RP: YSS Resurgence Resurgence of Yamatai - Mission 3: Rescue At Anisa

Koyama made to shrug then thought better of it as she led Sanda toward where the shuttle had docked. When you had a map of the station in your head and knowledge of the foot traffic it made expediency a breeze. "Ship in distress as near as I can tell. The Shosa has already launched and we have a shuttle on standby to get us back. So search and rescue it would seem." the holographic clothing had remained in place despite the situation but she did raise her wrist to show Sanda the bracelet.

"I am keeping tabs on things as I am able. The Captain has already tried establishing contact and forewarned to not enter Anisa, and the away team has been chosen already I believe."
her expression turned sour then. "You would think our flyboy would wait for the two women he was accompanying." the Neko mused with a shake of her head as the dock loomed before them. Not having to glance to see the Ranger keeping pace with her shorter stride, Koyama gave Zanven a little look as she boarded the waiting craft.

"You left two women behind, Hei," chided the XO. But there was no bite to it to accompany the sigh. Without waiting for an answer, but one of her ears swayed toward his direction while poking her head into the cockpit.

"Hachirobei-hei, whenever you are ready and we are all aboard. We should not keep the Shosa waiting." the curtain of black hair spilling over a shoulder from her awkward stance. After speaking, she retracted herself from the cockpit.

Establishing a connection to the Resurgence, Koyama relayed a message to Aoba: -'We are taking off now and will rendezvous shortly.'-

Sanda and Koyama boarded the shuttle and she spoke at Zanven...to be honest it stung, but that was to be expected considering he did in fact leave two women behind who he said he would accompany during their leave. "I am sorry ma'am it will not happen again...but I hope this makes up for my idiot brain thinking you two left before me." He would say and offer her one of the table top guides, it was a hardcover to some space game played on a table with holo projection ability. "I do remember a few words when I first desired interest in going to the model shop. I thought you would appreciate this as well as take it as my sincere appology, and perhaps Sanda would like to as well if this flyboy did not ruin his chances at having made friends with you two lovely, strong women." He said as honestly a bead of sweat dripped down his forehead and down his cheek. "Besides...I am honestly kind of upset that my first fly mission was probably missed due to having been on port. I am ready to get to the medical bay as soon as possible so that I may be able to participate and hold my own with the crew of this ship." He admitted before sighing, he was an idiot for leaving so quickly.

In Route to Shuttle

Sanda frowned if most of the crew was on leave, who was the Captain sending on this mission. She pulled out her own data slate as she kept step with Koyama. It wasn't difficult, Sanda's long stride was able to keep pace with Koyama's quick pace. She scowled as she read who was to compose of the away team. Thad and Cassie. "Bueno ellos estan jodidos."

She shrugged at the mention of Zanven leaving them. "Did we really need an escort? I mean aside from Yayoi, we're probably the two most dangerous women on the ship. People need protection from us."

Aboard Shuttle

Sanda boarded the shuttle and was in the process of putting her ear piece in so she could listen to her music when she caught Koyama's statement and Zanven's reply. Sanda just raised an eyebrow. She glanced at the XO with a wicked grin. "You know, the last time I asked you if you wanted to have the honors of skinning someone alive you said I could. I really should have skinned him then and there. It would have saved us a lot of headache. You want me to go ahead with this one and safe the trouble?" She reached behind her and pulled out her Straight Silver knife and eyed Zanven before laughing and putting the knife away.

"Honestly Flyboy, you want to be friends with me? Cut the lovely, strong women crap. I'm a Ranger. The best of the best. Treat me like a fellow soldier and I won't have to skin you alive."

Sakuko knew her directions were to return to the Resurgence but she couldn't help but ask Aoba, "Oh Resurgence, this is Hachirobei...would you like us to return to the ship or join the other shuttle on the mission?" she asked as innocently as she could. "Oh! We have Poppy aboard," she added.

She couldn't see his face but she could somehow sense that he was smirking in mild amusement. "Hachirobei, so eager?" he questioned. "In that case, since there may be a medical emergency in progress, you should divert to join the other shuttle," Aoba said, sounding like a wise, cool dad who knew exactly what tricks his kid was trying to pull. "Resurgence out."

"Oh, yes!" Sakuko grinned. She grabbed the shuttle intercom handset and an announced over the passenger compartment speakers, "Attention passengers, due to a medical situation we heading for the alien ship to join the away team."

