Nepleslian News Network Technological Swap-out? Shades Lame, Visors Are In! AwesomeCorp & NAM Negotiating!

Everyone's favorite news anchor flashes on in their local bar, bunk, or gang hideout; fresh-faced and youthfully vigorous as ever, there's even a new jingle for her opening segment of the Nepleslian Prime morning broadcast.

"Hey everybody! We got some news for you! How many of you recall our dashing Admiral of the Exploration-oriented fleet in the NSN? I know we don't normally talk about that boring stuff in favor of war updates on the Kuvexian affair in Yamatai or the brief skirmishes, or how-... sorry. Point is, you viewers out there have probably seen or heard about our visually-impaired Admiral Julia Brisk. Her charming son fashioned her a visor that allowed her to regain her vision without any cybernetic enhancement or replacement surgeries."

For a moment, the woman glances over at the side of the stage. She gives a deathly glare at someone off stage, shaking her head and mouthing "no" at whoever or whatever it is. After a few more moments of glaring, she turned back to the camera and an image of the Admiral was projected on the screen just behind her.

"Her son hasn't come out saying anything but our investigative team noticed some funky amounts of cash being tossed his way as-of-late. The source, you say? Open transaction records from the one-and-only AwesomeCorp! Their handy gadgets are distinctively Nepleslian in style and sold for tons of profit all over. Their workers and staff aren't terribly numerous but the company is responsible for supporting employees as well as our grand nation in every facet a corporation can!"

"But," she interjects, raising a hand. "This is just part of the story: with a breaking scoop even before our catly neighbors, our investigative team was sent many spam-bordering messages by none other than-"

"Phil. Nates!"

The poor reporter's camera is blocked by a thin, almost ghastly man barging onto the set. Her eyes glower into his back as he steps slowly back, clasping at two suspenders. His outfit was positively archaic, yet the bands of his suspenders popped loose and released a hologram over his face. The tech branch leader of AwesomeCorp hadn't been seen in years but now he was sporting a face-concealing visor just like that of the Admiral on the screen; the difference was gold material and green-lit visual sensory slit running across it.

"Yes, you guessed it! AwesomeCorp and NAM have been communicating and working out the fine details of borrowing that genius' brain! Arris Brisk is still too young to legally work, but his advanced understanding in the fields of neurology and optometry is already far greater than the normal non-synthetically produced species or intelligence! Those Arms and Manufacturing grunts have been looking for alternatives that are cheaper to produce and less hazardous than cybernetic replacement, so his visor was ideal in this! In the near future, look forward to the AwesomeCorp Augmented Visionary Assistant! Our spiritual successor to the Smart Specs, rolling out in Nepleslia first and other markets later! We've even got a service branch version - the one I'm wearing - getting prepared for any soldiers out there. Use it for shooting, binoculars, smart device-replacement and even just to see your fingerprints! Its features are near limitless!"

Although his surge of energy had been spat out quickly, subtitles were placed on the side to at least give some means to understand him. It helped mask the familiar Nepleslian News Network anchor slip out from behind the desk and sneak her way over, grabbing the camera-hog by the collar just before the broadcast cut.
