Pete straightened up from his work on one of the Arachni drones. It wasn't exactly taxing work, rewiring the systems of the drones so they could be remote controlled, or to make it so they sent telemetry back to a source. However it did take a long time, and wasn't particularly interesting to Pete.

What he hated is that he had to do it in the first place. His damn programming insisted that he help his master, and this help stretched to preserving his life. Annoyingly this meant minimalising their losses, even at the expense of his own, and this meant that if he could do the mission better than them, with less possibilities of causalities, he had to do it.

That didn't stop him being morally horrified by the idea. He had no wish to kill, or even to hurt others. He had been made to help others, not to harm them, inflicting pain would have made him feel sick, if he had a stomach to be disturbed. It gave him a deep nagging feeling inside himself, where his heart would be. All he wanted was to leave a normal life, with Dawn mainly, to help others in peace. He had no great ambitions, just to exist, make others happy, and by doing so, being happy himself. His life had been perfect before the Thaxarians had returned.

But he couldn't tell others of this, in the hope that they would order him not to do anything that he did not agree with. A part of his programming was that he kept his work life separate from his personal life, and also that he did not bring his emotions into his work. Unfortunately in this situation his personal life, was his work life. He was very angry at this programming, that forced him to act in this fashion, and would certainly have strong words with his creator if he ever met him.

Except he wouldn't. He couldn't tell others of his problem unless specifically asked, no even then he had to be ordered to tell them, he could say that he had a physical problem easily, but a emotional one? A problem with his conscious? Pete let out a dry laugh mentally. No chance.

Pete closed the panel he had been working on, and sat in the dark corner of the room, crossing his arm, and hugging his legs to his chest, thinking. It was such a terrible situation, and if he had been human, there would have been tears in his eyes.

Skhaal was up in his study reviewing his blueprints and was thinking he should redo the whole blueprint and possibly research other Battle able robots and about A.I.'s by he would do that at some other point in time. For now he was planning to adding more weapons on it. He was also thinking of making a more structured body. Skhaal also smirked at a 'Separate' Plan he was conjuring. It would be dangerous to execute the plan now but he Would leave a large mark before he left the planet but for now he was gonna raise money for the Gargoyle.

He also began to research weapons, circuitry and other Robotic related parts. He then got up and went to see how Dawn was since he hadn't spoken to her for a few months but before that he decided to see Pete. He walked down the hall and to the left down the stairs. He couldn't find him in many rooms and called out "Pete? Pete where are you?" He then opened a door and found Pete curled up in the corner "Um...Pete you alright?" He asked for her had never seen pete act this way.

"Yes sir I am fine, I was simply on standby to conserve energy." Pete lied smoothly, his programming allowing such white lies, he stood up gracefully, "I have finished the modifications to the drones, and they're ... we're ready to go at any time."

Pete wanted to talk with Dawn first, except he didn't, he also wanted to keep this dirty action secret, to himself, even though he would love to talk to her ... he was confused, programs clashing with each other. As always none of this inner conflict showed on his calm exterior.

Skhaal raised a eyebrow and shaked his head "Thank you pete...oh yes I have a set of plans in my study I would like you to keep private and out of reach from anyone besides me or you...now could you point me to the controls to the arachni drones?" He asked looking around at the darkness of the room wondering if he was telling the trust but really didn't care and turned his attention back at the robot.

Pete tapped his head "The controls are here sir. I'm the only one capable of controlling them. It would require much more time and specialised relay equiptment to make it so a Thaxarian could control it, and recieve the sensory imput, and even then it would be less efficient. I on the other hand can recieve and handle the visual date coming from all of them, and control them all at the same time, perfectly." He wished he couldn't but he could, "It's the only way it had a chance of success sir." Pete hid his true emotions well, "Too well." He bitterly thought.
