RP: YSS Resurgence Resurgence of Yamatai - Mission 7: The Great Seelie Rescue

Kiyo was silent as she contemplated what Sanda had said”I know the feeling, I’m only temporary, but I don’t like the idea of a ship I’m serving on having its honor tarnished. “ She commented to Sanda as she walked with her. Then watched as Sanda was taken care of, before her attention went to Koyama, ad nodded her head. “Yes Ma’am! I’ll bring it back to specs and make it roar like Hoshi-Hei’s call sign!” She said with a salute to their superior. She turned to Sanda “relax, and while I work I’ll leave some extra presents for ya, and if you’d like to hear what I do to calm down after a bad mission, let me know!” she said as she stepped back, so Sanda can be seen to.

Power Armor Bay

Time saw Kiyo returning to the Power Armor bay. She immediately got the fabricators working on new parts for Sanda’s Mindy, and as she waited she checked on her own power armor. She found Luna there, so the girls quietly worked. Then when the fabricators finished, they took it to Sanda’s Mindy. Hello Beautiful! Sorry I am not the usual girl working, but I wanted to help, now then darling, lets see you get repaired, and good enough to roar like thunder. Kiyo said to Sanda’s Mindy as she began replacing parts.

Medical Center

Chiasa was still somewhat shaken from the mission, but she hadn’t missed a beat in returning to her duties after it. While Poppy worked on Nanook the pharmacy specialist had been working in the science lab, preparing prescriptions and various medications. Before long, she made her way back to the medical center, pushing a cart full of various drugs and pharmaceuticals.

“Hoshi-Hei, I refilled your Anti-Radiation Prescription.” The tiny pharmacy specialist began as she entered the treatment area. “Everything looks good, so this should be the last round. I decreased the dosage, but you still need to take them every six hours.” She added. “If you’re still experiencing symptoms, let us know.” Chiasa finished.

Sanda was the one to actually say something when passing and even though he wanted to say something, she continued to walk away and he just sighed before continuing to walk away. He had not been back long. First he arrives and helps…albeit useless during the medevac and then he was the pilot for two new crew members and ferried them to their new post. He contemplated going to the simulation room and getting some training room but he needed a change. He keeps feeling like is not doing his duties, he doesn’t fit in, and now that the Nodachi was gone he could only rely on the Power Armor training to get him into a mission.

It was not long until the bridge announced that they were leaving as he passed the Hangar next, seeing that the new members were finishing their brief and he received a message on his personal comms. “Heh, well…that is at least a plus. I hope those two find a good room and who knows, perhaps that sparring match in the dojo will still go down.” He said before texting be back a simple reply; “happy to have you here, let me know if you two need anything, or if you feel like throwing down in the dojo. Plenty to do.” And then after pressing send he would pocket the comm unit and continue to walk.

Observation Deck

He had been contemplating the medevac and the news reports and yeah, he was angry about the failed mission that he read the reports on, but he could do nothing about it unless asked. There was also the fact that they were still on their original mission as a a whole, but he was currently without orders. He was soon making his way to the observation deck and he would put a request to speak with Captain Aoba, and waited as he looked at the people that were around. The backlight of hyperspace was a beautiful sight, this ship really was his home, he hoped he could finally just lose this funk he was in and just…fit in.

Hangar Bay

Considering a ride on Emiko, Mineko wondered if it would be on her back, shoulders, or dangling like she had earlier from her arm. She ducked her head to laugh into her hands as she considered such an arrival.

"I want to get off on the right foot with my commanding officers, so I should probably be on my own two feet to be sure of that," Mineko said. "Next time though..." Mineko quieted quickly when she realized one such CO had approached.

Straightening her back and holding in a breath, the analyst got more than quiet as Koyama began to speak. Mineko refused to move more than inch as the XO welcomed them aboard. Surprisingly she had bowed to the likes of her, but then Mineko second-guessed the act. Emiko Freyjasdóttir next to her was a Shoi after all. The show of respect was likely aimed to the giantess. She had beaten a troll once, after all. Emiko deserved as much.

"Arigatou," Mineko said, finally breathing out and moving from her hips for a low bow that looked to almost mechanically stop at its lowest point. Gracefully, she raised back up despite the duffel on her back's looming presence. "Santo Hei Mineko, reporting for duty as intelligence analyst for your ship, Shosa."

