With all 28 rangers in the troop bay, there was plenty of room for everyone to bounce around and still be unlikely to hit another person inside. Asleif stood near the rear hatch. "Remember everyone, we've less than a day to set down and get to the target, blow it to hell, and get the hell out." She said, looking over her teams. "It's a good thing SAINT sent us the intel about that radar post in the bay next to the base. It does mean we'll be approaching on foot. If we can take out the supply storage hangers, and then the power system, then we can get a ride right on out." She said, surmising the briefing they'd already sat through.

The view screens showing the exterior revealed a large deciduous forest underneath. Soon the shuttle began to flare out over a clearing as close as they could risk getting to the base. The ramp began to open. "Alright Rangers! Let's do this!" Asleif barked, exiting the craft and bringing her SAR41 up and ready to fight.

Ryu exited behind the Shosa and assumed a defensive position, kneeling on one knee. He watched his surroundings as a part of him took in the scenery. It wouldn't hurt to appreciate the finer things in life as he waited for the rest of the Rangers to file out and make their way to the base.

One nice thing was he got to travel around and see all kinds of alien landscapes. The other nice thing was he got to legally murder sentient life forms that dare threatened the Empire. Not as nice as the travel, but having the responsibility to know who will die and who shouldn't die was decent.

Lucas had rolled his shoulders a few time on the ride down, enjoying the flexibility of the new suits they all wore, a very nicely designed rig indeed. That thought was quickly stowed away in his mind though as they made the drop, his boots carrying him the interior to the grassy dirt below. Spreading out from the craft as they all exited, the preacher now part hunter, waved for his troops to take formation as practiced. He couldn't help but smile to see them moving as one, doing as they had been trained to do, and working as a unit.

Once they were all on the ground and any additional equipment unloaded, the Iroma gave a hand signal to Asleif as he gave a brief point to point on the comms. "Shosa, all boots are on the ground, and we're ready to move out to point alpha.", he communicated, before hand signalling his scouts to prepare to take point.

With the teams beginning the hike, Asleif took a long breath as she paused a moment to reference her map to make sure the platoon was moving the right way. So far there'd be hardly any Kuvie patrols, much less presence out here. Probably so confident in their security to detect anything coming to the planet first that they didn't bother with anything else. Was the small mercies that helped everyone. Except the Kuvies. "Jôtô Arturius, send Sparrowhawk to swing to the north, and Shikra to swing south. Tell Shikra to be extra careful, as they'll be approaching from open water, and close to the radar post. If Shikra think they can hit it, have them disable the radar. If not, have them attempt a port landing of the main compound." She said, seeing that they were close neough that breaking up from a single platoon into their respective squads was the best move right now.

[Ittô Hei Elenor Herrick]
Climbing a tree, Elenor was serving as Goshawk's scout. She was the senior-most Farseer (not hard being there was only two of them), and so was the point. She had her binos up and was examining the enemy compound as best she could from this far out. She could make out the area with it's complexes and the perimeter wall. It looked like the compound was sheltered on the north and east by tall mountains, though the north were definitely less rough, sheltered from approach from the south by the large bay that had several islands, one of which housed the large sensor tower that had them in a hurry. And the west approach had a 5 meter tall, and at least 2 meter thick wall she could see from here. It also seemed to house several heavy cannons that were currently unpowered, to judge by their barrels pointing down at a firm 65 degree angle. There was a large gate, leading to a large flat field that looks to serve as a landing field for various, likely large, craft to move supplies around.

"Count is 4 cannons, unpowered by appearance. Unable to ID any personnel along perimeter. Compound looks to be unalert. I count 5, potentially more hangers that I can observe several haulers of medium size moving crates in, out, and around. No sign of power plant, or admin compound." Elenor reported, directly to the team leader, and by extension, the Shosa and Lucas.

If the rangers continued their current pace, they'd be there easily in an hour or two, depending on how fast and hard the Shosa wanted them to be.

Being the RTO for the Rangers, Ryu remained close to the command team. No scouting for him, but he was quite observant of his surroundings as any proper ranger should always do. Though he did wish he had the equipment to monitor for enemy comm traffic. He would love to passively try to break their encryption and try to listen in.

Kioko was as silent and immovable as stone as the shuttle descended to the planet. But if her body was as still as it could be, her mind wasn't that still.

She was heading into the field.

And her sister was up there, only kilometers afar, watching her.

She had been trained to work and perform at her best under pressure, she reminded herself.

She would show Setsuya she could be as good as she was. If not more.

Only the slight tightening on the hand holding her rifle could be a tell tale of her mind rushing.

As they landed she would follow the group of rangers, silent but with all her attention focused on the mission. There was no more space for doubts now. She kept an eye both on their surrounding as well as on her own team to see how they performed and behaved.

"Hai Shusa, I will relay at once.", came back the Iroma's quick yet concise reply before keying the two squads. "Sparrowhawk is going to come around on the objective from a northern approach, meanwhile, Shikra will approach cautiously from a south bound vector. Shikra is to remain vigil on their advance, as you'll be encountering a radar array along your path. Eliminate if possible, but if the risk is too high, proceed to bypass from there by a port approach. You have your orders, and you know what needs to be done, now begin your advances."

Satisfied to see them beginning to move off in their assigned directions, Lucas keyed the Shusa one more time, "Shusa, orders are relayed and we are beginning our respective approaches. We'll keep comms activity to a minimum as we go."

"Good. Let's get moving." She says, turning to Ryu. "Tell our forward to move up. Keep an open eye out on the enemy compound though. We get the unenviable job of hitting the enemy's front door." She instructed, before doing as she herself had instructed, and beginning to lead Goshawk forward towards their objective. The enemy compound continued to remain unalert, so they were able to get closer and closer to the facility. Close enough to to being able to hear the sound of the equipment running the base. No alarms seemed to be going, since it was likely they'd be heard all the way out here as the team reached the edge of the forest.

"Get me a sitrep on the other teams." She said, focused on the gate, and thinking of how the heck they were supposed to get through it.

[Ittô Hei Elenor Herrick]
Meanwhile, having gotten the order to move up from the RTO, Elenor was basically easing her way through the open grasslands in front of hte gate, her focus being to get close enough without alerting the enemy. If she could manage it, she'd see about opening the entry for the team even as the other two squads were working on their end of things.

Masamune nodded his head before placing his left hand on the side of the helmet. Not like he really needed to do it in order to hear clearly, but he didn't have anything to do with that hand really. "RTO to Scouts, move forward but cautiously to the compound and report your findings immediately to Ranger Actual." He then paused and switched the sub-frequency the Squad leaders were using.

"RTO to Squads 1 and 3, what is your sitrep?" Masamune asked on behalf of the Shosa.

With some small trouble, the mission was a sound success. The supply station was left a pile of rubble. While they had managed to get a signal out, the compound was gone. It would of course take time before the effect of this reached out into the rest of the conflict.
