Sirris VI - Obsidian City -------> Guardian Hospital
The hospital had been quiet for almost a month, the passing of Lady Sarah, having brought a depressing morbidness to the doctors and staff. Of course they hid it well, their patience only getting smiles and casual attitudes as they received some of the best care that the New Dusk Conclave had to offer. Things were perhaps settling into normalcy again, but there was a busy buzz about the workers. The Lord himself had arranged an appointment personally to them, and entrusted them to succeed in a challenge. Removal of a full SHAM system from a young woman who had the corrupted piece of war craft shoved into her body with no regard of ethics. A terrible act that, for better, or worse. Was going to be undone today, to give Sonia Argentum a chance at a normal life.

She sat in the lobby, nervous as hell, the only comfort being the young woman she loved beside her on a stool. Her hand gently rested atop Adi's, waiting with baited breath as the doctors took their sweet time. The blonde girl looked down at the tattoos that ran up and down the entirety of her hard, the scar from initial implantation running down the middle of her arm as a reminder of the thing inside her that made her a weapon. Her skeleton was encased in metal, her joints partially replaced with mechanical imitations that bared more strength then normal flesh. With great strength and no control, it made her weary and scared of hurting those she loved. And that was why she had accepted the lord's offer, so she could live without free, and embrace the woman she loved without fear.

Busy day, very busy day. Paperwork and other miscellaneous jobs had kept Aras away from the front of the medical floor, spending most of her free time with her child, and spending her workload simply trying to get herself unburdened. But today was different, as after a seeming break in her paper trails, she was requested for an operation. A very complicated operation, one she should have had days, if not weeks, of preparation for. She ran her organic fingers through her hair, as she read off a datapad in her cybernetic ones. Full SHAM removal on a compromised subject.

The woman walked into the hospital with her cheeriest smile, which in the end just ended up looking tired, and moved to the edge of the lobby. She would walk up to the front desk, and speak to the accountant behind it. Maybe she was forgetting something, or maybe she was just a bit tired, but she simply could not remember which location she was supposed to do this in.
"Uh, Hello? I was told to come in for an operation today, but I cannot seem to remember which room it will be taking place in."
She said in a voice only just over a whisper, hoping not to disturb the others in the lobby.

Adi's antennae heard the whisper at the front desk, and she looked at Sonia. She was a little nervous herself, she wasn't sure what was going to happen to her girlfriend. She took the hand that was laying on top of hers and whispered "Sonia... I think... I think it's happening soon..." She discretely pointed to the front desk with her long tail. She would be excited that Sonia would be able to do so many more things with her, but she was too nervous to be. What if something went wrong? What if the surgery didn't succeed? What if Sonia died?! She tried to hide her uneasiness but she couldn't, and she felt guilty because she wasn't supposed to make her girlfriend more nervous.

"What? Oh, uh yeah cool,....please let this be over quick. Adi, I'm honestly nervous, but thank you for being here beside me, it means so much." Sonia replied slowly as if breaking from a trance, giving her girlfriend a peck of her lips on the butterfly girl's temple. After, the young blonde woman sat in her seat just a tad higher to look over the heads of those also seated in the lobby, looking towards the reception desk to see what Adi had. Sonia gave her a sympathetic smile as she looked back, seeing the signs of her unease. "Hey. Everything is going to be fine okay. They'll fix things, replace whatever needs replacing, and I'll be good as new. Just like changing a light bulb....just like...a light bulb. Then you and I, we can cuddle, hug, and I'll be able to hold you as well as sit on that soft lap of yours." she said, sounding a bit like she may have a few doubts as well that were unvoiced.

Aras would sigh at the lack of response, it seems everyone was busy these days. Rather then raise her voice and ask again, and hoping to not cause a distraction, she just pulled out her datapad and looked over the surgery's paperwork. She found the room number after a moment of searching and walked into the surgical wing of the hospital, moving to the room that this thing was supposed to happen in. She had no idea if she was supposed to bring the patient in, or just wait for someone else to do it. God, it had been too long since she had done this, she was practically rusty at this point.

