RP: ISC Phoenix [R&R] Go Lively

OOC Note: This takes place after mission 4, but right before the end-of-year festivities.

Some time had passed between meeting of Phase and Tamamo - several months, in fact, and Phase was eager to show off the results of her labours to her client. This time, however, she gently glided along the ground, the result of a very efficient skate modification to those unusual legs. She was escorted by her good friend, the Bricklet, though it looked significantly less bricklike and more fishlike at this current juncture, with elegantly machined chevrons forming massive scales along the body.

This time, the freespacer was invited to the new base of operations for the Phoenix crew, the former oil rigs just off the shores of Sargasso. Her escort, thankfully, had hover capabilities, so she ended up riding it all the way to the imposing aquatic structures. Soon enough, Phase had touched down upon one of the platforms making up the structure popularly referred to as 'The Rigs,' though she was uncertain where to find her client as at the moment the platforms were largely vacant.

Having been fussing with maintenance work on a section of the south-eastern structure, Tamamo had been in an odd position when she caught sight of something shiny skimming over the waves out in the direction of the rigs. Pointing her ears forward she focused her eyes and found herself grinning brightly as she worked her way nimbly up from the support structure.

Skipping along at speeds that she really had no right travelling at it didn't take the small blue girl long to close the distance between herself and Phase arriving at the western-most platform, nearest to the shore.

"Hiiiii~!" Phase greeted upon sighting the blue. . . what was she?. "Long time no see, yes?"

"Hello, Dollmaker Diharmonious Phase 46-9084-314." Tamamo smiled a little, seemingly proud of the overly elaborate greeting, "It has truly been much too long. I trust the time has treated you well?"

"Ah, yes! Very productive time for me! I have learned many, many things about the art of killing!" Phase replied, clasping her hands together while a smiley played out on her face. "I see you have gained additional mass since I have last seen you. Is this the result of one of these "diets" I have heard so much about?"

"I suppose you could say that. I have experienced several losses of mass, as such I endeavor to keep a little extra round in case I need it." Her tone was light-hearted and playful, expressing the joy of getting to talk to Phase once more.

"That is a sound strategy, yes! I apply a similar technique to my other half. Spare armor plating to replace damaged pieces - very handy, yes. Now, on the topic of business, I believe I have made some drones as according to your specifications we discussed previously. And I have also upgraded my big friend!"

Nodding along as Phase described their own efforts in carrying additional mass, Tamamo's smile brightened for a moment as she replied, "I am eager to see what you have made, though forgive me a moment while I marvel at how handsome your companion is."

The words said Tamamo crouched down absentmindedly curling her myriad of tails around her legs as she looked over Phase's companion her eyes dancing from detail to detail across its form appreciating the refinement and sense of elegance that Phase's hard work had wrought.

Phase ran her hands over the sleek-ish form of the Bricklet and the chevron-scales peeled themselves off, eight in total, leaving the body bare as a warrior who was stripped of their armor. The chevrons flew about, twirling in midair and flexing down their middle 'spines' about Tamamo while observing her.
"These each have a tradeoff system for weapons, shields, and movement. Only two systems can be active at a time, but if they are powered through a wireless source like my big friend here, then there is no such drawback. Also~"

Phase gestured and four surrounded Tamamo, mounting their corners on Tamamo's waist into a skirt of sorts, with the spine acting to curve around her form neatly.

"Aesthetics can be changed to taste later~"

Watching curiously, Tamamo couldn't help but grin as the scales took to the air, liberating Phase's companion drone of their weight as they took to the air. Straightening up as she watched them move working to catch the details of their form even as they moved Tamamo was overcome by a sense of glee as Phase explained the systems.

After being 'skirted' by the drones Tamamo shifted her hips watching the way the weight of the drones shifted on her small form before speaking, "They're lovely. You've produced beautiful friends once more. I adore them. Also I'm impressed that you managed to incorporate all of the relevant functions into such a cohesive package. You are truly among the best of your trade."

As she finished her round of flattery Tamamo dipped into a curtsy spreading the skirt of drones as she bobbed in place before twirling giddily, seemingly overtaken by a whimsical joy. Perhaps all the anticipation had gotten to her more than she had initially let on.

Phase's digital eyes bobbed and swirled in time to the fox's movements, and she waited patiently for Tamamo to settle down somewhat before continuing.

"Well, that is a positive response if I ever saw one. I'm still working on shoring them up with a stronger hull, but they are otherwise finished."

"Which material do you have in mind?" Tamamo's gaze shifted from the still orbiting drones to Phase, affixing upon the Freespacer curiously.

"Given that I am working with the NSM, Nerumium. Or Yamatium, if I can get my hands on it. A good armor plate at an angle is excellent at deflecting shots, especially with the narrow profile that these friends have~."

"Nerimium is a good material, though it makes repairs expensive. Hmm, the lighter weight Yamatium might be preferable if you can get it, especially due to its ability to self repair. Though I understand that it is difficult getting the material with the SAoY restrictions." Tamamo paused a moment before adding, "Ofcourse any difficulty in material acquisition will be compensated for during during the payment process."

"I think I may turn to salvagers if I cannot take some panels off of some abandoned hardware back on my ship, yes~" Phase nodded, "But I thank you for your considerations!"

Nodding Tamamo paused a second before replying, "You've been a pleasure to do business with, it is good to know that I'll be able to properly pay you for all of the good work you have been doing."

"Good, good. I can give you four for now, and then when you pay me off, I will come back with the other four, yes? You can wear them like pauldrons until then~!" Phase said, demonstrating by mounting one of the remaining fliers on her shoulder neatly.

Tilting her head to the right Tamamo inquired, "Woudln't you need all four of them with you to change the chasis composition to one of your intended metals?" Her ears twitched inquisitively not certain she understood Phase's rationale.

"I am capable of very fast and efficient work. It's why I made eight drone friends. Now I have enough experience to make them easily."
As if to demonstrate, in one fluid motion she had switched hands and snatched one of them out of the air, and had the plate off in moments to reveal the complex mechanics inside.

Nodding placated, Tamamo bowed her head, "I should not have underestimated you." She considered the drone's inner workings curiously knowing that she'd have plenty of time to familiarize herself with them soon enough for both her own purposes, and for ensuring they were kept in proper working order.

Touching her hands to the two on either side of her hips and gesturing to the other two in the air, Tamamo spoke gently, "These four friends will stay with me. However, we will all eagerly await the last four joining us." She smiled warmly content that the visit had brought such pleasant news.

Uncertain where to proceed Tamamo found herself asking, "Do you need to head back quickly, or are you planning on enjoying the seaside sights?"

"Well, there is a rising fad that may be here to stay, so I will be around here and the capital to familiarize myself with it. It could be the profession that I have been looking for, com~plete~ly~"

The Type Four hugged her sides, a beaming smiley lighting up her face.

"A rising fad?" Tamamo tilted her head curiously this time to the left wondering what exactly had caught Phase's whimsy.

"Yes, yes~! It is racing, of a kind! Racing of frame-type armor!"

"Looking to join one of the pit crews?" Tamamo took a moment to imagine the Freespacer rushing about to get the Frame repaired or ready for whatever changes were deemed necessary by the pilots.

"Yes! It sounds so utterly ~per~fect~ for me, don't you think?"

Phase released the drone she had been holding to clap her hands together gleefully.

Considering it for a moment Tamamo nodded before commenting, "I'll have to keep an eye out for you when they air the races. It will be interesting to see what your expertise brings to the team."

Phase's display lit up with that same smiley.

"It may be sooner than you think~!"