Emiko bowed even more deeply in reply, after coming to attention when addressed, and held it until at least a three-count after Koyama rose. Leaning forward at that angle, it was almost as if she were tempting Mineko to use her as a walking bridge. When Emiko rose, there was nothing skirting edges about how deep her voice was, though it would be an odd contrast if it were higher. "Freyjasdóttir-Shōi, Shōsa. For the infantry contingent. Akira-Taii spoke highly of Ketsurui-Shōsa." She'd changed from her bodysuit and field jacket into her 35's in dress configuration to report on the ride over, likely a lovely but somewhat comedic occurrence, given her size and the confines of a shuttle, even one as roomy as the T-11.

"And your pilot was excellent."

YSS Resurgence - Bridge

"Arriving in the Kepler's Find star system," Gabriela said as the ship jumped out of hyperspace fold in a flash of white light and a shimmer of teal that faded as the ship's fold system spun down. "Red dwarf system, six planets, asteroid belt between I and II."

"Commencing scans," said Kalena Matsushita. After a brief pause she continued, telling the captain, "I'm not showing any obvious other ships in the system on our initial sensor sweep."

"Very good," the captain Aoba replied, "Take us to the outermost planet for a closer look. We'll work our way inward." Meanwhile, he had received Zanven's message and invited the pilot to come down to the ship's bridge in person. He also called for Euikoshi so he could ask her to work on the scientific observations of the system. "If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time a Yamataian starship has ever been in this system.

"That's a nifty green award for everyone, isn't it," Gabriela grinned.

"As part of your First Officer training I think I'll task you with awarding it," Aoba replied.

"Aye aye, captain," Gabriela chuckled.

Observation Dome

As Zanven was summoned to the bridge he ran into Sakuko who had come to see him. "I've missed you," she told him. "How are you?" she asked, falling into step alongside him as he made his way to the bridge.

Zanven was not left at the observation deck for long as he received the message rather quickly from the captain. He replied with a simple “on the way.” And pocketed his comm before heading out of the observation deck and to the bridge. There were a few people lingering, the crew that had off time and shared common interests. He was not one of them coincidentally and he was moving towards the elevator when Sakuko caught him. Those three words; she missed him…they caught his attention and the hairs on his neck stood on end as they walked towards the elevator.

When she asked him how he was he gave a slight smile and answered her first opening statement. “I have missed you too, sorry that I…that we haven’t had much time to talk since the party. I know that night was kind of a whirl but I…I have been still just trying to find my place here. Since we had to drop the Nodachi I picked up advanced power armor training and now pilot a Kieko armor. That’s why I…haven’t really replied to anything.” He was long winded but he had a slight blush on his cheeks as he thought Sakuko was amazing and the short moments they had shared so far had been some of the best on the ship, making his other achievements while on missions actually seem inferior.

“I am good though, I am happy to be back, but I’m also heading up to see the captain and try to…get a mission again, but enough about that. How are you Sakuko, what are you doing in the observation deck?” He asked with that same smile as he was slow to move to the elevator now.

"I was there because I tracked you down," Sakuko told Zanven. "I've been alright, I just needed to see you. She reached out and grabbed both of his hands and gave them an affectionate squeeze. Her fingers felt cool and strong. She tugged him into the lift with her. "Deck 3, Bridge level," she said, and the ship's MEGAMI got them moving. She locked eyes with Zanven, giving him a sexy face before letting him go as the lift doors hissed open. "Go get it," she encouraged him. "And good luck out there. If you need any supplies or anything from me before you go off on your mission, just let me know."

YSS Resurgence - Bridge

When Zanven arrived at the bridge, Aoba greeted him and stood up from his chair to talk to him face to face. "What's your your mind?" he asked the pilot.

Hearing her say she tracked him down made him feel like he had been leading her on and he honestly felt like a piece of sledge from a destroyed Kuvy fighter before she grabbed both of his hands and pulled him into the elevator and spoke to him while holding his hands affectionately. Hearing that she wanted to see him and then that face she made set him off and as she told him to go get his mission he gave her a look and before he could say anything further or leave he pressed the door button closed.

“I will be back quicker this time…hopefully, who knows, I’ll probably just have shuttle duty for some of the analysts on board…but before I go…”. He said before telling the door to remain closed for a moment he reached in and pulled her close and then gave her a single, soft yet passionate kiss before pulling away as he straightened up and answered her final remarks. “Don’t worry, I’ll be by soon to make sure I have what I need.” He said before exiting the elevator with his confidence a little higher, now walking into the bridge.