Beryl located a docking port and attempted to attach the shuttle's dorsal docking ring to it, which took a couple of minutes but eventually got a good seal. Once the shuttle was securely attached, it was safe to open the hatch in the shuttle's ceiling and try to enter the ship-in-distress.

Pidole checked to make sure everyone was suited up in their spacesuits or power armors and that the cockpit hatches were locked shut, just in case, and made hand symbols for clearing masks and helmets. Then she opened the hatch to reveal the Senti ship's hatch and immediately began working through getting it to open using her extensive technical knowledge. If this didn't work they might have to use the boarding module, which was an attachment that could cut airlocks into starships.

Cassie was nervous and still angry at Thad but put her feelings aside for the mission. She kept her rifle stowed but had her NSP ready in her hand in case this was some sort of trap.

Delmira looked at Kinie and shrugged before saying. "Duty calls lets get this pizza to go and head out." Delmira carried the majority of the stuff to the waiting shuttles only to find one left without them. Delmira laden with bags and a box of pizza used her tail to curl about the other Neko's wrist and pull her towards the other ship.

"Coming aboard." Delmira announced and stepped aboard with Kinie close behind her as the doors where closing.

Delmira found a cargo container and started to put the stuff that she bought with Kinie. She looked over at the cute Neko and smiled. "i think we will need to iron out or stuff later. I tried to put it in nicely." She said before sitting next to next her. "Are you armed Kinie?" She would ask the other Neko.

"I've got my NSP," Kinie told Delmira, pointing to her holster. She opened the pizza box, and the shuttle was filled with the wonderful aroma of fresh pizza. She immediately grabbed a slice and started eating it while the shuttle was in transit.

Poppy was really surprised that the standard emergency supplies in the T7 shuttle didn't include a bunch of spacesuits. "What the frell," she grumbled. "I can't believe there's no spacesuits for us to wear! If this spaceship doesn't have breathable air, we're stuck."

Thad could feel the tension in the air coming from Cassie. He just hoped this would keep her shape while they conducted the mission. He'd have much to answer for back on the ship however.

For the mission Thad had brought only a spacesuit instead of his power armor. Others had decided this path so felt he would be of more use in a more nibble outfit. "Lets rock and roll Pidole. Pop that hatch open or use the cutting tools. Don't want to waste time knocking on the door." Thad seen the report and that the person in need of aid was under heavy distress. Barely able to talk so indicated system failure was taking place.

Beryl switched off the gravity in the shuttle's passenger compartment so it would be easier to get to the hatch in the ceiling.

"Got it," Pidole grunted after a struggle with the locking mechanism, which she'd had to sort-of hotwire due to a power loss or security system. The door opened with a loud hiss to reveal a heavily-used airlock. Pidole floated into it carrying a sack of tools strapped around her torso and a small portable aether generator that she could connect to ship systems to provide a power source. Cassie followed in her Mindy armor, setting her NSP to stun.

Koyama smirked as she looked to Sanda and her offer before explaining to the woman that a man escorting two women regardless of them being able to take down a small army was a matter of decorum. Yet the princess shook her head at both her and Zanven's response. "You do not have to go that far, flyboy." she had said while taking the gift of appeasement in her delicate and slim hands. The Neko caressed the cover as she saw what it was.

At Poppy's remark, Koyama frowned. "We do not even have respirators? Masks? My uniform can act as an impromptu suit for a limited time..." her voice softening as she craned her neck to peer at the cockpit. "We will have to rely on the recon team to determine if it is safe or not."

Then added after a moment: "And if they have spare suits just in case." the Neko said to appease Poppy. "For now we can only wait and see. However..." Koyama paused, her thumb coming up to her bottom lip as if to bite a nail that wasn't there.

"This shuttle is equipped with a CIES. We may be able to determine what type of atmosphere it would have depending on any leakages just by analyzing any escaped gases' atomic structure and the free path."

It had been a hint for their pilot to use the CIES to do just that. "I would however like for there to be an atmosphere." her voice trailed off as she stared at Poppy.

"What does frell mean? It sounds as if it were a made-up word that came from some old entertainment show. Is it even a real word?"

Delmira will swiftly steal a bite of pizza from Kinie and grin at her. "Yep its not poisoned." Delmira took the time to enjoy being around the other neko especially during this calm moment while the shuttle was in transit to the mission.

