What is the Status of Character Art

In the wiki article: Plot Audit, it says that character artwork is still required. Is this still the case? Are the admins still paying for artwork?

Personally I got shortchanged due to a new guy flaking on us, but I am fine with that. I would just like to know in order to clear things up for me, as well as the new people.

Now that Wes has instituted the new policy to require players to commission their own art due to his own financial situation, will the requirement for character art be removed from the plot audit checklist?