He saluted Captain Aoba before looking at the leader of the Resurgence. “Hello captain, nice to see you again in person.” He said as he exchanged greetings with his captain, when asked what was on his mind he came straightforward with his question. “Sir since the offloading of the Nodachi and the mech, I went through power armor training as was the report I had sent to you, but I am still a pilot through and through and I was coming to request assignment or a mission. Whether it be in reaction to the ambush and failure we suffered at our last stop or with our current destination…sir I’m looking to make a name for myself and be proactive rather than to sit and wait to be activated to a shuttle or for support in infantry matters.” He said as he kept his strong stance, he didn’t quite make a good impression with Aoba during the Thad incident…so he needed to do so now.

Hangar Bay - Exit

Both greetings earned a small but brief smile from Koyama. "Yes, we have an excellent pilot." nodding in agreement with the giantess of a Shoi. "Hopefully Akira is enjoying her retirement. Chiharu knows the woman deserves it. And hopefully, you, Freyjasdóttir-Shōi can keep the Giretsu-trained infantry left aboard our ship honed."

From Emiko, her attention shifted to the still, if only slightly taller Mineko. "I'm finally glad we have a black panel aboard. Considering the varied mission profile of the ship you will be a most welcome addition to the crew." The officer stood off to the side extending an arm toward the exit waited a moment then started towards it.

"As for your bunk assignments, Freyjasdóttir-Shoi we've one cabin available with no occupant. You are welcome to it. As for you, Mineko-hei, you'll be assigned to cabin five."

"The girls in five are all quite nice and I am sure you will fit in with them. If you desire a transfer to another cabin should that not be the case all you have to do is put in the request."

A small volumetric window floated just ahead of her while leading the pair. "Once you're both settled report to the medical bay to ensure your backups are in order. Freyjasdóttir-Shoi you're free to attend the roster of our infantry team.

And Mineko-hei our MEGAMI will bring you up to speed on our current heading and mission profile. If either of you has questions please do not hesitate to ask while we're on the way."

YE 45.1.1 - Afternoon

YSS Resurgence - Bridge

Aoba looked at Zanven, encouraging to him to state his wishes plainly. "So what do you want to do, then?" he asked the young pilot. It was obvious Zanvan wanted the captain's special permission for something.

Hearing the captain speak plainly Zanven looked at him and spoke up clearly. "Sir if I may speak plainly...the medevac gave me insight and i cannot stand to see our forces dishonored as such. I am requesting to take the fight to those that have caused us harm." He spoke clearly as he looked at the captain and waited for an answer.

he knew this would probably hurt Sakuko again, but this was something he felt compelled to at least ask.

"If you wish, I can assign you to temporary duty in the operation at Gashmere. You can take Jôtô Hei Hoshi Sanda with you, as she has made a similar request," Aoba replied to Zanven.

"Shall I be granted the use of the Keiko armor I brought to the ship, or shall I be joining the operation as a pilot sir?" Zanven replied as he had qualifications for both sides of duty, but he needed to know where his lines were once he left the ship.

"I'll give you a choice of either," Captain Aoba offered.

"Very well sir...since there are only two of us on the Resurgence that can use the armor currently...I will take it in addition to shuttling Sanda to the temporary assignment at Gashmere. Thank you for this opportunity, we will bring about a swift end to the operations with a successful outcome." He said as he looked around at the crew stationed on the bridge Then snapping his head back to the captain he spoke one last time. "When do we leave sir?" He asked as he still held that serious look and confidence from earlier.

"As soon as possible," the captain said. "You won't want to miss anything. Good luck and good hunting. Dismissed."

Zanven nodded and gave a salute. "Thank you sir!" He said before he excused himself from the bridge, heading back to the elevator as he needed to pack for his time away.

YSS Resurgence - Medical Lab

Nanook sat on the procedure table, flexing the hairless left arm attached to his torso. He was fascinated by the way the muscle groupings moved under his skin as he flailed his arm back in forth like a child with a new toy. He flexed his arm, rotated it, clenched his fist. Looking at his claws he wondered out loud, "Maybe I should paint those." In a life changing moment, he had an epiphany. "I CAN GET A TATTOO!"

"I've never seen a hairless Kodian before," Poppy commented, watching Nanook's bare arm. "Everything working okay," she asked as he tested it out.

Nanook looked at Poppy, "I have once, rare genetic disorder. Also results in a lack of sexual organs in Kodians. I think so, it just gets cold too easily."

"Remind me to set the hemosynthetics to grow his hair back, too." Chiasa quipped playfully, as she set to work on re-stocking the drug inventory. "Be careful leaving the medical bay, by the way. We want to keep it clean in here." The tiny Nekovalkyrja added with a coy wink, though she partially meant it. She didn't want to be stuck cleaning up a mess in the medical center again.

