Mojo Jojo's Dojo Round Two: Fight!

Koyama continued her position changes, she listened and when she could watch the others. Although she emitted a soft chuckle at the mentions of 'Worst Case Scenario'. "Cascade failure? Your main problems at that point would indeed be survi-" she stopped mid-sentence, arched her back, and continued, "survival. With the systems down, air would not be recycled, waste heat would accumulate. If there are fires on board then your oxygen supply would be even more of an issue."

Laying on her back, Koyama brought a knee up to her chest, "However, with the Type Thirty-Six communicator, you would have shipwide comms. Volumetric projection for lighting."

Switching to her other knee, her toes curled as she stretched her other leg out. "Built-in quantum-entanglement for FTL communication for distress signals in addition to subspace. Maps, navigation, manuals including medical." rolling on to her side, she propped herself up on an elbow and rested her chin on a closed fist.

"In other words, your communicator is an invaluable tool in a life or death situation. Especially on board a starship. Being able to have a source of light, communication with other sections of the ship. Solutions may be found for the situation. Besides that, " pulling herself up, Koyama seated herself with her legs crossed and looked at the small group. "In such situations not only are the tools around you intrinsic to your survival. But also yourself."

With a shrug, she finished with, "And if your power armor's optics are damaged. What I mentioned before also applies. Your armor is a tool with many uses. I will give you a hint. A current-generation Mindy has a photonics array. If your HUD is still operational, you may be able to use your AIES and the array as an impromptu LIDAR/LADAR system. Combined with the onboard radar and you could have enough to work with to survive. Or even your radio as a primitive form of echolocation. I have heard of cases of Nepleslians who have not had corrective cybernetics installed who could click their tongue and use the sound to detect obstacles and outlines."

For her part, while Koyama had heard Sanda call the Elysian 'birdman' she'd not said a word. Until finally... "Doors magsealed. And only one scrub brush. I would also give him permission to sing."

Sanda's face turned pale underneath the blindfold, then red. She hadn't meant any disrespect. She had thought the gym was a more casual place and they had been having a friendly discussion. Apparently she had been very wrong there. She took off the blindfold, dropped the practice knife and stood at attention. "Sir. No disrespect was intended. I apologize if I have offended you in any way. I can assure you, Sir, that it will never happen again."

Sanda fought the urge to say anything more. In her teenage years she had quite a mouth on her and was constantly butting heads with authority. Even after she had joined the Star Army, which had saved her from really making a mess of her life, she had a hard time with most officers. There were few officers she genuinely liked. It seemed to her, most officers tired to be your friend, then would turn around and start chewing your head off. Mochi seemed to be just another typical officer.

Bed Chamber

Thad snapped back to reality, his eyes scanning all around the room his grip tightening down. The soft coo sound came from both sides of him. His eyes came into focus and his nerves calmed. He looked to his right, then to his left. He was getting the best of both worlds, big and little in his hands. He could not help but grin as he gave another squeeze, another soft coo rang out from them. This was nice and he was glad to be a part of it. While Thad was all for having a good time, his reason for his actions was all in the name of caring for his friends. He knew all too well how fighting could rob a person of their sense of self. If some loven helped to fight off the demons, then that is just how it had to be.

Thad did his best to get out of bed as to not wake anyone. He was in the habit of getting out of bed first to cook up a meal. After a work out, a little food could go a long way to help with recovery. Though he felt this time he was the one in need of recovery. Those Neko might be small but can make even a nep beg for mercy, not that any would be given. A grin crossed his face once more as he had hope not too many of the locals heard all the noise. Though if they did he’d only admit half truths about what really happen.

Thad made his way over to the mini fridge he had in his room. He pulled out some eggs and bacon. He popped open his little mini stove and started to cook up a meal.

Not Thad's Bedroom

Koyama held up a hand to forestall anything further. Be it from Sanda, or the Elysian officer. Seeming rather calm given the somewhat tense situation, the XO leaned forward and rested her chin on a hand as if expecting something.

"Carry on, Sanda-hei." was all she had to say on that particular situation. With a flick of an ear, Koyama eyed the blindfold. "I thought you were going to blindfight?" her curiosity seemingly piqued, an ear flicking again as the other jet-colored furry ear angled toward the three. Her eyes sparkled with amusement. Or perhaps expectation. She'd been giving Sanda a warning. Nekovalkyrja hearing was superb.

"Whomever wins can make a request of me. Within reason." as if adding incentive to the situation was even needed. "The Taii can officiate." the last was in a matter-of-fact tone.