The woman would equip a set of medical scrubs, as was common, but kept the mask off for now; she had no idea if she would be talking to the patient. No, rather, she just looked around the room, hoping for a second surgeon or nurse to talk to, or someone to tell her what to do. As it was, she still didn't think she was good enough to do this on her own, which was most likely correct when it came down to it.

"I-I know..." Adi said to Sonia, trying to hide her worry. "I'll be here for you... No matter what..." she said, taking Sonia's hand as she sat on her raised stool, which was higher than Sonia's seat. "I know you're strong... e-even without the SHAM..." However, her nervousness caused the red fur on her long tail to poof up, making her tail very fluffy. She looked at her lap after Sonia mentioned it, which was content sitting where it was on the stool, resisting her urge to get up and pace around- that, and also she wanted to stay with Sonia for as long as she could. So she sat on the raised stool, holding Sonia's hand, hoping everything would turn out alright.

The room was a metallic grey, screens on manipulator arms spaced about to show patient vitals and data, as well as a plethora of instruments on mechanized arms as well. Wheeled carts sat beside the gel bed that sat in the center of the room among the technological jungle of medical systems. The bed was in a gyro-rotation adjustable frame, designed to be automatically rotated and turned as the doctor needed, even capable of turning over for access to the patient's back. Injection systems were attached to it's underside to administer drugs as needed.

"Miss Aras, a medical team is still assembling based on qualification and position. The patient is however still waiting. Please retrieve patient and prepare for surgical operation. I will be here to help direct the operation, as well as provide needed information. I am E.V.E. 4899-1D, but you may call me Gale." came a synthetic female voice from the speakers of the surgical ward.

"That's more then I could ask for. I wish Seara could be here as well, but she's out on duty somewhere, so I haven't been able to get any messages through," Sonia admitted as they continued to wait, "Adi, I love you. I feel like I can't say that enough, and we've been through a lot together, so I just want to say you are the one person I would do anything for. To grow old with someday maybe, and you know, spend every minute of my day with. You make me happy, something I hadn't felt in a long time before meeting you." The young woman conveyed this with eyes that began to moisten slightly, thinking of how much her life had improved when this beautiful butterfly had stepped into her life.

Oh, a robotic assistant. That was rather nice, and certainly helpful. She decided to ask a few questions of her own before complying to it's requests however.
"Oh, why, yes, that is a good idea. How long is it expected to take the team to be assembled? If not incredibly soon, it could be a good idea to invite her, and anyone she's with in to ask questions. Is that against protocals?"
Look at her, being forced to ask simple questions like that, she really was out of touch. It never hurt to ask however, she thought to herself. She waited patiently for a response from the construct, knowing that assuring the patient of their questions would be a good way to increase confidence and hopefulness.

"And I love you too, Sonia," Adi said to her girlfriend. "You saved me, you make me feel safe, and you always have a way to make me feel happy..." Adi smiled at Sonia with her red eyes, holding her hand and similarly considering how much better Sonia made her life. "Sometimes I wonder if... i-if I can ever give back enough to thank you..."

WARD
"There are no social protocols for prior to surgery. The team will finish assembly in twenty minutes, so interaction with the patient is recommended. Sonia Argentum is located towards the rear of the waiting room, and is accompanied by Adi Pine. If you wish to interact with the patient, it is recommended to do so now." the AI informed from the speakers once more.

LOBBY
"Adi, all I could ever ask is to have you with me. To have you in my life and in my arms is more then enough." Sonia replied back with a smile of her own, "Once things are all said and done here, we'll have all the time cuddle."

["Sonia Argentum, the doctor will be by to see you shortly and escort you to ward1."]

She looked up as the synthetic female voice made the announcement, "Not too much longer now."