Nanook snuck a roll of gauze into his paw, removed the package, and threw it at the back of Chiasas' head as he ducked out of the hatch to the medbay. Blowing a rasberry as he did so.

Cheilith was there with a cast on her arm, "If he wants a tattoo, perhaps we should give him one."

"Technically, we could do-" Chiasa piped up, only just before Nanook's gauze struck her dead in the back of the head, her Nekovalkyrja senses proving inadequate for the task of anticipating or reacting to the thrown missile!

"Ahhh...I love Infantry antics." Chiasa giggled.

Sanda looked up from the bed she had been resting on. "Did someone say something about a tattoo?"

"Nanook mentioned them." Chiasa answered Sanda. "I was about to saying something about adding genetic tattoos, but the only issue is that it'd take a lot more than a laser to remove them." She added. "You know, there should be an option on the soul transfer respawn protocols to add the old body's tattoos genetically..." The tiny pharmacy specialist mused.

"Why would you want to remove a good tattoo?" Sanda said looking at her own tattoos running down her arms. She looked back up at Chiasa. "If ST's don't record your tattoos, don't bother respawning me. I wake up and look in the mirror and don't see this lighting bolt I'd freak out."

Chiasa frowned. She suddenly realized that an option for a new body to retain the old body's tattoos genetically was actually needed.

"I'm going to make a note on your ST record." Chiasa said, after a few processing cycles, which passed as little more than a split-second in real time. "In the mean time, may I take a quick scan of your body? I might be able to translate the tattoos to the hemosynth settings, in case it's needed."

"Is there any more fixing that needs to happen?" Poppy asked, looking around at everyone to make sure she hadn't missed anyone injured.

Sanda nodded to Chiasa. "Thank you. I don't plan on dying but you just never know do you?" Sanda shrugged then winced. "I think I'm stuck here for a while yet so might as well take advantage of it. I try to avoid the Med bay whenever possible." She glanced sideways at Poppy and whispered. "She's crazy." Smiling as she did so.

Chiasa offered a small, subtle smile towards Sanda, but otherwise said nothing. She wasn't in the business of talking about her direct co-workers right behind their backs. Nevertheless, Chiasa took a quick scan of Sanda's body. Already, the wheels were turning in the tiny Nekovalkyrja's digital mind pertaining to the steps she might need to carry out to translate the Ranger's tattoos genetically. It would be a problem for her to work on later that night.

"Done." Chiasa finished with a smile. "As I said before, if you do end up needing a new body, the tattoos likely won't come off with just a laser." She advised.

"Good." Sanda layed back down and closed her eyes a moment. She had to admit, it felt good to rest a little bit. Eyes still closed, she said. "Hey Chiasa. You did good out there today. Good fire discipline. Level head when Nanook was hit." She moved a little bit to get more comfortable on the bed. "Glad to call you my squad mate."

Chiasa's blush showed across her features in spite of their pinkish-tan color as she processed the Ranger's compliment. "I just did what I was made for." Chiasa said. "You did well too. I don't know what I would have done if you hadn't arrived to cover me and Nanook." The tiny Nekovalkyja added. "I just wish we could get back at those bears." She frowned. "I know other units are handling the issue, but it doesn't feel good leaving a mission unfinished."

"No it doesn't." Sanda mumbled begging to fall asleep. "I should do somethi..."

Chiasa frowned as the Ranger seemed to doze off, but otherwise didn't panic after processing her vitals. At the very least, it reminded her that she could use a nap, as well. Combat was nothing if not exhausting, even for a Nekovalkyrja.

YSS Resurgence - Power Armor Bay

Kiyo looked at the newly repaired armor before her and smiled. "I did good!' she said with a proud smile on her face. "I hope Sanda likes what i did" she said as she pushed her thoughts from the negativity. Instead she focused on the positive, like she usually did. This time, she focused on Yayoi her poor sister, who was likely being tormented by Yuri.

Kiyo remembered how fast Luna was and how she'd have had to make sure she was secure in a safe area away from weapons. Yuri probably would be better off on Yamatai where she had air but the space would be a problem as she knew Yuri might want to explore her world.

She also knew that Luna, and Yuri trying to grab weapons would be a bad thing. But she didn't dwell on that instead she turned and walked out.

YSS Resurgence - Shuttle Bay

With nothing but nods of agreement while Koyama spoke, Mineko was ready to take her directions to heart and start on getting backed up. Before she did, though, a question pressed at the back of the analyst's mind into the forefront.

"Thank you for all that you have done. I can't wait to get into my quarters and learn all I can. Does this ship's MEGAMI have a name? It's not something I found when reading up on it," Mineko asked.