Shuttle Bay

After he got out of his fighter, a female crew member with emerald green hair greeted him. "Welcome aboard, Brax Itto Hei. My name is Beryl Leyton, Jôtô Hei, and am the ship's chief of of supply. It's going to be great to have an actual pilot on the ship. I had to fly shuttles myself during last couple of missions. Can I help you carry your space duffebag to your cabin so you're ready to report to the captain?"

Shuttle Bay

Approached by the emerald green-haired beauty, the lady identified herself as Jôtô Hei Beryl Leyton, the ship’s chief of supply. She greeted him, welcoming a new pilot that could take the reins, he saluted her before picking up his bag as she asked if he wished for help. “I would be happy to fly the crew anywhere they wished ma’am, as for assistance carrying my bag. I can do it, I was always raised that it was impolite to have others do your work for you...I never did so on the Imperator, and I do not aim to start now. However, I would love to be shown to my bunk, and then an escort to see the captain would be most welcome.” He would say with a friendly smile and would wait for her the lady to lead him on.

Living quarters

Zanven, after being shown where he would be resting his head, would put his duffel inside of the footlocker for now before straightening up and turning back to miss Leyton. “Now that it is settled, I would like to report in before getting a lay of the ship if you do not mind.” He was still quite straight-laced, a trait that was given by his father’s side and deeply ingrained in his behavior...there was a touch of familiarity in his movements though he enjoyed being out on a ship.

Sanda was rather relieved that Koyama put further discussion to an end. "Aye Ma'am." She said and gave a final bow of respect to Mochi before slipping the blindfold over her eyes. Once her eyes were covered she slipped her foot under the practice knife and balanced it a moment before flipping it up into the air and deftly catching it with her left hand. She smiled to herself, she had often bragged she could do that blindfolded. She had just proven she could. Back in her stance, arms up, blade down and head cocked to one side she said, "Lets do this."

Yayoi had remained silent as they all spoke. The former Cyborg didn’t know what she could add to the conversation. She wasn’t as technically minded as the others in the dojo were, so she couldn’t quite follow them. Heck, she didn’t even know how her former cybernetic limb worked just that it had.

She turned to glance over as Sanda began blindfolding herself. She also realized Sanda had called Mochi, bird man, which wasn’t very respectful, but Hanako had taught her to respect those who were brave and she hadn’t quite seen his bravery yet. She did however gasp In response to Koyama’s words “I’m assuming that this Thad person is a horrible singer? “ She asked before Koyama spoke again, this time to put the conversation to an end. She moved into position after blindfolding herself, as she didn’t think it felt right to her to use her sight as an advantage over her.

Next Morning - Rec Room

The Resurgence spent the night safely docked at White Harbor and most of the crew had time off, even those who would normally have to work the night shift. The next morning, the ship was buzzing with activity as they got ready for the day. Typically every morning the ship's schedule started with exercise, which would be followed by showers and breakfast, then an hour of cleaning the ship, an inspection, a daily meeting, and then lunch. After that would be training until dinner. But today's schedule was irregular - after breakfast whoever volunteered would get to go visit the space station in search of something to put in the report to Empress Himiko about how the place was doing after the Kuvexian War.

Most of the crew was gathered in the rec room in their exercise uniforms. Euikoshi made her way over to Thad and asked him, "So, how was last night?" while holding a pad to take notes.

Chelilth held a cup of black coffee, sipping it slowly and trying to appreciate the bitter bean juice.

Pidole gave Cheilith a wave as she walked by with her little beetle doing pushups on her shoulder.

Cheilith gramiced at the bitter coffee and waved back, she had no idea why people liked this.

Sakuko started lifting some large weights. "Perhaps a return to the dojo soon," she suggested to the infantry soldiers, interested in testing her strength and skill against them.

Sanda almost lost her grip on the pull up bar as she overhead Sakuko's suggestion. Her lip had finally gone down after Yayoi had busted it by accident during that damn blind sparing that Mochi had suggested. "As long as there are no blindfolds involved." She grunted as she resumed her pullups.

"Save those for a dare party," Poppy suggested, smirking. In her exercise uniform there was a large tribal tattoo of a cat visible on her thigh and a big-haired woman's head tattooed on her left arm.

Sanda dropped from the chin up bar and dried her face with a towel. She glanced over at Poppy's tattoos and asked, "Say Poppy, never had the chance to ask before, but what are your tattoo's of?" Sanda herself was covered in a lightning bolt that went from her neck down her back, arms and legs.

"It's a cat," Poppy shrugged. "And this one is of an old-fashioned artwork I thought looked cool," Poppy explained.

"Ha ha." Sanda said dryly. "But what do they represent?"