Aras nodded slightly before walking out of the room once more, returning to the lobby for a second time. She would stand at the door for a long moment, trying to come up with words to say. The conversation before the operation was always tense, with the results having such intense consequences. She would take a deep breath, scratch her arm a slight bit, and step on through the door.
"Hello? Could I see a miss Sonia Argentum?"
She would ask into the lobby, despite most likely being able to single them out herself with a bit of effort.

Adi shuddered when she heard the light blonde's name called, which made the shorter girl's curves jiggle a bit. "I-I-I guess it's t-time..." Adi whispered to Sonia. She wriggled off the raised stool, scooting off the front and now standing on her legs. Adi quietly waited for Sonia to get up and respond to the doctor.

"Yo doc, over here. You uh ready for me?" Sonia called back as she stood herself, taking Adi's hand as she began to walk towards Aras. The merc girl's stride was deceivingly confident and calm, despite her own buried fears about the possibilities of something going wrong. But the familiar soft hand in her's, acted as a sort of security blanket.

Aras nodded quickly, looking to the two approaching her with her best attempt at looking confident.
"Well, the surgical team may take some time to assemble, but yes, I am here for your surgery."
She says, with a very feint smile on her face. With an extended hand, Aras gestures to the hallway that leads further back into the facility. She speaks once more in a less confident tone of voice.
"Would you two like to come back and speak before the operation?"

To be honest, she had figured the "surgical team" would and should have been ready way sooner. It was disconcerting, but maybe it was just her nerves, however in either case, a change of scene might help. Though....maybe a medical surgery ward was not the best choice for such.

"I personally would like to yes, it beats sitting in this lobby any longer. I have one question first though. Will my girlfriend be able to watch the operation from some sort of observation deck, or will she have to wait in a waiting area during the operation?" Sonia asked after looking to Adi and giving her hand a reassuring rub. Again it was more for her, but she didn't want the butterfly girl to be scared for her. One of them had to be brave right? This was basically the surgery like the one that gave her the cursed upgrade, but in reverse.....and hopefully far more pleasant. Hopefully pain meds woulds actually be used this time around, not that she doubted they wouldn't.

"I don't think so, sadly. I fear that the surgery may be a touch too graphic for them to let someone else watch. I'm terribly sorry."
She began facing towards the ground as she spoke not wanting to look her patient in the eyes as she elaborated.
"She can come into the surgery room until we begin the operation however, and we can go over what will happen."
She hoped this may please them somewhat, but she knew from personal experience that seeing a loved one get sliced open, even if it was for a good reason. It was better to be nervous about a bad outcome then having the possibility of seeing it happen.

"O-oh..." Adi said, sad because she wouldn't be able to be there nearby for her girlfriend during the surgery but understanding. The wall-climbing bones in the hand Sonia was holding seemed to be feeling around and clinging to Sonia's hand, feeling like a slight tickle, but her fingers weren't visibly moving. "U-um..." the bug princess whimpered quietly, "I'd l-like to stay with S-Sonia until the surgery starts..."

"She stays with me until surgery start then...please."

The tickle was more comforting then she could hope for, the feeling another sign that even at the smallest level Adi loved her. It was revelations like that, and moments like this when the girl she loved being by her side. Well it gave her a reason to stand upright without worry everyday. The blonde continued to rub Adi's hand, "Please lead the way doctor."

Aras turned on her heel and faced into the surgical wing of the facility, taking the first steps in. She would look back to check to see if the two were following her, and continue forth once she saw that they were. As she continued walking down the hallway, not yet talking to the patient and her companion, and instead thought silently to herself. She hoped deep down that this operation was a success, it would certainly be very hard to give the news if it didn't. These two seemed rather close after all, and she knew they wouldn't react well to being separated.

After a few moments of talking she would reach the door of the room the surgery was set to happen in, and opened the door for the other two to file into.

Adi waddled into the room, with her hand clinging to Sonia's. She nervously gazed around the room, the equipment inside brought back bad memories of when she was kidnapped. She held Sonia's hand as she stared at all the equipment, scared, and she nervously asked "H-how long i-is it going to be u-until I can s-s-see her again?"