Thad wondered into the Shuttle Bay to find a place to relax. He then noticed that people had gathered there for some reason. "Oh, Hiya there. I wasn't expecting to find people in here."

As the man entered, Mineko recognized him from personnel files. Her red pupils set in blue darted from him back to the Shosa over a tight smile.

Koyama ignored Thad a moment to answer Mineko's question with a small smile, "You could of course ask her." Gesturing to the interior before allowing all pretense of friendliness drop while giving Thad a level stare.

"It's the shuttlebay, Thad. Of course people will be in here."

"Of course," Mineko said as her gaze drifted upwards, to the crevices and crannies of the bay and away from her crewmembers. "MEGAMI, Santo Hei Mineko here. How should I refer to you?"

"Megami is acceptable," the ship's AI answered.

"Thank you then, Megami!" Mineko nodded, wondering if most Star Army ships were nameless and the few mentions of named ship AI in the annals of Yamataian history were just outliers.

Kiyo entered the shuttle bay, thinking she'd wanted to check this place out before going to the Infirmary and took note of the people, and especially one large one. Oh my, did they want a friend for Nanook? that's nice of them! She couldnt help but think as she made her approach, and Mineko's words caught her interest. She eventually decided to move on.

Thad just chilled waiting for the crew to finish talking to the ship. It had taken him awhile to get use to interacting this way since on his homeworld this wasn't an option.

"And how is Mia and the baby?" Koyama tried in vain at small talk with the half-breed SOL.

"I'm pulling up the roster now..." Emiko knitted her brow and her eyes fell on Thad as the match pinged one of her infantrymen was present in the shuttle bay, talking to the first officer, and which infantryman that it happened to be. She scanned his file while standing by, silently and enormous, until Koyama finished addressing him.

"I'm going to head to the med bay to get that backup if anyone else is heading that way," Mineko said, ducking her head a bit as she made her way around those gathered. With a bow at the doorway to the bay and quiet words not meant to interrupt, she said, "Thanks again, Shosa!"

Thad looked towards Koyama. "Baby is doing great, starting to get into more trouble than me. Mia seems to be enjoying the life away from Star Army. How about you, how are things?"

When it seemed like Thad would be occupying Koyama in conversation, Emiko bowed, "Shōsa. I will report to the medical bay as well." Once more her gaze fell on Thad, "There will be an infantry contingent briefing after mess." Another bow, and Emiko's gigantic form loped after Mineko and Kiyo.

"The same as ever." Koyama replied as she nodded to the two new members of the Resurgence's crew. "Word of warning, Thad. The tall one is your new superior. So your best behavior." Granted his best behavior was as erratic as a Funky City sewer rat on Big K. Well intentioned or not.

"And I'm guessing by your opening remark on seeing us in here you wanted to be alone?"

Medical Lab

"Ohayo," Mineko bowed at the entrance to the med bay, having stowed her duffel in cabin five. "Santo Hei Mineko. I've been told to report for a backup!" With her reddish blue eyes she surveyed the many patients and medical personnel, then added, "But I can come back at a better time, of course."

"It's alright," Poppy said, washing her hands and then guiding Mineko to the Type 30 Mental Transfer and Backup Unit. "We'll get a baseline mind scan for you and also take some DNA samples in case we ever need to make you a new body."

Kiyo found her way in the Medical Lab as she wanted to check in on Sanda, and also to make sure she was backed up. Plus she wanted to get to know Mineko and talk to her too.

"Joto Heisho Poppy Pink?" Mineko asked with a double fanged smile that pushed at her eyes. she climbed onto the backup unit as she spoke, eyeing the patients as she lowered her voice. "I really can't wait to see you work! Not that I want to see any of the crew injured or on the brink of death, but it seems like you have a real knack for what you do!"

"I enjoy being able to help," Poppy said. "I prefer the support role," she added.

Zanven stopped the elevator at the floor with the med bay. He pulled his personal comm from his pocket and sent a message to Sakuko. "I for my mission, I need to talk, where do you want to meet up and when?" he pressed send before walking into the med bay to look for Sanda as that's where she was last heading

Once inside he took a look around for a few seconds till he saw Sanda, she was last seen heading this way from when he saw her in the Power Armor Bay. He walked up and leaned against the wall. "Feeling better?" His inquiry was short and sweet as he did not know the extent of her injuries in the first place.

Sanda opened her eyes and glanced over a Zanven before closing them again. She smirked. "Good enough to take you flyboy." She chuckled to herself then said, "So how are have you been? Got any new models?" Sanda remembered that Zanven was quite a collector of models.