"Beauty and pussy," Poppy laughed. She pulled her shorts down for a second to flash a third tattoo very low on her abdomen that said CUNNILINGUS right above what her shorts barely covered.

Cassie spotted this and busted out laughing from behind a punching bag she'd been using. "I am guessing it means she's into women," she translated.

"Yeah, I got the general idea." Sanda said as she rolled her eyes. "Juro que este barco me va a llevar al límite."

"Not everything has to be that deep," Poppy shrugged. "Sometimes a cake is just a cake."

Sanda looked at her own tattoos. "In my family, tattoos tell you about a person. Either who their family is or about their character. For example, my sister has a tattoo over her eye of a star. Her name literally means star, Estrella. My name, Sanda, means Thunder hince." Sanda pointed to the thunderbolt over her eye.

"Sounds like a good call-sign," Cassie noted.

"What's a dare party?" Euikoshi whispered to Cheilith, suddenly interested.

"It's where you take turns daring each other to do stuff. Fun stuff." Cheilith said.

The green-haired science girl nodded excitedly and wrote something in her notebook.

Yayoi walked out of her quarters stretching her arms as she yawns and wakes up. She spotted Sanda, and her eyes went to her lips, not in any sexual way but to look at the damage she'd accidentally did to her. She was pleased that the swelling seemed to go down causing her to relax somewhat. "morning" she said to the them and listened to the conversation..

"Aye, I like it." Sanda smiled to Cassie. She smiled at Yayoi. She didn't hold a grudge for the busted lip. At least not against her fellow Ranger. It hadn't been her idea to spare blindfolded after all. "Morning. Sleep well?"

"So who wants to explore this station?" Cassie asked everyone. "Hopefully I won't get blown up this time," she added, sounding kind of bitter about what had happened last away mission.

"Our track record for 'quiet and peaceful' is terrible." Cheilith pointed out.

Yayoi smiled and nodded to Sanda "like a youngling" she replied to her fellow Ranger, before turning her head to Cassie who spoke. "that does sound like a interesting idea, though i agree, on the whole not getting blown up thing" she said in reply.

Sanda snorted, "I didn't sign up for 'quiet and peaceful'. However, it might be nice to take in the sights. This station is suppose to be quite a place. I wouldn't mind doing some shopping."

"Oh, that's a great idea!" Cassie exclaimed. "I need to get some dresses."

Yayoi nodded her head to agree on the idea of shopping. She hadn't done that in a while and thought that shopping might do her some good including maybe getting ideas for new clothes she could volumetric.

Sanda looked confused for a second then laughed at herself. "I was thinking more of cybernetic arms and guns. But dresses sound nice too. Come to think of it, I don't think I've hardly worn anything but my uniform from the moment I enlisted. Might be nice to get something that isn't 'Cornflower blue'."

OOC: JP by @ajax @Cowboy @Charaa @Miko

Koyama had retired after the morning's fitness to shower herself taking time to thoroughly comb out her hair. She felt refreshed and more like herself now that the morning's sweat and bruises from her regime of training had passed. After yesterday's little session in the dojo and the 'blindfighting' she had begun to record a video message. To her mother. And by extension perhaps her sister. Years of silence had finally eroded her will and admonished her stubborn pride.

With a small, apologetic smile, she looked to Cassie having heard the tail end of the ongoing conversation. "I doubt explosives would be involved this time, Hei. But I am glad you are alright. Perhaps later... we can speak? " her brush with death before had weighed heavily for years and had propelled her fear of that eventual finality. In truth, Koyama thought sharing her own experience might comfort them. Perhaps that feeling of not being alone would help.

"If some of the crew are going aboard the station, would it be alright if I join?"
her gaze shifted a little to the side as if embarrassed. "There are... things I would like to buy. And as an added plus I did promise the victor of yesterday's little bout a request." arching an eyebrow she smiled.

"What better way than have your first officer spend some of her pay on whatever you want?"

Rec Room

Sanda wanted to laugh at first. Koyama was not just an officer but the XO. Did she really need to ask permission to join in? But Sanda had caught that slight shift in her gaze. It wasn't the first time the Nep Ranger had noticed it. The impression that Koyama wasn't very confidant in social settings was strengthened. I wonder if that is just her personality, or a side effect of now being royalty? Maybe she's not sure how people will treat her with her new found fame. Sanda thought to herself.

Sanda seemed to think about it a moment before shrugging. "Why not? After all, with you around we might get the Royal treatment." Sanda smiled and hoped that Koyama would get the joke. The misunderstanding from yesterday still rankled and she really didn't want to be jumped on by an officer again. But she liked Koyama and would like to consider her a friend. "Besides, I wanted to talk to you a bit about that motorbike you were planning on designing." She ran her tongue over her lip where it had been busted the day before and glanced at Yayoi. "Well, I'd say Yayoi was the victor yesterday."

