turned to look back to Keiko. "I will see you in class. I pray you do not disappoint Queen."

Keiko ade a slight bow, "I shall do as you request." The fact that this brand new teacher had already singled her out over that was a little scary and she hoped they didn't expect her to do the impossible. Not to mention Keiko had been working hard to avoid revealing herself to the other students for the most part although it seemed like that was all about to be in vain.

This teacher certainly was interesting, she thought to herself as she headed back to her own dorms.

As Hoshiko closed the door after she watched Keiko's retreating form, she already pulled out her datapad and began to pull up the girl's profile from the school. She looked over her grades and accomplishments as she began to unpack. It was quick work, Hoshiko didn't really have much in the way of personal effects.

She took care with one bag and the box though. The bag was opened first and soon enough across the top of the small desk in her room were several knives spread. It was easy to see which were ceremonial and which were for actual use. Eventually though Hoshiko would undress and find herself sitting in her bed with the box in front of her. She took care to open it slowly and from within, pull a small doll out. Straightening out its dress, Hoshiko would smile.

"I've already found an interesting one Lilium..."