A bit after Mineko, Kiyo, and Zanven arrived, Emiko's bulk darkened the light from the corridor outside, filling the entire door, as she ducked her head a bit entering the medical bay. She always ducked, even if she could fit, a hard-won habit. "Freyjasdóttir-Shōi, reporting." Emiko looked over the patients, tagging them with their identites in her grafted-on digital mind. She looked particularly long at the bear-with-no-hair.

Zanven chuckled at Sanda as he heard her reply and then as she closed her eyes again and rested she asked him about his models and he shook his head. "Havent had time since I've been gone training a lot with the Keiko armor...however I'm here because we got assignments to fill at Gashmere. Get some rest and call me when you are ready...we will get back the honor taken from us." He said before patting her shoulder and turning to leave. "Glad you are alive Sanda...let's make sure we both stay that way." He would say before taking his leave.

Chiasa's mouth formed an O-shape as a looming shadow darkened her surroundings, compelling the tiny Nekovalkyrja to turn around to face its source—a towering, silver-haired Amazon of a woman, who her digital mind identified as Emiko Freyjasdóttir.

"Freyjasdóttir-Shōi," Chiasa began with impeccable, precise pronunciation, though a short pause after betrayed her awe as the tiny Nekovalkyrja craned her neck to look up at her. "Right this way." She added, before leading the Amazon towards one of the mental backup alcoves. "I read your medical file. Let me know if you need any additional assistance with procuring your supplements or if something isn't right with them." The pharmacy specialist commented idly.

"Mm. So you have Advancer Technical manual on file?" She followed as directed, "You are the pharmacist? I have one month in the bag," Emiko gestured with the backpack, not much bigger than the size of a clutch purse in her hand.

"Yes, I did." Chiasa answered, as she gestured towards the free mental backup bed. She could only hope it was long enough. "I already have a prescription arranged."

"Good it is long enough, no?" Emiko laid down on the bed. It was long enough, but it was only just barely wide enough for her. "And I am trying to bulk up, so I have been taking 250g of powdered Durandium four times per day." She was eating a kilogram of structural alloy a day.

"Whatever you think she's going to need nutritionally, quadruple it." Mineko chirped from her bed as she looked over at Emiko and the pharmacist. "The manual doesn't do her appetite justice."

Chiasa blinked, briefly stopping herself from staring too long at the woman's athletic, muscular form. What is there left to bulk up? The thought passed unsaid, manifesting only as a nervous smile directed towards the new Analyst.

"I'll keep that in mind." Chiasa added with a suppressed giggle, which morphed into a faux clearance of her throat as she turned on the backup machine.

"Moltes gràcies," Emiko thanked Chiasa in her Mutari-Sardinian Nepleslian dialect before she started to go under. It took the sedatives a bit longer to act on her, but at the same time, Emiko should have been in terrible pain if still conscious that far into the ST procedure, yet seemed fine.

Sakuko came to Zanven and met him near the medical lab. "What's up Zan?" she asked him.

Sanda's eyes opened fully and she sat up a little bit. "Oh?" She smiled at Zanven. "Well now that is good news. We'll make those bastardos pay and restore honor to the Res. Someone
give me some clothes." She said as she tried to get out of bed. But she stopped short as the room began to spin. She lay back down. "Well we'll give them a sporting chance to run and hide before we get them."

Poppy sent an equipment request to Beryl, and then flashed it to Sanda. In the request form Sanda could see Poppy had asked the supply department for a brand new Type 42 Duty Uniform. In real time she could see Beryl approved it and said it would be available in the laundry room.

Kiyo glanced to Zan and Sanda and listened to their conversation. "Big sister! just rest! you'll get your chance soon!" she replied to her. then nodded "agreed, giving them a sporting chance good idea, oh speaking of, i left a present for you in your armor's loadout, hope you like it!" Kiyo said before moving to talk to a medic for her check up.

Zanven heard Sanda's reply and smiled before hearing her raise from her bed. He shook his head and still continued to leave when he bumped into Sakuko and he heard her ask what was up. He looked at her and answered her in a calm tone, though it was a little sad as he remembered the kiss in the elevator. "Well I got my mission...heading to Gashmere with Sanda and we are going to get those bastards that ambushed the away team. That means that...we probably won't be seeing each other for a while again." He said as he scratched the back of his head.

"Oh!" Sakuko blinked. "You don't know how long it will be for?" she asked, rubbing the back of her head. "I will miss you, Zanven. Before you go, can you stop by my cabin? I believe I owe you a kiss," she smiled softly, looking into his eyes. "I'll be waiting," she said, giving another squeeze to his hands.