Aoba's Suite

fetch.php

Captain Aoba was in his cabin just outside of the ship's bridge. It was a stately place, uncluttered and immaculately clean, with an display of ancient samurai armor and swords in one corner and a library of leatherbound books in another. He sat at an elaborate red laquered desk with inlaid gold featuring scenes of Yamataian fishing villages and intricately carved dragons curled into columns making up the desk's corners and feet. Aoba was of Asian descent and had a squarish head and had short black hair, a nice mustache, small goatee, and a short beard. His eyes were his most distinctive feature, sharp and calculating. When Zanven entered, he gave a polite nod of greeting.

Thad was working out the kinks in his body when approached by Euikoshi. He tipped his head to one side as she asked the question. He thought this seemed odd but maybe Star Army is in the business of grading everything. He just hoped they brought enough bed posts to keep count. He chuckled lightly before giving a reply. "Just another day in paradise. How about your night, anything exciting happen?" He continued to exercise while taking in the room. He was doing his part not to draw too much attention to himself. Plus he was still recovering from the after hours activity of the day before.

"Just the idea of Sanda in a dress would be a sight to behold. I got to tag along and just see where this rollercoaster is going to end up." He paused and remembered they had a royal in the group. "And I think it is time Koyama got a crown. Can't really be a royal without one. Oh and some royal panties. Cause you never know when your prince is going to show up unexpected. Best to be prepared. Just when you think you have things figured out, life throws you onto another path."

Koyama rolled her eyes in response to Sanda's joke. She'd gotten it. And hadn't responded in a wholly negative manner this time. Instead, it seemed to be treated in the same vein as a terrible pun. "I will be sure to have the carriage brought around." and with a baleful look to Thad she added: "And he can draw the carriage." while the Ranger's little joke had been taken in good stride, Thad's had fallen well below flat and straight into hell. A hand came up to stop him, "As for you, several of the crew have reported the smell of bacon coming from your cabin. You would not be cooking in there would you?"

Tearing the look from the tall Nepleslian-SOL half-breed she looked to Yayoi. The look was replaced with a more pleasant expression. "If you were the victor. Then that means you may make a request of me. Within reason of course as a reward for performing well. And with no hard feelings between the two of you afterward." Koyama looked back and forth between the two women.

Then expressly to Sanda, "Also, Sanda-hei. You mean Maximus-hei's weight set?" letting that hang for a moment her mirth clear as day. "We can speak along the way or later. Your choice. I have ideas in mind already that may work well with your style. But, I would also like to hear your own as well."

The XO took several steps back to better see the two of them, "The Taii's idea was a good one. And I hope it helped you get a feel for one another." with a nod of approval to the two she clasped her palms together over her stomach and rubbed them together. "And while he has not offered a reward, I have and I mean to stick to my promise." nodding to Yayoi at that.

"So, what would you like?"

Having been brought to Captain Aoba’s suite was an entirely different matter as he thought he would be meeting on the bridge to discuss his duties so as such Zanven was on his best behavior. A quick scan of the room revealed the ornate ancestral armor and swords displayed proudly while at another corner he was a large bookshelf with physical books, relics of the past...but still the extensive collection was a sight to behold. When Zanven was greeted he entered the quarters and saluted to his Commanding Officer. “Greetings Captain, Aoba. Itto Hei Zanven Brax. Pilot, reporting for duty.” He said calmly and powerfully as he stood at attention, but the most noticeable thing about this was not that he stood there, but that he was practiced, and it was a part of his character, not a nervous tick that recruits tend to have when first stepping onto a ship.

"At ease," said captain Aoba. "I am your commanding officer, Aoba Kuranosuke. Welcome aboard the Resurgence, Zanven. We have much work to do. It may look like we're just wandering around the Kikyo Sector on a tour but we are doing a survey for the Empress herself and we also have to form this new crew into a cohesive fighting unit. I understand that you are a pilot? A good pilot? Is that why you joined the Resurgence? We need your skills, Zanven. When we send away teams we will need someone to provide transportation or air support. You'll find the ship has a good selection of craft available. I look forward to working with you. I am glad you have already made yourself at home here. I trust you'll continue to work with the other crew members to make yourself useful." He was an experienced officer with a calm, collected voice and his eyes were hard, sharp as though he was always in a fight and had won every last one.

