I have a few ideas that might work as a stop-gap to improve the defense of our star systems. If the Guriddo Defense System were applied with the FM-16 Blink Tactics Manual, it would be possible to have defensive squadrons of Kyouheki Defense Platforms patrolling outside the star system ready to employ such tactics in place of more versatile gunships. Nesuto Docking Platforms would be a rallying point for squadrons that would operate in shifts, covering each others' ingress and egress into and from the star system to defend against ambush. If an enemy drops from FTL and proceeds into the star system, the squadron on-duty can promptly flank them when the enemy is sufficiently trapped in STL by the star system's gravity boundary. If enough warning is secured of attack, the whole system can mobilize. Once the large targets have been sufficiently tenderized, "Suzumebachi" Attack Drones can be deployed to help focus smaller enemy forces into the Kyouheki's firing line or otherwise assist in their intended role.

Modifications to make this possible would be the reconfiguration of their existing CFS to allow the needed consecutive low-FTL jumps (need not be efficient, the engineers can probably pull it off without many changes), and the addition of Xiulurium coating to bring it into full compliance with the standards of its Type 31 Electronic Warfare Suite to decrease its visibility to the enemy. Though the coating would increase the cost of the craft to an overall small degree and would be a secondary consideration to increase effectiveness rather than a prerequisite, the platform is otherwise ideal from a cost and armament viewpoint.

The automated "Suzumebachi" Attack Drones, automated Kuma T8 Shuttles, and perhaps other small, obsolesced FTL-capable equipment can also have a role until more suitable alternatives can be found. Simply put, proper placement would allow for FTL ramming tactics against the enemy and limit their freedom of navigation. They are far from perfect for the role, but they are at least something we can field here and now. These tactics can also be merged together to have on-duty Kyouheki deploy some of their Suzumebachi for such tactics as a prelude to an expected enemy invasion to soften enemy fleets before actual combat.

I request feedback and adjustment of the idea as needed, and hope this can keep some of our holdings safe with the infrastructure and designs that we already have in place.