Zanven nodded as she confirmed what he had just said to her. Seeing her rub the back of her head made him honestly feel bad for asking for the mission but he knew had to do this. Then he was taken by surprise as as she asked him to stop by her cabin and that she owed him a kiss before he left. That smile made his cheeks warm up as she looked into his eyes and stated that she would be waiting and gave his hands another squeeze he chuckled. "I will see you soon." He said as she looked like she had to get back to what she was doing before he messaged her.

in his head he was hoping he performed well on this mission. Showing he was worth the time and investment to his crew was great, but he was actually...having thoughts of what would happen between him Sakuko and if there was something past their time served in service to the Resurgence.

Sanda actually blushed a little bit. She felt touched that her crew were behind her in going back to Gashmere to finish the fight. "Gracious." She said as she closed her eyes again. She just needed a little rest and then she'd be up and ready to take the fight to those that had soiled the Resurgence's honor.

When her backup was taken care of, Mineko excused herself from the med bay. She was sure to get a shower and a fresh uniform on before she poured over some of the data of the mission profile and the destination, Kepler's Find. The crew cabins were a little cramped without much in the way of a workstation, so she sat on her bed and studied there cross-legged. When she was satisfied with her own knowledge on the subject and that of the Abwehrans, she set her bed's comforter right before lacing up her boots.

"Thank you for your help, Megami. Would you ask the XO Koyama if she would show me to my bridge station, if I have one?" Mineko asked aloud as she stood in the center of her cabin, looking at the ceiling as she did. "If not then that's fine."

“The first officer believes you will use Mission Operations and work with Matsushita-Taii. She apologizes as she is still… in her own words, ‘Dealing with Maximus-hei’.” Megami, if one could imagine, sounded slightly exasperated at the latter. “As this is a Fuji-class Exploratory Gunship, the bridge configuration is three tiers. Mission Operations will be level two, the middle station.”

After a pause, the ship’s artificial intelligence spoke again. “She hastens to add that the Taisa will expect you on the bridge as she has alerted him to your presence.”

Emiko awoke from her backup and sat up, legs over the side, rubbing her head. She reached down to the backpack she'd tucked neatly beside the ST bed, unzipped it, and popped the top off of a supplement container she'd extracted. As she tossed it back, nostrils flaring as she cycle-nose-breathed to drain the entire liter in one go, she sent a message to the Resurgence's combat arms contingent.

Resurgence Combat Operations:

We will have a short briefing after mess, please remain in the wardroom after eating.

Emiko stood, stretched, and bowed to the medical personnel. "I thank you." She gathered her things, as she'd come straight to medbay with Mineko instead of settling in first as Koyama suggested, and shouldered her bags to find her quarters.

Zanven was quickly packed up, making sure his gear was secured he was given some details but not everything was there as they had to be vague in case of issues with transmitting orders. He was told to pack a suit and he did so as his tailored uniform dress suit was packed away he checked the time. It was nearing 0130 and he was remembering that Sakuko wanted to meet up with him before he left. He grabbed his items before going to pack them in the T-11 along with overseeing the loading of Power Armor that the pair were taking. After it was all nicely packed away and he could move around the cabin a bit he signed off on his assignment orders before grabbing his personal comm. He sent a message to Sakuko and said he would be by in about ten minutes and then pocketed the device before heading off.

He walked up to Sakuko's cabin and knocked twice as he waited for an answer he looked like he was at least dressed to impress as he wanted to be sure that he could at least enjoy what could be his final time with her if things went wrong. He was not pessimistic, but the thought was at least still there as he held in his hands the small sparrow statuette and he thought about what to say.

The lean analyst adjusted the piping of her 30C as it sat against her hips, making sure it wasn’t crumpled or about to become so. Her pistol belt seemed a bit crooked so she fixed it, as well, by pulling and pushing. Inevitably, it sat corrected by mere centimeters. Maybe her tights could do with a little pull so that the fabric around her thighs rebounded and properly hugged her legs. Perhaps the ribbon of her double bun could go with tying again…

“No more putting it off, Mine,” she said to herself, pronouncing her nickname like “Mih-nay”. She stepped forward, making the automatic doors on the starboard side of the bridge open. She looked with wide red and blue eyes to Aoba, then the Taii, then to her mission station. Ducking her head to avoid gawking any more than she had been, she navigated to the station by way of looking at the flooring and bottoms of the consoles. Once on the second tier in the middle seat, she astutely set about being sure she had access to her volumetric panel and the general layout from her seat. Noting all was as it should be, she realized one thing that was not.