"Thank you, sir." He said as he was put at ease and he rolled his shoulders, the captain introduced himself and Zanven nodded at the fact that they had a lot of work to do. He knew that the Resurgence was a special ship and a powerful one at that and that he was doing the work of the Empress herself. When Capt. Aoba said that he understood that he was a pilot, Zanven answered with a tight nod of acknowledgment. When asked again if he was a good pilot, Zanven did not doubt himself and nodded once more. Then when he was told that his skills were needed for transport, support, or both...filling him in on the craft available and that he was looking forward to working with the Itto Hei, and that he was glad that Zanven had already made himself at home and that he trusted him to work with the other crew and to be useful Zanven smiled. "Sir, I will tell you that I scored top marks in all flight training, and have had experience as medical staff as you well know. I do not doubt my skills and I will make sure that I am put to good use.. Anything else for me sir, when is the next assignment, or is there anything I can do?" He asked, he was eager, but from what he was brought up to speed on, with the mission packet in his computer...they were on shore leave for now and in between missions.

Sanda smiled and laughed at Koyama's suggestion. Although the big lug would probably love showing off his strength pulling them all around in a carriage. She was quite relieved to see Koyama humor and was becoming very excited about this motorbike the XO kept hinting at. Although Sanda wouldn't be surprised if Koyama's humor included a set of handlebars on the underside of the bike so Thad could seriously use it as a workout machine as well.

Sanda smiled at Yayoi. Even though she hated being bested in anything, loosing to a friend made it a little easier because she could feel excited for a friend. Even better was the fact that Sanda had learned several things from their sparing that would make her a better fighter, which was always her goal. "Go one, girl. How often do you get a chance like this?" Sanda said to Yayoi.

"The next assignment will be in a couple of days," Aoba told Zanven. "In the meantime, please get to know your fellow crew members, especially those you will be working closely with, like the infantry soldiers you'll support. We don't have a pilot section on the ship due to our small size, so f you have any questions, please direct them to my first officer. That's all for now. You are dismissed."

Beryl Leyton was waiting for him outside the door and helped him find his way around the ship. Eventually he ended up in the recreation room and Beryl left him to start a practice fight with Sakuko, which didn't work out that well for her because Sakuko knocked her on her ass in seconds and hit so hard that when Beryl tried to stand up she wobbled sideways and crashed back into the training mats. "Auuugh!"

"Exciting night?" Euikoshi smiled at Thad, "I just helped Pidole with some sensitive calibrations. You really should let me observe and record you next time. I love to gather data, you know. Intense, repeated learning is the only way one can become an expert," she told him. "I love finding what makes people tick, what's going on in their minds, and where their limits are. If you want to really learn about someone you have to take them out of their comfort zone and put them in situations where they're forced to make choices. That's why I joined the Star Army. As astronauts in a dangerous universe, we always have to adapt to new situations that will test us just like I like to test people and ideas." She ran her hands through her green hair and winked at him before walking away.

Showers

Once everyone had got their fill of exercise it was time to hit the showers. Pidole led the way, peeling off her sweat-soaked T-shirt and tight volleyball shorts with her fist-sized blue beetle loudly buzzing overhead with a fluttering sound. It grabbed a bar of soap in its six legs and followed her to the shower. Euikoshi came in afterward, grabbed Pidole's shorts, exhaled deeply, and took a big whiff and made a satisfied "Mmm!" before getting undressed and joining Pidole, who just kind of stared at Euikoshi quietly while the perverted science girl fawned over her.

"Calibrations, hmm?" Poppy giggled, trying not to bust out laughing. She was pretty sure Euikoshi was just obsessed with Pidole as her plaything and Pidole was enjoying passively receiving the attention. It wasn't like Poppy disapproved, she just found it amusing. This crew definitely knew how to keep themselves entertained during downtime. She recalled the recent train trip to Ketsurui no Iori, includin her little fling with Kalena and how Euikoshi had cheered up Cassie. Poppy grabbed as shower stall as well and got cleaned up, hungry to get breakfast.

Yayoi was once again in silent observation mode as she observed the surrounding interaction. Her attention went to Koyama, who requested permission to join them. She was also reminded that she did offer any request to the victor of yesterday’s bout, which Sanda said was her win. Yayoi tends to not dwell on things like victories, so she pretty much forgot it had been she who had won.

She chuckled at Sanda’s joke of getting the royal treatment due to Koyama’s presence. Her hand moved up to cover it, as Koyama followed along with Sanda’s joke, and about the possibility of making Thad pull it for them. “I must admit, your idea is an interesting one, ma’am,” she said, as she couldn’t help but think of Thad’s words. She chuckled before speaking “I have to admit I have many ideas for requests. I think I should take some time to think them over and be sure that they’d be appropriate.” She said to her.