"I dont think we will need guns but best to have it and not need it than need it and not have it." To make a point the neko pulled out her MPP checked it and holstered it before doing the same with her NSP. Regardless Delmira wanted to be ready for anything that may happen.

Hearing Sanda speak like that to him he smirked as Koyama also chimed in, happy with the appeasement gift as he was given the warning doubly. "To be honest, I am always going to be a gentleman up front, but if you insist. Then it looks like I will just have to fall back on when I was apart of medical staff...I hear you both loud and clear. I look forward to sharing the ship and wherever the missions take us." He said with finality before clamming up for the remainder of the shuttle trip.

After a moment, Pidole was able to cycle the airlock, which allowed the the first couple of them onto the unfamiliar starship. She let Cassie go in first since Cassie was in a Mindy, and then stepped inside afterward. They both looked around to see the general condition of the ship's interior. The door closed behind them.

In a moment, the second Ke-T7 shuttle (NG-S1-575-3) with everyone who'd just left White Harbor station arrived on the scene as well. Since the medic was aboard it, the first shuttle moved away and let the second shuttle start docking immediately.

The inside of the ship left much to be desired. It was horribly cold, but nothing like the empty vacuum of space. The walls were dirty and exposed, worn down and cut away without compromising the integrity of the inner workings. It looked like a ship that had been routed out by space pirates: looted, stripped to the bone, and sad to look at after a while.

Pidole stared at Cassie. "Do we have a way to check for good air?" she asked.

"I dunno," Cassie replied, sounding frustrated. "Let me look at the Mindy's manual."

"Oh, a manual! I am a manual," Pidole giggled. She knew power armor repair like the back of her hand. "I've got it! There's an air filter on the Mindy, try turning it on and off again and see if there's outside air you can filter and if works there that means there's air."

"See I knew it was good to bring the technician," Cassie said, impressed. She tried in and found there was indeed some air. "I think we are good." She transmitted her findings to both shuttles. "Resurgence teams, this is Cassie, air is present. Holding position."

Yayoi observed from the shuttle, and grabbed a weapon as she readied herself for possible battle.

After a moment to create a good seal, the second shuttle was connected to the alien ship and the others could enter. Poppy entered the airlock, looking a little nervous about going in without a suit on.

Kinie stayed back on the shuttle. "Let me know if you need me," she meekly said.

Cheilith was ready to go, her armor and rifle held at the ready, securing the perimeter as the other shuttle docked.

Delmira enjoyed the trip over but was up and ready to go hanging onto a strap from the roof of the shuttle ready to go. She winked at Kinie and moved to stand by the door to the shuttle ready for it to open.

Going further in revealed more or less of the same dismantlement and deconstruction. No processes hindered or machinations failing. Just the choppy, unrefined look seen previously. There were only two rooms of significant interest: the bloodied smelting station, which was present on all Senti ships, and the corridor leading to the bridge. A corridor speckled with dried blood, scrapes, scratches, and one large pool of blood since left to sit and coagulate. A body normally associated with this sort of scene was nowhere to be found.

Cheilith's keen eyes scanned the mess in front of them. "Blood, no body. Spooky as all hell." She commented on the scene in front of them.

Cassie joined Cheillith on point and began searching the ship for survivors with her.

Poppy took a sample of the blood and placed it in her medical pack. "It's freezing in here," she shivered.

Yayoi was silent as she followed the others. Since she wasn't spoken to she didn't think to say anything as she kept her eyes on the environment around her. "Agreed" she muttered, it was cold but she could take it, she thought she had been through worse than this.

The corridor split in two, creating a T-Shape with a metal door at the center of the hallway. The trail of blood which came into its own from the mess they found drew a line along the metallic floor, going under the door and to the bridge of the ship. The door would be easy to open once they discovered the entry pad was busted, the glass on the fancy software program shattered and broken.

"Got a door here, Pidole," Cassie announced.

Pidole came up to the door and looked at the shattered controls and decided to hot-wire the thing. "Gloves," she muttered, as the spacesuit slowed her down a little. Her beetle buddy looked around from inside her helmet.

While the others worked, Cheilith made sure that they wouldn't be interrupted by someone suddenly appearing in the darkened hall.

Delmira was out the door and she was looking around where the shuttle docked. She looked at Chelith and gave a nod before moving off to the right to look around hand on the hilt of her NSP.

"Okay," Pidole said, grabbing a device from her tool bag and connecting a door wire. The door slid open to reveal the ship's bridge. "We're in."