She stood and quickly faced the teal-headed expert navigator and bowed crudely.

“Santo Hei Mineko reporting for duty, Matsushita-Taii.” She sounded like she was pulling the words from a hidden recess below her throat and beyond her diaphragm. She was barely able to croak out the final rank suffix before taking in a deep breath through her nose.

Sakuko's Cabin

Sakuko opened the door with a warm, friendly smile, "Come inside, Zanven," she said, tugging him into the cabin. He could see two neatly-made bunks and, in the back of the cabin, a makeshift office made with field tables, computers, and a lot of books and binders. They even had a printer, which wasn't that common on starships. The room had a distinctive scent of a woman's bedroom in that it smelled like Beryl and Sakuko's bodies and shampoos and other products. Like his cabin that shared a common layout, it wasn't very roomy. As soon as the door closed behind them, Sakuko began gently kissing Zanven on his lips, cheeks, and neck, while her fingers unzipped his uniform jacket. "Let's go to the bed."

Kalena, looking a little confused, stood and polite gave Mineko a bow, "Good afternoon, Mineko-hei. Pleased to meet you. Were you looking for the ship's captain? He is over there," she told the new soldier, gesturing towards Aoba Kuranosuka with her hand. "Let me introduce you." She led Mineko to the captain, who got up from his seat.

"Good afternoon," Aoba said. "I'm pleased to meet you, Hei. It looks like you'll be working with us on the bridge as intelligence officer, or on the away teams collecting intelligence. Do you have any preference on that? Do you have any intelligence on the Kepler's Find system?"

"Entering orbit of Kepler VI," Gabriela announced.

Sakuko’s Cabin

When the door opened he was prepared to say something but instead was met with a tug on his uniform as he was told to come inside. He had a smirk as the door was shut behind him and locked as he took a look around the cabin, noticing the aroma the room held along with the layout. Before he could comment about the printer in the back however, he felt his uniform being undone while a series of shared kisses between them led the two to her bed. He sat the small sparrow statuette on the table beside her bed and climbed into her bed. Zanven was making sure to get what he needed before he left on his mission as promised in the medical lab.

A time jump later…

Zanven was laying in her bed as he looked at her in his arms as he gave her a smirk and first started off with. “So I have to ask…how do you have a printer?” He teased with a smirk before leaning down to kiss her lips once more as he felt at ease…a feeling he only had the few times they got to hang out. His heart beat loudly and strongly for a moment as he thought of something else to say but he was just unable to find the words.

"I was looking for yo-ooh," Mineko said to Kalena, ending her word on an upward lilt of her tone as she was offered an introduction to the captain. Thankfully his latter question was something she knew for sure and she replied with enthusiasm.

"Well, the Kepler system's sixth planet shows at least promise of terraforming in its past. Its composition is primarily liquid methane covered by methane ice that the Abwehrans were particularly interested in as a natural gas resource. Sadly they didn't do much research into the non-organic life present on the planet. Due to the presence of such and the unknown surrounding it, I would recommend a survey of Kepler VI and its seamounts especially."

Mineko said in a less interested tone, "Otherwise, Kepler one, three, and five as well as its asteroid fields are likely places to find pirates exploiting the resources therein."

She chewed her lip, wondering if she could get away with not answering the next question. Her eyes flitted to Aoba as her heart thumped in her chest. Imposing and with a track record for preferring astute clarity, she knew succinct honesty would serve her well.

"I'm not opposed to either." Mineko said honestly, "But I think I prefer the technical work that comes with being ship-bound over the feet on the ground sort of operations. I'll do either, but I am pretty green for a black panel and am only just learning what works for me." She doubled back quickly, "I mean green as in new, not as in science-oriented! But I guess both are accurate to a degree..." The analyst intentionally closed her mouth as she clasped her hands behind her back with just as tight of a grip, regretting her spiel.

"So, the Abwehrans found life down there," Captain Aoba repeated, zooming the main screen in on the surface of the planet as Resurgence spun around it in orbit. "We can definitely do a survey, as long as it doesn't take too long. I want to run a tighter schedule this year," he explained. "There's still so many systems to visit. Places like this would also be good places for us to deploy Bisen lighthouses." Aoba then called Euikoshi down to the bridge and filled her in.

"I'd like to get a sample," Euikoshi said.

"Of course, do whatever you need...as long as it doesn't jeopardize the safety of the ship." Aoba encouraged her.

Medical Lab

Now that their patients had been treated, Poppy went to Vec and asked, "Sir, shall I release them back to duty?" She gestured to Nanook and Sanda.
