In personality, Dirj closely resembles a grouchy old man. He does not speak overmuch, and rarely, if ever, condescends to actually chat with someone. His friends are few, and he makes them slowly; mostly through lack of effort on his part, combined with a stand-offish attitude that sends all but the friendliest quickly on their way. His sense of humor, while not non-existant, is rather pathetic. He does not enjoy socializing. His vernacular reflects his current feelings; in other words, the fouler his mood, the fouler his mouth. Basically, as a doctor, his skills are unquestionable, yet his bedside manner is abhorrant.
Likes: Good food, topiary.
Dislikes: Nekovalkyrja, social interaction, jokes at his expense.
Dirj began life as a Geshrin civilian, running an unsuccessful family practice on Yamataia. He blamed his failure on the increasing numbers of all-too-perfect Nekovalkyrja, though the fault more likely lies in his own prickly demeanor. Nonetheless, he has nursed somewhat of a grudge against Nekovalkyrja, in general, which only worsened when his failing livlihood forced him into the military. The Geshrin model had become quite obsolete by now, however, fortunately the NH-22 Yamataian had been recently made available, providing a viable alternative to the Nekovalkyrja that Dirj had come to nearly loathe. Despite his predjudices, however, Dirj performs his duties to the best of his ability. It is mainly his somewhat abrasive personality that has kept him out of favor with his superiors and thusly kept him from promotion.