The bridge was the least affected area on the entire ship. Dirty and unkempt, but in one piece. Where everything else had been mutilated, the bridge remained in tact. The blood trail continued down the bridge and came to stop under a rolling chair. In that rolling chair sat a young man, pale, sickly, and thin. He leaned forward over the glass top control center, breathing ragged and eyes barely open. His arms hung limply in front of him, likely bracing his slump onto the unit. Raspy inhales sounded pitifully every now and then, and it sent the message. He was in rough shape.

Yayoi was silent as she followed the others. Since she wasn't spoken to she didn't think to say anything as she kept her eyes on the environment around her. "Agreed" she muttered, it was cold but she could take it, she thought she had been through worse than this.

"Medic!" Cassie shouted when she saw the Senti in the brdige chair.

Poppy hustled up to the bridge. "Fuck, I don't know shit about Senti medicine," she hissed. She first made sure the bleeding was stopped.

Pidole checked out the ship's condition while Poppy worked.

Delmira stayed by the second shuttle acting as security for now until called to go elsewhere. "Wish i had more pizza before landing." she said to herself.

Mia Barber's voice suddenly came over the team's audio network. "Hey, I remember in caretaker school when they taught us about making different species comfortable, they said Senti have extreme sensitivity to cold," she offered.

"Okay, let's get him to the shuttle and turn the heat up," Poppy said out loud and over the net. "Cheilith, can you help me carry him? Actually Delmira can you do it so I can keep pressure on the wound?"

"On it." Delmira said and swiftly made her way to the bridge to help out. "We got a stretcher to put him on?"

Cheilith took a small cylinder from her belt and set it on the ground next to the Senti. It unfolded and unrolled into a stretcher. "We knew this was a rescue mission going in." She explained as the edges hardened into handles for Delmira and Cheilith to carry with.

Delmira smirked at Chelith. "Alright on 3 lets load him on," Del moved to position to move him and then grab the handle bars ready to pick him up and move him.

As they positioned the Senti to get him on the stretcher, they would see where the source of bleeding came from. He had a stab wound on his leg, and he was lucky it only got muscle. They would also discover how light he weighed, another hint to his current predicament. Small parts of long hair had started falling out as well, a visual cue of Hypometallucism.

Yayoi observed the activity as her crew worked to help the being she now knew to be a Senti, The environment was a tell tale sign. But the poor sight before her bothered her. She also knew he had to be cold, and she had a feeling she knew what that meant. She turned her attention to the rest of the ship and followed Cassie since the others had him secured.

Delmira and Cheilith hustled the Senti to the shuttle quickly and lay him with a medic inside. Cheilith grabbed another quick stretcher and the two rejoined the rest of the group.

"One subject secured," Cassie reported over the radio. "I'm searching the rest of the ship," she said, moving out to check if there was anyone else on board.

The rest of the ship would be empty. Every corridor devoid of living things. Every room and bunker unoccupied. The only thing the crew would find was the corpse which the pool of blood belonged to. A Senti, long deceased, never smelted into burial steel. His body slumped against the wall limply, a red dried knife in his open palm and a thousand-yard stare in empty eyes. Covered in blood, and very clearly an older Precent. The man was an impressive 6'7", a tall and strapping body gone to waste.

"Got one corpse," Cassie said over the radio. "Beryl, you got any bodybags?"

Yayoi cursed silently as she hovered beside Cassie and observed the body. She thought it was a shame, but nothing they could do so she started moving on.

"Yeah, Thad is bringing one for you." In a moment, Thad arrived with one from the shuttle and helped move the body into the person-sized sack and sealed it up. The bag had two sets of handles on it so he grabbed one and helped haul it back to the shuttle.

YSS Resurgence - Shuttle Bay

With the ship secured, and the two Senti retrieved, the crew were able to get back to the shuttles and head for the YSS Resurgence. In short order, they were back in the ship's shuttle bay carrying loads of shopping bags, but also two bodies, one dead and one unconscious. Poppy supervised as they brought the man to her medical lab for treatment. Cassie watched the stretcher go and then removed her helmet and walked out of the shuttle bay across to the power armor bay. Pidole started peeling herself out of her tight AMES to reveal her red-paneled duty uniform.

"Life in the Star Army always has something unexpected, doesn't it?" Kinie observed. "I wonder what happened on that ship?"
