Charlie Coast is a played by Kampfer.
|Current Placement:||Nepleslia Prime|
Build and Skin Color: Charlie Coast is a tall, lanky Nepleslian who has a slightly tanned complexion. This is a result from the mixture of Caucasian and Hispanic parents.
Eyes and Facial Features: He has round, brown eyes and a constant Five O'Clock Shadow around his chin. Coast has a thin, almost sallow face. His skin in not pale, which makes for a very strange contrast.
Ears: He has normal human ears.
Hair Color and Style: Coast has his greying brown hair shorn into a crew cut.
Personality: Charlie Coast is best described as a bitter, cold-hearted, merciless commander. He is not a commander favored by the troops for his warm personality or concern for the troops. Instead, he is praised by all as an aggressive commander who achieves results. In turn, he lays out credit where credit is due, making a harsh but fair taskmaster.
None of his rewards, however, endear him to the men. They serve under him because they are willing to risk their lives for Nepleslia under an Admiral with a high rate of success. They can abide by his tactics because they are well-trained and enjoy its execution. Nonetheless, casualty rates during 3rd Fleet operations tend to be higher than other Fleets.
Part of the reason for this is the unbending aggression in Charlie Coast. He cannot abide being on the defense. He must be on the attack to be in his element. The Star Military of the Democratic Imperium of Nepleslia 3rd Marine Shaik "Thunder Chiefs" are well known as ruthless, tough and disciplined soldiers. While they are often seen unkempt with uniforms in poor repair or adorned with non-standard additions, they follow the doctrine of Lightning War set out by Admiral Coast. With tanks and power armor, they crush the enemy's weakest point, flowing through it and letting supporting units deal with any pockets of resistance. Should they encounter something too difficult to crush immediately, both Fleet and Marine elements simply bypass it or avoid it so as to surround, cut off and then destroy the enemy.
Charlie Coast's wife died early in their marriage, when Charlie Coast was a mere ship's captain in YE 29. She was pregnant with their first child but health complications led to her death. Even the best medical minds could not save her. The daughter was stillborn. His wife's family never forgave him. This left Charlie Coast with only the Navy.
So, with all of his energy channeled into the cause of Nepleslia, Charlie Coast rose rapidly in the ranks of the Star Military. Charlie Coast was a Rear Admiral during the Kennewes Offensive. He served with distinction, commanding a squadron of DD4 Destroyers against Red Faction strike force of Vampire and Oberon escorts.
His extremely aggressive tactics shocked the Reds and won the day in his sector. While his ships were all damaged, the local Reds forces were routed, allowing supporting squadrons to exploit the breach in the Reds defenses that he had made. Following the end of the campaign, Charlie Coast was promoted to Admiral and continued to serve with distinction in the pursuit of any remaining organized Red resistance.
With the formation of 3rd Assault Fleet "Wolf Pack" in YE 30, Admiral Charlie Coast was considered to be the best man for the job and was raised to the rank of Grand Admiral. He accepted command of the new Fleet and, knowing the philosophies of his brother Grand Admirals, tailored 3rd Fleet into a raiding Fleet.
During the Second Mishhu War, 3rd Fleet was involved in supporting 4th Fleet and conducting hit and run raids on NMX supply routes. It is well-known that 3rd Fleet Marines take no prisoners. Reports indicate, though do not confirm, that this is a result from the simple solution that 3rd Fleet Marines execute the prisoners they take. Considering the nature of Charlie Coast and the enemies he fights, no one in Nepleslia has given much thought to the matter. On the few occasions when he has been called to account for his fleet's complete absence of prisoners, Admiral Coast responded with evasive answers that showed he had little interest in taking prisoners.
