Trigger Warnings Available

Hi Star Army!

18+ forums, which allow for adult content to be posted, now have the ability to optionally add a trigger warning to the post. I've implemented this using the Xenforo 2 custom thread fields option, similarly to how RP forums now ask for the location and date of the RP.

Here's what it looks like:

Triggers are available for abuse, torture, rape, and self-harm. Additional types of warnings can be added later if we think they're a good idea.

Any thread tagged with one of these warnings will show it at the start of the thread, allowing people who are averse to these subject matters to more easily avoid them.

just doing the rounds on the site and thought i'd pop in... wasn't there a whole big commotion about Rape being featured in ERP only a few months/half year ago that ended badly? I don't think I paid enough attention to that thread to remember the outcome but I do recall it lasting a while with a lot of input from other users.

Yes there was, I was one of the main advocates of this becoming a feature, given rape porn is technically illegal in a good portion of countries - we'd prefer people not to stumble across one with no tags.

Since then the people who were against any sort of flag on NTSE have left, mostly the Vekimen supporters.

Rape was heavily discussed given there were some site users who had IRL experiences with such issues they didn't want to be reminded of, though the community voted to keep it for better or worse. Thankfully that's all ancient history and we have this solution to put an end to that.
