Build and Skin Color: Kaname is porcelain-skinned, and is closer to an hourglass figure than anything else. She looks thin - and more than a little fragile.

Facial Features and Eye Color: Kaname has a perfectly proportioned face with a small chin. Her eyes are a ferocious dark orange

Hair Color and Style: Kaname has long black hair she arranges into a bun.

Distinguishing Features: Her eyes, and her bun. Kaname on her own is very memorable - she's constantly leaning in during conversation, or doing work. She's intensely interested in whatever she's doing, with few exceptions.

Personality: Kaname is, in a word, “excitable”. She doesn't bounce off of walls during a playdate, she doesn't yell at the top of her lungs (consistently), but instead she has a rather unnerving focus on anything she's doing. “Tunnel-Vision Kaname” was her nickname during her first few months, and she still suffers from this “affliction” today. When she was assigned her current occupation, she thought it was due to her ability to sit for hours plinking away at a keyboard. Despite this behavior, she's reserved, and timid. She may be very interested in whatever you're saying - but it would be hard to get more than a couple of words out of her. Her most frustrating experiences are when this behavior is turned against her, or when people intrude in on her life or activities. Besides this, she also has a great fear of pain. Her thinking is that, even if she is going to be resurrected, and may not remember the pain after death, in *this* life she is experiencing the pain, and the worst thing that could possibly happen is to die slowly.

Kaname was born, raised, and trained by the Star Army of Yamatai. She is only recently out of her individual occupation training. While training, she received high scores, at the same time excluding all sisterly contact. Kaname has lived in a rather hedonistic way. She indulged herself in whatever happened to be her current hobby or task, isolating herself and selfishly taking up as much of it as possible - proving to others that she was the best at it, and many times failing.

Upon passing her final course, her sensei pulled her aside, and shamed her for her behavior: “The only team you can play on is your own, Kaname, and that is a behaviour that will stunt your growth in the Star Army.”

Kaname has been trained in hand-to-hand combative skills. She has been trained in the use of common weaponry. She knows the proper procedures for responding to both direct and indirect fire. She understands the Readiness Conditions.

Kaname as an information technology specialist and as a Star Army soldier has been trained in the use of radio communications and its procedures. She can report information accurately and quickly. She is familiar with the 7-line procedure for medical assistance and artillery fire requests.

Kaname has been trained in the use of common vehicles and equipment within the Star Army. She can operate both primary times of power armor, utility trucks, and surface terrain vehicles. Kaname can navigate by use of a map. Kaname for her specialty has also been trained in navigation of starmaps, and stellar maps.

Kaname can respond to shipboard emergencies, including damage control and firefighting. She is familiar with the use of the equipment necessary, and has been trained in how to appropriately adapt when that equipment is not available. Kaname can also provide combat first-aid, including tourniquets, bandaging, basic triage, and the 7-line request method for medical assistance (with a fair “Medic!” thrown in for good measure).

Kaname is trained in the proper method of guarding and searching a prisoner-of-war. Kaname is also trained in securing and breaching computer networks. Kaname is familiar with the common types of attacking and probing programs. She is also familiar with both active and passive monitoring methods of networks.

Kaname is capable of writing, debugging, and implementing programs in attack, defense, and surveillance of computer networks. She is also trained in cracking and deciphering enemy encryptions to break into their communications. Above all, she is proficient in infiltrating an enemy network, and preventing infiltration by the enemy.

As a cross-training measure, Kaname has learned how to fly Yamataian starships, from the fighter level up. She is no ace - but it is a nice hobby, and if she were to get a more advanced education, an alternative occupation.
